Abstract:
Introduction. The relevance of the article is determined by the need to identify and describe the stylistic characteristics of the texts of folklore genres, as well as revealing the composition of the identified expressive means and figurative techniques of the Mari language. With a modern interest to the spiritual heritage of nations, the development of philological sciences, an analysis of the stylistic characteristics of the texts of Mari fairy tales can provide a more complete picture of the language and style of Mari folklore, which is an integral part of the system of functional styles of the Mari language. The article presents new data on the systemic nature of stylistic devices in the texts of folk tales. Materials and Methods. The empirical material is presented by 133 Mari folk fairy tales borrowed from various sources and considered from the stylistics within the framework of the theory of systems using a combination of general scientific (analysis and synthesis) and specific stylistic (semantic-stylistic, stylistic interpretation of the text) methods. Results and Discussion. The identified and described set of expressive and figurative means testifies to the wide variety of the components of folklore functional style, which is part of the system of styles of the Mari language. The algorithm for studying expressive means and figurative techniques in the texts of fairy tales presented in the article makes it possible to use the theoretical basis and methodological base in the study of texts of other folklore genres that belong not only to the Mari linguistic culture. Conclusion. The relevance and significance of the research is determined by the tasks set in it resulting in definition of new data on the systemic nature and components of the style of folk fairy tales. The main part of the system of stylistic devices is made up of expressive techniques of the phonological and syntactic levels of texts, supplemented by techniques of the morphological and lexical levels.

Abstract:
Psycholinguistics, as a science emerged from linguistics and psychology, uses psychological methods to study the linguistic realities of language. The development of a new scientific discipline entails the application of a new methodology for text analysis, which contributes to the discovery of completely new, unique data. At present, experimental methods are increasingly used in psycholinguistic studies. The research described in the presented article is of an experimental nature and is aimed at identifying the features of the semantic association perception in texts of different genre and stylistic affiliation. In the course of the analysis of the obtained material, presented by the texts of artistic, journalistic and colloquial functional styles in Russian and English, it was found that the lexemes of neutral semantic association are the most susceptible to adequate perception. The revealed distribution of recipient reactions is explicated by the specificity of linguistic units with negative and positive connotations.

Abstract:
The paper highlights and describes the characteristic linguistic and stylistic features of Milan Petrović's memoirs. The aim of the paper is to single out and describe the basic linguistic and stylistic features of the language by applying grammatical and linguistic criteria and methods. Given that it is a memoir, we tried to determine whether elements of a literary-artistic or scientific functional style prevail in the book. Eight memoir texts by this author are included in the analysis. The conducted analysis of Milan Petrović's style and language in his book suggests several important conclusions. His style is simple, the sentence is narrative, never structurally complicated, with a small number of clauses in its composition. It is an essayistic-scientific style, with many literary touches, with conscious literarization, carried out with the aim of achieving greater beauty of the language. In addition to all this, in the language of Milan Petrović we also find purely scientific linguistic features, such as decomposed predicates, the frequent use of adverbs, as well as the author's 'we', and many historical facts. As for the grammatical features, his language does not differ much from the modern Serbian language. Given that Milan Petrović lived and worked in the area of the Šumadija-Vojvodina dialect, which became the basis of the standard Serbian language, there are very few deviations from the norm in his language. On the other hand, the narration, as well as all the linguistic features underlying his memoirs, represent their most immanent characteristic. That is why we cannot view his memoirs exclusively as a scientific-historical text, but as a literary text, which also contains certain scientific elements.

Abstract:
The article examines the problem of role and place of intellectual expression in scientific discourse. The notion of ‘intellectual expression’, which has not been developed so far, is introduced into scientific analysis. Intellectual expression is regarded as a means of forming and expressing new scientific knowledge in a text. The sense-organizing, text-forming, and stylistic-verbal functions of intellectual expression are described. It is stated that intellectual expression serves as a marker of the peculiarities of the idiostyle of a text’s author. Idiostyle is understood as a specific way of meaning verbalization in academic works of a specific linguistic personality, as a result of which the discourse itself is characterized by a dominant way of organization. For the analysis of specific characteristics of idiostyle, the complex approach is suggested, which unites functional-stylistic and cognitive-axiological methods, making it possible to analyze the dynamics of sense forming, captured in the ‘verbal fabric’ of the text, as well as to interpret the role and place of language and speech units in these dynamics. The units of analysis are cognitive-evaluative actions and extended variative repetitions. The term-notion of intellectual expression is suggested; semantic, text-building, and stylistic-verbal functions of intellectual expression are discussed. It is concluded that M. N. Kozhina's idiostyle is imbued with a high degree of intellectual expression, which is predetermined by a large number of evaluative and cognitive actions and extended variative repetitions of different kinds and functions found in the text. The paper argues that the process of verbalization of new scientific knowledge in the text is carried out by means of cognitive evaluation as a deliberate choice by the author of a particular logical action, which is necessary, in the opinion of the scientist, in this particular fragment of presenting a scientific idea.

Abstract:
The article considers and summarizes the main groups of phraseology in view of their ability to create a stylistic effect in the texts of different functional styles of the German language/ Attention is focused on such types of phraseological inversions as phraseologies that have the feature of a group of words, which include idioms, double forms, and inversions that have the characteristics of sentences, which include proverbs, sayings, aphorisms, winged expressions, sentences and slogans. It is emphasized, that, mainly, phraseology serves in the stylistic arrangement of texts of certain functional styles to express the image-emotional assessment of objects and phenomena. An important aspect is the definition of stylistic functions of phraseology, as they depend on various factors. By areas of use, functional-colored phraseology (phraseology of scientific style, non-terminological phraseology, official-business phraseology) is distinguished. According to the functional style, type of text, stylistic color and other connotations, phraseology can have the following functions: 1) enhancement of clarity and emotionality; 2) expression of personal attitude; 3) strengthening pragmatic influence; 4) euphemistic function. Emotionally expressively colored phraseological units are widely used on oral and written speech, in all functional styles. Phraseology is an effective means of artistic representation. The ability of phraseological units to perform one or another pictorial function is based on their connotative meaning. Phraseologisms are characterized by great imagery, emotionality, expressiveness, stylistic color, potential ability to modify. All this contributes to the dynamism of phraseology, defines them a certain place in the texts of fiction. As a result of the processed material it was found, that neutral phraseology is used in different functional styles, and a group of expressive-phraseological units is used mainly in everyday speech, as well as in texts of fiction and non-fiction.

Abstract:
The article analyses some peculiarities in the style of a lecture in modern English. It has been found out that the most important stylistic characteristics include logical sequence, rigor of presentation, clarity, objectivity, monological nature of presentation, semantic capacity and some others. The contents of the lecture is oriented to the scientific community. In spite of the fact that the most part of the lecture is a monologue, the lecture genre has a dialogical character. The text of a lecture often contains citations which illustrate the points of view of different scientists. Functional and stylistic peculiarities of an academic substyle are reflected in the genre of a lecture, in particular, in the lexical, syntactic and grammar characteristics. The style of a lecturer can vary depending on the level of spokenness, which is expressed in the use of rhetorical questions and discourse markers. The author comes to the conclusion that a lecture is a peculiar genre which is created in the written form but which is presented to the audience in the oral or online form. A lecture genre is one of the basic university genres with a long history. There exist different styles of an academic lecture which are subject to changes depending on the academic discipline, personality of a lecturer, as well as modern communication technologies used by the lecturer. A lecture style is a complex notion which incorporates verbal, nonverbal and paraverbal components.

Abstract:
Introduction. From the functional-stylistic positions, the semantic structure of the scientific text is considered in the aspect of the expression of new knowledge in it. Results and discussion. Taking into account the extralinguistic conditionality of the diverse content of cognitive activity, a scientific text is defined as a system of subtexts. A subtext is a structural and semantic unit of a text that represents a certain aspect of an epistemic situation – ontological, methodological, axiological, communicative and pragmatic. The following types of subtexts are recorded in monographs and articles on various sciences: the new knowledge subtext, the old knowledge subtext, the methodological subtext, the evaluation subtext, the authorization subtext, the addressing subtext, and the peripheral subtext. The interaction of subtexts determines a special quality of the semantic structure of a scientific text – polytextuality. Polytextuality implies hierarchical relationships between subtexts. Two subtexts have the greatest communicative significance – the new knowledge subtext and the methodological subtext. It is these subtexts that represent the ontological content of the new knowledge, enclosed in the form of concepts, hypotheses, theorems, proofs, etc. Other subtexts form the epistemic context of the new knowledge. The subtext of new knowledge is the core of the semantic structure of a scientific text. The deployment of this subtext explicates the dynamics of scientific and cognitive activity of the author, represented by a sequence of stages of obtaining new knowledge. The cognitive stages include: problem situation, problem, idea or hypothesis, argument, conclusion. Due to the subtext of the new knowledge, the content of each of these stages receives a speech representation. In scientific communication has formed new knowledge stylistic standard, comprising the following composition units: problem or problem statement, characteristics of the studied object, a representation of the ideas or hypotheses, definition of concepts, reasoning or prove the hypothesis, explication of the results and conclusions. Variants of the deployment of the new knowledge subtext in academic texts on linguistics, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and philosophy are considered. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the compositional structure of the new knowledge subtext in the dissertation abstracts. The representation of new knowledge in this genre “mirrors” all stages of the author’s cognitive activity. Conclusion. Interpretation of the semantic structure of a scientific text as a polytextual structure with the dominant role of the subtext of new knowledge allows us to generalize the typical stylistic and speech organization of a scientific text.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the adaptation of proverbs and idioms of Russian origin in the Slovak and English versions of the comedy “Woe from Wit” by Alexander Griboyedov. The purpose of the study is the comparison of the Russian text to its translations into foreign languages alongside the stylistic characteristics of paremiological and phraseological units. The source material is the original Russian text “Gore ot uma”, published in 1987 by Publishing house “Sovetskii pisatel”, and its translations made in 1986 and 2017 in Slovak and English, respectively. The research methods include comparative and descriptive text analysis, as well as stylistic commentary and functional analysis. The article demonstrates that the translators most often convey the semantics of proverbs and idioms through descriptive and word-forword translation. This affects the aphorism and expressiveness of the expressions. However, it is worth noting that the translators tried to maintain the rhythmic organization of the text, despite the fact that such translation methods as equivalent or partial correspondence are not used. The study also reveals the one-time use of a “pseudo-proverb” translation in the English version. The theoretical basis of the article is inspired by the works of orientalist G. L. Permyakov, who was the first to introduce the concept of “paremiological minimum” into the scientific lexicon, and philologist A. V. Fedorov, who laid the foundations for the theory of literary translation in the USSR.

Abstract:
The article deals with some peculiarities of translation of phrasal verbs in International law documents, that combine several functional styles, in particular official, scientific and technical styles. The texts of such documents are characterized by certain lexical and syntactic features, a significant amount of terminology of various fields and methods of functioning. They are distinguished by a concise, meaningful and accurate presentation of information, a neutral tone of speech, the absence of expressive means, emphatic constructions, etc. The key requirement for translation of such types of texts is to preserve linguistic, stylistic, pragmatic characteristics of the original text and observe adequacy within the legal context. In the article, the authors analyse some peculiarities of translation of English phrasal verbs that can be used in different functional styles, but acquire specific meanings in the texts of International law. The text of “Association Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and Ukraine, of the other part” was chosen as the source for the study. The undertaken analysis has shown a wide range of phrasal verbs, which are used in the main meaning. The phrasal verbs set out, set up, provide for form the largest number of lexical units, typical for the official style, and, consequently have the largest number of contextual Ukrainian equivalents. Phrasal verbs characterized by brevity, expressiveness, polysemy, perform an important lexical function in the context of International law documents. The linguistic and stylistic peculiarities of International law documents require a unified approach when translating.

Abstract:
The article focuses on the necessity and appropriateness of scientific analysis of linguistic personality in mass communication as a separate subject of study, given the rapid development of mass media that produce a change in linguistic resource. In addition, the main approaches of researchers to the interpretation of the concept of "linguistic personality in media" were analyzed. An attempt was made to highlight the basic levels of communicative competence, characteristic features of the linguistic personality in media, taking into account the dominant tendencies of the development of mass communication sphere and the reorientation of the linguistic paradigm towards its intentional, communicative and functional component. In the scientific interpretation of the concept of "linguistic personality in media," the accentuation on multidimensional and polystructural dynamics of this concept, is indicative, which is characterized by the correlation of different analyzed parameters. The article focuses on representative criteria for highlighting a linguistic personality in media, attention is paid to cases where the linguistic personality is represented by both text publications and audio, video materials, and the syncretism of extra- and intralinguistic factors is important in the process of formation and functioning of the linguistic personality in media. One of the dominant categories for substantiating a linguistic personality in media is media discourse. Cases when media becomes a prism and a platform, where the linguistic personality becomes known and significant to the mass audience and when the linguistic personality is actually representative of the mass communication sphere were considered The idiocystology of the linguistic personality in media, the unique appeal and stylistic resource in speech, the normalization of linguistic characteristics make the texts and speeches of the linguistic personality in media significant because they have an impact on the society and are aimed at mass audience. On the example ofmedia texts of Yulia Mostova, a prominent linguistic personality in mass media, the editor-in-chief of the «Mirror of the Week» edition, linguistic and stylistic features, dominant linguistic markers (in particular, lexico-phraseological and syntactic features), their functional load were analyzed, which appropriate Yulia Mostova as a linguistic personality and make her texts creative and interesting for the recipients.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to a complex set of issues related to the understanding of the TEXT category in modern jurisprudence and practical activities of an expert linguist. According to the authors of the article, the text as a verbalized consciousness of an individual / a social group / people has integral features inherent in verbal communication of homo sapiens, such as internal coherence, logic, completeness, linguistically represented formal realization, etc. However, the text as an object of linguistic expertise is a complex communicative substance, formalized in words (written / graphic), sounds (oral), words and sounds (creolized). Therefore, the criteria for reference to the text are its semantic and grammatical connection, which are manifested in the systematic and consistent completion of linguistic communication. The characteristics of the text in the linguistic-expert analysis are correlated with the communicative sphere of functioning – mass media, fictional, official business, scientific, which is analyzed by the linguist-expert in the corresponding stylistic categories. Hence, linguists-experts analyze the communicative parameters of the text in terms of cohesion, coherence, semantic decoding, possibilities of perception by recipients, informativeness, hyper- and intertextuality, manipulativeness. The questions posed to the linguist-expert are specified by the specialist only when analyzing the proposed text, which provides for its professional separation from other similar verbalized communicative structures. The article pays special attention to the distinction between such concepts of legal linguistics as "linguistic expertise", "linguistic legal expertise", "judicial expertise", "linguistic expertise of a legal text" which are key in the professional work of a linguist-expert. Thus, the text, correlated with the linguistic consciousness of the author, appeals to the recipient, is determined in the systemic characteristics of a particular functional style and communicative situation.

Abstract:
The aim of the research is to clarify and differentiate the quintessential differences in packing products design as well as series and system lines, also to distinguish the differences between these two notions. The methodology of the research. The method of complex analysis is implemented in the following research. This method allows to determine and consider the whole set of indicators that influences the efficiency of professional tools of graphic design functioning as a particular system. Scientific novelty. The results of the research is to identify the differences between the series and the system lines of packaging products and the design task stipulated by these notions. It has been found that a series of packaging products represents a fairly rigidly defined system, in which form-shaping, compositional schemes and figurative-stylistic characteristics of the elements of graphic identification should be identical. Instead, the term "system line" indicates a greater variation in the form-shaping of packaging structures and compositional schemes of communication elements with packaging volumes interaction. However, there are more stringent requirements for color coding in the system lines and limited number of communicative elements, which are reduced to font blocks and graphic elements of TM identification. Conclusions. The tasks for the assortment range of packaging products design include the professional use of graphic design tools as a specific system. Important components of such a system that take on the communicative function are the form-shaping of packages, compositional schemes of interaction of modular-constructive and communicative elements of packing and packaging products, figurative-stylistic characteristics of graphic identification elements and color coding. The research shows the impact and significance of each of the structural components that are considered in detail by a complex analysis. The importance of the form-shaping of packaging products assortment line is separately highlighted and represented as a specific visual text, i.e., information that allows to trace the functional purpose of packaging and the existence of the common and distinctive features.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the peculiarities of translation scientific articles’ annotations with the help of freely redistributable software products, in particular Google Translate and Pereklad.online.ua which are the most popular in Ukraine. Universal characteristics for this type of texts, compositional structure and methods of their lexical and grammatical design, as well as the possibility of translating into English, both with the help of free software products and professional translators have been determined. It is established that the annotation accelerates the work with the text, as it includes the brief content of the text itself and helps to determine the further work with it. Thanks to the annotation, the reader will be familiar with the subject matter of the text, its relevance and the main idea. It has been found out that by creating the text of the annotation, the author of the scientific publication himself, in his own discretion, determines its relevance, novelty, and also the volume of cognitive information necessary in his opinion sufficient for the future reader of this scientific product. The scientific and technical vocabulary of the annotation serves for the most accurate description and explanation of certain facts, therefore nouns, adjectives and impersonal forms of the verb predominate in it, and the personal forms of the verb are more often used in the passive state. The annotation should be translated in English with the preservation of the relative equality of the content, semantic, stylistic and functional-communicative information contained in the original and the translation, at the same time a certain evidence, reasoning is required. Translation of annotations is a quite difficult long-term process, in the case of misunderstanding the content of the annotationor ignorance of scientific and technical terminology it may occur distortion of the content of the article. Scientific and technical translation does not tolerate the duality of the content and distortion of the terms used. The scientific style of the annotation has its own characteristics and the translation from Ukrainian into English requires the translator to correlate grammatical constructions and lexical material of one language to another, taking into account the features of the scientific style as a whole. It should be noted that for now the machine translation system is playing only a supporting role and allows to translate satisfactorily only simple syntactic and lexical constructions.

Abstract:
Objective. The objective of the article is to investigate the origin of the phenomenon of “discourse” in linguistics, to analyze the various approaches of domestic and foreign scholars in order to define this definition, to identify its main specific characteristics and to present author’s own interpretation of this complex communicative phenomenon. Methods. The main scientific results are obtained using a set of general scientific and special research methods, such as: analysis, systematization and generalization of scientific literature, induction, deduction (to identify approaches to understand the essence of discourse and its characteristics). Results. The definition of “discourse” presents significant difficulties due to the fact that this phenomenon is at the intersection of a number of scientific disciplines, such as linguistics, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, socio- and psycholinguistics and so on. However, due to the efforts of modern scientists in various fields of science, the theory of discourse is formed as an independent disciplinary field. The article considers the problem of complexity and versatility of the concept of “discourse” through the prism of various approaches to identify the features of each of them. The main trends in the use of the phenomenon of “discourse” in terms of systemic, formal and functional approaches are considered. The study assumes that in modern humanities research discourse is considered, on the one hand, as a coherent sequence of language units created by the speaker for the listener at a certain time, in a certain place, with a certain purpose, and on the other hand, as a complex communicative phenomenon, an oral speech action, taking into account the social context, which informs about the participants of communication and characterizes them, as well as the processes of production and perception of the message. Different approaches to understanding discourse are presented: communicative, structural-syntactic, social-pragmatic and structural-stylistic. The definition of “discourse” is studied in connection with such concepts as “speech” and “text”, their differences and similarities are stated. Different classifications of discourse types are analyzed. The author attempts to interpret such a terminological unit as “discourse” in the narrow and broad sense.

Abstract:
This article examines the peculiarities of modal-emotional connotations used in English-language texts in maritime documents, the functional and semantic characteristics of subjective modality units (epistemic, axiological, aletic and deontic) are studied. The results of the research based on the material of maritime-related documents showed that despite the fact that the main distinctive characteristics of the documents include the presence of factual (cognitive) information, the monosemantics of the used terms and distinct content of the text, the author’s personal attitude to the researched problem, his individual characteristics of speech and personality often appear in the texts of the documents. Moreover, the emotional and modal characteristics of the analyzed texts, their orientation, do not in any way interfere with the cognitive semantics of the text. Despite the fact that modal values are subject to the pragmatic task of the work, the goal, which is dedicated to one topic, and the clear structure of presenting the research results, the functional and semantic side of documentary texts is formed not only at the expense of the objective component, but at the expence of the subjective one too. That is why syntactic (parallel constructions emphatic word order, constructions with interjections and with the meaning of intellectual assessment) and morphological (perfect / imperfect verb forms), stylistic (epithets, comparisons) are widely used alongside with lexical means of expression. Some features of the content structure of the work are related to national or cultural peculiarities. An absolutely isomorphic feature of the compared scientific works is that the methods, techniques and manner of language communication is closely connected with the features of the person’s speech, his professional style and his individuality. Explicit presentation of modal meanings strengthens the emphasis on the importance of the introduced information

Abstract:
The article deals with tropes as linguistic and stylistic means, the main purpose of which is to achieve the appropriate expressive and figurative effect, realised in such categories as imagery, expressiveness, aesthetics of language. The modern linguistic reception of the tropic system of a literary text is of scientific interest in terms of studying the tropic means of language in the discursive and linguistic-cultural aspects. Such an approach involves the organisation of a literary text, its subsystems, structural characteristics of tropes, which form the figurative, emotional and evaluative features of poetic and prose works, and thus gives an idea of the aesthetic and cognitive epicentre of the human inner world. Obviously, understanding the structural, semantic, functional and stylistic parameters of the artistic language resources is the key to representing the worldview of contemporary Ukrainian authors whose works reflect the current preferences of the native speaker, the consumer of the literary product, which in the global dimension makes it possible to find out the aesthetic and cultural vectors of the development of society as a whole, the level of its artistic and aesthetic consciousness. In this aspect, language should be viewed not only as a communication tool, but also as a means of thought formation, intellectual and aesthetic development of the world. In modern discursive practices, in particular in literary discourse, special cognitive mechanisms and structures of human consciousness, as well as aesthetic tastes of the linguistic personality of the author and reader are interpreted through the prism of linguistic means. It has been found that the features of the individual and imaginative reality perception inevitably affect the actualisation of explicative and expressive means necessary for the author's intention to be realised as a linguisticization of social reception. The anthropocentricity of tropic means reveals the cognitive and pragmatic essence of language as a vector of cognition of the world picture, social interactions and dominants. The study of tropes through the prism of the cognitive intention of the speaker and the satisfaction of his/her aesthetic needs allows not only to form an idea of the artistic representation of knowledge about the world reflected in the mental lexicon of a person, but also involves the study of certain aesthetic demands and tastes of society.

Abstract:
The study is aimed at determining the relevance of using the tactics of reproducing stylistic characteristics of the text, tactics of pragmatic adaptation, as well as the tactics of correct information processing within the framework of the strategy of communicatively equivalent translation when translating texts in the field of craft-tourism. The examples of translations of texts of the above-mentioned type with subsequent analysis confirming the applicability of the above-mentioned strategy and tactics aimed at its implementation in translating texts in the field of craft-tourism from Russian into English and Italian are discussed in the article. The scientific novelty of the study is that for the first time, based on the material of the Russian, Italian and English languages, the principle of translating within the framework of communicative situations in the craft-tourism industry from the point of view of a communicative and functional approach to translation, taking into account pragmatic factors such as the goals pursued by communicants and their national and cultural characteristics, as well as the peculiarities of the terminology used in the above-mentioned field is described. A set of translation tactics used for implementing the chosen strategy in each communicative situation, in particular, the tactics of pragmatic adaptation and the tactics of correct information processing within the framework of a strategy of communicatively-equivalent translation for confirming its applicability (based on the material of the Russian and English languages) is also proposed. The result shows the following: due to the necessity not only to translate a text of the mentioned type from one language to another, but also to adapt it to a foreign recipient (in this case, a foreign tourist), based on the national and cultural characteristics, as well as the norms of terminology formation in Russian and English, the above-mentioned translation tactics within the framework of the strategy of communicatively-equivalent translation are considered to be applicable.

Abstract:
The challenges surrounding determining the status and integrity of the language used in media are covered in this article. Modern linguistics describes and formulates contemporary solutions to this issue. We got to the conclusion that the speech of Internet users represents the dominant tendencies in communication in the modern world. The blending of genre and style lines, the demand for informality, and the ease of communication result in both the loss of some linguistic characteristics and the rise of new ones. Therefore, the focus is on the procedure for changing the language of media as well as the many causes of this shift. The characteristics of the mass media were also examined, and their functional traits were taken into account. Analysis is conducted on the novel features of new and conventional mass media, as well as the processes of mass political communication that have emerged as a result of the advancement of information and computer technology. The article discusses the variables influencing how language is used in the media today, the significance of text linguistics in this, and the issues with socioeconomic differentiation in society. An important area of study in the field of linguistics is the interaction of social and internal structural factors in language. As a result of the complexity of scientific and technological advancements that influence the communication life of society, it is noticed that current language life is growing more sophisticated and diverse. It was believed that locating this speech branch within the system of conventional functional styles is necessary for identifying the functional-stylistic approach to determining the primary characteristics of the mass media language. Abstract:
This paper investigates the category of expressivity in contemporary English scientific discourse. In particular, metatexts representing scientific articles in the international citations databases, namely Scopus and WoS, are analyzed. The aforesaid metatexts, including the title of the publication and the abstract to it, are treated as secondary small format units which represent a complete semantic replica of the original full-text version of the article retaining its basic functional and pragmatic characteristics. Objectivity, clarity of expression and lack of subjective modality are traditionally perceived as the key features of written scientific communication. At the same time, the argumentative nature of scientific discourse is supposed to bring about the language means of expressing one’s personal position and affecting the addressee. Thus, this paper aims to elicit the expressive means typical of scientific small format metatexts, and to shape them into an expressivity matrix. With the help of stylistic and discourse analysis, the expressive means ofdifferent linguistic layers are selected. Further on, due to the quantitative analysis the hierarchy of expressive means is determined on all the levels of the language system. In the final stage of the analysis the data is systematized into a matrix of scientific metatexts expressivity means. The acquired data prompt a conclusion that the scientific metatexts are characterized by a specific system of linguistic expressive means. The central position in this system is occupied by the lexical means, mainly by the evaluative adjectives. The second place is taken by the tropes, especially metaphor. The means of expressive syntax are on the periphery of the expressivity matrix, as well as the expressive means of the graphical character. The acquired results contribute to the understanding of the dynamic processes that the category of expressivity is undergoing in the contemporary scientific discourse; also they can be of practical use for those intending to publish their scientific works in the international high-rating scientific editions.

Abstract:
Introduction. The article presents an overview of the constitutive features of media political discourse. The aim of the article is to determine the essential parameters of modern Englishlanguage media-political discourse. The main components of this type of discourse, its axiological structure are considered. Special attention is paid to the ideological and manipulative nature of media political discourse. The relevance of the study is conditioned by the necessity of singling out media political discourse as one of the sections of discourse theory through the meticulous study of its system-forming features.Methodology and sources. As a methodological basis, the article uses some ideas of the functional approach to discourse analysis, in particular, critical discourse analysis, as well as cognitive linguistics, media discourse, medialinguistics, multimodal approach to the study of discourse. The main method is an analytical scientific review of Russian and foreign works on discourse theory. Results and discussion. According to the results of the review, the main components of media political discourse are political topics, political actors, political language, and, mainly, mass media that mediate communication within the framework of MPD. The fundamental characteristics of media political discourse include ideology, manipulativeness, persuasiveness, emotionality, polycodicity, informativeness, dynamism, and theatricality. Virtual media-political discourse, as well as Internet discourse in general, is characterized by hybridity, stylistic heterogeneity, creolization, multichannel and dialogicality, and involves remote interactive and immersive communication of virtual interlocutors. A higher level of actualization, timeliness and informativeness of online media-political discourse compared to traditional media is evident. New media supplement traditional media tasks with new functions. The axiological halo of the text, which means the whole set of values presented in the text, has a decisive impact on the interpretation of the author's ideological position and contributes to the strengthening of the media political text's suggestiveness. Based on the definition of such features of media political discourse as polycode and multilevel, it seems most effective to consider this type of discourse from the position of multimodality.Conclusion. The main function of media political discourse can be considered the construction of collective political reality in this type of discourse. Media political discourse is a construct that has constitutive power and participates in the construction of social reality. The media political picture of the world is constructed through the broadcasting of certain images, meanings, ideological attitudes, values and political preferences.

Abstract:
The research focuses on exploring the structural and compositional features of blogs as a genre of professional Internet communication in the course of «Language of business communication». The tasks are outlined as follows: 1) to reveal the linguistic characteristics, functions, classification principles, and formatting rules of blogs; 2) to analyze blogs as a genre of professional Internet communication. The descriptive method and various types of linguistic analysis are applied. To develop students’ practical skills in professional blogging, analysis, and critical evaluation of posts by scientists, educators, and well-known public figures on the websites of reputable platforms in Ukraine, theoretical familiarization with linguistic features (stylistic, lexical, grammatical), functions (communicative, psychotherapeutic, educational, self-presentation, socialization, and others), classification principles (in particular, by authorship, by type of multimedia, by topic), and blog formatting rules (structural and compositional elements: profile, main page, individual entry/post page, friends’ feed), as well as practical analysis of the themes and structural and compositional features of the blogs by Oleksandr Ponomariv, Iryna Farion, and Taras Kremin are proposed. Posts by Oleksandr Ponomarev are grouped mainly with regard to the recommendations on language culture, discussing cases of violations of certain norms of literary language. Posts related to the history of language, sociolinguistics are also singled out. The posts demonstrate a combination of features from various functional styles of the Ukrainian language – scientific, journalistic, and colloquial. Posts by Iryna Farion are grouped in terms of the themes of the titles: about political life, problems of language policy; about prominent Ukrainians; letters, appeals; about scientific and teaching life, international relations. Such genre features of the posts as stylistic syncretism (features of journalistic, scientific, official-business, artistic, and colloquial styles), blurring the boundaries of taboo vocabulary, the use of stylistically reduced, jargon, and emotionally marked vocabulary, colloquial idioms, self-presentation (in particular, adherence to the orthographic norms of the Ukrainian spelling of 1928) are evidenced. Posts by Taras Kremin are proposed to be divided into three thematic groups: about the linguicide of the Ukrainian language by the Russian Federation, Russian aggression and propaganda, and counteraction to them; issues of the internal language situation and policy; international support for Ukraine, the Ukrainian language, and the status of the Ukrainian language in the world. The structural and compositional features of the posts, which demonstrate the important role of titles as external indicators of the text, a developed system of hyperlinks in the main body of the text, the accumulation of emotionally marked, evaluative vocabulary, grammatical and graphic markers, and the use of dialogization tools, are analyzed. Abstract:
The paper discusses the character of communication in the architectural profession. As architecture has a multidimensional discursive nature, architectural communicativeness is viewed as a complexly organized linguistic formation that is the result of the correlation and interaction of immanent technical discourse (an engineering, construction and design communication model) and communication models of other work environments, such as those which are normative-legal (an administrative and legislative communication model), scientific-academic (theoretical, critical, essay and translation models of communication) or journalistic (promotional and managerial models of communication). Within the mentioned subtypes of architectural communication, one can find polyphonic extralinguistic inclusions intertwined with discourses of other scientific and academic spheres. In this sense, the architectural code of communication is characterized not only by the functional terminology of tangent areas, but also by the picturesqueness of speech genres, based on the use of abstract and symbolic tropes, from personifications to metaphors. The basic assumption of the text is that the general differentiation of architectural communication - due to the apparent lack of methodological and theoretical material on the subject - can be initially consolidated through Berthelot's (Jean-Michel Berthelot) theory of socio-humanistic programmatic changes in the epistemology of the second half of the 20th century, which includes the periodization of naturalistic, intentional and symbolic epistemological polarity. In the light of the presented starting point, Berthelot's epistemological poles are understood at the communicative level - as communication poles, to be analyzed as complex, abstract and variant discursive patterns of changing relations to the categories of culture and nature, with the characteristics of cognitive, thematic, stylistic and structural unity.

Abstract:
Introduction. The scientific article presents, for the first time, an analysis of fairy tales in the Khanty language as a subject of psycholinguistic analysis of male personality traits. The analysis was conducted by creating a character-centered portrait of the man as the central figure in the artistic discourse of the Khanty people. The aim of the study is to provide a psycholinguistic characterization of the individual qualities of the man based on the texts of Khanty fairy tales. Materials and Methods. The study is based on texts from Khanty folk tales such as “As Tyiikityvum Ver” (“The Origin of As Tyiik”) and “Mεŋkiketpa Ajpŏχlε” (“Mengki, the Giants, and Aj Pukhle”), as well as authorial tales like “Vўsхә ay Khily” (“The Merchant’s Youngest Grandson”), “Ietenkhătel Pelyak Pukh” (“The Boy from Where the Sun Rises…”), “Kasumikiputrat” (“Stories of an Old Khanty”), and “LεrPukhie” (“Boy-Koryeshok”). The methodological foundation of the research is based on the principles of systematicity and historicism, which view the literary text as a source of diverse, multi-level information from the perspective of the unity of content and form. The study integrates linguistic source analysis and functional-stylistic approaches, which together constitute a linguo-textological analysis of the works. In line with these approaches, descriptive methods (including observation, comparison, classification, and generalization) and comparative methods (in comparing the thematic integrity of the corpus of literary texts) are used in the research. Structural-semantic and component analysis methods were employed when analyzing the personal characteristics of men. Results and Discussion. Through the analysis of psycholinguistic and stylistic means of representing the image of a man in Khanty folk and authored tales, it was found that a man is depicted as the head of a large family, a protector, a provider, the master of the house, a fisherman, and a hunter, without whom it would be difficult for a woman with children to survive in the harsh climatic conditions. The Khanty man is endowed with a range of ethnic, social, historical, and geographical characteristics that, on the one hand, are inextricably linked to his language, and on the other, are influenced by psychological manifestations. Conclusion. The scientific article presents, for the first time, a psycholinguistic analysis of the personal characteristics of the collective image of a man in Khanty folk tales through the creation of a character-centric portrait of an artistic figure as an object of artistic discourse. The research results contribute to the field by applying an integrated approach to the historical-linguistic study of the male image in Khanty tales from the perspectives of psycholinguistics and literary studies. The psycholinguistic analysis of the personal characteristics of the collective male image in Khanty folk tales allowed for the creation of a character-centric portrait of a figure as an object of artistic discourse, endowed with unique qualities.

Abstract:
Aim: to determine of peculiarities of personal cognitive styles in qualified badminton players.
Material and methods. The studies were carried out using the hardware-software computer complex "Multipsychometer-05". The modified Stroop test was selected. The indicators of the test "Field dependence" were determined: field independence, left hemispheric dominance, functional asymmetry, and the effectiveness of the test. The obtained results of the study were analyzed for the entire sample of badminton players, as well as separately for men and women.
Results. According to the results of scientific research on the field dependence of qualified badminton players, it was found that all athletes in our sample demonstrate a slight bias towards field dependence; dominated by right hemisphere dominance; in functional asymmetry and efficiency, qualified badminton players demonstrate an average level. The analysis of test indicators, taking into account gender dimorphism, showed that among men 72% demonstrate a predominance of right hemispheric dominance of varying degrees, 28% have left hemispheric dominance. As for women, 54% demonstrate a predominance of right hemispheric dominance of varying degrees, and 37% demonstrate left hemispheric dominance of varying degrees.
Conclusions. Men show a tendency towards better test performance and have more pronounced functional asymmetry. The cognitive style of skilled badminton players determines the strategy of selection and processing of information, problem solving, learning and other types of cognitive activities. Because human cognitive-activity styles are genetically determined and demonstrate a pronounced stability of cognitive-stylistic characteristics in ontogenesis, they can be used as prognostic and diagnostic criteria.

Abstract:
Aim. To identify the functions implemented by modal particles in texts of various functional styles in the German language.Methodology. 200 examples were selected from the DECOW 16A colloquial speech corpus, the DWDS colloquial speech subcorpus, the “Berliner Tageszeitung” and “Tagesspiegel” newspaper text corpus, as well as from German fiction: works by F. Kafka, W. Herndorf “Tschick”, the novel by W. Timm “Johannisnacht”. When working with the actual material, the following methods were used: the contextual analysis method, the continuous sampling method, and the comparative method.Results. It is shown that each functional style is characterized by its own set of modal particles that implement the corresponding functions. In scientific-style texts, modal particles contribute to the expression of reason and consequense, dialogicity, and the formation of hypotheses. In colloquial style texts, modal particles are involved in building successful communication, reflecting the speaker’s propositional attitude and emotional state, as well as acting as a means of coherence. In journalistic texts, modal particles typical of colloquial speech are used in intertextual inclusions, bringing the described situation closer to everyday life. In fiction the use of modal particles allows us to imagine the situation of everyday communication and reflect the internal state of the characters, show the nature of their relationships, speech characteristics peculiar to certain social and age groups. In both journalistic and artistic texts, modal particles act as a means of coherence, help to create dialogicity and hypothetisis.Research implications. The theoretical significance of the study lies in the fact that the work makes a certain contribution to the description of the functional purpose of modal particles and their role in various types of texts. The practical significance lies in the fact that the results obtained can be used in practical classes on the German language, stylistics and grammar of the text at the language faculties of universities.

The article examines various linguistic means of the language of law: general linguistic (clarity, accuracy, conciseness), lexical, syntactic and stylistic. Particular attention is paid to vocabulary. The importance of consistent use of terms with clear meanings is noted. The features of the use of nouns and verbs in legal texts are given. It has been revealed that nouns can be used to list competencies (acceptance, approval, establishment, etc.), and verbs are used mainly in the active voice to focus attention on the subject of the action. The set of verbs depends on the type of document and scope of application. It is concluded that linguistic features make it possible to distinguish a legal text from a variety of documents. Legal language is considered difficult to understand, so it is important to maintain pattern and standardization when creating legal texts, while the style of statement and selection of vocabulary should ensure clarity for any reader. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time, using the material of the Russian language of law, various features and errors of the legal text have been described and systematized. As a result of the study, it was established that the process of drawing up a legal text is complicated not so much by the lack of legal knowledge as by a lack of understanding of the rules for using the Russian language in law.

Abstract:
The article is dedicated to the analysis of occasionalisms in E.G. Vodolazkin's novel "Lavr" as a key element of the author's idiolect, representing the religious-philosophical discourse through the synthesis of archaic and postmodern linguistic strategies. The object of the study is the occasionalisms in E.G. Vodolazkin's novel "Lavr" as a linguopoetic phenomenon, while the subject of the research is their structural-semantic features and functional role in constructing the religious-philosophical discourse. The aim of the study is to identify the structural-semantic characteristics of occasional units, their role in the architecture of the text, and the transmission of worldview attitudes, which allows uncovering the mechanisms of language transformation into a tool of theological reflection. The key focus is on the multi-level classification of occasionalisms, revealing their systemic interaction: lexical-semantic (recontextualization, for example, "twofoldness"), morphological (archaic suffixes — "Rukinets"), syntactic (violation of agreement norms), and graphic (metatextual markers, for example, parentheses). The methodology combines linguistic-stylistic analysis of word formation models, taxonomies of occasionalisms based on N.G. Babenko's criteria with the addition of graphic types, as well as the interpretation of linguistic neologisms in the context of religious symbolism. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the interpretation of linguistic deformation as a mechanism of philosophical modeling, where occasionalisms transform the text into a space for dialogue between the material and the spiritual ("woodenness" as a symbol of asceticism), the historical and the eternal (allusions to the martyr canon of Trifon), language and metaphysics (the wordplay "kalachnik/kulachnik" as semantic deconstruction). During the study, it was established that occasionalisms perform a dual function: archaization (for example, "theologize," "child-loving") links the text to the church tradition, while neologization ("spiritual fall," "time counting") actualizes philosophical themes — eternity, metamorphosis, transcendence. The conclusions emphasize that the synthesis of tradition and innovation in occasionalisms forms the unique idiolect of E.G. Vodolazkin, where the language game becomes a tool for reflection on existential boundaries and opens up new perspectives for interdisciplinary dialogue between linguistics, theology, and cultural anthropology in contemporary prose.

Abstract:
Statement of the problem. The relevance of the proposed research is due to the growing interest in Chinese music in the world, its goal is to help the future listener and performer of this music in mastering the piano works of the outstanding Chinese composer Chen Peixun. The article is devoted to the connections between Chen Peixun’s piano work and the national traditions of musical and theatrical art of the cultural center of the Chinese province of Guangdong – the Canton city. Their features are reflected in a number of the master’s piano pieces: “Selling Groceries”, “Passionate Spring Desire” (op. 5), “A Thunderclap During a Drought” (op. 6), Variations “Flight of Two Butterflies” (op. 7), “Autumn Moon over a Calm Lake” (op. 17), “Flowing Water” (op. 19). Objectives, methods, and novelty of the research. The purpose of the article is to identify the connections of Chen Peixun’s piano works with national traditions of musical and theatrical art and to determine the features of their performance embodiment. The following methods and approaches are used: systemic – ensures the interaction of functional and structural characteristics of phenomena in the studied area; historical-typological – allows to trace historical connections and continuity in the field of theatrical and piano art; philosophical-aesthetic – helps to comprehend the worldview of the composer; structural-functional – is needed to carry out a compositional and dramaturgical analysis of selected works, to comprehend their musical form and figurative and semantic plan; interpretative –to reproduce the sound ideal in the process of performing the composer’s text. The issue of the connection between the Chen Peixun’s piano work and national musical and dramatic art has not been considered in scientific works. Research results and conclusion. The stylistics of Cantonese folk music is characterized by sophistication, detailing of the figurative structure, attention to psychological subtext, and a variety of timbre characteristics. These features are reflected in the composer’s piano music, primarily in melodic turns and modal features. The musical language is based on cantilena and sound imaging. The principles of the composer’s work with national material, which has received bright features in the piano texture and timbre characteristics of his works, are revealed. A set of performance tasks aimed at overcoming pianistic problems of both in miniatures and in extended concert works is considered. In Chen Peixun’s piano works, the embodiment of the stylistic elements of the Cantonese opera yueju is especially clearly felt: typical melodies, various pentatonic modes with the addition of additional degrees, ornaments of maotou at the beginning of phrases, imitation of the timbres of the Cantonese instrumental ensemble, etc. The main tasks that arises before the performer of the composer’s piano works are the need of high professionalism and adequate reproduction of the composer’s concept. Chen Peixun’s piano works are a unique phenomenon of Chinese musical culture, a bright page of the world piano art of the 20th century. Their genre and style novelty contributes to the propaganda and introduction of the composer’s works in the concert practice.

Abstract:
Objective. The purpose of the article is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the ways of transmitting the characters’ internal speech (internal direct speech and non-proper direct speech) in a psycholinguistic projection.
Materials & Methods. During the research we used general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, observation, description, classification, definitive analysis), linguistic and psycholinguistic methods (the methods of structural-semantic, component and opposition analysis, the method of dialogical interpretation of the text). Stepan Protsyuk’s psychologically biographical trilogy about Ukrainian writers – Vasyl Stefanyk («The rose of ritual pain»), Arkhyp Teslenko («Black Apple») and Volodymyr Vynnychenko («Masks fall slowly») served as material for research.
Results. The multiplicity and multi-sectoral focus of the notion of «internal speech» from the standpoint of psychology, psycholinguistics, philosophy, literary criticism and linguistics are determined. An integrated approach to understanding the essence of internal speech is based on its dialogicality, virtual communicativeness, self-communicativeness and interdependence of language and speech. The qualification characteristics of the internal direct speech and non-proper direct speech are outlined, their structural and semantic varieties are described. The internal speech of the characters appears not only for reproduction of the monologic reflections of the character, but also as a form of inner, veiled talk of characters among themselves. With this in mind, two forms of representation of the internal direct speech are singled out: monologic and dialogic. The non-proper direct speech is differentiated into two varieties depending on stylistic reference points and the degree of approaching the direct speech: «literary» («author’s») and «character’s» («personal»). The functional-stylistic potential of ways of transferring the internal speech in the idiostyle of Stepan Protsiuk is revealed.
Conclusions. It is concluded that the ways of transmitting of internal speech (internal direct speech and non-proper direct speech) widely used in the psychologically biographical novels of Stepan Protsiuk provide additional linguistic material for creating of psychological portraits of heroes and contribute to the artistic solution of the tension between the author’s speech and hero’s speech. Moreover, they help to adjust the interactions in their dialogue, reduce the distance between the narrator and the hero, the hero and the reader.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the reproduction of frames of English advertising and informational texts in the Ukrainian language. The relevance of the work is due to the urgent need to consider the specifics of the translation of English-language advertising texts, and the importance of reproduction in the translation of compositional and informational advertising frames. The aim of the study is a theoretical and practical study of the specifics of the implementation of compositional-speech frames of English advertising and informational texts in Ukrainian. Scientific novelty lies in the identification of the specifics of the translation of a number of frames in the advertising discourse, focused on certain age and gender categories of consumers. Advertising discourse is a communicative structure, the frame strategies of which functioning in the communicative space of advertising are determined by the complex interaction of frames of various slots. As a result of the research, the author comes to the conclusion that the purpose of the translator is to use all knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation to convey the communicative function of the original and to comply with such criteria of the advertising text as compactness, laconism, accuracy, and concreteness. Translated ad copy is a means that allows overseas companies to gain visibility and build a reputation with buyers in other countries. The success of an advertising campaign directly depends on the quality of its translation, which is considered a kind of art and requires from the translator not only good knowledge of linguistic and stylistic skills, but also such qualities as creativity, accuracy, awareness of the cultural traditions of the target language. During the analysis, we determined that a prerequisite for translation is the selection of appropriate means to convey not only the very meaning of the advertising message, but its expressive, gender, age and functional characteristics.

Abstract:
Volodymyr Barchuk, doctor of philological sciences, professor of the Ukrainian language department of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, known in the scientific world as a linguist – a researcher of the grammatical level of the language: morphology and syntax, grammatical categoryology, as well as the history of language, the field of communicative and cognitive linguistics, recently debuted with a poetic collection "Heavenly Tower", signed under the pseudonym Volodymyr Otyn. The article characterizes the peculiarities of the functioning of epithets as one of the artistic and pictorial means in the indicated book. Groups of epithets have been identified according to various characteristics: permanent and individually authored, the latter of which significantly predominate; structural features of epithets, ways of expression are indicated. The functional and stylistic load of epithets in the texts of the named collection is clarified, and attention is also drawn to the phenomenon of amplification with the use of epithets, characteristic of poetic texts. It has been established that the use of colorative adjectives in the role of epithets is characteristic of Volodymyr Otyn's poetry. A stable trend has been observed regarding the way epithets are expressed: they are mainly adjectives or adverbs, adverbial epithets are represented less frequently. The most diverse in terms of semantics are the groups of signified words with which the author combines epithets: spatial and temporal names, names of human feelings and sensations, names of natural phenomena, abstract concepts, etc. The functions of epithets in the analyzed poems are indicated: text-creative, restrictive-exclusive, descriptive-extensive, image-creating, individualization function. On the basis of the analysis, it is proved that the wealth of epithets and the high frequency of its use are one of the defining features of Volodymyr Otyn's idiostyle.

Abstract:
Objective. The objective of the article is to determine the the basic approaches to the study of comparison in linguistics. Methods. The main scientific results are obtained applying a set of general scientific and special methods of research, namely: analysis and generalization of scientific literature on the problems of comparison in linguistics; theoretical generalization, analysis and synthesis; holistic and integral approaches to the study of comparison in linguistics; comparative, descriptive and analytical methods. Results. Comparison is defined to be the assimilation of the depicted objects, phenomena, facts. One more understanding of comparison is a figurative lexical expression, the base of which is the comparison of two objects, phenomena etc., after consideration of which the perception of the first phenomena is enhanced by emphasizing its characteristics and properties. Some may imply the presence of the following properties in comparison: the separate communication of the compared concepts, the dissected nomination, structurality, semantic multifunctionality, polyfunctionality. Comparisons can be typologized based on various bases — of which structures, semantics, stable connectedness of elements, their functional characteristics, etc. Each of the classifications is important both for understanding the linguistic essence of comparison, and for a full analysis of comparative constructions in the language of a particular writer. In comparison with other tropes, comparison is characterized by a wide variety of structural organization. The classic division of comparisons into simple and sustained similes is important for a stylistic analysis of the literary text, in which both simple and sustained similes comparative constructions can play a significant role, obeying the author’s communicative plan. Comparison is a trope that is formed on a figurative comparison of two objects or phenomena and is a three-membered structure consisting of an explicit subject, an object and a comparative modulator. Other scientists distinguish two types of comparisons from the point of view of semantics. To the first group, they refer neutral comparisons, specific ones, with the help of which the speaker recreates the objectively existing characteristics of phenomena. The second group of comparisons includes tropes that have an evaluative element or stylistically expressive content components. According to classification developed by K. Fromilheig, objective and subjective comparisons are distinguished. Objective comparisons are created by the speaker on the basis of specific physical experience, while subjective ones follow from individual associations. Under stable comparisons, or comparative phraseological units (CPU), phraseological units (PU) of comparative semantics are usually understood. They have a pronounced evaluative function — the evaluation can be both positive and negative. Stable comparisons are characterized by the following properties of phraseological units: stability, motivation (as phraseological units), expressiveness, reproducibility. The main feature of sustainable comparisons is the usual rather than occasional figurativeness of individual comparisons. An important clarification about CPU is made, noting that they perform an amplifying function compared to metaphorical tropes, in which this function is expressed more implicitly.

Abstract:
The subject of the study is to identify the syntactic characteristics that form the syntax features of the literary works of Russian literature of the XIX century. During the research, similarities and differences of syntactic units of the originals and translations of the novels "Anna Karenina" and "Poor People" were established, as well as the national specifics of their structural, grammatical and functional semantic organization were analyzed. The purpose of the study is to identify the syntactic characteristics that form the syntax features of the literary works of Russian literature of the XIX century. To achieve this goal, a comparative analysis of the original novels by L.N. Tolstoy "Anna Karenina" and F.M. Dostoevsky "Poor People" and their translations into English, made by K. Granett in 1901 and S.D. Hogarth in 1867, respectively, was carried out. The comparative method made it possible to establish similarities and differences of syntactic constructions in the originals of the novels "Anna Karenina", "Poor People" and their translations. The method of linguistic analysis makes it possible to identify syntactic constructions and linguistic units characteristic of literary texts of the XIX century. By means of the contextual analysis method, the dependence of the meaning of these units on the context is analyzed. Within the framework of the study, similarities and differences of syntactic units of originals and translations of the named literary texts were established, as well as the national specifics of their structural, grammatical and functional semantic organization were analyzed. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that for the first time an attempt was made to systematically describe syntactic features based on the texts of works of the XIX century written by different authors. The results and materials of the research can be used in the training of specialists in the field of translation, in teaching linguistic disciplines, as well as in the development of theoretical materials on the theory and practice of translation, intercultural communication, syntax, stylistics and linguoculturology. When comparing the originals and translations of novels, cases were identified when the emotional emphasis laid by the author is shifted or lost in the English-language text. One of the reasons is the discrepancy between the grammatical norms and structures of the Russian and English languages.

The article gives a detailed analysis of stylistic parameters and criteria of media phraseology with regard to their functional potential in different types of communication. The author considers media phraseologism as a special verbal marker of modern society and defines the criteria of scientific analysis of phraseologism in mass media. In scientific analysis the author focuses his attention on the types of media phraseology and provides mechanisms for the functioning of traditional (usual), stylistically transformed and idiomatically new phraseologism in mass communication. On the basis of the medialinguistic view on phraseologism as the universum of media text new requirements for describing the functional potential of these linguistic units in media texts are proposed. Thus, functional-stylistic approach to the analysis of media phraseology determines the prospects for its scientific description and further linguapragmatics in various types of media communication. The article raises scientific problems concerning the analysis of media phraseology, the solution of which is possible with the help of the functional-stylistic approach.

Abstract:
The article describes the variety of onomastic lexical units in Vasyl Stefanyk’s short stories, published during his lifetime. We suggest a method of their lexicographic description, explain the relationship between onomastic lexical units and the character in the literary text. The text corpus of V. Stefanyk's life short stories makes it possible to single out and classify onomastic vocabulary, its quantitative characteristics. The study of onomastics in literary works by Ukrainian scientists has begun actively at the end of the previous century. Representatives of Ukrainian scientific onomastic schools are dedicating their work to this area of onomastics. The relevance of our study is determined by the need for a detailed analysis of literary onomastics of short stories by V. Stefanyk, for it has never been thoroughly studied so far and can be treated as one of the components of the language dictionary of the author's short stories. To create a dictionary entry of such a type, we consider it necessary to use a complete sample of the short stories to collect all onomastic units and contexts of their use, and methods of component and contextual analysis. Preparatory work is based on systemic and functional approaches. This dictionary should not only record the use of proper names in literary texts, but also show the connection between them, contain information about their variants. Therefore, the information reflected in the dictionary entry of the literary onomastic unit should be linguistic, literary, and literary-onomastic. Words of this type in Vasyl Stefanyk's short stories are not numerous. Accordingly, anthroponyms predominate and are more diverse, the rest are much less numerous (theonyms, chrononym, toponyms). All of them are to be included in the general dictionary register of the vocabulary of V. Stefanyk's short stories with the corresponding notes or comments. Next to the lemma we indicate the number of uses in all short stories. Regarding the type of definition, it is declaratory and mainly predicative, rarely – referencing. We provide quotations from the works published in the jubilee edition (1933) and three short stories that were not included in it, so, in our opinion, it will be sufficient to indicate the title of the short story and the page in the edition where it was used. As for the word forms, we use the format of a word index, where each form is presented separately at the end of the relevant main vocabulary entry with the indication of number of uses the title of the short story and the page in the edition where it was used. Further thorough study of onomasticon in V. Stefanyk's written works using descriptive, stylistic, quantitative methods, contrastive and etymological analysis is needed.

Abstract:
Intensive exchange of scientific and technical information, important role of English in the intercultural scientific communication actualize the task to provide the information easy to read and analyze. The paper deals with stylistic and functional peculiarities of modern English scientific and technical texts, namely of technical advertisement texts. The functions of English scientific and technical texts are analyzed. The article presents the analysis of the linguistic and extra linguistic means of realization of the text communicative function. Our research has shown that the main features of technical advertisement texts are objectivity, accurate and logical expressing, reliability and clarity. Emotionality and expressiveness are contrasting phenomenon in the texts of this genre. The purpose of technical advertisement texts was determined taking into consideration that the newest achievements and results of studies are presented in the most effective and convincing way affecting the reader’s mind and emotions. The author’s intention is to arouse the interest of the addressee, make them believe the author, urge them to act. The research proves that the influence on the readers is carried out by the use of epistemic and linguistic means. The epistemic means appeal to the special background knowledge of the addressee and include reliable scientific and technical facts. The obtained results show that the use of the emotional and expressive linguistic means has effect on the reader’s emotions, provides vividness and expressiveness to written communication. Emotional and expressive coloring is achieved by the use of syntactical structures of contrast and comparison, rhetorical questions, emphatic constructions, syntactical parallelism, subjunctive and imperative mood. The use of figurative linguistic means (metaphors, comparisons, idiomatic expressions) serves the expressiveness of the presentation in the text. We have come to the conclusion that functions of information and influence are closely connected, but here the information function prevails. Linguistic means of influence play an auxiliary, though important role: technical advertisement texts are characterized by combination of emotional, expressive and evaluative connotations with factual information.

Abstract:
Scientific style is one of the functional styles, which is now actively and dynamically developing. It aims to reflect the phenomena of linguistic reality and the processes of the society modern development. The mandatory features of the scientific texts syntax can be completed to the abstractivness and generalization, which are manifested as the exception of a personal subject of action (deagency) from the sentence structure and the wide applicability of nominalizing structures (the nominal nature of a statement). One of the ways to implement the deagency and nominal nature of a statement of scientific thought is the use of introductory constructions. Activation of introductory units in modern Ukrainian scientific speech is an innovative phenomenon. They have different extralinguistic nature and perform tasks that implement various communication patterns. The use of introductory constructions in a scientific text is necessary not only for the expressiveness of the message, but also for semantic integrity, which is ensured by combining all parts of the text around one topic. They help to realize such categories of the text as coherence, modality, consistency, and articulation. The specificity of the choice of introductory units depends on author's individual style, his thoughts about a particular problem, and predetermines the choice of linguistic means for conducting scientific discussion or argumentation. The article traces new trends in the communicative and pragmatic organization of modern Ukrainian scientific discourse due to the use of various types of introductory constructions. Their main functions and stylistic manifestations within the most important semantic groups are identified; the ways of structural and grammatical, and functional and stylistic diversity of introductory words, word combinations and sentences are established. Analyzing the actual material regarding the use of introductory words, phrases and sentences in modern Ukrainian scientific discourse, we state that they acquire a wider use and stylistic weight, serve as a means of implementing several communicative and pragmatic functions: text and connectedness, accent and affirmative, accent and hypothetical, and appraisal functions. There is a noticeable tendency towards the predominant use of the Ukrainian proper introductory words, phrases and sentences, which are increasingly confidently squeezing out of use common early introductory units, which testifies to the Ukrainization of scientific speech.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to determine the main types of narrative tempo in Ukrainian audiovisual art of the period of Independence and to identify the most commonly used methods among Ukrainian artists for achieving various forms of narrative tempo. The research aims to expand the analytical framework for understanding how temporal structures — particularly tempo and rhythm — shape the narrative, stylistic, and genre characteristics of screen works. The methodology. The methodology is based on narratological analysis, in which an audiovisual work is treated as a narrative text with an internal temporal structure. This is supplemented by systematic analysis that considers the work as a coherent system, as well as methods of systematization, generalization, and art studies. The study introduces and defines core concepts such as temporality (the interrelation between events in the story and the unfolding of the narrative), tempo (the speed of narrative progression), and rhythm (the frequency and nature of narrative technique changes — editing, sound, visuals, verbal and non-verbal strategies). The results. The article introduces and conceptualizes temporality as a key structural component of audiovisual narrative, emphasizing its role in the organization of story events and the unfolding of narrative time. A clear distinction is established between tempo — the speed at which narrative events unfold — and rhythm — the frequency and pattern of changes in narrative techniques such as editing, visual and auditory cues, and expressive devices. The research identifies five major types of narrative tempo: realistic pace, extension, compression, omission, and pause (including diegetic pause as a specific technique in fictional storytelling). It is observed that documentary cinema primarily employs realistic pace and omission, reflecting its affinity for observational and selective storytelling. In contrast, fictional audiovisual works in Ukraine make use of a broader spectrum of tempo types, allowing for more nuanced narrative manipulation. The study highlights the significance of tempo in generating connotative meanings that shape the emotional and semantic depth of a scene. Ultimately, the research proposes a comprehensive analytical model for studying tempo and rhythm in Ukrainian audiovisual works, thus contributing to the expansion of narratological approaches within contemporary media theory. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that it is the first systematic study in Ukrainian academic discourse focused specifically on the temporal dimension of audiovisual narrative. It introduces a functional typology of narrative tempos, refines the terminology of narrative temporality, and applies narratological theory in a context-specific manner — addressing Ukrainian cinema of the post-independence era. The practical significance of the article is that it provides an analytical framework and terminology that can be applied by scholars, critics, and audiovisual creators. By offering concrete categories and tools for analyzing narrative tempo and rhythm, the research enhances the understanding of temporal dynamics in screen storytelling and informs the practice of audiovisual production, editing, and genre development in Ukrainian cinema and beyond. The practical significance of the article lies in its applicability for both academic and creative fields. By offering a clear typology and definitions of narrative tempo and rhythm, the study provides researchers with a structured framework for analyzing the temporal organization of audiovisual texts. At the same time, it equips practitioners — directors, screenwriters, editors, and producers — with tools for conscious shaping the temporal dynamics of their works to achieve desired narrative effects. This analytical approach enhances the capacity for intentional storytelling, stylistic experimentation, and genre development in Ukrainian cinema and can serve as a methodological basis for further research and pedagogical practices in audiovisual art.

Abstract:
The aim of the present research is to reveal different stylistic devices that impart expressiveness as well as emotionality to the literary critical text. Being a historical category, scientific style is first of all based on the development of the scientific thought and is characterized by the state of the national language and by the abilities and skills of the author, as well as that of the reader, for whom the scientific text is meant. Scientific prose requires the use of a specific discourse, sometimes with a certain amount of ambiguity and indefiniteness. In recent years, there has been a significant rise in studies concerning the usage of different stylistic devices in scientific discourse, which is a direct indication of a complex dialectical relationship of the two main functional styles. All these elements of emotionality are necessary elements for the literary critical text. They essentially serve as additional reinforcements for the final clarification of the thought which is expressed in a neutral way. It should be noted that the fictive elements play a significant role in scientific discourse, thus contributing to the clarification of scientific theories and principles.

Abstract:
The article reviews the scientific literature and traces the main trends in the development of postmodern text and the development of expressive syntax as a stylistic construction during the XX – XXI centuries. Particular attention is paid to the work of domestic and foreign linguists. The main focus is on the study of metasymbolization of metaphorization and metonymization processes with their basic techniques and means that create the emotionally expressive background of prose text. The basic and auxiliary functions of syntactic-stylistic markers in the novels of German postmodernists are examined in details. The syntax of the German language written postmodern prose text is expressive of the processes of metaphorization and metonymization, implicit means known as the “metasymbolization” of syntactic and stylistic units. The process of metaphorization of expressive means of German language postmodern prose is due to allegory, symbolism, and synesthesia. The most typical type of metaphorization was personification. Metonymization in the texture of writing prose text is considered based on spatial and temporal, material and causal, associative and logical and quantitative relationships. Metonymy is syntactic in nature, compared to the semantic nature of metaphor. Functional approach to the study of syntactic-stylistic markers of German expressive syntax in postmodern texts is based on functionalism as a methodology and guided by its basic research principles, since it is in the functions of the syntactic-stylistic markers that the true intentions and reinforce of the postmodern author are strengthened. We see the perspective of our research in a comprehensive comparison of the German-speaking postmodern text of German, Austrian and Swiss postmodernists.
