Abstract:
Through the framework of Ricoeur’s philosophy, Fredriksson and Eriksson develop an influential ethics of the caring conversation, which instructs nurses to have caritas, self-esteem, and autonomy on one hand and to engage respectfully and responsibly in caring conversations on the other. This article brings the ethics of the caring conversation into dialogue with Ricoeur’s philosophy again. While Fredriksson and Eriksson draw upon Ricoeur’s little ethics, this article relies on Ricoeur’s dialectic of love and justice. The dialogue throws light on other aspects of caritas, which is vital in Fredriksson and Eriksson’s ethics. It shows a need for nurses to strike a balance between love and justice and, also, to cultivate love.

Abstract:
Krav om förbättrad spillvattenrening och städer som förgrenar sig över större områden är några av anledningarna till att dagens avloppsledningsnät får allt längre ledningssträckor. Att med gravitationens hjälp föra avloppsvatten framåt kräver ett kontinuerligt fall som vid långa avstånd kan innebära mycket schaktning, den ekonomiskt mest belastande delen vid nyinstallation av avloppsledningsnät. Ett fördelaktigt alternativ kan vara trycksatt avloppssystem, som sedan 70-talet har kompletterat de traditionella självfallssystem i kuperade och bergiga områden. På senare tid har trycksatt avloppsystem fått större användningsområde utanför sina etablerade bruksområden med anledning av skärpta krav på rening och kostnadseffektivitet. Självfallssystem är dock det mest använda avloppssystemet i urbana områden. För ett bostadsområde i utkanten av centrum, utanför de båda systemens vedertagna användningsområden, vore det därför intressant att undersöka vilket av avloppssystemen som är bäst lämpat. För VA-branschen generellt vore det också intressant att utreda hur de båda systemen står sig vid en jämförelse. Med anledning av detta var syftet med examensarbetet att jämföra trycksatt avloppssystem med självfallssystem på grundval av ekonomi, miljö och kapacitet. I tillägg undersöktes om några generella slutsatser kunde fastställas utifrån fallstudien. Undersökningen baserades på ett bostadsområde i utkanten av Fredrikstad centrum, som nyligen projekterats med självfall. Ett teoretiskt trycksatt avloppssystem projekterades. Ekonomi värderades utifrån drift- och underhållskostnader samt grund- och reinvesteringskostnader. Kapaciteten jämfördes numeriskt och via dimensioneringsmodeller. Vad gäller den miljömässiga jämförelsen utvärderades systemet med hjälp av rapporter utgivna av Svenskt Vatten och Norsk Vann. Det planerades en utbyggnad för området till dubbla antalet fastigheter vilket visade sig bli avgörande för det ekonomiska resultatet. Den vitala faktorn var de höga investerings- och driftskostnaderna för pumpenheterna vilket gjorde självfallssystemet mer ekonomiskt lämpligt. Även ur ett miljömässigt perspektiv var självfallssystemet marginellt bättre, givet att riskeffekterna inte rankades inbördes. Kapacitetsmässigt dimensioneras självfallssystem för nästan det dubbla flödet jämfört med trycksatt system, vilket ger det trycksatta systemet en kapacitet mer anpassad till behovet. Generellt sett antydde resultatet att trycksatt system var mer gynnsamt vid glesare bebyggelse.
As a result of stricter treatment requirements and city expantion the length of the sewer network is steadily increasing. To drain wastewater by gravity requires a continuous slope which often results in great excavation - a very costly part in the process. An advantageous alternative could be a pressurized sewer system, which has been a useful complement to traditional gravity systems in hilly or rocky areas since the 70’s. Even though pressurized sewer systems lately have tended to be more frequently used outside their common application area due to stricter requirements on treatment and cost-efficiency, gravity systems are still the most common sewer system in urban areas. Concerning this, it would be intresting to investigate which of the two systems that suites a residental area on the outskirts of a city center best, since the area is outside the traditional usage of the two established systems. In addition it would be interesting for the wastewater industry in general to investigate how the two systems compare.  For this reason the aim of this master thesis was to compare pressure sewer systems with gravity systems on the basis of economy, environment and capacity. In addition, it was examined whether any general conclusions could be determined from the case study. The survey was based on a residental area in the outskirts of Fredrikstad city center, recently designed with a gravity system. A theoretical pressure sewer system was designed. Economy was evaluated based on the operating and maintenance costs and basic and reinvestment costs. The capacity was compared numerically and through design templates. As for the environmental comparison, an evaluation was done on the basis of reports from the Swedish Water & Wastewater Association and Norwegian Water BA. An expansion to double the number of real properties was planned for the area of study, which proved to be crucial to the financial results. The gravity system was most appropriate from an economic standpoint and the vital factor was the high investment and operating costs for the pumping units. Even from an environmental point of view, the gravity system was maginally better. Given that the risk effects are not ranked relative to each other. In terms of capacity the gravity system was dimensioned for almost twice the flow compared to the pressure sewer systems, which gave the pressure sewer system a more adusted capacity. The result indicated that the pressure sewer system is favorable in densely built flexible areas.

Denna uppsats beskriver skillnader i förvärvskalkyler och hur olikheter i värdering därigenom uppkommer. Anledningen är att riskkapitalbolag verksamma inom private equity tycks vinna budstrider mot strategiska köpare, vilka har för avsikt att förvärva bolag för att skapa synergieffekter. Detta tycks ologiskt då riskkapitalbolagen snarare borde värdera förvärven lägre, till följd av att de inte kan inräkna synergieffekter. Studien utgår ifrån en jämförelse av ett riskkapitalbolag och en strategisk köpare, båda aktiva i Sverige. Vi undersöker deras värderingsmetodik och inställning till förvärvsfinansiering, samt påverkan av företagens verksamhetsinriktning. Riskkapitalbolaget har enligt våra resultat en flexibel kalkyl där de, i motsats till den strategiska köparen, värderar förvärvet enskilt samt vid värderingen koncentrerar sig på dess avkastning. Detta beror på att avkastningen uppnås när riskkapitalbolaget säljer vidare bolaget och att de som investerar i riskkapitalbolagets fonder praktiskt taget endast kan erhålla avkastning när en fond upplöses. Den strategiska köparen måste däremot ta hänsyn till fler faktorer, till följd av att förvärvet när det integreras i verksamheten påverkar koncernen. Dess investerare förväntar sig dessutom löpande effektiv avkastning. Riskkapitalbolagets flexibilitet beror huvudsakligen, enligt vår argumentation, på att de värderar förvärvet enskilt och inte avser integrera det i en koncern. Således pekar denna studie på att en möjlig förklaring till att riskkapitalbolag bjuder över strategiska köpare är att de ges större frihet av sina kapitalägare.


This thesis describes differences methods of calculating the value of an aquisition and how these lead to differences in valuation of the target. The background to the study is that private equity-groups have won bidding contests against strategic buyers, who can include synergies in the calculation. This seems illogical, as the private equity-group should value the aquisition lower due to lack of synergies. The main element of the study is a comparison of two swedish players; a private equity-fund and a strategic buyer. We focus the examination to the approaches to valuation, financing and to a certain extent, their operations. We have found that the private equity-fund, in contrast to the strategic buyer, has a more flexible calculation in which they isolate the aquisition and base the calculation upon a fixed rate of return. This approach is used because the private equity-group recieves their payoff when the company they aquire is sold on to another buyer, and because their investors only profits when the fund is dispersed. The strategic buyer, on the other hand, must consider how the aquisition affect the entire group and the fact that their investors require constant effective returns. We argue that the private equity-group can use the flexible approach because they don´t intend to integrate the aquisition. Thus, the study indicates that a possible explanation to why private equity-groups can outbid strategic buyers is because of their freedom in fund management.

Abstract:
The aim of the study was to examine the news coverage surrounding Stockholm City Theatre’s former CEO Benny Fredriksson during the metoo-movement, from the time of the accusations against him until a time after his death. The questions examined were: How is Benny Fredriksson represented at the time of the publishing of the accusations and at the time of his death? How are the anonymous witnesses and the journalism represented? How does the representation of victims and perpetrators change after the death of Benny Fredriksson? What are the differences and similarities in the reporting of Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter? To analyze this, we made a discourse analysis of 12 articles from Aftonbladet and 13 articles from Dagens Nyheter. The results showed that the roles of all the characters change during the coverage. At the time of the publishing of the accusations, Benny Fredriksson is represented as an evil dictator that harasses his employees at Stockholm City Theatre. After his death, Benny Fredriksson is represented as a victim of circumstances, helpless and full of anxiety. At first, the witnesses are represented as scared, helpless victims. At the end of the coverage the representation has changed, and the victims are instead represented as perpetrators that are accused of lying. The journalism goes from being represented as investigative journalism to being represented as a media hunt that killed Benny Fredriksson. Overall, Aftonbladet is more defending of the witnesses and the journalism while Dagens Nyheter is more defending of Benny Fredriksson. The study shows that a death can affect the news coverage and consequently how the characters are represented.

Abstract:
Syftet med denna uppsats har varit att se på hur och om gestaltningen kring Benny Fredriksson har förändrats i samband med #metoo. Det som undersökts är Sveriges fyra största tidningar och deras artiklar från december 2017 till november 2018. 
Resultatet i denna studie visar på att det fanns en skillnad bland det fyra största tidningarna i deras gestaltningen av Benny Fredriksson före och efter hans självmord. Innan Benny Fredrikssons död vinklade tidningarna på hans hårda ledarstil etc. Men efter hans död skrev tidningarna om hans klassresa och hur mycket gott han har medfört till kulturhuset stadsteatern. Inställningen blev mer neutral och positiv efter dödsfallet.

Abstract:
Syftet med denna uppsats är att, genom en hermeneutisk och komparativ närläsning av Marianne Fredrikssons roman Enligt Maria Magdalena och Lukasevangeliet, undersöka hur Fredriksson transformerat Jesu liv och gärning från den bibliska berättelsen till romanen, samt vad som händer med historien när en kvinna får återberätta den. Materialet analyseras med hjälp av Gerard Genettes narratologiska begreppsapparat och utifrån ett intersektionellt perspektiv. Resultatet tolkas sedan genuskritiskt utifrån Yvonne Hirdmans teori om det ahistoriska genuskontraktet. Slutligen diskuteras studiens relevans för och i den svenska skolan. Studien visar att Fredriksson aldrig ämnat skriva en roman om Jesu liv och gärning, utan snarare om Marias liv och Jesu gärning. Marias version av ”allt det stora som hände” präglas av ett intersektionellt förhållningssätt, både när det kommer till hennes egna och Jesus värderingar, som sträcker sig långt utöver normen för den aktuella tiden. Studien visar också att Maria och Jesus möter stora svårigheter i sina ambitioner att motverka sin tids och sitt samhälles genuskontrakt, och att det finns gott om inflytelserika personer i deras närhet som ämnar upprätthålla det. Personer som senare spred den kristna läran.

Bakgrund: Att alla tillgångar såväl finansiella som verkliga har ett värde är alla investerare ense om. För att bli en framgångsrik investerare gäller det att inte enbart kunna förstå grunden till en tillgångs värde, utan även det som förväntas skapa värde i framtiden. Ur detta resonemang har teorier om reala optioner framkommit för att visa på värden som företag kan tänkas inneha till följd av exempelvis olika framtida handlingsalternativ.

Syfte: Denna uppsats syftar till att begreppsmässigt utreda innebörden av reala optioner och med utgångspunkt från empiri och teori utvärdera synsättet/teorin.

Genomförande: Uppsatsen baseras på de reala optionsteorierna. Dessa tar sin utgångspunkt i finansiell optionsteori. Uppsatsen behandlar också en värdering av reala optioner på ett företag verksamt inom läkemedelsforskning.

Resultat: Uppsatsen visar på att reala optioner i hög grad kan existera i företag. Under rätt förutsättningar kan dessa uppbringa ett högt värde. Vid bedömningar av projekt kan de reala optionerna rättfärdiga en investering som i en traditionell värderingbedömning visar sig olönsam. Därmed kan det vara poängfullt att i ett strategiskt perspektiv ha de reala optionerna i åtanke.

Abstract:
This short chapter focuses on some of the innovations and attendant new modes of engaging in the pilgrimage system. Coastal multimodal pilgrimages offer alternative and innovative forms of pilgrimage in the Norwegian pilgrimage system. This form of pilgrimage was recently reconstructed in a mode that combines historical coastal sites with contemporary multimodal transport. A recent form of activist pilgrimage features ecumenical church communities expressing pilgrimage concern for climate action in the run-up to the Paris Agreement negotiations and thereafter. Subsequently, artists in the Diocese of Borg began building support to create and build a new interreligious site for climate pilgrims, the Cathedral of Hope in Fredrikstad, constructed as a movable, floating barge that draws people from various backgrounds to foster respect for the ocean in the fight against ocean plastics.

This story could begin with a fictional horse named Velvet, or perhaps behind the keyboards in a smoky bar in Halmstad, and it might have had a very different ending were it not for the unlikely excursion of a few medicinal chemists to the exotic southern part of the periodic table into the realm of the Lanthanoids. One or two generations of movie aficionados and the celebrity-hungry populace were upset, intrigued, or just plain nosey when another chapter in what seemed to be the never-ending story of Elizabeth Taylor, last of the great Hollywood divas, was revealed in February 1997. Dame Elizabeth had been diagnosed with a brain tumour just before her 65th birthday and was due for an operation in a few weeks. As it turned out, this non-malignant tumour, which was easily removed by surgery, was probably the least of her medical problems, but when singer Marie Fredriksson fainted in her home in 2002 and the causes were revealed to be a potentially deadly cancer tumour, the situation was radically different. The fate of the 44-year-old, half of the immensely successful pop duo Roxette, affected a different generation to those who had been following the career of Elizabeth Taylor since the 1940s, and was also deeply unsettling since the victim was a woman in the prime of her life with young children. Brain tumours are difficult to deal with—you cannot just break open the skull and poke around until you find them, there far too many sensitive connections and devices that may be broken. Their precise location is a key issue, and for that you need to look inside the head without opening it. The most powerful method is what scientists call Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging, known to the public simply as MRI as the little word ‘nuclear’ may have associations that would be unhelpful in situations in which calm and composure may be necessary, both for the patient and relatives. Looking inside human bodies has been of tremendous importance for medicine, but has also meant business opportunities, both for the unscrupulous and the upstanding.

Abstract:
In order to reduce the production of green house gases, the combustion of biomass has been gaining importance in electricity generation. Especially the direct combustion of biomass in gas turbines of a few MW output would offer a very attractive option because of low investment costs and high operational flexibility. Therefore, since 1991 the Institute of Thermal Turbomachines and Powerplants at the Vienna University of Technology has been working on realising a wood particle fired gas turbine with direct combustion. With reference to earlier studies (c.f. Hamrick (1991), Fredriksson and Kallner (1993)), it had been concluded that the design and the operating characteristics of the fuel feed system would strongly influence the combustion and so would be a very important part of the whole facility. Following an overview of the planned gas turbine test facility including the combustion chamber and the recently installed pneumatic fuel feed system, the paper will deal with three basic requirements of fuel feeding in the case of a directly fired gas turbine: feeding against back pressure, continuous fuel flow rate and a low conveying air ratio, which is the ratio of fuel conveying air to total combustion air of the combustion chamber. While the first two requirements, i.e. feeding against back pressure and continuous feeding, are briefly considered, the minimisation of the conveying air ratio is discussed in detail. For instance, important parameters affecting the conveying air ratio are fuel moisture, combustion air ratio and, in particular, techniques. Following theoretical estimation of the conveying air ratio, results of fuel feeding measurements are presented and conclusions drawn with respect to system integration.
