Abstract:

In den rezenten migrationspolitischen Debatten ist eine Verschiebung des Diskurses von der Einwanderung zur Integration unverkennbar. In diesem Zusammenhang hat auch die sogenannte Gastarbeiterwanderung eine Historisierung erfahren. Einen unmittelbaren Anlass dafür bot zuletzt das 50-Jahr-Jubiläum des österreichischen Anwerbeabkommens mit der Türkei. Wie sich am Beispiel der Gastarbeiterwanderung nach Wien zeigen lässt, sind die Folgen dieser Arbeitsmigration bis in die Gegenwart jedoch durchaus spürbar. This interdisciplinary thesis compares two different intra-European immigration policies and regimes regarding the Greek migrant communities of Germany; that of the guest-worker recruitment, a result of international bilateral agreements between West Germany and Greece, and that of European expatriation, a bloc actor policy that transformed the previous migratory framework and its results immensely.
