Abstract:
Large format photography refers to the photographic practice that utilizes a large light sensitive surface to capture photographs. As of 2018, large format photography is still a subset of analog photography. The digital revolution brings us into the digital era. Manufacturers and businesses in the photography industry is forced to adapt the transition from analog to digital in order to survive and succeed in the new market. Meanwhile, photography theorists find themselves facing a new set of issues because the photographs have become immediate and immaterial. While camera manufacturers have in effect accelerated the analog-to-digital transition with their proactive business strategies and relentless marketing campaigns, higher education has become the last bastion for the analog where large format camera classes teach students the tradition of photography and how to see the world contemplatively.

HDR images have much wider range of luminance values, than photographs created and displayed in a standard 24-bit format. There are several ways to create images with high dynamic range, but this diploma thesis focuses just on one of them, and it is the method of composing out of series of standard photographs. The goal of the first part of the text consists of studying, understanding and eventually writing down the basic terms and knowledge in the subject of image composition and other processes, necessary to create HDR photographs. Next the procedure of creating images with high dynamic range, processing and converting them into viewable form, is described. The following chapter contains the design of the application, which creates this kind of photographs, and which is smoothly changing into its actual implementation afterwards. The process of experimenting and its results are presented and discussed firstly in their own chapter and secondly in the attachment. The conclusion contains the summary of the work and the options of possible expansion.

Abstract:
This thesis deals with color correction of a chain that starts with the 3D Artec MHT scanner, and ends with the 3D printers (CJP – Color Jet Printing technology). In principle, it is necessary to control the color interpretation of the entire chain from the scanning of real models to the 3D print model. With color properties and their color shade, including color textures. The principle of model surface scanning using a 3D scanner is in the same principle as photo camera which scans using a conventional CMOS chip. For this reason, color palettes were scanned using the photo camera and the resulting digital data were analyzed by the Darktable software. This analysis consisted of comparing the scanned color shades of the surface with the spectrofotometer measured data. The main goal of this method was to achieve color precision in the digital data during their acquirement, adjustment and interpretation. Then the same principle was applied to the data acquired by the 3D scanner to create an ICC profile of the 3D scanner. Because the 3D printer (CJP – Color Jet Printing) uses the same principle as the 2D printer, the 2D printing device calibration principle was used again to calibrate it. There have been defined procedures that adjust the color shade to the spectrophotometrically correct shades of the resulting print on a 3D printer. Color swatches were also printed for print quality verification. It has been found that with photo camera, which was used for objective measurement in the L*a*b* coordinates of independent space, any color setting and their adjustment is very sensitive to even small imprecisions. It has been found that it is not easy to obtain accurate colors within the Detla E

Abstract:
Because luminance is the only value to which our sight responds, its measurement becomes important in terms of ensuring the proper function of vision. Nowadays luminance measuring can be made by conventional methods, such as direct using of luminance meter. However an entirely new method of measuring luminance levels is coming. This method is based on using luminance analyzers which work using a digital photography for the analysis of luminance. This thesis deals with these issues and is divided into several chapters, which form the two main parts of the thesis, the theoretical and the practical one. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the basics of lighting technology, as well as the principles of measuring the luminance using conventional methods. New methods of measurement, i.e. using luminance analyzers, are discussed in two chapters which analyse both the principle and characteristics of analyzers available today. In the practical part is a comparative measurement carried out – in the laboratory and in terrain – using both methods.

Abstract:
I used questionnaire investigation to reach the goal of my thesis. I wanted to ascertain the behaviour of users in the market when using the relevant product and to establish the importance of the attributes of digital camera for the user on the base of the research. Further my task was to set the weights of the individual attributes for multi-criteria decision-making. To compare the offered products with the help of the selected technique of multi-criteria decision-making and to suggest suitable products for the users on the base of the weights found out. The ascertained data and results will be further utilizable for consumer organizations, specifically for the Spotřebitelský institut SOS, o.p.s. (SOS Consumer institute, quasi-public company). I came to the following results after having evaluated my research. Most respondents own digital cameras, most frequently brand PANASONIC, CANON and OLYMPUS. The highest percentage of respondents use their cameras to record the personally significant moments, identically most frequently several times a week or several times a month. The main reason to choose a new camera is its function and price and the users are most frequently ready to spend between 3 001,- and 9 000,- CZK. Respondents prefer black and silver digital camera. As I supposed that there would be certain differences among the parameter preferences between genders and experiences of the users, I divided the respondents into individual segments in which I performed my further research. If I should assess the parameters most preferred by the respondents, there are certain differences between genders and experiences of the users. It is possible to say generally, on the base of the ascertained highest values of weights, that all user segments prefer the following parameters: noise (sensitivity), camera speed, battery durability, megapixel resolution and optic zoom. The clearly unimportant parameter is the possibility of printing directly from the camera that is on the last place of importance in all segments. I compared 25 digital cameras on the base of multi-criteria decision-making and the ascertained weights. I can recommend more or less the following 7 suitable products to the individual segments: Canon PowerShot SX1 IS, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500, Canon EOS 40D, Canon Ixus 870 IS, Casio EX-V7, Canon EOS 50D, Nikon D300.

Abstract:
Most of the work on photography is about image and trying to understand photography as an image. Contrary to this approach, this paper deals with the experience of the photographer at the time of taking the picture, and also the influence of photography, understood as a medium, on our perception. The main topic is the photography of movement, where we can best demonstrate how photography changes both our perception and our understanding of (objective) reality. The beginning of the work is devoted to one of the greatest Czech photographers, Josef Sudek, who describes the method of his work. Sudek's definition of the moment involved in taking the picture is "when everything fits together"; the impossibility of returning to the same moment is a central feature of photography as presented in this work. Consequently, the basis for the thesis is that (1) photography and camera change the way we perceive, and that (2) photography is an actualization of the possibility of how we see what we see. The actualization of the possibility is discussed mainly in the context of Barbara Probst, whose work "Exposures" fundamentally enters the history of photography, and who - once again - does not put emphasis on the image but rather on the photographer as the creator of the image.
