Abstract:
The decay [Formula: see text] is investigated beyond the standard model. Interestingly, the upper limit of the CP-conserving and CP-violating branching ratios of the decay, induced from the possible extensions of the standard model, would be larger than the corresponding branching ratios given in the standard model respectively, and it is expected that the CP-violating part could be enhanced.

Lepton flavor violating (cLFV) decays of charged leptons such as \(\tau\rightarrow \mu\gamma\), \(\tau\rightarrow e\gamma\), \(\mu\rightarrow e\gamma\),..., are now the subjects of experiments as signals of new Physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). In the limit of the unitary gauge, we prove that contributions from one loop corrections to the above decays are very small in the framework of the economical 3-3-1 model.

Abstract:
The μνSSM, one of supersymmetric extensions beyond the Standard Model, introduces three singlet right-handed neutrino superfields to solve the μ problem and can generate three tiny Majorana neutrino masses through the seesaw mechanism. In this paper, we investigate the rare decay process [Formula: see text] in the μνSSM, under a minimal flavor violating assumption for the soft breaking terms. Constrained by the SM-like Higgs with mass around 125 GeV, the numerical results show that the new physics can fit the experimental data for [Formula: see text] and further constrain the parameter space.

Abstract:
We have developed a functional fit which can be used to represent the entire temporal decay of the X-ray afterglow of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). The fit delineates and parameterizes well-defined phases for the decay: the prompt emission; an initial steep decay; a shallow plateau phase; and finally, a powerlaw afterglow. For 20% of GRBs, the plateau phase is weak, or not seen, and the initial powerlaw decay becomes the final afterglow. We compare the temporal decay parameters and X-ray spectral indices for 107 GRBs discovered by Swift with the expectations of the standard fireball model including

Electromagnetic radiative penguin decays of the B meson were studied with the BABAR detector at SLAC's PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory. Branching fractions and isospin asymmetry of the decay B → K*γ, branching fractions of [Formula: see text], and a search for B0 → ϕγ are presented. The decay rates may be enhanced by contributions from non-standard model processes.

Abstract:
Radiative penguin decays of B mesons are favour-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes, studies of which provide fertile ground for precision tests of the Standard Model. Because such decays must proceed through 1-loop or higher order processes, they are rare and their amplitudes are particularly sensitive to interference from other FCNC interactions beyond the SM. This thesis presents the search for the rare radiative penguin process b -> d gamma, carried out at the BABAR experiment.

Weak-scale supersymmetry is one of the most favoured theories beyond the Standard Model of particle physics that elegantly solves various theoretical and observational problems in both particle physics and cosmology. I discuss how the predictions of supersymmetric models may be compared with observational data from both colliders and cosmology. I show why constraints on supersymmetric parameters by direct and in
