Heterotrimeric G proteins are masters regulators of cell homeostasis. They coordinate the signaling between G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) and their intracellular effectors. Heterotrimeric G proteins are composed of three subunits: G-alpha, G-beta, G-gamma. They function as a switches between an inactive GDP-bound state and an active GTP•bound state. Upon receptor activation, the G-alpha subunit undergoes a conformational change that leads to the exchange of GTP for GDP and the dissociation of the G-alpha subunit from the G-beta-gammadimer, allowing the subunits to activate their downstr

Abstract:
Abstract Until the 2000 Edition of API-579 [1], the geometries (Ri/t, a/ℓ, a/t in cylinders or spheres) for which a complete set of stress intensity factor influence coefficients (Gi) existed was limited. To bridge that gap, many analysts have used the G0 and G1 coefficients for flat plate geometries to represent axial or circumferential flaws in cylinders. Because the cylindrical geometry contains additional stiffness effects due to curvature, it was generally assumed that the plate geometry (Ri/t = ∞) will be bounding and therefore conservative [2]. Since 2007, extensive sets of Gi coefficie

Abstract:
In the face of the COVID-19 crisis, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), other multilateral institutions and countries took unprecedented measures. Inter alia, the IMF agreed on an historical SDR allocation that more than tripled the volume of SDRs to cover long-term global reserve needs and ultimately support vulnerable countries. Member countries can keep SDRs to boost their reserves or use them in other ways, including to cancel their debts with the IMF, lend to the IMF or exchange SDRs for currencies. This document evaluates how members have used the 2021 SDR allocation. The findings sho

Abstract:
Over 1,100 experts have shared with us their concerns about COVID-19 and COVID-impacted areas in the immediate and longer term future. This report outlines concerns about international affairs. Experts are concerned about how the Coronavirus outbreak might affect relations between countries, as suppression strategies drift. This could create international tensions and lead to a rise in populism. There are also concerns about how criticism of the UK response might impact the the country's global position. Experts are also concerned about a lack of international cooperation. They worry that the

Vegetation inventory and mapping is a process to document the composition, distribution and abundance of vegetation types across the landscape. The National Park Service’s (NPS) Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) program has determined vegetation inventory and mapping to be an important resource for parks; it is one of 12 baseline inventories of natural resources to be completed for all 270 national parks within the NPS I&M program. The Mojave Desert Network Inventory & Monitoring (MOJN I&M) began its process of vegetation inventory in 2009 for four park units as follows: Lake Mead
