Cette étude porte sur le forum, cet espace situé au coeur de la Cité romaine. D'abord lieu d'habitat sporadique, le forum va devenir une place monumentale à partir des Tarquins, au 6es. Et devenir le centre politique, religieux et économique de Rome. Notre recherche se porte cependant essentiellement sur l'époque impériale, car c'est l'image de cette époque que les auteurs ont le plus souvent restituée. Ces reconstitutions apparaissent surtout dans le dernier quart du 19es. , à l'époque où les fouilles sont en voie d'achèvement, ce qui n'empêche pas qu'elles comportent une part d'imagination.

This thesis looks in particular at a number of satires by the Roman poets Horace and Juvenal in which food is prominent: Horace's Satires 2.2, 2.4 and 2.8 and Juvenal's satires 4, 5, 11 and 15. Although initially published as the eyes of ancient Greek warships, many scholars have doubted the validity of this attribution. This thesis investigates the existence of stress in the Roman Catholic priesthood. A transactional model of stress is adopted as a heuristic for this investigation.
