The aim of this study was to illustrate recent developments in neural repair utilizing hyaluronan as a carrier of olfactory bulb stem cells and in new bioscaffolds to promote neural repair. Void nucleation behavior of ferrite/martensite dual phase steels varying martensite fraction was investigated. As easily recognized, void fraction was increased with strain induced, and more voids were nucleated in the sample with higher martensite fraction. On the other hands, void fraction at ductile fracture was decreased with increasing martensite fraction. Void nucleation was observed to occur due to the fracture of martensite in DP steels. In the sample with high martensite fraction, many micro voids were nucleated at initial deformation with small strain and lead to ductile fracture. In

According to the Basel Convention, a solvent-based process is the best available technology for POP-containing waste. Such processes are subject to an impurity limit, thus requiring a pre-treatment of the input material. Hollow particle (microballoon) filled polymeric composites, called syntactic foams, are tested for impact properties in the present work. Izod type pendulum impact testing is carried out on eight types of foams, which are made of four types of microballoons used in volume fractions of 0.5 and 0.6. Variation in the volume fraction of microballoons leads to a difference in the total energy absorbed during fracture of different types of foams. Results show that syntactic foams containing microballoons of lower density show lower impact strength because of the lower strength of these microballoons

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the predictors of pressure injury in patients with hip fracture in order to provide a reference for clinical practice. Condition being studied: Hip fracture has become a major public health issue of common concern in both developed and developing countries. and its incidence is estimated to rise to 6.26 million by 2050. Hip fracture patients are prone to various complications during treatment and rehabilitation, and pressure injury (PI) is one of the common complications of hip fracture. Studies have reported that the in

Covers a project to develop a fluid/structure/fracture interactive, inelastic-dynamic computational model for ductile fracture in gas transmission pipelines developed in cooperation with SNAM in Italy to infer specimen-size independent measures of the propagating fracture toughness from small-scale tests on line pipe materials. Verification by CSM on 56-in. diameter.See PR-15-527 (also L51673)
