Résumé Table ronde organisée pour souligner la carrière du sociologue québécois Marcel Rioux. Les participants ont été invités à aborder la question suivante: "Qu'est-ce que les sociologues peuvent dire, dans une perspective critique, des sociétés contemporaines (dont le Québec) et de leur avenir?" Ces participants ont exploré plus particulièrement les trois thèmes suivants: 1) Quelles sont les principales perspectives sociologiques qui se sont développées ou qui sont en voie de développement au Québec? En quoi chaque perspective présente-t-elle - ou non - une orientation critique? 2) Qu'est-ce qu'une perspective critique en sociologie? Comment cette perspective s'est-elle développée au Québec, quelle est son originalité? 3) Quel est l'apport spécifique de la sociologie en général - et de la sociologie critique - en regard du rôle des intellectuels dans notre type de société? À part Marcel Rioux, les participants sont: Fernand Dumont, Marcel Fournier, Gabriel Gagnon, Nicole Laurin-Frenette, Greg Marc Nielsen.

Les groupes de femmes du Québec ont progressivement arrimé leurs interventions à une nouvelle arène politique : la « gouvernance partagée » régionale (Côté et Tremblay-Fournier, 2011; Masson, 2001). Dès 1997, le gouvernement du Québec consacrait en effet la « place des femmes en développement régional », créant par la suite, en 2003, une obligation de résultat dans ce domaine. Parallèlement, il mettait sur pied en 1996 un fonds local de soutien à l’économie sociale pour répondre aux demandes du mouvement féministe de la Marche « Du pain et des roses ». Mais les femmes semblent avoir disparu depuis du discours local sur l’économie sociale. Cette absence se vérifie-t-elle toujours? Cet article tente de répondre à la question à l’aide d’une recherche de terrain effectuée auprès d’intervenants locaux en économie sociale.

Przedstawia ich pochodzenie (w tym wpływy obce), typy i słowotwórstwo. Można stwierdzić między innymi, że nazwiska francuskie są krótsze, ale mają wiele wariantów dialektalnych, podczas gdy nazwiska polskie są dłuższe i mają bardziej bogatą derywację. Artykuł podaje także ranking takich nazwisk w statystykach demograficznych obu krajów: kowal jako etymon okazuje się najbardziej popularny. W pierwszej pięćdziesiątce we Francji są jeszcze: piekarz, młynarz i murarz; zaś w Polsce: krawiec i szewc. Noms de famille issus de l’artisanat en France et en Pologne L’article analyse les noms de famille issus de noms artisanaux en France et en Pologne. Il présente leurs origines (y compris des influences étrangères), types et formation de mots. On peut voir, entre autres, que les noms de famille français sont plus courts, mais ont beaucoup de variantes dialectales, tandis que les noms de famille polonais sont plus longs et ont une dérivation plus riche. L’article montre aussi la position de tels noms de famille dans les statistiques démographiques des deux pays : le forgeron comme étymon s’avère le plus populaire. Dans la top cinquantaine on peut trouver encore en France : fournier (boulanger), meunier et maçon ; tandis qu’en Pologne : couturier et cordonnier.

Une fonction linguale immature dite aussi déglutition dysfonctionnelle ou atypique concerne de nombreux domaines de la dentisterie (odontologie pédiatrique, orthodontie, gestion des dysfonctionnements de l'appareil manducateur, parodontologie,...). Il y a cinquante ans, Mme Maryvonne Fournier a mis au point une technique de rééducation de la langue. Étant donné les difficultés pour trouver un rééducateur compétent dans cette thérapeutique, le but de cet article est de décrire cette technique afin que les non-rééducateurs puissent l'initier et l'enseigner à leurs patients au moins pour les cas simples. Elle comprend la correction de l'immaturité linguale, de la position de repos de la langue, de la déglutition et de la phonation. Ces changements pourraient impliquer des modifications neuroplastiques adaptatives au niveau du cortex cérébral. En effet ces dernières années des études ont démontré chez l'Homme que des exercices standardisés et calibrés d'élévation ou de propulsion de la langue s'accompagnaient de telles modifications au sein du cortex moteur de la langue.

Alors qu'il existe une littérature très vaste sur les emplois et valeurs des marqueurs verbaux de temps, aspect et mode (désormais TAM) en synchronie du français, moins de travaux ont été consacrés à l'évolution de ces marqueurs d'un point de vue syntaxique, sémantique ou pragmatique. La plupart des grammaires historiques donnent avant tout des informations sur leur phonologie et morphologie, même si l'on trouve évidemment aussi des informations plus ou moins développées sur leur syntaxe et sémantique dans des ouvrages généraux sur l'histoire de la langue française (comme Brunot, 1904–1913), quelques grammaires de l'ancien français (comme par exemple Foulet, 1919; Moignet, 1973 ou Buridant, 2000), du moyen français (Martin et Wilmet, 1980) ou du français classique (Fournier, 1998) et des aperçus historiques dans des grammaires du français contemporain (comme par exemple Wilmet, 2007). Quant aux études linguistiques proprement dites, les ouvrages et travaux de Martin, Wilmet, Schøsler, Soutet ou Barral mentionnés dans la bibliographie (qui ne prétend pas être exhaustive) témoignent de l'intérêt constant des linguistes pour le développement des marqueurs de TAM.

RÉSUMÉSouvent le personnes plus âgées, tout en maintenant un certain niveau d’indépendance, comptent sur les membres de leur famille de fournir des soins et de l’assistance. Les aidants naturels qui sont aussi des infirmières autorisées (IA) peuvent fournir une perspective différente de ce qui est vécu quand leur parent âgé est admis aux soins aigus. Le but de notre recherche était d’étudier et de développer une théorie relative à la prestation de soins infirmiers, comme décrit par les IA, qui étaient les aidants naturels pour les adultes plus âgés, lorsque cette personne âgée a été admis aux soins actifs. Pendant une période de six mois en 2011, les infirmières autorisées qui ont satisfait ce critère (n = 12) ont été interrogées individuellement. Nous avons identifié deux categories centrales: “Culture de la negligence” et “Veille par le chevet.” La catégorie de base “de la Normalisation de la Négligence» a été identifié comme la théorie, fondée sur les données que les participants ont fournies qui décrivaient une culture de la négligence qui a normalisé les soins infirmiers de qualité inférieure. Ces résultats mettent en évidence la question de la négligence et de l’abus, et une enquête plus approfondie est justifiée.

RÉSUMÉCette étude a examiné les corrélats de la prestation de soins de la fin de vie fournis par les enfants adultes à leurs parents âgés et le rôle du sexe des enfants adultes en soins familiaux dans la Chine rurale. Les données proviennent de cinq vagues de l'Étude longitudinale du bien-être des personnes âgées en milieu rural dans la province de l'Anhui, en Chine, pendant 12 ans, et d'une enquête post-mortalité. On a utilisé la modélisation linéaire hiérarchique . Les résultats ont montré que l'ordre de naissance des enfants adultes, la distance géographique antérieure, et l'échange du soutien intergénérationnel antérieur étaient significativement associés à la prestation de soins de famille de la fin de vie. Les enfants les plus âgés, par rapport à d'autres frères et sœurs, fourni les plus grand soins de fin de vie pour leurs parents. Les enfants qui cohabitent avec les parents plus âgés avant leur mort, par rapport à d'autres enfants des mêmes parents, ont offert les plus grands soins. Les enfants adultes qui avaient déjà échangé le soutien instrumental avec les parents âgés avant la mort, en particulier les fils, tendaient à fournir le plus grands soins en fin de vie, par rapport à ceux d'autres.

La diversité des contributions fournies par les systèmes dʼélevage sʼappuyant sur des races locales, au côté de la production de biens alimentaires et non alimentaires, est rarement abordée de front, bien quʼelle soit essentielle pour comprendre les modalités de gestion de ces races. Ce travail de recherche fait le point sur la diversité de ces contributions mises au jour en sollicitant les points de vue dʼéleveurs de trois races ovines de lʼarrière-pays méditerranéen. Huit contributions ont été mises en évidence, à partir de 22 enquêtes en élevage. Au côté de « fournir des produits dʼélevage », les agroécosystèmes mobilisant ces races locales contribuent, par exemple, à « gérer lʼagrobiodiversité », « valoriser la ressource locale » ou à « fournir un réseau dʼéchange entre éleveurs ». Ces contributions peuvent être, dʼune part, spécifiées pour chaque éleveur et, dʼautre part, donner lieu à dʼautres contributions qui sont également identifiées. Les auteurs détaillent les contributions qui, pour certaines, sont liées à lʼexistence dʼune multiplicité de relations des éleveurs entre eux et avec dʼautres acteurs et, pour dʼautres, à une inscription particulière dans le milieu biophysique, avant de discuter ces résultats.

RÉSUMÉCette étude a examiné les types d’aide fournis par des proches aidants qui visaient à optimiser la participation de personnes aînées ayant des déficits cognitifs (personnes aidées) consécutifs à un accident vasculaire cérébral (AVC), et la façon dont ces types d’aide différaient selon le niveau de fardeau des proches aidants. Un devis longitudinal mixte a été utilisé. Douze proches aidants d’aînés ayant subi un AVC ont complété un questionnaire sur le fardeau du proche aidant et ont participé à des entrevues semi-structurées qui ont été réalisées trois semaines, trois mois et six mois suivant le congé de l’hôpital (soins aigus), de l’unité de réadaptation fonctionnelle intensive ou de l’hôpital de jour. Les personnes aidées ont passé des tests cognitifs et ont rempli un questionnaire sur la participation sociale. Les types d’aide fournis par les proches aidants ont différé selon la quantité d’aide apportée, selon le niveau de préoccupation associé au bien-être de la personne aidée et selon l’impact sur la vie sociale du proche aidant. Il est intéressant de constater que les types d’aide favorisant la participation, l’estime de soi et le maintien des capacités n’étaient pas associés à un impact négatif sur la vie sociale des proches aidants. Une meilleure compréhension des relations entre les différents types d’aide et le fardeau des proches aidants permettrait d’optimiser le soutien fourni pour la participation sociale d’aînés ayant subi un AVC sans augmenter le fardeau de leurs proches aidants.

RésuméL’objectif général de cette recherche a consisté à apprécier le degré de concordance entre un système de classification imposé (le DSM III) et un système de classification naturel ou intuitif. Pour ce faire, on a mis en correspondance des observations en langage naturel (diagnostic en clair) fournies par 158 psychiatres différents sur 999 malades psychiatriques avec les diagnostics établis selon les critères du DSM III. Dans cet échantillon, 823 malades ont relevé d'un traitement antidépresseur; ils ont été répartis en 7 groupes de dépression (majeure simple isolée, mélancolique, bipolaire, atypique, atypique avec symptômes obsessionnels, avec alcoolisme, avec symptômes obsessionnels et alcoolisme) et un groupe répondant au diagnostic de schizophrénie. Les observations en langage naturel ont été traitées de façon entièrement automatique par le programme SPAD. Ont été analysées successivement la fréquence de certains mots clés, les formes graphiques (lexicales) caractéristiques et les phrases modales prononcées par les psychiatres à propos de chaque groupe de malades. Ces données ont été synthétisées dans l'analyse factorielle lexicale qui fournit une représentation simultanée des formes graphiques et des groupes diagnostiques. Les résultats font apparaître une concordance satisfaisante entre les diagnostics du DSM III et les observations en langage naturel à l'exception cependant de la dépression majeure et de la mélancolie qui se trouvent quasiment confondues dans les descriptions. Ces résultats ont été discutés en termes d'interactions entre systèmes diagnostiques imposés et systèmes diagnostiques spontanés.

This chapter establishes that scholarly approaches to flâneurs have downplayed the broader impact of the urban experience on the senses and underappreciated their aural acuity. From the type's early formulations by Honoré de Balzac, Auguste de Lacroix, and Victor Fournel, the flâneur is attuned to city sounds, and flâneur-writing arranges them to portray the city as concert. The art of flânerie consists of transforming the empirical confusion of city sounds into a unified musical composition. As the clamor of the streets promoted selective hearing, street musicians were targeted as major contributors to the city as concert. Close readings of verbal and visual sketches by Delphine de Girardin, Maria d'Anspach, Bertall, and Old Nick show that class-biased ideas about concert music influenced their often humorous reactions to street noise; nevertheless, the neurasthenic bourgeois ear was often less than receptive to the intrusive noise of foreign street performers. In contrast, Victor Fournel waxed enthusiastic about the people's love of music. A close reading of his Ce qu'on voit dans les rues de Paris makes sense of his distinctive appreciation for street music.

Bacteria of the genus Rickettsia belong to the family Rickettsiaceae in the order Rickettsiales and have for long been described simply as short, Gram-negative, strict intracellular rods that retain basic fuchsin when stained by the method of Gimenez (Raoult and Roux 1997). These bacteria are associated with ticks, lice, fleas or mites. To date the Rickettsia genus contains 24 recognized species classified into three groups based on their antigenic, morphological, and ecologic patterns: 1) the typhus group, 2) the spotted fever group and 3) Rickettsia bellii (Fournier and Raoult 2007). Most spotted fever group (SFG) rickettsiae are closely associated with ticks belonging to the family Ixodidae (also called “hard” ticks) (Parola et al. 2005). Ticks can act as vectors, reservoirs, and/or amplifiers of SFG rickettsiae and require optimal environmental conditions which determine the geographic distribution of the vectors and consequently the risk areas for rickettsioses. Many Rickettsia species are strictly associated with one genus of ticks and the transmittion to people is made through the tick bite, which generally implies that the Rickettsia can localize to their salivary glands. Therefore, since larvae, nymphs, and adults may all be infective for susceptible vertebrate hosts, the ticks must be regarded as the main reservoir host of rickettsiae. Humans are not considered as good reservoirs for Rickettsiae, as they are seldom infested with ticks for long periods and rickettsiaemia has normally short duration, especially with antibiotic intervention.

This chapter asks wider questions about the flow of time as it was explored in this historical writing. It focuses on Jaurès’ philosophy of history, initially through a brief discussion of his doctoral thesis and the essay entitled ‘Le bilan social du XIXème siècle’ that he provided at the end of the Histoire socialiste, then through the work of three of his collaborators, Gabriel Deville, Eugène Fournière, and Georges Renard. One of the most important challenges for socialists in the early twentieth century was to understand the damage and division caused by revolution, while not losing the transformative mission of their socialism. With these elements established, the chapter returns to Jaurès, and in particular the long study of nineteenth-century society in chapter 10 of L’Armée nouvelle. Jaurès advanced an original vision of the nineteenth century and its meaning for the socialist present.

Faisant suite à l’Assemblée des Ponts et chaussées créée au milieu du XVIIIe siècle, le Conseil général des Ponts et chaussées, instauré en 1804, donne son avis sur toutes les questions relatives à l’aménagement du territoire (routes, ponts, voies navigables, ports, chemins de fer, moulins et usines, assainissement et gestion des espaces naturels). Les 188 tables tenues de 1814 à 1965 présentent l’ensemble des affaires examinées par cette institution. Elles fournissent la date des avis rendus et rassemblés dans les 2 000 registres des délibérations. Numérisées et attachées à l’inventaire des archives du Conseil général des Ponts et chaussées, ces tables sont consultables sur le site Internet des Archives nationales. Afin de fournir une clé d’accès à cet ensemble archivistique, les Archives nationales ont lancé en janvier 2017 un projet collaboratif ouvert aux internautes désireux de participer à distance au relevé de l’ensemble des affaires indiquées dans les tables. Ces relevés sont effectués dans le cadre de missions historiques ou thématiques à l’aide d’outils fournis par les Archives nationales. En trois ans, ce projet a évolué, notamment suite aux suggestions de contributeurs. La liste des missions ouvertes et des outils d’aide à la lecture est désormais consultable sur le carnet de recherche créé en 2018 pour l’ensemble des projets participatifs menés par les Archives nationales.

This chapter focuses on the individuals immortalized in the portrait panels in the new library of the Collège de Sorbonne. Built on a north-south axis, the long sides of the new library’s upper floor feature thirty-eight windows that not only provided necessary light but also serve as the library’s principal ornamentation. Twenty-five of the windows were embellished with portrait panels, presenting in each window an individual who had some ‘claim on the college's gratitude’. These individuals are Robert of Sorbon, William of Saint-Amour, Henry of Ghent, Godfrey [of Fontaines], Thomas of Ireland, Henry of Hesse, John of Pouilly, Peter Plaoul, John Luillier, Francis of Fon-tenay, Martin of Andocilia, John Noseret, Francis of Segovia, John of Pardo, John Jassa, John Quentin, John of La Rochelle, Gilbert Guérin, Peter Voleau, Dominic Beguin, Andrew of Château-Neuf, Gilles Boileau de Bouillon, John Charron, Gilbert Fournier, and John Standonck.

Sigman et Levi, ainsi que Melikov et Molchanove ont indépendamment introduit le système de gestion de stocks à file d’attente en 1992. La gestion de stocks (GS) combine l'inventaire classique avec la théorie classique des files d'attente. Dans le premier cas, on suppose que le temps de service est négligeable, dans le second, le besoin d'un article pour fournir un service aux clients n'est PAS pris en considération. Cependant, dans la GS, la présence du client et de l'inventaire est essentielle pour le début du service. Nous avons examiné le travail effectué jusqu'à présent en GS dans divers scénarios : classique, nouvel essai, production, fabrication, réservation de billets, annulation, inventaire avec durée de vie commune.

Twilight's brand narrative reifies the psychological power and socio-cultural allure of the ‘monstrous' vampire myth, and enables a spectrum of relational exposure from ‘Twi-hard' (devoted Twilight fan) fandom to addictive and obsessive, compulsive, and transgressive behaviors. The consumer's relational exposure to this brand is the subject of this study. The authors discuss the tensions and paradoxes which underpin female consumption of this powerful brand. They also demonstrate disturbing dimensions to the construction of consumer-brand relationships (Fournier, 1998) which impact on not only the imaginative life but the physical lives of the Twilight fans. In so doing they extend current thinking on the spectrum of fan behaviors, and comment on ideological dimensions to the construction of fan-brand relationship.

This chapter discusses Les livres des maîtres de Sorbonne (2017) by Claire Angotti, Gilbert Fournier, and Donatella Nebbiai. This volume presents nine studies dedicated to the medieval Collège de Sorbonne of the University of Paris, to its famous and well-documented library, and to the development and use of the library's collections, vis-à-vis both subject matter and reader. All authors are experts in their respective fields, and bring to the subject matter a wealth of information and insight. Two of the studies situate the college in the context of the university and its library in the context of the libraries of Paris' other secular colleges. Meanwhile, material found in the Sorbonne's collection became the focus of two articles: commentaries on the Nicomachian Ethics and vernacular texts available for use in the library. The volume concludes with two instruments de travail useful for those studying the history of the book and the history of library: a lengthy, detailed, codicological guide to the library's manuscripts and an exhaustive annotated bibliography dealing with studies of the Sorbonne Library published between 1838 and 2017.

Micromixing strongly affects the molecular-scale contact of chemical species in numerous chemical reactions. Understanding the mechanisms governing micromixing lets us explain the relationships between the turbulence structure and the selectivity of the reaction. The micromixing models in the literature for large Schmidt numbers (Sc∼1000) are of two sorts: stochastic models (principally the Curl model) and deterministic models (such as IEM and the “engulfment” model). These models are essentially based on phenomenological considerations and on the properties of small-scale eddies related to the micromixing time. Micromixing can be quantified locally by analysing the products of a local chemical reaction if this reaction is “fast” compared to the micromixing time. This so-called chemical probe method is used in the present work, following the Villermaux method [1] on the [iodide/iodate] chemical reaction. A numerical study is carried out here to compare the different micromixing models with the experimental results of Fournier [2] in a stirred tank. In order to compute the concentrations, mass transfer equations including a reactive term are solved by a pdf model using a Monte-Carlo method. A benchmark proposed here for the micromixing models shows that the engulfment model is the more efficient in evaluating the local power dissipation means of the chemical probe.

Mixing is a fundamental issue in process engineering and many industrial fields. It is closely related to a large number of different applications, such as chemical reactions, thermal transfer, liquid-liquid extraction, crystallization, and the like. In fact, mixing whether at the reactor scale, sustained by the flow structures, or at molecular scales, influences the selectivity and hence the productivity of reactions. Understanding and quantification of the micromixing mechanism is critical in industrial chemical processes, especially for fast exothermal reactions. Micromixing can be characterized by chemical probe methods based on observation of a local chemical reaction that results from a competition between turbulent mixing at microscales and the reaction kinetics. A system of parallel competing reactions producing iodine was developed by Fournier et al. [1] to study partial segregation in stirred tanks. The coupling of the borate neutralization and the Dushman reaction in this system allows the measurement of micromixing efficiency in reactors by monitoring the amount of iodine produced. Called the iodide-iodate method, this technique has been extensively used in different types of reactors. A novel adaptive procedure recently developed by the authors to improve the reliability of the iodide-iodate method is used here. The heat exchanger-reactor presented here is an innovative geometry based on the addition in parallel of tubes equipped with helical inserts. It is expected to qualify as a low-cost compact heat-exchanger reactor and static mixer of high performance.

Abstract Human’s motion and its mechanisms had become interesting in the last years, where the medecine’s field search for rehabilitation methods for handicapped persons. Other fields, like sport sciences, professional or military world, search to distinguish profiles and ways to train them with specific purposes. Besides, recent findings in neuroscience try to describe these mechanisms from an organic point of view. Until now, different researchs had given a model about control motor that describes how the union between the senses’s information allows adaptable movements. One of this sense is the proprioception, the sense which has a quite big factor in the orientation and position of the body, its members and joints. For this reason, research for new strategies to explore proprioception and improve the theories of human motion could be done by three different vias. At first, the sense is analysed in a case-study where three groups of persons are compared in a controlled enviroment with three experimental tasks. The subjects belong to each group by the kind of sport they do: sedentary, normal sportsmen (e.g. athletics, swimming) and martial sportmen (e.g. karate, judo). They are compared thinking about the following hypothesis: “Martial Sportmen have a better proprioception than of the other groups’s subjects: It could be due to the type of exercises they do in their sports as empirically, a contact sportsman shows significantly superior motor skills to the members of the other two groups. The second via are records from encephalogram (EEG) while the experimental tasks are doing. These records are analised a posteriori with a set of processing algorithms to extract characteristics about brain’s activity of the proprioception and motion control. Finally , the study tries to integrate graphic tools to make easy to understand final scientific results which allow us to explore the brain activity of the subjects through easy interfaces (e.g. space-time events, activity intensity, connectivity, specific neural netwoks or anormal activity). In the future, this application could be a complement to assist doctors, researchers, sports center specialists and anyone who must improve the health and movements of handicapped persons. Des études ont montré qu’un accès rapide à une méthode de CU entraînerait une réduction significative de l’étendue des grossesses non désirées et des avortements chez les femmes. Cependant, malgré le fait que l’OMS ait recommandé l’intégration de la CU dans les programmes nationaux de santé, l’accès à cette méthode est encore très limité pour la grande majorité des femmes dans le monde. Au Sénégal, des études menées en 2003 et 2006 ont révélé que la CU était peu connue du public et que les pharmacies restaient le principal débouché par lequel cette méthode était proposée.
