Fuchs’ endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) is a bilateral disease of the cornea caused by gradual loss of corneal endothelial cells. Late-onset FECD is strongly associated with the CTG18.1 trinucleotide repeat expansion in the Transcription Factor 4 gene (TCF4), which forms RNA nuclear foci in corneal endothelial cells. To date, 46 RefSeq transcripts of TCF4 are annotated by the National Center of Biotechnology information (NCBI), however the effect of the CTG18.1 expansion on expression of alternative TCF4 transcripts is not completely understood. During severe heat shock, which known to interrupt both splicing of RNA transcripts and nucleocytoplasmic transport, it is to be expected that the substructure of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNP) is altered in some way. Recently, we have shown that such a stress actually induces rapid alterations at the level of individual proteins (Lutz, Y., M. Jacob, and J.-P. Fuchs. 1988 Exp. Cell Res. 175:109-124). Here we report further investigations on two related 72.5-74-kD hnRNP proteins whose behavior is also rapidly modified by a heat shock at 45 degrees C, whereas no effect is obser

Ceralasertib has demonstrated encouraging clinical benefits in patients with non-small cell lung cancer who were resistant to PD1/PDL1 treatment. Using different pre-clinical mouse tumor models, we found that antitumor effect of ceralasertib was dependent on CD8 T cells. In fact, depletion of CD8 cells abrogated therapeutic effect of the ATRi. This information is crucial for any electrochemical applications in which platinum is used as a catalyst as it allows its more economical utilization. For instance, if excursions to destructive higher anodic potentials are avoided in proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFCs) cathodes, significantly lower platinum amounts can be used, still providing the required long-term operation.
