Zusammenfassung:Im Gegensatz zu Rache und Vergeltung ist Vergebung als zentrale Bewältigungsstrategie interpersonaler Konflikte bislang nicht zum Gegenstand der soziologischen Forschung geworden. Auf der Grundlage einer qualitativen Fallstudie widmet sich der vorliegende Beitrag daher der Frage, welche sozialen Bedeutungsdimensionen für die Vergebung nicht justiziabler Vergehen konstitutiv sind. La empatía ha sido foco de discusión en los círculos antipositivistas de la academia alemana de comienzos del siglo pasado, especialmente dentro del movimiento fenomenológico. El presente trabajo se concentra en el debate en torno a esta problemática que Alfred Schütz sostiene con Max Scheler en Der sinnhafte Aufbau der sozialen Welt. En el primer apartado se bosquejan los lineamientos principales de la teoría scheleriana de la Fremdwahrnehmung (percepción del otro), y en el segundo, se exponen las críticas que Schütz le realiza a la misma sustentado en desarrollos teóricos de Edmund Husserl.

Ausgehend von der Frage, unter welchen Bedingungen Fremdverstehen überhaupt möglich ist, zeigt der Beitrag anhand von Material aus der Forschung in Pflegepraxis, Pflegeausbildung und Pflegewissenschaft kollektive Deutungsmuster auf, denen binäre Codierungen wie «Natur – Kultur», «Körper – Geist», «weiblich – männlich», «fremd – vertraut», «ausländisch – einheimisch», «ihr – wir», «krank – gesund», «schwarze Menschen – weiße Menschen» usw. zugrunde liegen. Diese und die Wertungen, die sie zum Ausdruck bringen, sind soziale Konstruktionen in einem konkreten historischen und kulturellen Kontext.
