Abstract:
By using the gauge Ward identities, we study correlation functions of gauged WZNW models. We show that the gauge dressing of the correlation functions can be taken into account as a solution of the Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equation. Our method is analogous to the analysis of the gravitational dressing of 2D field theories.

We establish a finite field-dependent BRS transformation that connects the Yang–Mills path integrals with the Faddeev–Popov effective actions for an arbitrary pair of gauges F and F'. We establish a result that relates an arbitrary Green function (either a primary one or that of an operator) in an arbitrary gauge F' to those in gauge F that are compatible to the ones in gauge Fby its construction. This is because the construction preserves expectation values of gauge-invariant observables. We establish parallel results also for the planar gauge-Lorentz gauge connection.

AbstractAccurate snowfall measurement is challenging because it depends on the precipitation gauge used, meteorological conditions, and the precipitation microphysics. Upstream of weighing gauges, the flow field is disturbed by the gauge and any shielding used usually creates an updraft, which deflects solid precipitation from falling in the gauge, resulting in significant undercatch. Wind shields are often used with weighing gauges to reduce this updraft, and transfer functions are required to adjust the snowfall measurements to consider gauge undercatch. Using these functions reduces the bia

Novel gauge functions are introduced to non-relativistic classical mechanics and used to define forces. The obtained results show that the gauge functions directly affect the energy function and allow for converting an undriven physical system into a driven one. This is a novel phenomenon in dynamics that resembles the role of gauges in quantum field theories.

The tide gauge record, on the other hand, extends through the 20th century but with poor spatial coverage when compared to the satellites. Many studies have been conducted to create a dataset with the spatial coverage of the satellite datasets and the temporal length of the tide gauge records by finding novel ways to combine the satellite data and tide gauge data in what is known as sea level reco

A general procedure for defining gauge-invariant fields is presented. In this way it is possible to associate gauge-variant Green functions, in some particular gauge, with gauge-invariant quantities. This construction can be done regardless of whether a mass shell exists or not and should be useful for the colored sector in quantum chromodynamics.

It is widely believed that Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) is the theory that describes the strong interaction. In the infrared region of the theory, the perturbative expansion breaks down and so, other techniques must be used. One such technique is the study of the Schwinger-Dyson equations. In this thesis is presented such a study. It is shown that the ghost sector of QCD may be crucial to the understanding of the infrared behaviour. Conventionally, the Slavnov- Taylor identity is used to truncate the Schwinger-Dyson equations but it is found that for the ghost-gluon vertex, such an identity ca

Wir zeigen, dass der Formfaktor des Geist-Propagators bei kleinen Impulsen systematisch von der Wahl der Eichkopien (Gribov-Kopien) abhängt. The Standard Model scalar potential contains a minimum at the Electroweak scale, responsible for the masses of the weak gauge bosons through the Higgs mechanism. However, if the Electroweak minimum is only a local minimum, and there exists a global minimum at a higher energy in the Higgs potential, then in a su ciently old universe we would expect the vacuum expectation value to be at the global minimum. The absence of a global minimum at higher energy is related to the condition that the Higgs self coupling is greater than or equal to zero for all energies. For any model that fails this, we e
