Abstract:
The rationality of a fuzzy choice function is a hot research topic in the study of fuzzy choice functions. In this paper, two common fuzzy sets are studied and analyzed in the framework of the Banerjee choice function. The complete rationality and bounded rationality of fuzzy choice functions are defined based on the two fuzzy sets. An assumption is presented to study the fuzzy choice function, and especially the fuzzy choice function with bounded rationality is studied combined with some rationality conditions. Results show that the fuzzy choice function with bounded rationality also satisfies some important rationality conditions, but not vice versa. The research gives supplements to the investigation in the framework of the Banerjee choice function.

Abstract:
A fuzzy membership function was defined for each direction to predict the membership degree that an object pertains to a certain direction. Nine fuzzy membership functions were defined to describe the direction relations between fuzzy objects and crisp objects with corresponding fuzzy sets. Direction relations were described by a 3×3 fuzzy matrix, which was computed by an aggregation operator defined on the nine fuzzy sets. The fuzzy matrices and crisp matrices of direction relations between fuzzy objects and crisp objects were computed respectively, and comparison of fuzzy matrices with crisp ones reveals that the proposed fuzzy approach is more effective than existing crisp method.

Abstract:
The inclusion measure is an important index of fuzzy logic because of its wide application. This paper aims to put forward a new fuzzy inclusion measure. Based on the previous related research results, an axiomatic definition with three axioms is first chosen for the purpose of making the fuzzy inclusion measure in the true spirit of fuzzy logic. A calculation formula is built under the constraints of the chosen definition, that is to say that the calculation formula is consistent with the three axioms. Two properties are discussed. Finally, two examples are used to verify the rationality of the new inclusion measure between fuzzy sets.

Abstract:
For a fuzzy uniform space, the notion of a Cauchy prefilter, a precompact fuzzy set, a complete fuzzy set and a bounded fuzzy set are defined in such a way that these notions are good extensions of the corresponding notions for a uniform space. A theory of fuzzy uniform spaces is developed which generalises the theory of uniform spaces.

Abstract:
Acquisitions are a major part of the growth and evolution of companies within varying markets. They are conducted under various circumstances with differing aims and rationales, and for different purposes. This thesis focuses on acquisitions carried out by serial investors acting in a private equity market. These acquisitions are characterised by a highly competitive nature, where access to a large pipeline of potential targets is believed to be a key success factor. As such, deal origination and sourcing of potential targets become important factors to facilitate a high-paced deal flow. Earlier research suggests that this is well researched with regards to venture capital, but to a large extent lacking within private equity. This thesis analyses and discusses the possibility of systematising early evaluation of potential acquisition targets within private equity. The aim is to suggest a framework that may be utilised, consisting of the criteria deemed important for early evaluation. Through utilising multi criteria decision making, the framework allows for a relative importance between criteria to contribute to assessment, while fuzzy set theory allows for a degree of uncertainty to be incorporated. This thesis is conducted through data collection from a number of professionals within private equity, selected from a non-probability sample. Semi-structured interviews and a 3 pairwise comparison is utilised to allow for analysis and discussion with regards to earlier research and theory, while allowing for comparison between respondents. The results of the thesis indicate that utilising a framework for early evaluation of potential targets may be beneficial. The key dimensions to consider are financial, commercial and market capabilities. However, the criteria constituting the dimensions may be firm or industry specific.

Abstract:
Several application domains deal with complex objects whose structure and semantics of their components are crucial for their handling. For this, graph structure has been adopted, as a model of representation, in these areas to capture a maximum of information, related to the structure, semantics and behavior of such objects, necessary for effective representation and processing. Thus, when comparing two complex objects, a matching technique is applied between their graph structures. In this thesis, we are interested in approximate matching techniques which constitute suitable tools to automatically find and select the most similar graphs to user graph query. The aim of our work is to develop methods to personalized and flexible querying of repositories of complex objects modeled thanks to graphs and then to return the graphs results that fit best the users ’needs, often expressed partially and in an imprecise way. In a first time, we propose a flexible approach for Web service retrieval that relies both on preference satisfiability and structural similarity between process model graphs. This approach allows (i) to improve the matching process by integrating user preferences and the graph structural aspect, and (ii) to return the most relevant services. A second method for evaluating graph similarity queries is also presented. It retrieves graph similarity skyline of a user query by considering a vector of several graph distance measures instead of a single measure. Thus, graphs which are maximally similar to graph query are returned in an ordered way. Finally, refinement methods have been developed to reduce the size of the skyline when it is of a significant size. They aim to identify and order skyline points that match best the user query
