Abstract:
Wenn die Rede auf den kanadischen Regisseur David Cronen­berg kommt, fällt oft auch der Name Franz Kafka, was kein Wunder ist, so weist Cronen­bergs bekannter Film Die Fliege (1986) doch offensichtliche Parallelen zu Kafkas berühmter Erzählung Die Verwandlung auf. Doch der Text Die Fliege basiert auf der gleichnamigen, 1957 erschienen Kurzgeschichte des britischen Schriftstellers und Jour­nalisten George Langelaan. In dieser Analyse wird die Verbindung zwischen den Arbei­ten von Kafka, Langelaan und Cronenberg aufgezeigt.

Abstract:
Wie Jacques Derrida u. a. in Die Einsprachigkeit des Anderen oder Die ursprüngliche Prothese zeigt, ist jeder Mensch immer schon mehrsprachig. Wenn wir diesen Zustand der Nicht-Einsprachigkeit als ein allgemein-menschliches Phänomen begreifen, und dazu eignet sich die sogenannte exophone Literatur besonders, dann hilft uns das zu verstehen, dass das Fremd-Sein eines/einer Fremden zu befragen immer zugleich bedeutet, auch unser eigenes Fremd-Sein zu befragen, dann wird die Frage nach dem Fremden zur Frage der eigenen Identität. Um dies zu zeigen, lese ich Hamid Sadrs Gesprächszettel an Dora (1994) parallel zu und mit Derridas Konzept von Ein- und Mehrsprachigkeit. In dem ‚Roman‘ erfindet der Erzähler entlang von Egodokumenten seine Wahrheit über Franz Kafkas Sterben und widerspricht damit vielen Wissenschaftler- und Biograph_innen, die den Tod Kafkas als Konsequenz seines Dichterseins, seiner Zerrissenheit etc. interpretiert haben. Was uns die Dichterfigur entfremdet, ist dabei die Sprache selbst und zwar gerade die anscheinend authentischen Berichte, die, in Kombination mit den unzuverlässigen Erzählerstimmen die Konstruktion der Figur Kafka offenlegen. Der Kafka des Textes – der als K., als Kafka, als kavka auftritt, der im Erzählen als Kafka gesetzt, erschrieben wird, und zwar in jenen Worten, die die seinen sind, die ihm also vermeintlich vorangehen und doch, zugleich, folgen, sich (auch) als Nach-Schreiben entpuppen – wird wieder aufgelöst, wird fremd. Die Verwirrung der Grenzen von Ursache und Wirkung, Vorher und Nachher, Realität und Fiktion, das Sein zwischen Leben und Tod lässt die Kafka/K.-Figur zum Wanderer, zur Figur des Sowohl-alsauch werden. Das Fremd-Sein Kafkas, die Exilsituation in der Abgeschiedenheit des Sanatoriums sind dabei nicht allein Parabeln auf die Situation exiliert Lebender, wie Sadrs persönliche Lebenssituation nahelegte, sie sind darüber hinaus eine Metapher für menschliche Identitätsfindung generell.

„Też nazywam się Franz, niezbyt to odległe od kanalii, już prawie się do tego przekonałem”. Nieznany przypadek odniesienia do tradycji w klasycznym modernizmie. Zbójcy Schillera (1781) i Wyrok (1912) Kafki
 W lecie 2020 r. zmarł Jochen Schmidt (ur. 1938), jeden z najwybitniejszych niemieckich germanistów. Zasłynął dzięki studiom nad twórczością Hölderlina, Kleista, Goethego i Musila. Jego wielokrotnie wznawiana, dwutomowa Historia Geniuszu (Geschichte des Genie-Gedankens) była impulsem do powstania obszernego komentarza do dzieł zebranych Nietzschego. Do tej pory zwykle pomijano fakt, że jego ostatnia książka, będąca rozrachunkiem z kultem Nietzschego i jego Wolą mocy (Wille zur Macht), zawiera rozdział poświęcony Kafce (Schmidt 95-100). Schmidt odsłania w nim ślady Woli mocy w opowiadaniu Wyrok (Das Urteil). W swojej analizie walki między ojcem i synem dostarcza jednak niezbyt przekonującej wykładni postaci ojca jako figuracji, która spełnia funkcję „preegzystencjalną” i nadrzędną w stosunku do Georga Bendemanna. Niniejszy artykuł odnosi się wprawdzie do starszych badań na twórczością Kafki, otwiera jednak zupełnie nową perspektywę. Po raz pierwszy dramat Schillera Zbójcy (Die Räuber) został tu potraktowany jako pretekst dla opowiadania Kafki, a jego sens jest interpretowany jako koherentne przedstawienie wewnętrznej symulacji procesu emancypacji.
 
 Im Sommer 2020 starb mit dem Germanisten Jochen Schmidt (Jg. 1938) einer der herausragendsten Vertreter seines Fachs in Deutschland. Bekannt wurde Schmidt neben seinen Studien zu Hölderlin, Kleist, Goethe und Musil sowie einem von ihm angestoßenen umfangreichen Kommentar zu Nietzsches Gesamtwerk besonders durch seine mehrfach aufgelegte, zweibändige Geschichte des Genie-Gedankens. Dass das letzte von ihm vollendete Buch, eine Abrechnung mit dem Kult um Nietzsche und dessen „Willen zur Macht“, auch ein Kapitel über Kafka (Schmidt 2016, 95-110) enthält, ist bisher kaum wahrgenommen worden. In diesem Kapitel legt Schmidt Spuren des „Willens zur Macht“ in Kafkas Erzählung Das Urteil frei, gelangt jedoch in der Analyse des Kampfes zwischen Vater und Sohn am Ende zu einer nicht überzeugenden Deutung der Vatergestalt als Figuration einer Georg Bendemann vorgängigen und ihr überlegenen „Präexistenz“. Unter Einbezug der älteren Kafka-Forschung setzt der nachfolgende Beitrag hier neu an: Indem er erstmals Schillers Schauspiel Die Räuber als Prätext für Kafkas Erzählung identifiziert, erschließt er deren Sinngestalt als kohärenter Darstellung der inneren Simulation eines Emanzipationsprozesses.

Abstract:
Günther Anders bricht in Pro und Contra mit der traditionellen Kafka-Rezeption, die aus ihm einen Heiligen zu machen versucht. Die Kennzeichnung der kafkaschen Protagonisten als Außenseiter, die nach einem angemessenen Platz in dieser Welt suchen, ist Kritik am Pessimismus Kafkas und einer gewissen "Unterwürfigkeit". Anhaltspunkte für diese Einschätzung finden sich beispielsweise im Tagebuch. Der kafkasche Held, so Anders, unterwirft sich einer unbegreiflichen gesellschaftlichen Ordnung. In diesem Sinne findet man bei Kafka eine Ästhetik der Erniedrigung, in der sich die Revolte in einem juristischen Sprachduktus und der Ästhetisierung des Leidens erschöpft. Diese Form der Negativität dringt indessen in das Bewußtsein des Lesers. Die scharfe Kritik Anders erklärt sich durch seine Nähe zu Kafka selbst sowie seinen Glauben an die Bedeutung engagierter Literatur. Kafka jedoch ist auf einem anderen Gebiet zu verorten : dem nämlich eines ontologischen Widerstandes und der reinen Literatur.

Abstract:
Since the 19th century European literary tradition indisputably influenced the development of Indian literature. Indian intellectuals, familiarizing particularly with the inheritance of European modernism, follow works of modernist writers, accept their key themes and motifs, thereby bring new literary devices and images into Indian literature. One of the main authors, whose novels have made a deep impact on the development of Hindi literature, is Franz Kafka. The influence of his works is extremely visible across India. Indian writers create Kafkaesque worlds and protagonists in their own novels and stories. One of Hindi novelists, who refers to Franz Kafkas motifs, is Kunwar Narain. In Indological studies his name is associated with poetry. However, he is not only a representative of New Hindi poetry (Naī Kavitā), but a novelist also. The article is focused on Franz Kafkas influence on Indian writers fiction. It is determined in what period and in which novels Kunwar Narain uses kafkaesque motifs. The perception of Kafkas worldview concept in Kunwar Narains novels is studied. It is an attempt to find out what new Indian prose-writer brings to a kafkaesque picture of world. It is also analyzed, in what Indian literary material and in what Indian literary tradition imagery he applies the images of Kafkas stories.

Abstract:
El análisis, mediante algunas propuestas conceptuales de G. Genette, de Un médico rural de Franz Kafka (Kafuka: Inaka Isha, 2007), cortometraje de animación de Kōji Yamamura, permite observar la forma en que los absurdos, ironías, identificaciones, contrastes y otros elementos del hipotexto literario son enfatizados e intensificados en la versión fílmica hipertextual. El filme manifiesta una mirada lúcida sobre el funcionamiento del cuento de Kafka y una imaginación que se expresa mediante elementos poéticos y otros propios del cine de animación que son introducidos en la nueva versión gráfica y audiovisual del relato. El sincretismo es logrado, a partir de afinidades, entre la obra adaptada y algunas características del teatro kyōgen, del que se adoptan elementos en el filme.

Abstract:
Die Arbeit stellt einen Versuch dar, das fotografische Bild und die Körpermetapher in der Prosa Franz Kafkas als simulative und mimetische Darstellungsregister auszuweisen, die vom Leser zweierlei Empfangsarten verlangen: den Nach-Vollzug des darin inszenierten Phantomisierungs- und Verkörperungsvorgangs. Die Werke Kafkas, so die These der Arbeit, exemplifizieren damit auf eminente Weise die Vieldeutigkeit und Komplexität von Mimesis und Simulation, die auch den poetologischen Theorien von Erich Auerbach und Wolfgang Iser zugrunde liegt. Bei unterschiedlichen Voraussetzungen weisen die Positionen Auerbachs und Isers einen gemeinsamen Wesenspunkt auf, der ihrem dynamischen und prozessualen Charakter entspricht: den kreativen „Blick des Lesenden“. So treffen die poetologische Reflexion und die dichterische Darstellung bei Kafka zusammen.

It is common wisdom for international lawyers to consider the emergence of a political entity from colonial or dominion status to independence and sovereignty to connote full participation in the international legal system,1with all the rights and obligations that thereby attach.2 Thus, for example, while English colonies prior to independence could exercise substantial self-government they did not possess international legal personality3 and could not exploit or regulate their resources and territory without some act of delegation from the imperial government.4 Likewise, provinces and states, as federal sub-units, typically lack the competence to legislate extraterritori-ally5 or to exhibit other external badges of sovereignty.

Abstract:
In der Regel geht man davon aus, ein literarischer Autor schreibe nur in der eigenen Muttersprache. Dieser Gedankengang verliert an Aussagekraft, wenn Autoren wie z.B. Franz Kafka, Anise Koltz oder Jorge Semprún in Betracht gezogen werden, denn sie haben entweder ausschließlich (Kafka) in der eigenen Kultursprache geschrieben, oder sie haben sich regelmäßig der jeweiligen Kultur- und Muttersprache bedient (Koltz, Semprún). In diesem Beitrag wird anhand eigener Texte gezeigt, wie Entscheidungen über den Übersetzungsprozess getroffen werden, wenn der Autor sich der Aufgabe stellt, die eigene Produktion für die Veröffentlichung in einer anderen Sprache vorzubereiten. Dabei wird auch darüber reflektiert, ob der Selbstübersetzungsprozess je nach Ausgangssprache variiert: syntaktische, lexikalische sowie rhetorische Abweichungen zwischen Sprachen werden aufgezeigt und erläutert. Als Fazit wird versucht, aufgrund der besprochenen Anmerkungen und Anregungen ein «Lastenheft» für die Übersetzung literarischer Texte zu präsentieren.

A comunicação visa abordar alguns elementos acerca do conceito de mímesis em Walter Benjamin e em alguns textos de Theodor Adorno, focando primeiramente a relação entre mímesis e linguagem. Nessa reflexão teórica, a psicanálise possui importância para ambos os autores, já que alguns conceitos freudianos se tornaram importantes para se pensar a arte em seu aspecto pulsional. Pretende-se, então, buscar relações entre mímesis e alguns conceitos da psicanálise, e finalmente, expor como Adorno opera o conceito de mímesis no interior do debate estético da primeira metade do século XX e perguntar pela importância desse conceito na obra literária de Franz Kafka.

Abstract:
In this paper, I analyse the representation of China in the twentieth – century in the prose and poetry of two modernist authors through the textual tensions among utopia/ dystopia/hete-rotopia, specifically Franz Kafka’s ‘The Great Wall of China’ (1917) and Ezra Pound’s The Cantos (1885 – 1972) and Cathay (1915). Drawing on Foucault’s concept of heterotopia as a way of thinking about space in real and imaginary terms, as well as its political imp-lications, I consider the two writers to translate China into uto-pias/heterotopias for their own identity formation. This approach allows my paper to make observations about the poetics of each author, the modernist reception of China in terms of cultural trans-lation, and the translatability of Chinese thought in terms of inter-mediality. This paper identifies the atemporality in both authors’ approach to China, revealing the dispassionate identification of Chi-nese and Jewish culture in Kafka versus the subjective identification of real and imaginary China in Pound. I analyse the gaps between the superimposed factual plane and imagination, in order to exa-mine how they translate, accept Chinese culture and philosophy in the horizon and crisis of modernity, how they speak of ‘China’ (tex-tual China) for the aim of mirroring the self, how Chinese phi-losophy is transplanted as medicine (Pound) for the modern Euro-pean spirit. Drawing on a broad range of research, this paper syn-thesises and brings into dialogue scholarship on hermeneutics, aes-thetics, and cultural studies in several different languages. I propose to reinvigorate utopia’s inherently critical nature as critical utopias, heterotopia and meta – utopia being involved as emanations. The synthesising remarks that compare Kafka with Pound will show that they are both conducting comparative studies, transcultural interpretations; they both reject unifying views of identity, and both accept Chinese poetics, philosophy in a formal and spiritual sense.

En esta nueva edición se invita al lector a explorar el renovado territorio kafkiano, donde los límites del análisis y la reflexión se expanden más allá de lo conocido. Kafka y el arte de desaparecer brinda una perspectiva fresca sobre la obra de Kafka, manteniendo las bases que se establecieron en la primera edición, pero permitiendo que el pensamiento evolucione con el tiempo. El autor, actuando como un arquitecto del lenguaje, rediseña el espacio de expresión para adaptarse a la metamorfosis constante del texto y del pensador contemporáneo. Así, se presenta una versión de Kafka que escribe no solo en su época, sino que resuena con fuerza en la actualidad, desafiando al lector a descubrir las múltiples capas de significado que se han transformado y enriquecido con el paso del tiempo.
