Through the years, examination of fundus of the eye has come a long way. Technology has played a major part in the development of fundus imaging from direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy up to portable fundus cameras. However, the high cost of fundus cameras in the market creates an impediment in acquiring and utilizing such. The aim of this research was to improvise a cheaper yet fully functional fundus camera. A quantitative quasi-experimental type of research to rate the created prototype by a total of 23 respondents was applied. The device was rated according to functionality, design, ease o

A portable, low cost, widefield fundus camera is essential for developing affordable teleophthalmology. However, conventional trans-pupillary illumination used in traditional fundus cameras limits the field of view (FOV) in a snapshot image, and frequently requires pharmacologically pupillary dilation for reliable examination of eye conditions. This minireview summarizes recent developments in alternative illumination approaches for widefield fundus photography. Miniaturized indirect illumination has been used to enable compact design for developing low cost, portable, widefield fundus camera.

Abstract:
We have developed a device for projecting psychophysical stimuli onto precise retinal locations while the fundus is being viewed. The device consists of a fundus camera, modified by removing the ocular and 35-mm camera mount and replacing them with an infrared-sensitive video camera and a stimulus port. Any stimulus configuration can be used, as long as the stimulus image plane is conjugate with the retina (e.g., in the plane of the 35-mm film). Light for viewing the fundus is reduced to scotopic levels by insertion of a red cutoff filter in front of the background light. The image of the fund

This report analyzes data collected from 2700 churches of the Center for Congregations in Indianapolis through the Connect Through Tech grant program between 2020-2021. This report analyzes data gathered from applications to the CTT grant and final reports submitted by these churches, in order to learn how churches understand and perceive the role of churches, technology, and their relationship changed during the first two years of the pandemic as they incorporated digital media into their ministry work. Full text
Abstract:
This brief examines trends in patents generated through federally funded research, otherwise known as Bayh-Dole patents. We find that while Bayh-Dole patents make up a small proportion of U.S. patents overall, they are much more common in certain fields, especially in biosciences and national defense related fields. Academic institutions are major recipients of Bayh-Dole patents, and the funding landscape for patent-producing research has shifted since Bayh-Dole came into effect in 1980.

Abstract:
The accelerating Arctic cryosphere decline severely impacts the land on which northern communities live through the presence of coastal and marine geohazards and coastal erosion, which further places the cultural heritage of coastal archaeological sites at risks. Sea ice decline also compromises the formation of polynyas, with unknown consequences for the regional ecosystems. From the 10th to the 18th of July 2022, a scientific cruise onboard the research vessel William-Kennedy allowed the collection of a suite of samples and data from the marine coastal environment of Nain, Nunatsiavut. Only three out of five children are enrolled in preschool globally, and only one out of five in low-income countries, yet the expansion of preschool education came to a near standstill in 2020. To restart it, we propose a policy instrument called the Preschool Entitlement. It entails the right of every child to 600 hours of quality government-funded preschool education per year (3 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 weeks per year). Existing preschool institutions and other organizations with legal status (public, private, faith- or community-based) can offer the child development program after

This paper shows that advanced analytics and traditional statistical techniques on available unstructured and structured data can be utilized to understand the themes put forward in APEC's yearly meetings and how member economies have supported these topics through the conduct of APEC projects. The application of text mining algorithms, such as topic modeling on the proceedings of APEC-level annual meetings, namely, APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM), APEC Annual Ministerial Meeting (AMM), and Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM), generated themes from the text which insight have been discussed.
