Em um ensaio teórico, pautado no paradigma qualitativo, e com base em pressupostos freireanos, nosso debate se dá pelo viés das potencialidades da formação de professores frente ao contexto atual em que estamos inseridos, no qual impera um currículo prescrito. Abstract:
Abstract How should learning in higher education best meet the challenges posed by the many changes in society and employment? If graduates are knowledgeable in a particular field of studies and are trained in key generic competences/transferable skills to allow for autonomy and responsibility, is that enough? Is it being achieved? Or are new and diverse sets of learning models (Lifelong Learning or the 60 Year Curriculum) needed? Learners must be empowered to operate as responsible and active citizens in their society and be successful participants in a dynamic labour market. Society will require continuous (re-)training to handle rapid technological and societal changes. To stay relevant as autonomous educational providers, higher education institutions will have to change their formats of learning and teaching. A revised higher education model demands a highly flexible format to cater for individualised learning pathways, based on three key components: (1) a particular field of studies (thematic or disciplinary)—the core—(2) a fully integrated set of transferable skills and (3) a large set of learning units of various sizes covering a flexible curriculum. Can it respond to five societal challenges in each component: interculturalism; processes of information and communication; processes of governance and decision making; ethics, norms, values and professional standards and the impact of climate change? Measuring and Comparing Achievements of Learning Outcomes in Higher Education in Europe (CALOHEE), an EU funded project envisages a new model. The paper will partly be based on the (initial) findings of this project. International cooperation in the context of the EHEA is essential to engage all, and make a change.

This chapter describes a multi-modal faculty professional development program designed using the Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, and Evaluation process (ADDIE) and the Community of Learners model. The program includes a general training series, one-on-one trainings, on-demand training, as well as social events. The general training series is offered synchronously via face-to-face and webinar formats simultaneously. This training series is also offered asynchronously via training videos and slides that are published to a website. Additionally, the professional development program encourages faculty to support one another and share their experiences through social events and colloquiums. This multi-modal approach creates an adaptable and flexible environment that allows the professional development program to meet the needs of a diverse group of faculty.

Abstract:
Companies and organizations are increasingly turning to remote-based teleworkers to fill vital positions. This is due to a variety of circumstances, including increasing difficulty in locating and attracting potential employees who possess the requisite skills required for positions, locating potential employees who reside in close geographic proximity to the corporate facilities, high costs associated with relocating employees across the country or globe, and high costs associated with supporting a large, localized workforce. Therefore, developing and supporting a strong remote workforce becomes a critical business strategy and an important component of the corporate Value Chain. Providing ongoing training, development, and credentialing for these remote teleworkers can be challenging for many companies – despite technological advancements in recent years. In response, many companies are increasingly taking it upon themselves to provide workforce education and certification – bypassing traditional education formats in favor of emerging models for training, development, and competency certification. Four strategies/models are proposed in this chapter for training and credentialing remote teleworkers, including utilization of Open Systems, which are gaining popularity in corporations such as Google, the Khan Academy, and Autodesk; Badging and Open Badging, which are commonly used in corporations such as Samsung, NASA, and Disney; Gamification and 3D Simulation Strategies, which are used in a variety of corporate training; and Learning Support Managers, which are used by companies such as Apple, Inc.

In health care, patient information of interest to health providers, researchers, public health researchers, insurers, patients, etc., is stored in different locations via electronic media and/or hard-copy formats. All potential users need electronic access to health information technology systems such as: electronic health records, personal health records, patient portals, and ancillary systems such as imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, etc. Controlling access to information from multiple systems requires granularity levels of privileges ranging from one patient to a cohort to an entire population. In this paper, we present a viewpoint of the state of secure digital health care in the United States, focusing on the resources that need to be protected as dictated by legal entities and regulations, the available approaches in the present state-of-the art, and, the potential needs for the future of security for digital health care. By utilizing a real world scenario, the authors explore the limitations of health information exchange in the United States, and present one possible architecture for secure digital health care that builds on existing technology alternatives.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the features of methodological support of teachers of history, law and civic education by highlighting the elements of media literacy, focusing on memorable dates in the history of the Ukrainian state-building process through the prism of research in teacher training. Emphasis is placed on practice-oriented formats of classes. Some of the key (as of today) aspects of thematic vectors of teacher training (media literacy, commemoration of memorable events within the Ukrainian statehood, etc.) are highlighted. During the coverage of various vectors within the framework of work with students of advanced training courses, a structural-chronological approach to the coverage of the issue was applied. It is determined that the implementation of practice-oriented formats of activities contributes to the development of teachers' key and subject competencies, the formation of valuable skills and abilities necessary for orientation in the vortex of different areas of research.

Abstract:
In this work we present the project of initiation to the Educational Research-Action (INED), within the pedagogical training program for university teachers organized by the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE), of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). This project responds to a need for a group of teachers that starts with a professional background and requires training to advance the process of professionalization of teaching, aligned with the concept of scholarship and the movement generated around it. The proposal is formulated as an action research to promote the improvement of

The scientific corpus in technical fields such tribology is not immune from the harm resulting from unethical research behavior, whether intentional or unintentional. When combining this with an increasingly competitive and globalized scientific arena, the research environment can become quite fertile grounds for spawning unethical research behavior. At the same time, the increasing speed of the dissemination of research results due to the various online publication formats has highlighted the need for honest and transparent publications. Abstract:
Abstract Image-based characterization of rock fabric is critical for understanding recovery mechanisms in shale formations due to the significant multiscale nature of shale source rocks. Nanoscale imaging is particularly important for characterizing pore-scale structure of shales. Nanoimaging techniques, however, have a tradeoff between high-resolution/high-contrast sample-destructive imaging modalities and low-contrast/low-resolution sample-preserving modalities. Furthermore, acquisition of nanoscale images is often time-consuming, expensive, and requires signficant levels of expertise, resul

Abstract:
Abstract One of the most vital reservoir properties is permeability. It is usually measured using core samples with two major measurement methods; using gas or using liquid. The purpose of this work is to use a data-driven recurrent neural network model to estimate the equivalent liquid permeability based on gas permeability. By using this model, the equivalent liquid permeability can be predicted for the permeability of core samples with rich clay minerals measured using gas (or any core sample that is measured using gas). This will give an alternative way to the currently used method (Klinke
