Abstract:
Background: Sexual health knowledge (SHK) is very crucial as the world is facing HIV/AIDS tragedy, increased cases of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unsafe abortions among adolescents. It is obvious that knowledge is an important prevention factor for any disease. Objectives: The study was conducted to assess knowledge and attitude on sexual health among secondary school students in Morogoro Municipality. Specifically the study (I: (i) examined students’ knowledge and attitude on sexual transmitted infections, (ii) analyzed student's awareness on early pregnancy prevention, and; (iii) determined students’ knowledge on issues related to puberty. Methods: The study involved 75 respondents from five secondary schools and 13 key informants through purposive sampling and simple random sampling techniques. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) ver.12.Results: Findings revealed that 79.8% of the respondents had knowledge on sexually transmitted infections, 86.5% were aware ofmethods of controlling early pregnancies; 83.9% have never used protective gears during sexual intercourses, and 54.7% did not understand a menstruation cycle. Conclusion: The study recommended for provision of sexual health knowledge to students to reduce incidences of early pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections; likewise on the need to use protective gears during sexual intercourses. Knowledge concerning sexual health is vital for all particularly for adolescents, as they are vulnerable to adopt negative behaviors if not guided properly and at the right age.

Abstract:
Relation extraction (RE) is an essential task in natural language processing. Given a context, RE aims to classify an entity-mention pair into a set of pre-defined relations. In the biomedical field, building an efficient and accurate RE system is critical for the construction of a domain knowledge base to support upper-level applications. Recent advances have witnessed a focus shift from sentence to document-level RE problems, which are more challenging due to the need for inter- and intra-sentence semantic reasoning. This type of distant dependency is difficult to understand and capture for a learning algorithm. To address the challenge, prior efforts either attempted to improve the cross sentence text representation or infuse domain or local knowledge into the model. Both strategies demonstrated efficacy on various datasets. In this paper, a keyword-attentive knowledge infusion strategy is proposed and integrated into BioBERT. A domain keyword collection mechanism is developed to discover the most relation-suggestive word tokens for bio-entities in a given context. By manipulating the attention masks, the model can be guided to focus on the semantic interaction between bio-entities linked by the keywords. We validated the proposed method on the Biocreative V Chemical Disease Relation dataset with an F1 of 75.6%, outperforming the state-of-the-art by 5.6%.

Abstract:
A review is presented on fifty years of research on crystallization in fluidized bed reactors (FBRs). FBRs are suitable for recovery of slightly soluble compounds from aqueous solutions, as it yields large, millimeter sized particles, which are suitable for reuse and permits low liquid residence times in the timescale of minutes. Full-scale applications for water softening have been applied since the 1980s, and since then, new applications have been developed or are in development for recovery of phosphorus, magnesium, fluoride, metals, sulfate, and boron. Process integration with membrane, adsorption, and biological processes have led to improved processes and environmental indicators. Recently, novel FBR concepts have been proposed, such as the aerated FBR for chemical-free precipitation of calcium carbonate, the seedless FBR to yield pure particulate products, a circulating FBR for economic recovery and extended use of seeds, as well as coupled FBRs for separation of chiral compounds and FBRs in precipitation with supercritical fluids. Advances are reported in the understanding of elementary phenomena in FBRs and on mathematical models for fluid dynamics, precipitation kinetics, and FBR systems. Their role is highlighted for process understanding, optimization and control at bench to full-scale. Future challenges are discussed.

Abstract:
The paper offers a general foundation for the currently fragmented economic studies on knowledge. We argue that such a foundation can be found in the frequently ignored phenomenon of knowledge encapsulation, coined by Harold Demsetz. Knowledge encapsulation refers to a situation under which economic agents are incentivized to compress the costly full knowledge it into incomplete knowledge algorithms. To prove the potential of placing such a phenomenon at the core of a general theory of knowledge, we identify the full knowledge elements and analyze the cost minimizing effects that encapsulation has on them. We then study a wide spectrum of knowledge encapsulation mechanisms, from instructions and superstitions to institutions and outsourcing. We demonstrate that each of these mechanisms can substantially decrease the full knowledge costs without causing a corresponding increase in costs of using incomplete knowledge. These results confirm the universality and the broad scope of knowledge encapsulation phenomenon and allow us to tentatively recommend its application in the general economic theory of knowledge. We further note that the Demsetzian approach may re-orientate the focus of knowledge studies in economics from the process of knowledge creation to its transfer.

Abstract:
The study examined the effect of range of a confidence scale on consumer knowledge calibration, specifically whether a restricted range scale (25%–100%) leads to difference in calibration compared to a full range scale (0%–100%), for multiple-choice questions. A quasi-experimental study using student participants ( N = 434) was employed. Data were collected from two samples; in the first sample ( N = 167) a full range confidence scale was used, and in the second sample ( N = 267) a restricted range scale was used. No differences were found between the two scales on knowledge calibration. Results from studies of knowledge calibration employing restricted range and full range confidence scales are thus comparable.

Abstract:
A telic virtue-theoretic approach to gnoseology (to the theory of knowledge) is developed. Two new concepts are introduced: the concept of default assumptions, and the concept of secure knowledge full well. A default assumption for a given domain of human performance is an assumption that agents in that domain can make with no negligence or recklessness as they perform in the domain. Knowledge full well is judgment or representation (alethic affirmation, whether judgmental or just telically, functionally representational) that attains success (truth) aptly, and whose aptness is also attained aptly. However, secure knowledge full well requires in addition that not easily might the thinker have lacked the pertinent SSS profiles that account for the aptness and full aptness of their success. The aim of the paper is to explain how those two new concepts help explain the pertinent epistemic data concerning varieties of knowledge and epistemically rational belief. These concepts enable a virtue epistemology that more fully attains that explanatory objective.

Abstract:
Differently from manufacturing operations, which have a combination of tangible and intangible resources, services are characterized by intensive competencies and knowledge. Several services intensive organizations present a model called multi sites. In this model, the service provider company has several work teams, called in this work full service sites, installed full time at client sites. The challenge for these organizations is to manage the knowledge acquired in these various sites in order not to lose the knowledge created from the improvement, problem solving and innovations implemented in the processes of customer. Thus, this paper aims to analyze the stages that constitute the knowledge management process in the multi-sites service provider company context. The research results point to a model based on joint working between sites and full service center for excellence. The latter's mission is to identify, assess, store and distribute knowledge among sites, acting as a department that centralizes the knowledge management process.

Abstract:
The full life cycle of as large and complex a product as a ship consists of feasibility and requirements analysis from the design and production stages, through maintenance, upgrading, decommissioning, and demolition. Many design tasks need to be informed by the perspective of what will be needed over the ship's entire lifetime. The building of a ship is a very complicated process with many concurrently running activities. Given the complexity and enormity of shipbuilding projects, effective management, knowledge application, and strategy implementation to promote the value of a shipyard are important issues. Due to rapid development in information technology and the internet, many shipyards have already applied information systems to increase profits and improve their manufacturing methods. Knowledge management will also be easily accomplished by means of information technology. New technology must enable the prototyping of complex multimodel manufacturing systems to coordinate the design efforts of the multidisciplinary teams required to design manufacturing systems. In this paper, we discuss the combination of collaborative management methods with the advantages of the internet, the building up of a virtual knowledge-sharing environment in the construction process, the use of XML standard for storing full specification data, and how to proceed with such knowledge management activities. Technology can also enable the systematic integration of new design tools to easily upgrade new design domains and methodologies. Internet technologies and collaboration management together can increase the speed of knowledge sharing, allowing workers to get the right information at the right time.

Abstract:
Underlay cognitive radios (UCRs) allow a secondary user to enter a primary user's spectrum through intelligent utilization of multiuser channel quality information (CQI) and sharing of codebook. The aim of this work is to study two-user Gaussian UCR systems by assuming the full or partial knowledge of multiuser CQI. Key contribution of this work is motivated by the fact that the full knowledge of multiuser CQI is not always available. We first establish a location-aided UCR model where the secondary user is assumed to have partial CQI about the secondary-transmitter to primary-receiver link as well as full CQI about the other links. Then, new UCR approaches are proposed and carefully analyzed in terms of the secondary user's achievable rate, denoted by C2, the capacity penalty to primary user, denoted by ΔC1, and capacity outage probability. Numerical examples are provided to visually compare the performance of UCRs with full knowledge of multiuser CQI and the proposed approaches with partial knowledge of multiuser CQI.

The study aims to compare the knowledge of and preference for the Islamic banking window and the full-fledged Islamic bank among Muslim customers. Data were collected from 1171 banking clients. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results show most Muslim customers do not know the difference between the full-fledged Islamic bank and the Islamic banking window. Yet, most Muslim customers favor the full-fledged Islamic bank to the Islamic windows since it is perceived to be more sharia compliant. Thus, the study theoretically contributes to Muslim banking behavior literature by providing empirical evidence on customer knowledge and preference in choosing an Islamic bank. Besides, the study provides knowledge to both the Islamic bank windows and full-fledged Islamic bank on the Muslim customers' understanding of both channels' availability.

Abstract:
Recent investigations of team training have demonstrated advantages of cross training team members in the positions of other team members. Such benefits have been attributed to increases in interpositional knowledge. In an attempt to reduce the time demands of cross training, a conceptual cross-training condition that targeted teamwork knowledge was compared to traditional full cross-training and two control conditions. Three-person teams were assigned to a training condition and participated in two synthetic helicopter missions. Outcomes, team process behaviors, team situation awareness, taskwork knowledge, and teamwork knowledge were measured. Results indicated weak support for the benefits of full cross-training on team performance, yet minimal support for conceptual cross-training. Further, teams cross-trained in the traditional manner acquired more teamwork and taskwork interpositional knowledge than teams in any other condition. Both types of interpositional knowledge were correlated with team performance.

Abstract:
Critics contend that Aristotelianism demands too much of the virtuous person in the way of knowledge to be credible. This general charge is usually directed against either of two of Aristotelianism’s apparent claims about the necessary conditions for the possession of a single virtue, namely that 1) one must know what all the other virtues require, and 2) one must also be the master of a preternatural range of technical/empirical knowledge. I argue that Aristotelianism does indeed have a very high standard when it comes to the knowledge necessary for the full possession of a virtue, in both of these respects. However, focus on the necessary conditions for full virtue tends to obscure an important fact: some kinds of knowledge are much more important to various virtues than others are. A proper appreciation of the significance of this fact will go a long way toward answering critics’ worries about Aristotelianism’s knowledge requirements.

Abstract:
This study explores the levels of COVID-19 knowledge, risk perception, and preventive behavior practice in Seoul, to determine whether knowledge and risk perception are significantly associated with the full adoption of preventive behaviors, for the delivery of a customized public campaign to Seoul’s citizens. A total of 3000 Seoul residents participated in this study through an online questionnaire survey. They had a mean score of 84.6 for COVID-19 knowledge (range: 0–100 points) and 4.2 (range: 1–7 points) for risk perception. Of the participants, 33.4% practiced full adoption of all three preventive behaviors: hand hygiene, wearing a face mask, and social distancing; wearing a face mask was practiced the most (81.0%). Women significantly adopted these three preventive behaviors more often compared with men. Both COVID-19 knowledge and risk perception were found to be significantly associated with the full adoption of preventive behaviors; however, this association differed by the type of preventive behavior. This indicates that city-level information on the levels of COVID-19 knowledge, risk perception, and preventive behaviors should be clearly and periodically communicated among public officers and healthcare professionals to continually raise the public’s awareness of the full adoption of non-pharmaceutical preventive behaviors.

Abstract:
SummaryThis paper aims at contributing to a sub-symbolic, feedback-based “theory of robotic grasping” where no full geometrical knowledge of the shape is assumed. We describe experimental results on grasping 2D generic shapes without traditional geometrical processing. Grasping algorithms are used in conjunction with a vision system and a robot manipulator with a three-fingered gripper is used to grasp several different shapes. The altorithms are run on the shape as it appears on the computer screen (i.e. directly from a vision system). Simulated gripper ringer with virtual sensors are configured and positioned on the screen whose inputs are controlled by moving their position relative to the image until an equilibrium is reached among the control systems involved.

Abstract:
Understanding the mechanisms that trigger behaviour change to overcome risky hygiene is critical to improving family health. Research in an integrated health promotion programme in 382 Community Health Clubs (CHCs) in three districts of Zimbabwe showed clearly the value members attached to gaining ‘knowledge’, which was their strongest motivation for joining CHCs. In these rural areas, where only 38% had completed primary school, randomly sampled CHCs ranked the ‘Need for Knowledge’ second highest after ‘Safety’. A survey of 880 CHC members showed that an average of 80% of CHC members who had ‘full knowledge of diarrhoea’, also practised ten recommended hygiene practices (P > 0.001), compared to 17% who had ‘some knowledge’, and 6% who had safe hygiene, but ‘no knowledge’. In the control group only 50% with ‘full knowledge’ of diarrhoea, also practised safe hygiene, 30% fewer than the CHCs. Therefore, thorough training is needed to ensure a critical mass have ‘full knowledge’. This justifies the CHC Model with 24 weekly sessions reinforcing key messages over a six month period. Positive peer pressure through shared knowledge, understanding and experience, combines to change group values ensuring that even uninformed individuals adopt safe hygiene practices through the adoption of a ‘Culture of Health’.

Abstract:
This paper presents a framework for the integrated use of formal knowledge engineering methods and data mining based knowledge discovery methods. Knowledge is a key enterprise asset, and organizations are adopting both knowledge engineering and knowledge discovery paradigms for better knowledge management and enhanced decision support capability. Although there exists a useful interdependence between these endeavors, not much effort has been focused on using the full potential of one for the other. This paper presents a framework for the integrated use of established formal knowledge engineering methods and knowledge discovery processes with the ultimate intent of better managing the enterprise knowledge life cycle. It provides a brief overview of the knowledge discovery processes, and introduces a class of formal knowledge engineering methods and the perceived role of these methods in supporting the integration between the two worlds of knowledge discovery and knowledge engineering.

Abstract:
Understanding of mothers about immunization is very necessary because with high knowledge about immunization, it is expected that mothers want to fully immunize their children and not be afraid or anxious. Objective To find out the level of knowledge and anxiety about the effects of immunization on the motivation of mothers to provide complete basic immunization in the UPTD area of Paleleh Health Center, Buol Regency. The design used in the study was cross sectional. Population is all mothers who have babies / toddlers. The sample size was 188 respondents using Purposive Sampling techniques. Independent variables of research are Knowledge and anxiety. The dependent variable is motivation. Data was collected using a questionnaire, then data were analyzed using the Spearman Rho test, with a significance level of α ≤ 0.05. The results showed that more than half of respondents had enough knowledge as many as 99 respondents (52.7%), had mild anxiety as many as 86 respondents (45.7%), had sufficient motivation as much as 82 respondents (43.6%). The results of the study with a <0.05 found that knowledge (p = 0,000) and anxiety (p = 0,000) on motivation with p <a, so it can be concluded that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected which means that there is a relationship between Knowledge and Anxiety About Immunization Effects Against the Motivation of Mothers Giving Complete Basic Immunization in the UPTD Working Area of Paleleh Health Center, Kab. The better motivation of the mother to do motivation can be influenced by good knowledge and the level of anxiety the mother has about immunization to be carried out

Abstract:
Teenage pregnancy is a major social problem in Kakamega County in Kenya that tends to have negative ramifications especially on the lives of young girls. Recent studies have documented school children lack the necessary skills to manage their sexual life due to the misconceptions they have about menstrual cycle despite having gone through Kenyan school science curriculum. This can be supported by worldwide reports that teachers can actually be one of the sources of such misconceptions in their learners. This study sought to assess teachers’ understanding of menstrual cycle in Navakholo sub-county, Kakamega County, Kenya. A case study design with a mixed-method approach was used in two secondary schools in Navakholo sub-County, Kakamega County Kenya. A mixed gender sample of 20 teachers aged 24 years and above, responded to a multiple choice questionnaire targeting the menstrual cycle concept. Four focus group discussions and 4 Key Informant Interviews were conducted. Three levels of understanding emerged in the data analysis, i.e., Full Comprehensive Basic, Full Comprehensive Intermediate and Full Comprehensive Understanding. There was a statistically significant relationship be full comprehensive understanding level and ones knowledge of menstrual cycle, (χ2=13.7620, p=0.003). Basic understanding was found to have no statistically significant effect on knowledge (t=-0.44, p=0.661) at the 5% level of significance. Intermediate understanding was found to have statistically significant effect on knowledge (t=-1.89, p=0.062) at the 10% level of significance. Full understanding had positive and statistically significant effect on knowledge (t=5.33, p=0.0000) at the 5% level of significance. As the understanding graduated from basic through intermediate to full comprehensive understanding, the fewer the number of respondents who achieved higher level of understanding. Full comprehensive understanding of the concept of menstrual cycle was not achieved by the majority meaning that teachers lack a high level understanding of the menstrual cycle concept.

Abstract:
The evaluation of medical practitioners’ knowledge levels of radiation and safety is essential for planning diagnostic procedures and treatment in radiation medicine. This study sought to identify levels of knowledge and the predictor variables influencing knowledge of medical practitioners on applications of radiation in medicine in Ghana. Online survey was conducted with Google Form consisting of 37-point questionnaire highlighting on physicians’ background information, professional experience, knowledge on radiation usage in medicine, radiation protection and safety. Evaluation of the data was performed by descriptive analysis using frequency distributions and percentages. Among 152 respondents who participated in the study, specialists and consultants made up a higher representation of 46.7%. Two-thirds (64.0%) of the respondents who had received refresher training in the application of radiation in medicine exhibited full knowledge in the field. Medical practitioners who had practiced between 21–25 years were also found to demonstrate full knowledge of the application of radiation in medicine, while 36.6% of those who had practiced for < 6 years demonstrated extensive knowledge. Majority of the medical practitioners, constituting 39.5%, exhibited full knowledge in medical radiation protection and safety. This level of knowledge was found higher than what was demonstrated for general and occupational radiation protection. With medical imaging forming a key component in the diagnosis of several medical conditions, education in the field of radiation usage and radiological protection and safety should be a subject of periodic training for medical practitioners regardless of their level of training or duration of practice
