Abstract:

Eine chronische gastrointestinale Blutung kann sich durch sichtbare, wiederholte Blutabgänge ab ano (in Form von Meläna oder Frischblut) oder durch wiederholte Hämatemesis manifestieren. Als okkulte gastrointestinale Blutungen bezeichnet man einen wiederholt positiven Hämokkult-Test und/oder eine Eisenmangelanämie ohne sichtbaren Blutabgang. Die Hauptursache für eine Eisenmangelanämie wiederum ist ein Blutverlust vorwiegend aus dem Magen-Darm-Trakt (bei Frauen kann es auch im Rahmen einer starken Menstruationsblutung zu einer Eisenmangelanämie kommen).
