This paper analyses effects of chemical reactions on reflected-shock flow fields in shock tubes. The method of linearized characteristics is applied to analyse gasdynamic disturbances due to chemical reactions. The analysis treats cases where combustible gas is highly diluted in inert gas, and assumes that flows are one-dimensional and that upstream flows in front of the reflected-shock waves are in the frozen state. The perturbed gasdynamic properties in the reflected-shock flow fields are shown to be expressible mainly in terms of a heat-release function for combustion process. In particular

Abstract:
In this paper, a study of gasdynamic processes that occur in a low-flow aerothermopressor has been done. The aerothermopressor is a two-phase jet apparatus for contact cooling, in which, due to the removal of heat from the air flow, the air pressure is increased (thermogasdynamic compression) and its cooling is taken place. Highly effective operation of the aerothermopressor is influenced by primarily the flow part design and the water injected method in the apparatus. Constructive factors that influence energy costs to overcome friction losses and local resistances on the convergent-divergent

Abstract:
The mining of coal resources causes the stress on the front and both sides of the working face to be in a complex loading and unloading process, and the gas contained in the coal body migrates, which can cause gasdynamic disasters in severe cases. Therefore, this study designed a three-dimensional stress path based on the in situ stress distribution characteristics of the No. 2461 working face and conducted the experiment on the deformation and seepage characteristics of raw coal under simultaneous unloading (loading) axial stress and loading (unloading) confining pressure. Context. Angeloni and collaborators have discovered a bipolar jet extending out to ~6 pc from “Sanduleak’s star” in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). This is the first angularly resolved stellar jet system that has been observed outside our Galaxy. Aims. In this paper we use archival Hubble Space Telescope (HST) images of this jet in order to estimate the flow parameters, and use them to explore two possible theoretical scenarios for modelling this bipolar outflow. Methods. We have computed axisymmetric gasdynamic simulations of a conical outflow with an opening angle that increases with time

Supersonic axisymmetric expansion flow is a typical and fundamental issue in gas dynamics. It plays a vital role in the high-speed external and internal flow fields regarding the contour design and performance evaluation of supersonic/hypersonic vehicles and their propulsion systems. The supersonic two-dimensional (2D) planar expansion flow is dominated by the well-known Prandtl–Meyer (P–M) theory. However, no similar explicit relation exists for the supersonic axisymmetric expansion flow, and only the computational fluid dynamics results could be employed at present. Therefore, this work focu

The paper considers conceptual tendencies concerning the analysis of coal-gas system state within rock mass in front of a mine working stope in the context of hydroimpulsive effect on an outburst-prone coal seam. It has been shown that mining intensification is impossible without the improved efficiency of means indented to avoid gasdynamic phenomena taking into consideration the effect of technogenic factors on operation schedules. It has been determined that since grades of outburst-prone coal are of globular structure, its breakage may involve changes in molecular weight of coal substance a
