This paper aims at presenting an experimental investigation to obtain the optimum formability of light-weight alloys under the multi-stage forming process. Titanium alloy sheets (Ti-6Al-4V) and aluminium alloy sheets (AA5052) are selected as forming specimens. The special fixture with heating device is applied in order to carry out the prestraining process. The swift forming test at warm-forming condition is performed for measuring the limit dome heights after the multi-stage formign process. The outcomes of this investigation are valuable for engineers to design and fabricate high-quality light-weight components efficiently.

ABSTRACT: Throughout the tropics there are a few hundred ant species that nest exclusively inside myrmecophytes (i.e. ant-domatia bearing plants). For these ants, nesting space is an essential resource that must be shared among them, therefore opening the possibility for strong intraspecific and interspecific competition. Several ant–myrmecophyte systems from Central Amazonia were investigated to test the relevance and generality of the nesting space limitation hypothesis for plant-ants. Empirical patterns were drawn at four organizational levels: (a) individual level—ant species with small-bodied queens were the most frequent partners of myrmecophyte species offering small-sized domatia, while ants with large-bodied queens dominated host species with large-sized domatia, suggesting that host choice by inseminated queens and interspecific conflicts over host dominance seem to be influenced by space limitation; (b) colony level—in eight independent ant–myrmecophyte systems, ant colony size was positively correlated to the number of domatia provided by the host, and the mean occupancy level of the domatia by ants was 92%, suggesting that space can be limiting to colony growth; (c) population level—ant colony number and distribution was determined by the local availability and distribution of its plant partners; and (d) community level—across ant-myrmecophyte systems, the commonness of ant species were largely determined by the commonness of their specialized host partners. Within ant-myrmecophyte systems, rarity of ants seems to be defined by interspecific conflicts over host dominance. The ecological and evolutionary consequences of those patterns are discussed.RESUMO. Nos trópicos existem algumas poucas centenas de espécies de formigas que nidificam exclusivamente dentro de mirmecófitas (i.e. plantas possuidoras de domácias). Para estas formigas, o espaço de nidificação é um recurso essencial que precisa ser dividido entre elas, abrindo assim a possibilidade de competição intraespecífica e interespecífica forte. Diversos sistemas formiga-plantas da Amazônia Central foram investigados para se testar a relevância e generalidade da hipótese da limitação de sítios de nidificação para formigas associadas às mirmecófitas. Padrões empíricos foram gerados a quatro níveis organizacionais: (a) nível individual—espécies de formigas com rainhas de tamanho corpóreo reduzido foram os parceiros mais frequentes de espécies de mirmecófitas que oferecem domácias pequenas, enquanto que espécies de rainhas grandes dominam espécies de hospedeiros que oferecem domácias grandes, sugerindo que a escolha de hospedeiros por rainhas inseminadas e conflitos interespecíficos pela dominância do hospedeiro parecem ser influenciados por limitações de espaço; (b) nível da colônia—em oito sistemas formiga-plantas independentes, o tamanho da colônia das formigas foi positivamente correlacionado ao número de domácias oferecido pelo hospedeiro, e o nível médio de ocupação das domácias por formigas foi 92%, sugerindo que espaço pode estar limitando o crescimento das colônias; (c) nível da população—o número e a distribuição das colônias de formigas foi determinado pela disponibilidade local e distribuição dos parceiros vegetais; e (d) nível da comunidade—entre os sistemas formiga-plantas, formigas comuns e raras correspondem a aquelas especializadas respectivamente em espécies de mirmecófitas comuns e raras. Dentro de cada sistema formiga-planta, a raridade das formigas parece ser definida por conflitos interespecíficos sobre a dominância dos hospedeiros. As conseqüências ecológicas e evolutivas destes padrões são discutidas.

Uma colônia de formigas Camponotus cingulatus foi coletada e identificada a partir de uma floricultura no município de Capão do Leão, consistindo no seu primeiro registro para o estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Por apresentar grande densidade de infestação, além de associação com hemípteros sugadores de seiva e agressividade ao serem perturbadas, essas formigas reduziram as vendas e tornaram-se um incômodo para o proprietário. Dessa forma, este registro aponta para a necessidade de pesquisas sobre essa formiga no estado.

Abstract:
As formigas são os principais dispersores invertebrados de sementes encontradas no solo. No entanto, ainda conhecemos pouco sobre a história natural das espécies de formigas e como elas poderiam atuar na dispersão de sementes. Em busca de padrões alométricos entre formigas e sementes, que poderiam ser extrapolados para outros locais e outras espécies, comparamos modelos de sementes artificiais com tamanhos diferentes e os relacionamos com algumas medidas de tamanho das formigas. As sementes artificiais foram oferecidas em seis transectos com dez pontos de observação instalados no campus da Universidade Federal do Amazonas, em Manaus. Foram registradas 20 espécies de formigas interagindo com as sementes artificiais. Formigas do gênero Ectatomma removeram uma quantidade maior de sementes, seguidas por Pheidole, Odontomachus e Pachycondyla. A maior distância percorrida foi de 5,10 m, em um evento de dispersão por E. brunneum Smith, 1858. Formigas menores de 2 mm não removeram nenhum dos modelos de sementes artificiais, mas consumiram o arilo artificial no local onde a semente foi oferecida. Nossos resultados reforçam que a qualidade da dispersão de sementes é dependente da identidade do parceiro (espécie de formiga), mas que formigas maiores removem mais sementes e a distâncias maiores

Existe preocupação sobre as reais possibilidades de agravos à saúde pública que possam ser causados pela veiculação de agentes patogênicos através de formigas urbanas. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo isolar e identificar os microrganismos associados às formigas em ambiente hospitalar. Foram coletadas 125 formigas, da mesma espécie, em diferentes unidades de um Hospital Universitário. Cada formiga foi coletada com swab embebido em solução fisiológica e transferida para um tubo com caldo Brain Heart Infusion e incubados 35ºC por 24 horas. A partir de cada tubo, com crescimento, foram realizadas inoculações, em meios específicos, para isolamento dos microrganismos. As formigas apresentaram alta capacidade de veiculação de grupos de microrganismos, sendo que 63,5% das cepas eram bacilos Gram positivos produtores de esporos, 6,3% eram bacilos Gram negativos, cocos Gram positivos corresponderam a 23,1% das cepas, 6,7% eram fungos filamentosos e 0,5% eram leveduras. Desta forma, pode-se inferir que as formigas podem ser um dos responsáveis pela disseminação de microrganismos em ambientes hospitalares.

Estudou-se patógenos associados às formigas encontradas no Hospital Escola da Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro, Uberaba/MG. Três espécies de formiga foram identificadas: Tapinoma melanocephalum, Pheidole sp e Paratrechina longicornis. Os principais microorganismos encontrados foram Staphylococcus sp, bacilo Gram-positivo, Pseudomonas sp e Micrococcus sp. Os resultados das coletas foram analisados, segundo o número de colônias e os diferentes microrganismos isolados, aplicando teste t de Student. A análise estatística revelou diferença significativa apenas para Staphylococcus sp com p = 0,005. É possível que formigas e agentes patogênicos tenham associações mutualísticas, e que a análise dessa relação possa levar a novas estratégias de controle, com ênfase não apenas nos insetos, mas especialmente em qual agente está associada essa espécie de inseto.

The porous molybdenum was prepared by addition of pore forming agent and powder metallurgy method. The results show that the species and amount of pore forming agent are the primary influencing factors for the microstructures and properties of porous molybdenum. The pore shapes in porous molybdenum are regular and uniformly distributed. The porosity of porous molybdenum would be the largest and the transmission rate would be the best when sodium chloride was selected as pore forming agent. The compressive fracture strength of porous molybdenum would be more than 30MPa when the ammonium hydrogen carbonate was selected as pore formimg agent and its addition was 70 % (volume fraction). But the porosity would be the lowest.

Mimetismo é um fenômeno no qual uma espécie apresenta características morfológicas derivadas da evolução convergente com outra espécie não relacionada e que lhe confere alguma vantagem seletiva. Estudar animais miméticos e seus modelos pode auxiliar na compreensão das relações ecológicas e evolutivas em uma comunidade complexa. Relacionamos aranhas miméticas de formigas com seus possíveis modelos. Definimos similaridade mímico x modelo a partir de comparações baseadas em critérios morfológicos. Analisamos 104 aranhas miméticas (11 gêneros, quatro famílias). As formigas-modelo mais frequentes são Ponerinae, predadoras agressivas comuns que exploram todos os estratos de florestas e agroflorestas. Formigas-modelo do gênero Pseudomyrmex apresentam características similares; as demais (Cephalotes, Camponotus, Crematogaster e Dolichoderus) são tolerantes a outros animais próximos ao formigueiro; além de Eciton, que são predadoras nômades, agressivas e populosas. As características mais frequentemente imitadas pelo mimético são constrições, padrões de cor, pelos distribuídos no cefalotórax e alongamento do corpo, que confundem o observador com os três tagmas da formiga-modelo. Raramente há sobreposição exata entre os detalhes morfológicos do modelo e do mimético. A morfologia dessas aranhas sugere mais as feições de um gênero/grupo de formigas do que uma única espécie-modelo

The study showed that the influence of alloying elements on the secondary structure formation of the steels containing from 0.19 to 0.37 wt. % carbon; 0.82-1.82 silicon; 0.63-3.03 manganese; 1.01-3.09 chromium; 0.005-0.031 nitrogen; up to 0.25 wt.% vanadium and austenite grain size is determined by their change in the content of vanadium nitride phase in austenite, its alloying and overheating above tac3, and the dispersion of ferrite-pearlite, martensitic and bainitic structures is determined by austenite grain size and thermal kinetic parameters of phase transformations. Analytical dependencies are defined that describe the experimental data with a probability of 95% and an error of 10% to 18%. An analysis results of studying the structure formation of structural steel during tempering after quenching show that the dispersion and uniformity of the distribution of carbide and nitride phases in ferrite is controlled at complete austenite homogenization by diffusion mobility and the solubility limit of carbon and nitrogen in ferrite, and secondary phase quantity in case of the secondary phase presence in austenite more than 0.04 wt. %. Equations was obtained which, with a probability of 95% and an error of 0.7 to 2.6%, describe the real process.

Seu estudo vem sugerindo e testando hipóteses ecológicas e evolucionárias aplicáveis a muitas outras formas de mutualismo. A cada ano relações mais especializadas entre formigas e plantas são descobertas. Entre estas relações podemos mencionar a obtenção de abrigo e/ou alimento pela formiga, que implica no fornecimento de proteção a planta contra herbivoria, dispersão de suas sementes e, até, polinização de suas flores. Nesta revisão são discutidos os tipos de interações mutualísticas entre formigas e plantas existentes. Mutualistics interactions between ants and plants Abstract. The mutualism between ant and plants is the one of the more studied ecological relationships, and these studies have been suggesting and testing ecological and evolutionary hypothesis that can be applied to many other kinds of mutualism. Each year more specialized mutualism relationships between ants and plants are discovered. Among these relations we can mention the obtaining of shelter and / or food by the ant, witch implies in providing plant protection against herbivory, dispersal of seeds and even pollination of their flowers. In this review are discussed mutualistics types of interactions between ants and existing plants.

ABSTRACTBacillus anthracis, the bacterium that causes anthrax, is an agent of bioterrorism. The most effective antimicrobial therapy forB. anthracisinfections is unknown. Anin vitropharmacodynamic model ofB. anthraciswas used to compare the efficacies of simulated clinically prescribed regimens of moxifloxacin, linezolid, and meropenem with the “gold standards,” doxycycline and ciprofloxacin. Treatment outcomes for isogenic spore-forming and non-spore-forming strains ofB. anthraciswere compared. Against spore-formingB. anthracis, ciprofloxacin, moxifloxacin, linezolid, and meropenem reduced theB. anthracispopulation by 4 log10CFU/ml over 10 days. Doxycycline reduced the population of thisB. anthracisstrain by 5 log10CFU/ml (analysis of variance [ANOVA]P= 0.01 versus other drugs). Against an isogenic non-spore-forming strain, meropenem killed the vegetativeB. anthracisthe fastest, followed by moxifloxacin and ciprofloxacin and then doxycycline. Linezolid offered the lowest bacterial kill rate. Heat shock studies using the spore-producingB. anthracisstrain showed that with moxifloxacin, ciprofloxacin, and meropenem therapies the total population was mostly spores, while the population was primarily vegetative bacteria with linezolid and doxycycline therapies. Spores have a profound impact on the rate and extent of killing ofB. anthracis. Against spore-formingB. anthracis, the five antibiotics killed the total (spore and vegetative) bacterial population at similar rates (within 1 log10CFU/ml of each other). However, bactericidal antibiotics killed vegetativeB. anthracisfaster than bacteriostatic drugs. Since only vegetative-phaseB. anthracisproduces the toxins that may kill the infected host, the rate and mechanism of killing of an antibiotic may determine its overallin vivoefficacy. Further studies are needed to examine this important observation.

Térmitas e formigas são agentes bióticos com alto nível de diversificação, indicando degradação do solo e deficiência nutricional do mesmo. Com os danos causados por eles, no solo e em plantas de eucalipto, faz-se necessário o controle dessas pragas, de maneira que, para o sucesso da aplicação do manejo integrado de pragas, a avaliação populacional desses indivíduos é fundamental, sendo imprescindível saber como eles se distribuem no campo. Dessa forma, objetivou-se investigar a dinâmica de distribuição espacial de ninhos de formigas e termitas em uma área de floresta plantada de eucalipto, bem como estudar o impacto causado por essas pragas no solo e na planta. Na avaliação dos atributos no plantio de Eucalyptus urophylla foram cinco: (1) o número de árvores mortas, (2) número de formigueiro e (3) número de ninhos de térmitas, (4) área dos formigueiros e (5) área dos ninhos de térmitas. Para os atributos de área de ninhos de formiga e térmitas foi coletado de 3 a 5 amostras das áreas, em seguida realizou a média, a fim de corresponder a cada ponto georreferenciado. Houve uma distribuição irregular dos ninhos de formigas e de térmitas pela área de estudo, atenuando a invasão do capim, principalmente em locais com maior número de ninhos de formigas, recomendando a manutenção deste povoamento em função destes agentes bióticos na área.

Появление на строительном рынке Республики Беларусь плит безопалубочного формования с высотой сечения 320, 350, 400, 450, 500 мм открывает новые возможности при проектировании зданий и сооружений [1]. При этом данные большепролетные многопустотные плиты перекрытия и покрытия пролетом (L=10…16 метров) в основном находят свое применение в каркасных системах со свободным опиранием на балки, прогоны и ригели. Данные конструктивные системы с однопролетными плитами и шарнирным опиранием на опорах хорошо изучены и понятны для инженеров, осуществляющих проектирование зданий и сооружений. Представляется вполне целесообразным расширить область применения большепролетных плит и для стеновых конструктивных систем зданий. Исследование напряженно-деформированного состояния узлов опирания плит на стеновые конструкции, влияние пригруза в опорных узлах на работу большепролетных плит перекрытия, фактические значения углов поворота в сечениях при различных граничных условиях представляют большой практический интерес, которому посвящена данная статья.

The article reveals the key stages of the formation of professional competencies of students of specialty “Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education” in the reform of the educational process, justifies the understanding of the term “competence”, special attention is paid to various aspects of the definition of the concept. The characteristic features of global changes associated with the urgent need of society in intellectual, creative individuals with critical thinking skills are highlighted and described. In this regard, the main task of universities is the orientation of the educational process towards modernization, which consists in changing the role of the teacher, applying new approaches to the organization of the educational process, using modern educational technologies, contributing to the formation of students' competencies required in their future professional activities. The authors point out a number of topical issues related to the problem of forming professionally oriented communicative competence of future primary school teachers. The main content of the study is the analysis of the author's experience of enhancing the educational process in elementary school and the organization of conditions for the formation of professional competencies of future professionals required in the learning process, generalized educational technology, which is very relevant in the university. Based on the study of this problem conclusion was made that a renewed understanding and formation of professional and general cultural competencies of future specialists should consist not only of professional knowledge, but also general human values in general. The article presents the criteria of forming professional and communicative competences of students in higher education institution. According to the results of the study, the authors’ vision of intensifying the learning process and the formation of professional competencies of students, which they need in their future profession, is presented. Pedagogical conditions contributing to the effective formation of communicative competence of a future elementary school teacher are revealed.
