As archival scholarship on National Socialism moved under way during the later 1960s, study of the Right's broader intellectual history relied on a small number of then canonical works—by Klemens von Klemperer (1957), Otto E. Schüddekopf (1960), Fritz Stern (1961), Hans-Joachim Schwierskott (1962), and Kurt Sontheimer (1962), shadowed by Armin Mohler's Die konservative Revolution in Deutschland 1918–1932. The article contains deliberations on the subject of adult learning as a result of breaking points in people’s lives. It is based on Fritz Schütze and Gerhard Riemann’s concept of the trajectory, trying to show the educational potential of critical life events. The paper constitutes an illustration about learning and biography. The analysis concerns an individual who experienced domestic violence, was separated from her family of origin by being placed in a care and educational institution, whose life was additionally complicated by teenage pregnancy and motherhood. Sulfa drugs or sulfonamides were introduced in 1935 by the German physician Gerhard Domagk (1895-1964). Domagk worked closely with two chemists, Fritz Mietzsch and Josef Klarer. They worked together on compounds related to synthetic dyes, testing their effects on infectious diseases. Their concerted work eventually led to the discovery of Prontosil (sulfamidochrysoidine), the first sulfa drug that showed an incredible antibacterial effect on diseased laboratory mice. Soon after the introduction of sulfonamides, penicillin was discovered and hailed as a more effective and a safer alternative. T

Abstract Most of the chemical reactions used to produce the molecules and materials that our societies need—for example, in the petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, the synthesis of plastics and other materials, and the production of foods and drinks—make use of catalysts. These speed up the rate at which atoms and molecules rearrange themselves into new forms, and provide a degree of control over the shape and form of those rearrangements. Catalysts let us drive a chemical reaction in a selected direction, in preference to others that could occur. In this way they turn chemistry from

Wir besannen uns auf die Gründergeneration und stiessen, wen wunderts, auf das Dreiergespann Goldy Parin-Matthèy, Paul Parin und Fritz Morgenthaler, welches die Ethnopsychoanalyse entwickelte.
