Full textThe object of our study is to deal with the application of the "comparative stylistics" with regard to the translation of french into korean and vice versa. The point is to perceive the difficulties which arise out of practive, to contemplate their solution and to find finally the rules for a correct translation. The "comparative stylistics" used by vinay et darbelnet to solve the translational problemes is of great help and can be applied for translating french into korean and vice versa. This methode proposes translation by blocs, by units. We have chosen as unit of translation, the french causal conjunction as well as "parce que", "car", "puisque" and their korean counterparts. We have compazred the usage of these units with extracts from textes : the text original and its version. We have found out that essentially "parce que" corresponds to "ki ttaemune" and "eoseo", "puisque" to "nikka" and "car" to "eoseo", all of these being conjunctive endings. Eventually, we have found out that the methode of "comparative stylistics" is suitable for the translation from french to korean and vice versa. The rules and methodes for a good translation apply to all languages. The difficulties arising out of the specificities of certain languages can easily be resolved through the use of elements contrived by the methode of "comparative stylistics"

Full textThe present study aims at exploring the different ways followed, consciously or inconsciously, when passing from french into arabic. It tries to establish a link between the intuitive practice of translation and the linguistic training acquired. Conclusions on the mental attitude of "speaking subjects" towards reality, recurrences in the translation activity and towards the passage from one language to another rise from this exploration. Besides, this study attempts to draw the attention to some translation problems, to develop the aptitude of foreseeing the possible solutions and to avoid the most probable errors

Full textThe present thesis deals with stylistic. Since his birth, this discipline has been the subject of different conceptions that are sometimes contradicting. We try to clarify the values attached to this term by different theoretical and practical concepts. We analyze three different approaches representing the contemporary French stylistic since 1980. Namely, the theory of semiostylistic of Georges Molinié, the linguistic and pragmatic approach of Dominique Maingueneau, and the theory of the textual linguistics of Jean-Michel Adam. Within a view of criticism, we study the basic unit, the methodology, and the objectives of each approach to determine its relevance and its importance for the stylistic and to highlight the important clarifications and contributions that it offers to this discipline. Important considerations which, up to our opinion, may contribute to prepare a successful stylistic study are presented

Full textThe prose poem from 1848 to 1917 modifies the field of poetry and opens it to new potentialities. The poetic nature is not only characterizd by formal features. In the absence of versification, the main question is whether there are stylistic processes favoring the recognition of the poetic substance of prose. Refractive to genericity, the prose poem doesn't yield to a predetermined definition. However, its enunciative bias allows us to determine a modular frame defining a specific discursive contract: their provocative statement upsets the reader and requires his active participation. The realisations of this "enunciation" can resort to different stylistic processes. The prose poem sets up diversity as an aesthetic criterion and exemplifies its many aspects. The reader faces a poetry of dissonance occuring at every textual level. The reader's props are shaken and taken away by the discursive heterogeneity in collections, as well as within poems in their motley composition. Tensions are increased thanks to the art of tonal, semantic and rhetorical oppositions. . . Prose is, in turn, taken in in this paradoxical game: resorting to silence, it operates on the duplicity of language and bends towards the implicit. The sinuous nature of oratio prosa leads the reader into an authentic hermeneutical quest. Under banal appearances, the prose poem consists in a genuine craft on verbal matter

Full textThis thesis is structured upon two complementary aspects : first the art of translation approached in its general focus, and of self-translation particularly, secondly, analysis of the translations of Parait Istrati. We will discuss three fundamental creations of Istrati ; the romanian author who wrote in french and then translated his works into Romanian narudy ; Kyra Kyralina, Oncle Aughel and Tsatsa Irenka. In this way, the interventions operated by the translator-author Istrati vary with the motivations for which he decided to resort to a translation version of his own ext. Under such circonstances the process of translation will be followed in its two directions : from mental romanian into written French and frome written French into written Romanian. The above mentionned textx of Istrati have been also translated by others, among there by Eugen Barbu who actually made a re-translation parallel to the self-translations of the autor

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to prove that we cannot create ready to use translation methods for literary texts from solutions given by two translators of a same literary text. In order to show our thesis, we compared and examined the way of translation of both translators in the three constituent elements. The first element is about the interpretation and the understanding of a literary text. The second element is about the recreation of the literary aspect of a translated text. The third element is about the decontextualisation of a translated text. The result of the research shows that the solutions proposed by the two translators from a same corpus, are based on the significant of the original text and on the equivalent words of the target language. Therefore, these solutions are the cause for the discrepancy between two artistic perceptions of a text and consequently, they cannot be applied for the translation of other texts. Our solutions are based on the meaning and the impression given by a text, thus, only our solutions can reduce the discrepancy between two artistic perceptions of a same text
Brun, Nadine. "La narration au passé simple : une évolution linguistique et stylistique." Paris 4, 2006. http://www.theses.fr/2006PA040053.
Full textThis work, based on a study of “Les relations de temps dans le verbe français” by Benveniste, also attempts to assess the numerous articles that followed in its wake. Although it appears necessary to examine more thoroughly and precisely the contexts in which the French passé simple may be used, and despite the need to redefine Benveniste’s “histoire” itself as simply deprived of deictic time adverbials, Benveniste alone provides us with a key to understanding how, through the evolution of the French language, the passé simple has become a specialized tense whose use is restricted to these very contexts. We then proceed to study the passé simple in the particular context of “histoire”: we examine separately the time adverbials, the temporal value of the tenses, to later study their co-occurrence in the clause, and the verbal aspect, defined ultimately as the relation in the verbal form between the verbal event and the moment expressed, in order to describe the narrative concatenation, from one clause to the next — especially the evolution of the narrative through successive clauses using the same tense. Finally, this lengthy study allows us to assess the specific value of “histoire” in the passé simple, its operating process as a closed context with tightened temporal order relations, and it highlights its fundamentally artificial character, that is being shown and claimed as such; the linguistic evolution of the passé simple extends into a stylistic one, through the specialization of distinct narrative genres, whether formal or private (letters, diaries), before the literary criticisms of a conformist narrative form

Full textThe analysis of the recurrences of the qualifying adjective in Chrétien de Troyes' work starts with a quantitative approach, meant to enable us to perform a qualitative examination of the unit announced by the title. The methodological principles applied are structural and comparative. On the one hand, it is a matter of isolating the adjective in the recurrent structures of Chrétien's poetical language and, on the other hand, of comparing – from the same viewpoint – his novels. Our research related to the functions of the qualifying adjective is the grammatical component of our work. What was at stake here was to prove the originality of this 12th century author, across the literary language of his time. The three aspects – namely the literary techniques, the use of highly recurrent adjectives and the symbolic dimensions of the adjectives – correspond to the leading ideas of the second part of the study. The dynamics of the Middle Ages mentalities is emphasized by the functioning of the qualifying adjective. Chrétien remains faithful to the techniques established by his predecessors and his originality is given by the sequence of units and by the creation of a different medieval world. The Appendixes are, according to us, indispensable for our critical approach, since they represent the corpus
