Then, the numerical simulations of the one-link robot arm's dynamic response for four-division microstep and full-step drives have been carried out, and it is confirmed theoretically that the amplitudes of the vibrating torque of the stepping motor for the microstep drive are consider

A driving simulator study investigated the effect of automation of the driving task on performance under fatiguing driving conditions. During both drives, three perturbing events occurred at early, intermediate, and late phases in the drives: in the automated drive, a failure in automation caused the vehicle to drift toward the edge of the road; in the manual drive, wind gusts resulted in the vehic

The variations in motor parameters affect motor output and control parameters resulting in degraded drive performance. Abstract:
As efforts to drive down power sector carbon emissions focus more on gas plants, the fossil fuel industry and utilities with a vested interest have increasingly offered three potential approaches in response: hydrogen cofiring, carbon capture, and use of biomethane. Each has the potential to reduce carbon emissions—yet each is also complicated by climate implications of other steps in the process, threatening to undermine overall climate contributions. Also, each is premised on the full, ongoing use of gas plants—meaning the perpetuation of existing environmental, health, and social inequities

Abstract:
"The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the ensuing policy responses disrupted how consumers in the United States acquired food away from home, and little is known about how they continued to access these goods. This report summarizes national-level trends in dollars U.S. consumers spent from December 2019-February 2020 through April-June 2022 at quick- and full-service restaurants by service mode (on-premise, drive-thru, delivery, and carry-out) and acquisition and ordering method. Results show that while on-premises (eating inside a restaurant) spending fell at quick- and full-service resta

Abstract:
This study conducted an evaluation of high-mast roadway lighting, which included a review of Illinois Department of Transportation’s high-mast lighting specification and a field experiment. The lighting specification was reviewed for potential cost-saving measures. Recommended changes included the use of an external drive mechanism, a design-by-application mounting ring, and using the industry standard handhole design. The field experiment consisted of two human factors evaluations. In one evaluation, participants were driven along I-57 through five interchanges with various lighting designs a

Abstract:
The SMILE definition study report describes a novel self-standing mission dedicated to observing solar wind-magnetosphere coupling via simultaneous in situ solar wind/magnetosheath plasma and magnetic field measurements, X-Ray images of the magnetosheath and magnetic cusps, and UV images of global auroral distributions defining system-level consequences. The Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer (SMILE) will complement all solar, solar wind and in situ magnetospheric observations, including both space- and ground-based observatories, to enable the first-ever observations of the ful

Abstract:
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Thousands die or are injured each year in automobile crashes. Reducing the number of these tragedies requires reframing our approach to vehicle- and human-based transportation mobility and depends on whether the mobility industry and individual human drivers take a more aggressive approach to saving lives and preventing injuries. Bringing automated driving systems technologies into the advanced driver assist systems (ADAS) and connected vehicle space will help humans drive more safely and better prepare us for automated
