Full textOur research work was concerned with four main characteristics of Spanich poetry in its most contemporary form : hybridations, intermedialities, porosity and marginality. We studied the poetic writings of seven poets born between 1962 and 1990 : Manuel Vilas, Jorge Riechmann, Agustin Fernandez Mallo, Vicente Luis Mora, Pablo Garcia Casado, Begona Callejon and Luna Miguel. These seven poets are representative of a creative revival that leans heavely on an openness towards concerns of a social and scientific nature but also common and day-to-day lite. Within this context, the question of what defines poetry becomes ail the more powerful. As never before,theses-poetic incursions within the non-poetic world throw everything into flux. These boundary crossings enable one to better grasp the process of poetic creation and what is : poetry undergoing transformations via feedback with regard toits metapoetic explorations and its relationship with the outside world

Full textJosé Uriel Garcia, Hildebrando Castro Pozo and José Antonio Encinas have started thinking from a new angle in terms of the intermixing and integration of indians in the development of peruvian nationality. In doing so, they have gone against what were the main intellectual trends of peru in the twenties, which saw the roots of peruvian nationality either in its indian population and pre-hispanic past - indigenism and its defenders - or in the spanish heritage - the hispanicism of conservative intellectuals. Their viewpoint goes together with a considerable amount of research done on the spot in contact with andean populations. Thanks to these innovations, these three intellectuals have contributed to moving peruvian studies into modern social sciences. Yet, for reasons that are mainly ideological, their contribution has been neglected in the history of ideas in Peru. J. U. Garcia has developed a wide-ranging theory - from history, ethnology, culture, economics, to sociology, politics, art, identity - on the subject of the process of american racial integration. On the way, he has laid the foundation for further studies on cultural syncretism and acculturation. H. Castro Pozo is the first writer to draw a full ethnographic picture of indigenous communities and to study their evolution. In addition, he has devised new revolutionary strategies that show the way for the indian population to become part of Peru's racialy-integrated future. In education, J. A. Encinas has, by using his experience as a teacher in an indian community, expressed a modern idea that helps peruvian education rid itself of its colonial paradigm so as to integrate the indian population. To do so, he has called people to a two-pronged revolution in education and society. The purpose of our thesis is to make the work of J. U. Garcia, H. Castro Pozo and J. A. Encinas known. By so doing, we hope to throw a new light on the whole of peruvian intellectual

Full textThe aim of this study is to analyse Garcia Lorca's poetic and dramatic use of stage directions with special reference to three plays : Bodas de Sangre , Yerma and La casa de Bernada Alba .There is no denying that since the birth of enunciative linguistics and drama speech analysis, a lot of in-depth research publications have been devoted to stage directions as reverberations of the author's voice . This study will offer a poetic reading of Lorca's stage directions and aim at demonstrating that the latter contribute to creating a specific semiotic code with both a strategic and poetic intent within Lorca's dramatic speech. Far from being a mere functional peritext only meant to organise and set up the staging of discourse between the characters, Lorca's stage directions embody the nerve centre of his poetic drama. They play an active part in building up the innermost meaning of his works, and offer essential keys for interpretation at various levels of reading and theatrical reception. Reading some of these stage directions is a source of enjoyment for the viewer-reader . If we consider them as mere linguistic signs, they can indeed be interpreted in a poetical perspective as text aids through their sound effects when spoken aloud. Yet ,they are restricted to the reader's exclusive benefit as , paradoxically enough, the stage director is very often unable to stage them in their entirety , even by summoning all the senses . These stage directions, analysed in the first phase of this study, can be labelled as 'reading directions '. The other kind of stage directions consists of the more concrete and physical details that can help organise the futur staging of the play. They have an action-inducing and conative function and , as such, are not textual - the author's original message being coded into another system of signs - These 'staging directions' are the focus of the second part of this study. The preliminary parts ( titles, subtitles and dramatis personae for instance), the varied hues, space and time indications are endowed with a metadrama and prophetical value. Indeed, they carry the seeds of all the main characteristics of Lorca's works and weave thoughts about the very essence of drama. By turning his stage directions into a real musical score, Lorca composes a poetry of silence revealing the innermost feelings of the various characters present in the trilogy. The stage directions breathe life into the text , which takes on flesh and blood under our eyes. Deciphering them enables the reader to lift the veil on the mysteries of Lorca's works

Full textEsta investigación parte de la noción de Real Maravilloso tomando los principales estudiosos del tema y enseguida destaca los elementos significativos en la escrita del colombiano Gabriel García Márquez, principalmente en su obra Cien años de soledad de 1967. El escritor al convertirse en una de las figuras más importantes de la vertiente literaria del Real Maravilloso y uno de los nombres de más relieve del boom de la literatura latinoamericana, extrapola el ámbito literario, prestando su estilo a otras manifestaciones artísticas, entre ellas el cine. Partiendo de esa idea de que el universo ficcional de Márquez se encuentra diseminado también en el cine fueron elegidas para análisis las narrativas fílmicas: Como agua para chocolate, del director mexicano Alfonso Arau, y A casa dos espíritos, del director danés Bille August, pues se configuran como adaptaciones de dos importantes novelas de las escritoras Isabel Allende e Laura Esquivel, que según la crítica se inspiran en el Real Maravilloso marqueziano . Para la realización de esta investigación fueron indispensables los estudios de Alejo Carpentier sobre el Real Maravilloso, principalmente en su prólogo de O reino de este mundo (2009), los conceptos de Antonio R. Esteves y Eurídice Figueiredo (2010), Irlemar Chiampi (2008), Bella Jozef, Mario Vargas Llosa (2007), Robert Stam (2008), Carolina Marinho (2009).
Este estudo inicialmente parte da noção de Real Maravilhoso tomando os principais estudiosos do tema e posteriormente ressalta os elementos significativos na escrita do colombiano Gabriel García Márquez, principalmente em sua obra Cem anos de solidão de 1967. Full textThis thesis has as the main object the study of an important family from Bahia between the XVI and XIX centuries, who were directly involved in the process of land conquest, and accumulated a vast estate during this time. Besides that, this family had a great capacity in influencing colonial administrations political power. Initially we reflect on how the Dias d`Avila`s family became the subject of historiographic investigations and how this historiography has contributed to establishing the method of interpreting tradition on this subject, which documented one direct relation connecting its trajectory and the formation of a certain national historic definition. We intend to provide a more detailed way of ascertaining certain aspects of the relationship between the colonists and the autochthonous populations. The process of territorial conquest raises questions about races mixture - cross breeding - mestisos and their acceptance, to the violent conflicts that were related to that process. We will also demonstrate some particularities concerning the relations between one important land owner family and the different colonial administration levels, as well as the strategies developed by the family in order to acquire, increase and maintain power. Among those strategies were public jobs obtaining in the colonial government and the receiving of graces (merces) through marriage connections and the controlling of the inheritance process, in which the Morgado (process of the eldest receiving the whole inheritance) stands out as a way of perpetuating the real estate property through out different generations without dividing it excluding, in some cases, some family members from the inheritance. In this particular case we discuss the meaning of Casa as a form of association between the family and the family estate which had the objective of ensuring the obtaining and keeping of political and economic power. Finally, we demonstrate that a tradition was built around the family which served, even today, as a means of retaining political power even tough when a family has lost its capacity of keeping the basis of its economic power.
