ABSTRACTEighteenth-century composers wrote many passages in which a treble line rises from scale degrees 1 or 3 up to 5, while the bass descends chromatically from 1 down to 5. The diverging lines reach an octave by way of an augmented-sixth interval. These passages represent a voice-leading schema analogous to those introduced by Robert O. Gjerdingen in his book Music in the Galant Style. Following Gjerdingen's use of Italian words to refer to some of his schemata, I propose the word ‘Morte’ for this schema and survey its use by musicians, who relied on it not only as an intensely expressive gesture that could effectively enhance the most tragic moments of a work but also as a compositional building-block: an ornate half cadence that they found especially useful in transitional passages and development sections.

Abstract The paper discusses the optimizing possibilities in terms of use of public transportation that is very necessary considering the difficulty of increasing the capacity of the road with widen road infrastructure in an effort to manage “supply”. Therefore, an alternative approach when managing “demand” for transportation system can be controlled. This is especially needed in settlements newly developed rapidly in Deli Serdang Regency, namely in the Galang Region. The region Galang area with a population of 613 working people with details of 189 civil servants and 424 private employees who the majority (94%) use private transportation. One aspect that is studied within this manuscript is the amount of transportation costs of travel to work using private transportation (motorcycle) and public transportation (angkot or mikrolet). Transportation selection modeling is done using the Bi-nomial Model Binary Logit. Based on the analysis of the results obtained, it can be concluded that, if the difference in transportation costs with private transport getting bigger, the opportunities to use this mode will increase. The balance between the costs and using private and public transport is maintained if the costs of private transport are 1.4 times greater than the cost public transportation.

Purpose of the study: The article focuses on the study of gallantry culture in terms of the theory of intercultural communication on the example of fiction written by N.M. Karamzin, an outstanding representative of European and Russian sentimentalism.
Methods and materials: The theoretical aspects of the problem of gallantry are considered in the context of the main provisions of modern concepts of intercultural communication. N.M. Karamzin’s “sensitive” novels are analyzed from the standpoint of gallant secular ceremonies.
Main findings: The concept of gallantry is associated with the psychological aspects of the new secular personality. It is correlated with the educational and didactic ideas of the Enlightenment and the chivalry code. The basis of true gallant psychology as a sensitive world view is love, passion, and tenderness, which forms a system of ideas for the gallant education of the younger generation in a new society at the turn of the 18th – 19thcenturies. The article reveals the main features of the gallant gentleman: sensitivity, melancholy, virtue, lack of rational principles.
The originality of the study: The ideas about the interrelated gradual comprehension of Beauty and Virtue, Love and the sensory perception of Beauty as a Divine principle are likewise important. The discoveries of N.M. Karamzin, a writer and a psychologist, in the sphere of gallant psychology and the general cultural phenomenon of gallantry are connected with the analysis of the person’s internal rules of behavior, thinking and world perception. The article shows how the writer developed new cultural studies at the joint of literature, everyday life and psychology, which laid the foundation of the studied problem.

Galang Island region's potential development into a tourism area depends on the physical potential, diversity of flora and fauna and activities that support the economic sector for residents around Galang Island. There are two types of ecotourism development recommendations, one concerning conservation which aims to preserve ecosystems and the second is the use of natural beauty as tourism background and facilities that support the surrounding resident's economy. The problem is how the two tourism recommendations can work together and what kind of synergy the recommendations are like. Through identification stages of the flora and fauna types and analysis of the economic activities of residents around Galang Island, produce a mapping of the potential that can be developed into a tourism area. In the ideation stage, the potential analysis can be realized by functional zone, namely conservation zones, recreation zones and their relationship to regional boundaries and the synergy relationship formed through the circulation concept. By the zones and circulation concept, the visualization phase will be more detailed explaining by the atmosphere that was formed as a synergy form in the Galang Island region design

Health behavior is all activities of a person that can be observed or which cannot be observed that are related for health care and improvement. Helminthiasis is the infectious of disease whose prevalence is very high in Indonesia, especially intestinal worms that are transmitted through soil (Soil Transmitted Helminth ).Worm disease is widespread in both rural and urban areas. The problem of this research there is relationship between behavior and personal hygiene of the mother with helminthiasis incident in infants in the work area of Galang Public Health Center in 2019. the type of research used is using survey research that is analytical survey with a cross sectional survey approach to learn the correlation dynamics between risk factors by effects, by approach, observation data colletion in the same time (point time approach). Population of the research 160 mothers the sample of this research is 62 mothers that have baby in Galang Public Health Center . the variable of the researched to knowing about relationship behavior and personal hygiene of the mother with helminthiasis incident as independent variable and helminthiasis in infant as dependent variable .the Data is by questionnaire technique. The Data obtained were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. The result of the research showed that based on personal hygiene mothers who behaved adequately as many as 39 peoples (62,9%) while the mothers who behaved had good hygiene was 23 people (37,1). The result showed that helminthiasis incident in infants as many as 39 peoples ( 62.9%) research while those who did not develop helminthiasis in infants were 23 peoples (37.1%). The result of chisquare test a many as.. with p value 0.007(p<0.05) that means Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. There in significant relationship between behavior and personal hygiene of the mother with helminthiasis incident in infanst in the work area of Galang Public Health Center in 2019.

He has a great merit in the development of musical culture in South Ossetia. All the musical activity of B.A. Galaev is studied and analyzed in detail. In most of the biographies of B.A. Galaev about his participation in the First World War, there is only one proposal that he served in the army and was a bandmaster. For the first time in historiography the participation of B.A. Galaev is analyzed, and it is found out what positions he held, what awards he received, in which battles he participated. Based on the identified documentary sources, for the first time in historiography, it occured that B.A. Galaev was an active participant in the First World War on the Caucasian Front. He went on attacks, both on foot and horse formation, was in reconnaissance, maintained communication between units, received military awards. During this period, he did not have time to study his favorite music, since, according to the documents, he was constantly at the front, in the battle formations of the advanced units. He had to forget all this heroic past and tried not to mention it ever after. Therefore, this period of his life was not studied by the researchers of his biography. For writing this work, the author uses the Highest Orders on the Ranks of the Military and the materials of the Russian State Military Historical Archive (RSMHA).

Relevance. Tomato is one of the most spreaded vegetable cultures in Khabarovsk Territory. Presence of the favourable weather conditions in the region, high ecological plasticity of tomato sorts promote the tomato cultivation in open and protected ground everywhere and in large areas. The main cause of crop failure or large losses of tomatoes in the Far East is a complex, unpredictable, not meeting anywhere else in Russia the monsoon climate causing a strong waterlogging observed almost every year in July-August, the period of the main tomato harvest forming. Such weather conditions promote the development of main diseases of the solanaceous cultures, and their most aggressive races often appear. Therefore a high natural infectious background and a sharply variable hydrothermal regime are the main limiting factors in the cultivation of tomatoes in the Khabarovsk Territory.Methods. Work on the creation of a new variety with the given parameters was started in 2007 by conducting intervarietal crossings between Volgogradsky 5/95 and Zarya Vostoka varieties, followed by multiple selections against a natural infectious background. The early ripening variety of Zarya Vostoka is a local selection variety, was used in the breeding process as an early maturity donor, and Volgogradsky 5/95, a stem type of plant. The main method of breeding work to create new varieties of tomato was analytical with continuous selection. All the necessary phenological, biometric and phytopathological observations and counts according to methods generally accepted in this culture. The purpose of our research was to create a new strain tomato variety with a short period of vegetation, forming the harvest of fruit before the appearance and spread of the disease and high productive potential.Results. This publication presents the information about the new local tomato sort Galant. This sort was received by inter-sort hybridization between the stem sort Volgogradsky 5/95 and local early ripening sort Zarya Vostoka. The sort was selected as a result long-term selection on the natural infectious background with the assessment by progeny of promising lines for a complex of morpho-biological and economically valuable traits in monsoon climate conditions of Priamurye. The new sort is different from other studied non-district and local sorts by fastripeness, high productivity, resistance to main diseases and also by stem type of plant.

This essay reconstructs the career of the 18th-cetnury Neapolitan publicist Giuseppe Maria Galanti, who championed the genre of anthropological geography in the Kingdom of Naples. Although little attention has been paid to Galanti by the English-language historiography, the person and work of the Neapolitan publicist has loomed large in Italian studies on the Enlightenment. In landmark Italian studies, Galanti has been hailed as a clear-sighted reformer committed to the improvement of socioeconomic conditions within the Kingdom. Likewise, the geographical literature he wrote has been read not as such but rather in light of its program of socioeconomic reform. However important that same program was, undue emphasis upon it has conflated his empirical approach to political geography with a connotation of realism that fundamentally has obscured the place of Galanti's project in the history of anthropology and, in particular, the emergence of European ethnography. By reconstructing the career of Galanti, it is my hope to provide a privileged window on what motivated a precocious ethnographer of Europe to undertake the unusual and arduous project of visiting and describing the provinces of his kingdom, on why he chose to conceptualize the terrain of the Kingdom as an object of philosophical study, and on how he understood his vocation in relation to the alternatives available to him as a man of Enlightenment. While bearing in mind the political aims of Galanti's work, this essay will also return it to the context in which it was first conceived and piloted—namely the ethos, epistemology, and professional culture of the human sciences of the Enlightenment city of Naples, which, it can be said, smacked of a Rousseauian contempt for the “civilization” of the capital, for its learned professions, and for the cosmopolitan theories of Europe's most urbane philosophes.

Modification by SUMOs (small ubiquitin-related modifiers) is largely transient and considered to alter protein function through altered protein–protein interactions. These modifications are significant regulators of the response to DNA damage in eukaryotic model organisms and SUMOylation affects a large number of proteins in mammalian cells, including several proteins involved in the response to genomic lesions [Golebiowski, Matic, Tatham, Cole, Yin, Nakamura, Cox, Barton, Mann and Hay (2009) Sci. Signaling 2, ra24]. Furthermore, recent work [Morris, Boutell, Keppler, Densham, Weekes, Alamshah, Butler, Galanty, Pangon, Kiuchi, Ng and Solomon (2009) Nature 462, 886–890; Galanty, Belotserkovskaya, Coates, Polo, Miller and Jackson (2009) Nature 462, 935–939] has revealed the involvement of the SUMO cascade in the BRCA1 (breast-cancer susceptibility gene 1) pathway response after DNA damage. The present review examines roles described for the SUMO pathway in the way mammalian cells respond to genotoxic stress.

Tourism is a major economic source for Egypt, due to its significant natural and cultural attractions. Yet, rapid development and construction of touristic facilities have a negative impact on the fragile natural and cultural heritage. This paper studies the recent touristic developments of the coastal stretch of Ain-Sukhna on the Red Sea coastal region of Galala Mountain, and their impact on the surrounding natural and cultural attractions. Coral reefs and rich marine life have made this stretch among the prime fishing and scuba diving destinations in the world. The area is also famous for its year-round sunny beaches and the spectacular coastal scenic drive where Galala Mountain reaches the Red Sea. Recently, development has started on the mountains following the construction of Galala Mountain Road. Galala City started with Galala University and several residential, touristic, and commercial facilities. This paper studies the pattern of development in the area during the past 40 years and assesses its impact on natural and cultural resources.

Behind the simplicity of his poetry hides a deep philosophical meaning about the nature of karma phala. The megala-galaan game with the singing Goak Maling Taluh implementation of fun learning concepts, a traditional Balinese educational concept that emphasizes aspects of learning while playing, and playing while learning.

Glaresis gentile sp. nov. is described from southwestern Sardinia, Italy, providing the first record of the family Glaresidae from Italy. The new species is compared with the other western European species and with some other taxa described from North Africa. It appears to be closest to the poorly known Iberian G. thiniensis Verdú & Galante, 2001, whose aedeagus morphology is precised. Finally, a key to the European species is provided. We estimate the models subject to regularity and provide a comparison between the different versions. We argue that the AIM(3) model estimated subject to global curvature currently provides the best specification for research in semiparametric modeling of consumer demand systems.

Often disparaged as awkward (when not neglected entirely), these pieces deserve rehabilitation for the insights they can bring to the composer's masterworks. Influenced by local Rhenish models—Christian Gottlob Neefe, Andrea Luchesi, and Johann Franz Xaver Sterkel, the Bonner Zeit music imbues a galant style with Empfindsam colorings, producing an idiosyncratic approach to transitions and genre blending—particularly involving cue play surrounding multiple medial caesuras, elisions, phrase expansions, and undermined secondary themes—that responds immediately to Janet Schmalfeldt's perspective on the process of becoming as well as a mix of ideas from Heinrich Schenker, William Caplin, and the work of James Hepokoski and Warren Darcy, all applied here. Three of Beethoven's Bonn sonatas, as well as several works by Rhineland contemporaries, are given close study for their transition-related harmony, voice leading, phrase rhythm, topics, and formal implications.

Being the largest archipelagic state in the world (± 81 000 km of coastline), Indonesia has a great potential for developing the aquaculture industry. But, the accomplishment of sustainable practices and management systems are still in its infancy. Therefore, it is vital to improve aquaculture technology and develop management tools that address the need for an eco-friendly production process. In this manuscript, the Decision Support System software is applied for the management of sustainable floating net cage finfish cultures. This software integrates physical, chemical, biological properties and information on coastal uses to determine site selection, production carrying capacity, ecological carrying capacity and socio-economic assessment of 18 cases, focusing on the economic viability of Tiger grouper [Epinephelus fuscoguttatus (Forsskål, 1775)], Humpback grouper [Cromoliptes altivelis (Valenciennes, 1828)] and Leopard Coral grouper [Plectropomeus leopardus (Lacepède, 1802)] at three remote areas in Indonesia, including: Ekas Bay, Talise and Galang Island. The outcomes demonstrate that only Galang Island provides a suitable area of 12 940 ha with the estimated production carrying capacity of (0.5 to 366) t/annual per fish farm along with ecological carrying capacity are limited of (18 393 to 21 727) t/annual and economic evaluation highlighted that all cultures development are economically viable.

Sembulang is located in a strategic maritime location and supports the majority of the local population to work as fishermen. In addition, Sembulang is also directly adjacent to the waters of Mubut Island which is one of the favorite tourist attractions in Batam and also to the waters leading to Bintan and Tanjungpinang, making it a popular port for people in that location. However, until now there has not been an official sea map or cruise line map for traditional fishing boats / local transportation to support economic and tourism activities there. The flow of a cruise is very closely related to the depth of a waters. Water depth data can be used by fishermen and boat captains as a reference when they are sailing across Sembulang Beach. The purpose of this study was to analyze the bathymetry conditions in Sembulang Beach, Galang, which were used as a reference for safe and efficient ship grooves considerations. Bathymetry mapping is done by using multibeam echosounder to create a seafloor topographic map at the research location which is then analyzed based on the depth and width of the cruise line which is ideal for the specifications of traditional fishing vessels. Based on the analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that only ships with size <5 GT with the form of "V" Pump Boat, "V", "V" High Bow, "V" Katir, "V" Without Katir, "U" Katir and 5 GTs with safe "U" and "V" shapes to be anchored at Sembulang pier. In other words, traditional fishing boats with a size of GT 10 GT are not recommended to dock at the pier.

In the mid-1950s Olive Pink campaigned to have an area of land in Alice Springs set aside as a flora reserve. In 1956 the area was gazetted as the Australian Arid Regions Flora Reserve, with Pink appointed as honorary curator. Although Pink was not a professional horticulturalist or botanist, she established a garden that marked itself out from contemporary gardens, such as Maranoa Gardens and the Australian National Botanic Gardens, which were similarly committed to showcasing indigenous Australian plants. Pink's approach was pioneering in that she aimed to create a collection of plants selected by a delineated ‘climatic zone' and geographic area rather than drawn from all parts of the continent. This article argues that Pink developed a distinctive form of horticultural work informed by her passion for and close artistic observation of desert flora; her long experience establishing and maintaining gardens under central Australian ecological conditions; along with her anthropological insight into Indigenous knowledge of flora gained through her studies with Arrernte and Warlpiri people. Today we might recognize the principles that informed Pink's garden through the concepts of ‘water-wise gardens' and environmental sustainability practices.

Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) have been added to infant formulas and conventional foods as prebiotics all over the world. The present study was conducted to assess the subchronic toxicity of a GOS syrup (VITAGOS™) when administered orally by gavage daily at 0, 1020, 2041, and 4082 mg GOS syrup/kg/day to male and female Sprague-Dawley rats to deliver doses of 0, 500, 1000, and 2000 mg GOS/kg/day for 90 days. Throughout the entire treatment period, no abnormal clinical signs or mortalities were observed. Similarly, no test article-related toxicologically adverse findings were seen in body weight, feed consumption, ophthalmological findings, hematology, coagulation, clinical chemistry, urinalysis, organ weights, and gross pathology or histopathology. Significant increases in the cecum weight of males and females treated with 2000 mg GOS/kg/day were associated with mucosal hypertrophy/hyperplasia; no changes in the cecum were noted at lower doses. The organ weight and histopathological changes noted in the cecum are consistent with findings in rats administered other poorly digestible and fermentable substances; thus, this is considered to be an adaptive rather than toxic response. The No-Observed-Adverse-Effect-Levels for VITAGOS™ is 4082 mg GOS syrup/kg body weight/day or 2000 mg GOS/kg body weight/day.

The article analyses the dialogue happening between two historical periods inside the fairy-tale context of Beauty and the Beast: a story with its origins in the late days of the ‘gallant’ age and on the cusp of the Age of Enlightenment. A product of the conflict between the two, the fairy-tale provides ample inspiration for contemporary re-tellers of classical stories. The original work by Madame de Villeneuve centres on the idea of assimilation of a territory, its colonization and its integration into the political and economic context of the inhabited world. The same idea is taken up and reinforced by the American author M. Lackey, who considered the French original and its origination period through the concept of a national idea, in particular, the notion of the ‘hearth’. The article demonstrates how this idea, reaching its peak during the American Enlightenment, helped Lackey to transform the original’s colonization motifs and endow the classical plot with new prospects. In her ‘domestication’ of the fairy-tale world, Lackey delivers it a paradoxical blow at the end of the story, and turns de Villeneuve’s triumph of civilization into a more relevant ideal of freedom and unlimited opportunities, where the female protagonist enjoys emancipation and is invested with her rights.

In this study will discuss about the Study of Coffee Plant Propagation (Coffea spp) With Leaf Cut. The research was conducted in March - June 2011 in Galang Suka Village, Galang Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency. This research was conducted by Randomized Complete Design (RAL) Factorial with two factors. The first factor is a coffee leaf (D) consisting of two levels of treatment. D1 = The base of the leaf without the petiole, D2 = Leaf tip. The second factor is Nutrition (N) which consists of six levels of treatment. N0 = Rotone-F 200 mg / l, N3 = Growtone 200 mg / l, N4 = Growtone 300 mg / l, N5 = Dekamon 2 cc / 10 liters. From the results of the study it can be concluded that leaf tip (D2) cuttings given Growtone 200 mg / l (N3D2) survive until the end of the study, as well as leaf tip (D2) cuttings given Dekamon 2cc / 10 l (N5D2) although the numbers are only 1.23 and 1.06 and N3D2 is better than N5D2.

Кантемира, которая проявляется, прежде всего, в эпистолярном жанре XVIII века и реализуется в трактате «Разговоры о множестве миров» Б. Фонтенеля. Под «галантным диалогом» понимаются равноуважительные отношения в общении собеседников при сохранении ими статусных ролей, которые влияют на изменение в первую очередь авторского статуса в литературе. Сама установка на «разговор» вне официоза, то есть сложившейся риторической системы, уже означала поворот российской словесности в сторону ее дериторизации, а также более активное проявление авторского начала. А.Д. Кантемир, который находился у истоков новой российской литературы, освобожденной от мощного религиозного наполнения, обращается в поиске «свободного» литературного канона к Фонтенелю, защищающего, как известно, в споре между древними и новыми авторами позицию Ш. Перро, провозгласившего галантность - качеством новой французской литературы. В статье рассматриваются составляющие элементы «галантного диалога» А. Кантемира с сестрой Марией, среди которых называются: любезное обращение к адресату, шифрование или придумывание прозвища для известного лица, имени которого не называется; заверения в любви и рыцарской преданности, афористические высказывания, свидетельствующие о знании собеседником светского общества. При помощи культурно-исторического метода выявляется не только генезис рассматриваемого явления, но и обозначается специфика развития «галантного диалога» в русской литературе XVIII века. Результат данного исследования позволяет по-новому взглянуть на отечественный литературный процесс XVIII века с точки зрения развития авторского начала в российской литературе, увидеть проявление тех литературных закономерностей, которые в полной мере проявят себя в литературной ситуации второй половины XVIII века, а точнее в период царствования императрицы Екатерины II. The article considers the problem of "gallant dialogue" as an author 's strategy in the work of A.D. Cantemir, which manifests itself, first of all, in the epistolar genre of the 18th century and is implemented in the tract "Talk of many worlds" by B. Fontenel. "Gallant dialogue" refers to equal respectful relations in the dialogue of interlocutors while maintaining status roles, which affect the change of copyright status in the literature in the first place. The installation itself on the "conversation" outside the waitosis, that is, the established rhetorical system, has already meant the turn of Russian language towards its deritorization, as well as a more active manifestation of the author 's beginning. A.D. Cantemir, who was at the origin of new Russian literature freed from powerful religious content, turns in the search for a "free" literary canon to Fontenel, defending, as is known, in the dispute between ancient and new authors the position of Sh Perro, who proclaimed gallantry - the quality of new French literature. The article considers the constituent elements of A. Cantemir's "gallant dialogue" with his sister Maria, among which are called: courtesy of the addressee, encryption or inventing a nickname for a famous person whose name is not called; assurances of love and knightly devotion, aphoristic statements testifying to the knowledge of secular society by the interlocutor. The cultural and historical method identifies not only the genesis of the phenomenon in question, but also the specifics of the development of the "gallant dialogue" in the Russian literature of the 18th century. The result of this study makes it possible to take a new look at the domestic literary process of the 18th century from the point of view of the development of the author 's beginning in Russian literature, to see the manifestation of those literary patterns that will fully manifest themselves in the literary situation of the second half of the 18th century, or more precisely during the reign of Empress Catherine II.

In 1704, Abraham Gugger of Augsburg published a ‘Dance of Death’, whose lengthy German title is best abbreviated as Sterb-Spiegel. Only five acknowledged copies exist. Originally the work of brothers Rudolph Theodor and Conrad Meyer of Zürich, the first iteration of the Sterb-Spiegel had appeared in 1650. The posthumous 1704 version, re-engraved by an unknown artist, differs in one essential regard: the clothing of Death's victims has been modernized to represent the fashions of the beginning of the eighteenth century. The illustrations show that death comes to everyone, represented by the different victims at work, home and play in appropriate settings. The Sterb-Spiegel thus depicts the clothing in context and in ‘action’, and further represents all levels of early eighteenth-century society, divided into the ‘Ruling Class’, and the ‘General Home and Worldly Positions’. All are appropriately attired, and the Sterb-Spiegel accurately portrays non-elite garb and accessories. The Mercure Galant had ceased issuing regular fashion plates in the 1680s, and the Mercure de France resumed consistent publication of current styles only in the 1720s; the Sterb-Spiegel, even though it was not the original intention, provides contemporary insights into early eighteenth-century fashions when documentation is relatively sparse.

The AHP method is one of the methods in decision support systems that is unique compared to the others. There are 10 alternative names and 5 criteria in determining layoffs, namely negligence in work (C1), absenteeism (C2), theft of goods (C3), not neat (C4), spreading company disgrace (C5). The results obtained from this study with the highest score is Arya Sinaga with a value of 0.272 which indicates that the alternative with the highest ranking will be dismissed from work.

Period concepts and periodizations are constructions, or readings, and hence always subject to reinterpretation. Many recent scholars have privileged institutional and reception history over style and compositional history, and periodized European music according to the ‘centuries’; but these constructions are no less partial or tendentious than older ones. Recent historiographical writings addressing these issues are evaluated.If we wish to construe the eighteenth century as a music-historical period, we must abandon the traditional notion that it was bifurcated in the middle. Not only did the musical Baroque not last beyond 1720 in most areas, but the years c1720–c1780 constituted a period in their own right, dominated by the international ‘system’ of Italian opera, Enlightenment ideals, neoclassicism, the galant and (after c1760) the cult of sensibility. We may call this the ‘central’ eighteenth century. Furthermore, this period can be clearly distinguished from preceding and following ones. The late Baroque (c1670–c1720) was marked by the rationalization of Italian opera, tragédie lyrique, the standardization of instrumental genres and the rise of ‘strong’ tonality. The period c1780–c1830 witnessed the rise of the ‘regulative work-concept’ (Goehr) and ‘pre-Romanticism’ (Dahlhaus), and the Europe-wide triumph of ‘Viennese modernism’, including the first autonomous instrumental music and a central role in the rise of the modern (post-revolutionary) world, symbolized by Haydn’s sublime in The Creation.A tripartite reading of a ‘long’ eighteenth-century in music history along these lines seems more nearly adequate than either baroque/classical or 1700–1800 as a single, undifferentiated period.

This study also used the socio-historical approach that correlates with the Eldorado poem.The symbols of Eldorado poem, a gallant knight, Eldorado, shadow, a pilgrim shadow, shade, and over the mountains represent the meaning, where Eldorado is true of a wealthy city made of gold. However, Eldorado is not a place but a person. The whole journey of Europeans to find a golden city is in vain. Eldorado's poem is related to the symbol of time in 1849 in California, where the attitude of the Muisca tribe is different from the people of Europe who see gold as a symbol of wealth, as well as power. Furthermore, the minds of Europeans who heard the story were only fascinated by how much gold was thrown into the lake or buried in shrines throughout Colombia. Not the meaning of gold itself. That is why Poe revealed a poem entitled Eldorado which means that Eldorado itself was a rich king who had covered his entire body with gold.

In Old World monkeys, the U2 genes were organized as a tandem repeat of an 11-kb element; the restriction maps of the 11-kb elements in baboon and two closely related macaques, bonnet and rhesus monkeys, also differed slightly, confirming that efficient sequence homogenization is an intrinsic property of the U2 tandem array. Interestingly, the 11-kb monkey repeat unit differed from the 6-kb hominid repeat unit by a 5-kb block of monkey-specific sequence. Finally, we found that the U2 genes of the prosimian galago were dispersed rather than tandemly repeated, suggesting that the hominid and Old World monkey U2 tandem arrays resulted from independent amplifications of a common ancestral U2 gene. GalAGs (galactosaminoglycans) are one subset of the GAG (glycosaminoglycan) family of chemically heterogeneous polysaccharides that are involved in a wide range of biological processes. These complex biomacromolecules are believed to be responsible for the inhibition of nerve regeneration following injury to the central nervous system. The enzymic degradation of GAG chains in damaged nervous tissue by cABC I (chondroitinase ABC I), a broad-specificity lyase that degrades GalAGs, promotes neural recovery. In the present paper, we report the subcloning of cABC I from Proteus vulgaris, and discuss a simple methodology for the recombinant expression and purification of this enzyme. The originally expressed cABC I clone resulted in an enzyme with negligible activity against a variety of GalAG substrates. Sequencing of the cABC I clone revealed four point mutations at issue with the electron-density data of the cABC I crystal structure. Site-directed mutagenesis produced a clone with restored GalAG-degrading function. We have characterized this enzyme biochemically, including an analysis of its substrate specificity. By coupling structural inspections of cABC I and an evaluation of sequence homology against other GAG-degrading lyases, a set of amino acids was chosen for further study. Mutagenesis studies of these residues resulted in the first experimental evidence of cABC I's active site. This work will facilitate the structure–function characterization of biomedically relevant GalAGs and further the development of therapeutics for nerve regeneration.

In the 1580s, Sir Philip Sidney set about writing his major work, Arcadia. The unfinished composition of this huge pastoral romance stretched over several years, and it was published posthumously. Its dissemination abroad, and notably in France, was rapid. Arcadia was in fact translated several times from the beginning of the seventeenth century, thanks to a handful of French scholars who readily crossed the channel to refine their understanding of the English language. Moreover, the pastoral romance was adapted three times for the French stage between the outset of the seventeenth century and 1642, by Galaut, La Calprenède and Mareschal successively. Thus literary trajectories and singular dramatic continuities emerge, which lead to the questioning of both the mechanisms of theatrical adaption and the historical foundations of cultural transfers between France and England.

But if Scheibe insisted on a quality of striking simplicity, using words clearly indebted to those of Nicolas Boileau, the doyen of seventeenth-century French critics, he was no classicist according to the French model. While all classicists depend to a certain degree on the regulation of their material – for such regulation aids them in their quest for the perfect fit between parts and whole – they will differ in how they choose to balance the codification of technique and the regulation of style, on the one hand, with the evocation of emphatic or ‘sublime’ experiences, on the other. If Boileau sought the ‘marvellous’ quality that strikes like lightening, Scheibe wished for clarity. Drawing on scholarship in the history of literature, this article first examines the origins and point of French classicist literary aesthetics, then traces the fate of these aesthetics as they were transferred from France to Germany and from literature to music.

The path of those who would approach the study of Bentham's writings on Evidence has been considerably smoothed by the recent publication of William Twining's work on the evidence theories of Bentham and Wigmore. The material on evidence is now being tackled by the Bentham Project. It presents no easy task. The central core, The Rationale of Judicial Evidence, edited and published by John Stuart Mill in 1827, exists only in the printed version, the MSS from which Mill worked having disappeared. But a substantial body of related material which survives has yet to be thoroughly investigated, though William Twining has made a gallant start. A new edition of the work hitherto known as ‘An Introductory View of the Rationale of Evidence’, first printed in full in the Bowring edition of the Works of Jeremy Bentham is in preparation. The first fruits of this endeavour is that the title of that work as it should appear in due course in the new Collected Works will be Introduction to the Rationale of Evidence: An Introductory View for the Use of Lawyers as well as Non-lawyers, the title in fact given to the work by Bentham. It is intended that what follows should similarly be of use to non-lawyers as well as lawyers.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pleurotus isolat sp.6dan sp.8 tumbuh baik pada media MPA, isolat Pleurotus sp.1, 3 dan 4pada media MEA dan isolate sp.2 pada media PDA. Kecuali isolat sp.8,isolat lainnya tidak dapat tumbuh pada temperatur 10 dan 35 o C. Pertum-buhan isolat sp.8 terbaik dibandingkan isolat lainnya pada semuatemperatur. Diameter koloni isolat lainnya hanya mencapai 0,2 – 2,33 cm.Pertumbuhan isolat sp.8 juga terbaik pada semua pH media diikuti isolatsp.6 kemudian isolat sp.4. Another physiological character studiedwas the ability to oxidize tannic and gallic acids in agar medium. Resultsshowed that isolates Pleurotus sp.6 and -8 grew better in MPA medium,Pleurotus sp.1, -3, and -4 in MEA, and Pleurotus sp.2 in PDA. ExceptPleurotus sp.8, other isolates could not grow in incubation roomtemperature of 10 and 35 o C. The growth of Pleurotus sp.8 was the bestamong the isolates in all temperature levels. Pinus pinaster wood samples were subjected to chemical processing for manufacturing furans and organic acids from the polysaccharide fractions (cellulose and hemicellulose). The operation was performed in a single reaction stage at 180 or 190 °C, using a microwave reactor. The reaction media contained wood, water, methyl isobutyl ketone, and an acidic ionic liquid, which acted as a catalyst. In media catalyzed with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate, up to 60.5% pentosan conversion into furfural was achieved, but the conversions of cellulose and (galacto) glucomannan in levulinic acid were low. Improved results were achieved when AILs bearing a sulfonated alkyl chain were employed as catalysts. In media containing 1-(3-sulfopropyl)-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate as a catalyst, near quantitative conversion of pentosans into furfural was achieved at a short reaction time (7.5 min), together with 32.8% conversion of hexosans into levulinic acid. Longer reaction times improved the production of organic acids, but resulted in some furfural consumption. A similar reaction pattern was observed in experiments using 1-(3-sulfobutyl)-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate as a catalyst.

In 1739, two years before his death, Vivaldi sold a group of five psalms to the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice. All but one of these psalms had been identified and located prior to May 2003, when the missing work, a Nisi Dominus in A major for three solo singers, five obbligato instruments and strings, turned up in Dresden as the unexpected by-product of a routine inspection. Like one of the other psalms belonging to the same group, the Beatus vir rv795, this new discovery, rv803, is attributed in its Dresden source to Baldassarre Galuppi. The misattribution appears to have been an act of deliberate falsification by the Venetian copyist Iseppo Baldan, who slipped the two Vivaldi compositions in to a large consignment of sacred vocal works, mainly by Galuppi, dispatched to the Saxon Hofkapelle in the late 1750s. The new Nisi Dominus is noteworthy for the high level of vocal virtuosity that all eight movements demand and for its use of rare instruments (viola d’amore, tenor chalumeau and violino in tromba marina) to lend added colour in individual movements. It is also a striking example of Vivaldi’s ‘late’ manner, which, although influenced by the galant style of younger composers, remains true to his personal idiom. At the same time, it rivals the oratorio Juditha triumphans as a showcase for the diverse talents of the Pietà’s female musicians.

It is one of the six concerts for two bound organs destined for the infant of Spain, their festive character not being accidental. From the very beginning, Soler guides in finding the right tempo to create the royal atmosphere. It should be noted that this concert is the only one of the six with an anacrusis profile. In part 2, Soler greets us with Minué, the refinement and gallant style of the beloved dance developing during 4 variations. As a whole, this concert is a real jewel of instrumental complexity in a balanced construction of expressive richness. Noble, singable and virtuoso, Soler's complex language capitalizes on the three facets of the artist who brings them on stage: the expressive performer, the virtuoso instrumentalist and the inquisitive musician.

Much recent work has centered on the structure of interfaces in polycrystalline sintered ceramic and ceramic composite materials. The suggestion that most interfaces are wetted by a thin (1-10 nm) amorphous layer has been tested by the use of high resolution imaging, along with some work being done using microanalytical techniques. This study utilizes a system developed to acquire numerous electron energy loss spectra with a parallel detector while scanning a small electron probe across the various interfaces.The work was performed on a Philips EM400ST equipped with a high-intensity field emission gun capable of producing a probe with a “diameter” of 2±.5 nm and a current of up to 5 nA . The parallel EELS spectrometer was a Galan 666 equipped with a 1024-channel photodiode array coupled to a YAG scintillator, capable of full spectrum acquisition in as little as 25 msec with an energy resolution of < 1 eV. The PEELS was controlled byan MCA microcomputer designed at ASU, which also controls the probe scan sychronously with the multiple spectrum acquisition by an external voltage added to the beam deflection circuit from a set of DACs.

In this work, some marble types were collected from Egypt, and their shielding characteristics were estimated. Their rigidity, in addition to their elegant shape, led us to consider their use as a protective shield, in addition to making the workplace more beautiful. The mass attenuation coefficient (μ/ρ) was calculated for three types of marble (Breshia, Galala, and Trista) experimentally, using a narrow gamma ray source and high pure germanium (HPGe). The results obtained were compared with the XCOM program and indicated a very good agreement between the two methods. The linear attenuation coefficient (μ) was evaluated to calculate the half and tenth value layers. The maximum μ value of 1.055, 1.041, and 1.024 cm−1 was obtained for Breshia, Galala, and Trista, respectively, at 0.06 MeV. The mean free path for studying the materials was compared with other shielding materials and showed good results at different energy scales. The energy absorption (EABF) and exposure buildup factors (EBF) were determined at different mean free paths. The fast neutron removal cross section ΣR was calculated and expresses the ability of the marbles to slow down fast neutrons through multiple scattering. This is the ability of the marbles to shield fast neutrons.

The paper aims to show that the children with learning diabilities have a high level of unconstrained primitive reflexes and that their undeserved suffering also comes from the increased presence of instinctive reflexive movements. This qualitative study is conducted with 20% of the children with learning disabilities 6-10 years old,in the city of Vlora,Albania. Also their cognitive development is held “as hostage” by stumbling power of the reflexive movements for the creation of new nerve pathways and schemes. The study is represented by a rich references with contemporary information on the role of primitive neurological reflexes in utero, in the first years of life and the non-integration consequences within their biological time. The study primarily measured the primitive retained reflexes in children in the study. As an instrument for measuring primitive reflexes, the study used "home test" developed by Sally Goddard Blythe. Measurements were made in just eight primitive reflexes based on the work of Petter and Sally Goddard Blythe; Moro, Rooting, Sucking, ATNR, TLR, Handheld, Galant, and STNR. Data were collected from the measurements on the type and percentage of the retained primitive reflexes. It was proven that children with learning disorders have a high level of retained primitive reflexes compared to other children. The findings of this study lead to the need for scientific research to inhibit the primitive reflexes at a young age, but also when they are present beyond their biological age.

Robert Gjerdingen has claimed that schema finding diverges from contrapuntal pitch reduction, Schenkerian or otherwise. Commentators have criticized his approach (see the reviews by Joel Lester in Journal of Music Theory [1990] and Kofi Agawu in Music Theory Spectrum [1991]) and have discussed intersections between schemata and contrapuntal reduction (see the articles by Folker Froebe and Oliver Schwab-Felisch in Music Theory and Analysis [2014] and by Stefan Rohringer in Zeitschrift der Gesellschaft für Musiktheorie [2015]). Here I address this conundrum from a different angle: I propose that schema analysis may be approximated by two heuristics, which are closely related to the issue identified in Fred Lerdahl and Ray Jackendoff's A Generative Theory of Tonal Music (1983) as finding the head of a time span. By giving the highest priority to tritone resolutions within a metric segment and otherwise realigning consonances with strong beats by removing dissonances, it is possible to approximate the reductive workings of schema analysis. This is demonstrated through a preliminary sample of two hundred tacit reductive decisions from Gjerdingen's Music in the Galant Style. I suggest the possibility that Gjerdingen's locally top-down search for complete patterns interacts with a more bottom-up, implicit reductive process, regardless of the identity of the emergent schema. I also discuss some of the potential implications of the heuristics for theory and analysis as well as for interdisciplinary work on schema finding.

The low level of legumes in New Zealand hill pastoral systems is a recognized problem that is likely to affect sustainability. The relative importance of the factors that cause low legume abundance has not been sufficiently tested, especially on dry hill country. This paper reports the effects of grass suppression in two contrasting years in a summer-dry hill country site on the east coast of the North Island. Suppressing grass with haloxyfop herbicide (Gallant) in late autumn increased legume abundance by > 25% in both years, but the response patterns were strongly influenced by soil moisture status. Moist late spring and summer conditions produced 34% more legume growth in both ± herbicide treatments. Residual effects of grass suppression favoured white clover over subterranean clover growth under moist seasonal conditions. The control of grass growth in these hill swards improved legume abundance, but the overriding factor affecting legume content in the pasture was the level of soil moisture. Relevance. Khabarovsk region is considered to be the zone of risky agriculture. It is characterized by the monsoon climate (july - september), having no analogies in Russia by univen distribution of precipitation, temperature drops and high natural infections background. That is why the search of tomato sorts, responsive to environmental changes, with increased or stable yield is highly relevant. The aim of our perennial researches in the creation of highly productive sorts and hybrids of tomato, most fully realizing natural and climatic conditions of cultivation, having higher stability to the most harmful diseases, stress environmental factors and high productive potential. The most significant limiting factors when growing tomatoes in the region are high natural infections background and sharply variable hydrothermal regime, formed under the influence of the Priamurye monsoon climate.Methods. The selection work had been made on vegetable plot of DV NIISH. The seedlings had been growing by cassette method into film greenhouse, which had been no had heating. Then the seedlings was planted out into open ground in accordance with bed technology recommended in the region by scheme 140 X 35 cm. The main method of selection work of new tomato sorts creation was analytical with continious selection. All the necessary phenological, biometrical and psychopathological observations and accounts had been done by generally accepted methodics.Results. The results in development of tomato selection in DV NIISH was the creation of sorts with different ripening time: early ripe – Zarya Vostokа and middle ripe – Amursky Utios and Dunyasha. They were included in the State registry of selection achievements in 2008 year. Sorts Klad and Galant passed successfully the state sort tests and were included in the state registry of selection achievements in 2017 and 2018 years. All these sorts are recommended for growing in garden plots, private plots and farms.

This is a preliminary study in the selection of Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) site in Batam's Barelang area to support industrial growth in the area in the future. The initial site selection was conducted in 2015 and 2017 in the pre-survey phase, considering hydrogeological aspect. The results of previous research showed four potential areas, namely Pasir Panjang Beach, Tanjung Batu, Dapur 3 and Tanjung Rame. The hydrogeological aspect plays an important role in the consideration of site acceptance. This is related to the consideration of potential flow of radioactively contaminated groundwater seepage in the site area, in the event of a potential release. The acceptance of the NPP site from the hydrogeological aspect is based on the site’s permeable geological formation and porosity condition, where groundwater can be stored. The purpose of the study was to assess the potential site in Galang Sub-district, Batam City based on hydrogeological aspects which include surface geology, groundwater productivity and rock porosity. Research methods include primary and secondary data collection, literature review and ranking analysis. The results showed that Tanjung Batu, Dapur 3 and Tanjung Rame could be chosen as the potential sites for NPP based on the hydrogeological aspect. The three regions have surface geology in the form of sandstone, clay and claystone rock with medium rock porosity level and medium groundwater productivity. Pasir Panjang Beach is less preferable because it has a high porosity of rocks with the productivity of aquifers is being spread widely. Key Words: Hydrogeology; Site selection; Acceptance of NPP site
