Abstract:

For several years, we have studied the stygobitic freshwater malacofauna from the various upwellings and springs of the municipality of Salses-leChâteau (Eastern Pyrenees, France). Recent surveys have enabled us to discover various gastropod populations of the genus Moitessieria Bourguignat, 1863, which we attribute to M. racamondi sp. nov., M. juvenisanguis Boeters et Gittenberger, 1980 and M. simoniana (Saint-Simon, 1848). Here we report photographs, tables and biometrical analyses, which allow us to distinguish the new species as well as to report a new locality for M. juvenisanguis.

AbstractThe population dynamics of Labratrema minimus (Stossich, 1887) metacercariae (Trematoda, Bucephalidae) were studied in its second intermediate fish host Atherina boyeri from Salses-Leucate lagoon (Northwest Mediterranean Sea, South of France), during the cercarial shedding period. En 2004, elle était présente sur la presque totalité de la moitié nord de la lagune avec des biomasses importantes (jusqu‘à 600 gPS/m²).
