The article examines fragments of the medieval Hebrew maqama attributed to ʿAzarʾel ben Yosef, focusing on the narrative and stylistic elements preserved in two texts. These fragments explore themes of carousal, homoerotic desire, and the interplay of literary allusion and allegory. Fragment 1 portrays a narrator engaging in revelry and pursuing an intimate connection with a youth amidst an atmosphere of licentious behaviour. Fragment 2 continues with a surreal sequence involving women vying for the youth’s attention, the narrator’s expression of longing, and his subsequent arrest by watchmen.

Abstract:
Based on data from the multimedia subcorpus of the Russian National Corpus, the paper addresses prosodic features of discourse fragments introduced by the connector prichom ‘and besides’. The data of instrumental and perceptual analysis show that the fragment with prichom has communicative-prosodic autonomy: firstly, it has an internal thematic structure with an obligatory rheme and an optional theme; and secondly, there is a prosodic break before this fragment. The autonomy of the fragment introduced by prichom is preserved in a variety of contexts: (i) both in cases where this fragment is a

Abstract:
We investigate the computational complexity of axiom pinpointing in Description Logics, which is the task of finding minimal subsets of a knowledge base that have a given consequence. We consider the problems of enumerating such subsets with and without order, and show hardness results that already hold for the propositional Horn fragment, or for the Description Logic EL. We show complexity results for several other related decision and enumeration problems for these fragments that extend to more expressive logics. In particular we show that hardness of these problems depends not only on expre

Abstract:
The properties of “scission” neutrons from thermal neutron induced fission of 233U and 235U were obtained by comparing experimental angular and energy distributions of the prompt fission neutrons measured recently at PNPI with model distributions calculated under the assumption that all prompt fission neutrons are emitted from fully accelerated fragments. To obtain model distributions, it is assumed to use the spectra of prompt fission neutrons measured at small angles relative to the preferential direction of movement of light and heavy fragments because it is expected that just for these ang

Abstract:
Indexing video data is essential for providing content based access. In this paper, we consider how database technology can offer an integrated framework for modeling and querying video data. As many concerns in video (e.g., modeling and querying) are also found in databases, databases provide an interesting angle to attack many of the problems. From a video applications perspective, database systems provide a nice basis for future video systems. More generally, database research will provide solutions to many video issues even if these are partial or fragmented. From a database perspective, v
