Abstract:
Although almost 50 species of Galumnidae (Oribatida) have been recorded in Japan, more species remain undiscovered. In the present work, we propose two new species from southern Japan, Trichogalumna boninensis sp. nov. and T. ohkuboi sp. nov., and provide an additional description of T. imperfecta Ohkubo, 1984. Trichogalumna boninensis sp. nov. can be distinguished from other closely related species by the smaller body size, and the large granular ornamentation along the hinges of the pteromorphs. Trichogalumna ohkuboi sp. nov. can be distinguished from other closely related species by the absence of granular ornamentation on the proximal margin of the dorsal surface of the pteromorph, the striated genital plates, the absence of granular ornamentation on the humeral region of the notogaster, the short lamellar and interlamellar setae, the distantly located porose areas of A1 and A2, and the different number of epimeral setae. Furthermore, we present data on habitat ecology and biogeography of Japanese species of Trichogalumna, and a key is provided for identification of all species in the world.

Abstract:
The nymphal instars of two species, Pergalumna myrmophila (Berlese, 1914) and P. striatiprodorsum Ermilov, Alvarado-Rodríguez & Retana-Salazar, 2014, based on materials from Russia and the Antilles, respectively, are described and illustrated. The nymphs of these species are generally similar in their habitus. Basic characteristics of nymphs are the well-developed transverse furrow on the gastronotic shield as well as circumgenital and adanal macrosclerites; the gastronotic setae d-, l-, h- and p-series, which are represented by their alveoli, and the position of famulus ɛ on tarsus I. Additionally, comparative analyses of juvenile instars of species belonging to Galumnidae are given based on our own data and available literature sources.

Abstract:
Based on the study of type material, other historical specimens, and new collections, the adult of the thelytokous oribatid mite Oribata curva Ewing, 1907 (Galumnidae) is redescribed and the name is recombined to Trichogalumna curva (Ewing, 1907) comb. nov. A confusing history of synonymies and misidentifications is traced in detail, and their effect on published statements about biogeography is assessed. Reliable records of T. curva are only those from North America. The tropical mite Pergalumna ventralis (Willmann, 1932) is not a subspecies of T. curva. The widely-reported Trichogalumna nipponica (Aoki, 1966) and other similar species form a complex with T. curva that needs further morphological and molecular assessment.

Abstract:
The present study is based on oribatid mite material (Acari, Oribatida) collected in 2016 from herbaceous-grassy vegetation from a ReviTec site, University of Ngaoundéré, Cameroon. A list of identified taxa, including 29 species from 23 genera and 12 families, is provided; of these, one species is new to science, one species (Pseudoamerioppia barrancensis) is recorded in the Ethiopian region for the first time, and all other species are recorded in Cameroon for the first time. A new subgenus of the genus Pilizetes Sellnick, 1937 (Galumnidae), Pilizetes (Pseudopilizetes) Ermilov subgen. nov., with type species Pilizetes (Pseudopilizetes) camerunensis Ermilov sp. nov., is described. The new subgenus differs from Pilizetes (Pilizetes) by the presence of setiform notogastral setae, a complete dorsosejugal suture and bothridial setae with unilaterally dilated heads.

Abstract:
Two new species of the subgenus Galumna (Galumna) (Oribatida, Galumnidae) are described from leaf litter of evergreen rain forest in eastern Madagascar. Galumna brevilineata sp. nov. differs from its closest species Galumna (Galumna) anuakensis Ermilov, 2019 and Galumna paracalcicola Ermilov & Anichkin 2014 by the length of interlamellar and lamellar setae, the localization of notogastral lyrifissures im, the ornamentation of anogenital region, the morphology of bothridial setae and postanal porose area, and the absence of median pore. Galumna (Galumna) paraarmatifera sp. nov. differs from its closest species Galumna armatifera Mahunka, 1996 by the morphology of bothridial setae and anal plates, and the length of circumpedal carinae. An identification key to species of Galumna (Galumna) of the calcicola-group (species with short lamellar lines) was presented.

Abstract:
Three new species of oribatid mites of the family Galumnidae are described from soil and coniferous litter of Hogsback State Forest, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. Pilogalumna hogsbackensis sp. nov. differs from Pilogalumna tenuiclava and P. ornatula by the presence of elongate oval postanal porose area and narrowly unilaterally dilated bothridial head. Pergalumna amatholensis sp. nov. differs from Pergalumna distincta by the presence of smaller body size, rounded rostrum, unilaterally dilated bothridial head, one pair of notogastral porose areas Aa, and the localization of opisthonotal gland opening and lyrifissure im. Stictozetes ihaguensis sp. nov. differs from all species of the genus by presence of bothridial seta with narrowly dilated head and median pore in both genders. An identification key to known species of Stictozetes is presented.

Abstract:
Three new species of oribatid mites of the genus Pergalumna from a tropical rain forest in Veracruz, Mexico are described. Pergalumna hypergranulosa sp. nov. differs from Pergalumna granulatus Balogh & Mahunka, 1967 by unilaterally barbulated bothridial setae, elongated notogastric porose areas, and also a more profuse granulation of the cerotegument. Pergalumna obsidiana sp. nov. differs from P. granulatus by the unilateral barbulation of bothridial setae and the presence of protuberances on the genital plates; from Pergalumna paralongisetosa Ermilov & Kalúz, 2012 by a diverging cerotegumental granulation on the notogaster. Pergalumna dactylaris sp. nov. differs from Pergalumna striata (Pérez-Íñigo & Baggio, 1980) by its bigger size and the presence of three notogastric porose areas instead of four and from Pergalumna decorata Balogh & Mahunka, 1977, also by the bigger size, a different position of setae lm and la and smaller but not minute interlamellar setae. These are the first Mexican species descriptions of this genus.
