Full textThis study involves intersectionality, gender and literary reception. I wanted to find out if secondary school pupils of the 2010s can descry th gender and power structures in Swedish literature of the 1880s and se how the reason about it. The investigation took place in a ninth grade during three lessons. It was designed to resemble the reading literacy part of the national tests in Swedish. The texts used were excerpts from August Strindberg's Miss Julie and Victoria Benedictsson's Fru Marianne. The pupils who participated in the investigation uncovered the traditional gender and power structures. The investigation shows though that girls and boys express themselves differently about the structures the find. The girls express themselves more critically while the boys are more accepting in their reasoning.

Full textThis study outlines the competitive narratives of the 1912-1913 Balkan wars inside the French media landscape (national liberation/unification wars, new crusade, just war, versus illegitimate conquest war, new colonialist expedition, pacifist settlement versus militarist rhetoric, nationalist approaches versus federalist proposals). It is also a schematization essay of the different factors-parameters and their interactions, (personal affinities, ideological orientations, economical interests, geopolitical considerations, media coverage, representation of the Self and the Other, the Here and Elsewhere, the Past, the Present and the Future) intervening in one’s conflict perception on behalf of a phenomenally external society to its unfolding. It also informs us about journalistic practices and the media’s public tastes stretching the rising importance of war reporters and the demand for a sensational, direct and omniscient news coverage. It also explores the place of Balkan people, Balkans’ history and geography, in the imagination of French Belle Époque, as well as the way Balkan wars had been invited within French political, economical and socio-cultural life at the eve of the Great War. Finally, it questions the role of belligerents’ propagandas in the newspapers’ transformation at a media and representational battlefield between the actors directly concerned by the conflict and the external observers expressing themselves in French media, having as major stake the definition of a political and axiological European entity

Full textFrench conjugal law is undergoing profound changes and the singularity of marriage is gradually veiled. Rise of freedom, promotion of equality as well as redistribution of wills in family law (change of public order, affirmation of the autonomy of the will, development of the judge’s role) led to the legal emergence of common-law marriage and facilitated the PACS’ “matrimonialisation”. Last civilian reforms go even further, since they tend to consider the couple as a unique reference, regardless of its form. While many difficulties prevent the French legislator from creating a common status for couples, we cannot accept that such a status be implicitly used to provide similar effects to three distinct legal concepts. Differentiation is a legal requirement. Despite the partial transposition of the marital protection to the other kind of unions, marriage remains singular. It still has a particular nature (a solemn act-condition), a vocation for life, an ambitious conjugal object (common life supported by an extensive system of duties), and a real family impact (links with reproduction, parentage, parental authority and legal protection of family). Civil marriage concept is also underpinned by a unity principle, which leads to the rejection of "gay marriage" as long as it will be maintained. The invocation of a neutrality principle does not allow the legislator to withdraw from conjugal law by letting it develop erratically. This situation cannot persist: it is imperative that legal consistency be maintained i. E. A correspondence between the types of commitments and their effects. Moreover, the uniqueness of marriage and its legal benefits for spouses, children and family, may justify that this status be encouraged

Full textMan has known various religious systems that he used to organize his environment : starting with the Sun god to monotheistic religions. Religious laws have been used as social rules. Today, many societies adopt or are inspired from a laisictic system using the following formula : separate the sacred from the profane. However, in some societies, religions still dominate while still inspiring social laws. Lebanon, a multiconfessional country in the Middle-East, could be a perfect exemple : 18 religions denominations live on the same lebanese soil. Each community manages its own business of which the management of matrimonal affairs. In consequence, mixed interreligious marriage becomes a complex reality. The mixed couple bears social and family pressure that may weigh heavily on their private life. Thus, they try to find nowadays their own identity strategie in order to ensure their continuity in a better manner. And if this couple "unidentical to all others" became a link and a place for priviliged discussions in order to discover the other and to move on towards a more intercultural society

Full textThe first part defines the historic framework of the research. The second part is a study of the restrictions that bear on the choice of the wife or husband. The aim is to find the reasons which motivate the young to marry. The study of family relations, of paternal authority, of canonical restraints, of social pression of youth rules and of the reviews of lawsuit about broken promises, allows to separate official reasons and real reasons ; and to mesure the freedom given to everyone to take a personal choice. The third part takes an interest to conjugal failures. Requests for annulment and separation ; complaints about adultery ; murder of the spouse, are various aspects of the bad understanding between married couples. This bad understanding is a public affair when the behaviour of the faulty spouse becomes scandalous for the parish. Adulteries, concubinages are denounced to the justice that tries, often in vain, to put it in order. The scandal is often caused by an illegitimate birth. These bastards are rejected by everybody. The fathers, prosecuted for affiliation deny their responsability ; the country community tries to remove the unmarried mothers who are financial charge for the parish. The mothers, alone and dishonoured become often guilty of infanticide or of neglecting their children. The circonstances of these offences show the great distress of the concerned female population

Full textHousing is one of the basic conditions of the family life. In Vietnam, in these last years, the access of each family to the housing becomes difficult because of the high price of the real estate, while morality and custom are insufficient for the resolution of the family disputes in this fields. Consequently, the legal rules must constitute a new regulation towards the housing of the family. Nevertheless, in Vietnamese law, there has not been a notion of the housing of the family yet. Taking into account the present context, this study tries to establish a concept of family housing in Vietnamese law, which attaches to the current evolution of the family itself. The housing of the family will thus be protected in all family unions notwithstanding the couple form, in all family relationships, at all periods of family life, but with, obviously, different measures according to the persons and situations in question. Such a concept will allow, in a systematic way, to determine the respectful place of housing in the family life and the legal statute of the family housing, those that will contribute all to consolidate the attachment of the members of the family. In addition, this critical and comparative study highlights convergences and divergences between the Vietnamese law and foreign legal systems, in particular France’s one. Acquired knowledge is completely useful for the legislative and judicial activities in Vietnam, in the research of best protections for the family, of which those in favour of the housing of the family
