Abstract:
A contrastive (or antithetical) construction which makes simultaneous use of two separate particles is identified through a mainly corpus-based study as a typical feature of a number of lesser-described languages spoken in the Afghanistan-Pakistan borderland in the high Hindukush. The feature encompasses Nuristani languages (Waigali, Kati) as well as the Indo-Aryan languages found in their close vicinity (Palula, Kalasha, Dameli, Gawri), while it is not shared by more closely related Indo-Aryan languages spoken outside of this geographically delimited area. Due to a striking (although not complete) overlap with at least two other (unrelated) structural features, pronominal kinship suffixes and retroflex vowels, we suggest that a linguistic and cultural diffusion zone of considerable age is centred in the mountainous Nuristan-Kunar-Panjkora area.

Era Industri 4.0 dengan ditandai perkembangan industri dan salah satu hasil perkembangan yang sangat familiar dengan masyarakat adalah gawai. Pola atau gaya hidup masyarakat yang sudah semakin dinamis menjadi pemicu terjadinya faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pola perilaku. Kebiasaan menggunakan perangkat digital ini juga salah satu penyebabnya pada siswa karena penyediaan ragam permainanserta belajar yang minim membuat pola perilaku tersebut berubah karena penggunaan gawaiyang berlebihan. Tujuan penelitian untuk menjelaskan perilaku siswa dalam menggunakan gawai,membuktikan dampak penggunaan gawai terhadap penyimpangan perilaku siswa,menemukan upayapengendalian guru terhadap penggunaangawai, mendeskripsikan dampak pengendalian gawai terhadap perilaku siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan design studi kasus.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hampir semua siswa MI kelas V mempunyai gawai sendiri. Perilaku mereka dalam menggunakan gawai sebanyak 44% game online, 31% youtube, 19% instagram, 3% whatsapp, dan 3% facebook. Durasi mereka bermain gawai sebanyak 11% ≤ 1 jam, 42% 1-2 Jam, dan 47% ≥ 2 jam. Dampak negatif penggunaan gawai:sering main game online/offline, malas belajar, bermain dengan teman yang sama-sama mempunyai gawai, berteman dengan teman yang punya gawai, tidak mau bermain dengan teman sebaya secara umum, suka berkumpul hanya untuk mabar (main bareng) game online, marah ketika gawai diminta oleh orang tua, gawaidianggap merupakan sumber utama untuk belajar sehingga sumber lain dianggap tidak perlu, gawaidianggap merupakan sumber kebahagiaan, gawaidianggap satu-satunya teman bermain, meminta gawai agar sama dengan temannya, dan meminta gawai karena barang dianggap keren. Upaya guru mengendalikannya: edukasi mengenai gawai, sanksi tegas,dan koordinasi dengan para orang tua. Dampakpengendalian gawai terhadap perilaku siswa: bersikap positif dalam menggunakan gawai, fokus belajar, bersosialisasi langsung dengan teman sebaya, dan siswa suka melakukan kegiatan positif.<br /><br />

LATAR BELAKANG Dekade terakhir menunjukkan neck pain pada remaja semakin meningkat, bersamaan dengan meningkatnya penggunaan gawai (gadget). Seiring perkembangan zaman, gawai menjadi kebutuhan dan gaya hidup masyarakat luas. Pelajar menjadi pasar terbesar dalam penggunaan gawai sehubungan dengan kebutuhan belajar yang memerlukan akses Internet. Salah satu faktor penyebab neck pain pada pengguna gawai adalah intensitas penggunaan gawai yang mempengaruhi lamanya posisi fleksi pada otot leher. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan intensitas pemakaian gawai dengan neck pain pada usia 15-20 tahun. METODE Penelitian ini merupakan studi observasional dengan desain cross sectional yang mengikutsertakan 164 pelajar SMAN 28 Jakarta dan Fakultas Hukum Universitas Trisakti. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara pengisian kuesioner yang meliputi usia, jenis kelamin, intensitas pemakaian gawai dan keluhan neck pain. Penilaian neck pain menggunakan NRS (Numeric Rating Scale). Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji Chi-square dengan tingkat kemaknaan p<0.05. HASIL Subjek perempuan berjumlah 121 orang (73.8%). Paparan gawai dengan intensitas >56 jam/minggu dijumpai pada 109 subjek (66.5%). Keluhan neck pain dijumpai pada 138 subjek (84.1%). Uji Chi-square menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan neck pain pada usia 15-20 tahun dengan nilai p=0.004. KESIMPULAN Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan neck pain pada usia 15-20 tahun.

Abstract:
Penggunaan teknologi oleh anak bukanlah hal yang baru. Saat ini, hampir semua anak memiliki gawai sendiri seperti telepon pintar, tablet, atau laptop. Sayangnya, penggunaan gawai oleh anak seringkali tanpa melalui pengawasan yang cukup dari orangtua di rumah. Beberapa orangtua memberikan gawai kepada anak mereka dan memberikan akses untuk menggunakannya tanpa adanya kontrol terhadap apa saja yang dilakukan anak dengan gawai mereka. Sebagai pengganti orangtua di sekolah, guru juga memiliki peranan yang penting dalam membantu pengawasan penggunaan gadget oleh anak. Namun sayangnya, beberapa guru masih tidak sadar bahwa peranan mereka cukup signifikan dalam menanamkan pemahaman ini pada anak. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan masih banyaknya bentuk penyalahgunaan gawai oleh anak saat di sekolah. Padahal, jika digunakan secara tepat, gawai memiliki manfaat yang sangat banyak dalam mendukung proses belajar anak di sekolah. Terkait dengan hal ini, kami mencoba memberikan sosialisasi pada guru, wali murid, dan siswa di SDN 1 Seletreng tentang pentingnya kerjasama antara orangtua dan guru dalam memperkenalkan gawai secara bijak pada anak. Dengan adanya sosialisasi ini diharapkan anak memiliki pemahaman yang baik sejak dini tentang dampak positif dan dampak negatif dari penggunaan gawai. Tujuan jangka panjang dari kegiatan ini adalah adanya kerjasama yang baik antara orangtua dan sekolah (dalam hal ini guru) untuk bersama-sama mendidik dan menanamkan potensi yang baik bagi anak terutama dalam kaitannya dengan penggunaan gawai dalam mendukung pendidikan dan perkembangana anak baik secara kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah adanya respon positif berupa pemahaman orangtua dan guru tentang penggunaan gawai pada anak, dan adanya usaha-usaha nyata yang dilakukan untuk mengawasi penggunaan gawai oleh anak.

Latar belakang. Gawai adalah salah satu perkembangan teknologi yang digunakan secara merata pada semua kalangan usia, termasuk anak-anak berusia di bawah 5 tahun. Penggunaan gawai pada anak balita menyebabkan anak kurang tertarik untuk berinteraksi dengan lingkungannya atau bermain dengan teman sebaya sehingga mengganggu proses perkembangan secara alami. Tujuan. Mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan perkembangan anak usia 24-60 bulan.Metode. Penelitian analitik observasional dengan pendekatan crosssectional dilakukan pada anak usia 24-60 bulan di Kelurahan Simomulyo Surabaya. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan consecutive sampling. Intensitas penggunaan gawai diukur menggunakan kuesioner penilitian sedangkan perkembangan anak diukur dengan melakukan pemeriksaan perkembangan menggunakan formulir KPSP. Analisis dilakukan dengan uji korelasi Spearman.Hasil. Terdapat 66 anak yang ikut serta dalam penelitian. Anak-anak dengan intensitas penggunaan gawai rendah menunjukkan hasil pemeriksaan perkembangan sesuai, sedangkan intensitas penggunaan gawai tinggi menunjukkan hasil pemeriksaan meragukan. Terdapat hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan perkembangan anak usia 24-60 bulan (p=0,000), dengan kekuatan sedang dan arah hubungan positif (koefisien korelasi = 0,521)Kesimpulan. Intensitas penggunaan gawai yang tinggi dapat mempengaruhi proses perkembangan anak usia 24-60 bulan, dibutuhkan peran aktif orang tua dan tenaga kesehatan dalam memantau dan mendukung perkembangan anak.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan langkah pendampingan orangtua pada anak pengguna gawai dan mengetahui hasil yang dicapai oleh orangtua setelah mendampingi anak pengguna gawai di satuan pendidikan anak usia dini. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan observasi serta analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa (1) ada delapan langkah pendampingan yang dilakukan orangtua pada anak dalam menggunakan gawai; (2) tingkat pendidikan orangtua dan intervensi pelatihan parenting memberikan kontribusi pada kemampuan orangtua dalam mendampingi anak dalam menggunakan gawai; serta (3) ada perubahan pada pengguna gawai kategori berat dan sedang setelah pendampingan.

Latar belakang. Gawai adalah perkembangan teknologi yang dapat menyebabkan ketergantungan penggunanya. Saat menggunakan gawai, anak-anak menjadi kurang interaktif dan komunikatif. Hal ini menyebabkan anak-anak mengalami keterlambatan perkembangan bahasa.Tujuan. Menganalisis hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai dan keterlambatan bahasa pada anakMetode. Merupakan penelitian analitik potong lintang. Sampel adalah anak berusia 15 hingga 36 bulan di empat fasilitas penitipan anak usia dini di daerah Manado, periode Februari hingga April 2018. Kriteria inklusi adalah anak dengan berat lahir normal dan kelahiran cukup bulan. Kriteria eksklusi meliputi anak dengan cacat bawaan dan riwayat penyakit yang dapat memengaruhi perkembangan bahasa. Metode pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling. Intensitas penggunaan gawai yang disarankan adalah kurang dari 2 jam per hari, dan frekuensi kurang dari 2 hari per minggu. Keterlambatan bahasa didefinisikan menggunakan Skala CAPUTE, dengan DQ CLAMS <85. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji chi-square (nilai p<0,05).Hasil. Sampel terdiri dari 51 anak, 33 (62%) di antaranya adalah perempuan. Usia rata-rata adalah 2 tahun 5 bulan (SD 0,6). Didapatkan 3 (5,8%) anak mengalami keterlambatan bahasa, 10 (19,6%) anak menggunakan gawai lebih dari 2 jam per hari dan 36 (70,5%) anak menggunakan gawai lebih dari 2 hari per minggu. Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai lebih dari 2 jam dan keterlambatan bahasa (p=0,034), sementara tidak ada hubungan bermakna antara frekuensi penggunaan gawai lebih dari 2 hari per minggu dan keterlambatan bahasa (p=0,144).Kesimpulan. Didapati hubungan yang signifikan antara intensitas penggunaan gawai lebih dari 2 jam per hari dengan keterlambatan bahasa. Sebaliknya, tidak ada hubungan bermakna antara frekuensi penggunaan gawai lebih dari 2 hari per minggu dan keterlambatan bahasa.

Abstract:
The purpose of writing this article is to determine the Gawai culture in shaping the values of solidarity among the Dayak tribal communities in West Kalimantan. This article was prepared using the library research method, namely the method of collecting data by utilizing literature sources and materials. The result of the conclusion is that Gawai is a traditional Dayak ceremony which has become a tradition to this day. The Dayak gawai is one of the traditional ceremonies which is still actively carried out by the Dayak people. The Gawai Dayak traditional ceremony is one of the sources of local history in West Kalimantan. The implementation of the traditional Gawai ceremony aims to ask for safety and gratitude to God for the harvest which is usually done every one year. The traditional Gawai ceremony is held after the main harvest and ends with the traditional ritual of Rising Dango and reciting incantations and prayers or commonly known as Matik which aims to ask for blessings to God or Jubata. The implementation of the traditional gawai ceremony requires the involvement of all Dayak tribal communities to be able to work together in the preparation and implementation. Therefore, gadgets become the media needed to renew the spirit and sense of solidarity between Dayak tribal communities in West Kalimantan. The Gawai Traditional Ceremony is one of the very sacred religious rituals for the Dayak Tribe, therefore the Gawai Traditional ceremony only involves the Dayak Tribe. However, as the times progressed, the government tried to preserve the traditional Gawai ceremony, so that it became a routine tourism agenda in Pontianak City every year.

Abstract:
<p>The study examined price variation in the marketing of garri in Delta State Nigeria. A multi-stage sampling procedure was used in drawing up a sample of 180 garri marketers from six purposively selected major garri markets each from six purposively selected Local government areas. Data collected with the aid of questionnaire were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The results revealed that majority of the marketers were females that are still in their economically active age group and relatively literate. Majority of the marketers were middlemen who sold mostly to their fellow middlemen. Most of the respondents agreed that marketing cost is the major cause of price variation in garri market while season of the year was the most notable problem facing garri marketers in the study area. Also, the result of Analysis of Variance revealed that there were significant differences in garri prices among the six markets. It was concluded that in order to stabilize price of garri and income of garri marketers, in order to ensure sustainable food security in Delta State, measures should be taken to provide adequate transportation and establish storage facilities. This will invariably cut down marketing costs.</p>

Era disrupsi menjadi era evolusi bagi para pemakai bahasa, bahkan anak-anak pun sudah sangat familiar dengan pemakaian peralatan di era ini. Di antara peralatan yang sering digunakan oleh pemakai bahasa adalah gawai. Gawai yang dikenal juga dengan handphone (HP) menjadi produk yang mudah ditemukan dalam penggunaannya yang dipakai oleh para pengguna bahasa, tidak terkecuali anak-anak. Penggunaan gawai yang dapat mempengaruhi wicara anak amat menarik untuk dibahas serta menjadi hal pokok agar lebih waspada dalam memberikan benda, khususnya pemakaian gawai yang tidak disesuaikan dengan porsinya. Berbagai faktor perlu diamati sebagai bahan kenapa gawai mampu mempengaruhi anak terutama berhubungan dengan ujaran anak. Adapun pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan ini dipilih karena sesuai dengan karakter dari pengamatan yang berkenaan dengan bahasa-bahasa, baik secara lisan maupun tulis. Adapun teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah teknik dokumentasi, teknik wawancara, teknik rekam, teknik catat, dan teknik simak. Anak yang terlalu sering menggunakan gawai tanpa bimbingan maka akan mengalami berbagai gangguan wicara. Gangguan ini sebagai pengaruh ketidakdisiplinan serta ketidakmanajemenan penggunaan gawai dengan baik. Penelitian ini merupakan bagian dari kegiatan pegabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan di Sekolah Dasar Segoro Tambak dan Sekolah Dasar Kalirungkut IV Surabaya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini di lalukan karena maraknya penggunaan gawai pada pelajar baik untuk mencari hiburan maupun informasi, menjadikan perlunya pendampingan serta pengawasan kepada para pelajar agar menggunakan gawai secara bijak. Serta menumbuhkan rasa tanggung jawab kepada diri para pelajar ketika sedang menggunakan gawai. Gawai adalah media hiburan serta media informasi yang disenangi oleh anak-anak, karena memberikan tampilan menarik, selalu update, serta praktis untuk dibawa kemana saja. Hal ini menjadikan para pengguna mudah lupa akan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya, terutama para pelajar. Gawai memiiki nilai positif serta negatif untuk para penggunanya. Nilai positif dimana penggunanya update berkaitan dengan perkembangan teknologi serta informasi, sehingga mampu menunjang prestasi untuk para pelajar. Nilai negatif gawai adalah ketika penggunanya menggunakan gawai melebihi batas penggunaan waktu serta menonton hal yang seharusnya tidak ditonton. Terkadang mereka mengakses hibur baik game maupun melihat video melebihi jam yang seharusnya digunakan untuk mengakses. Hal ini menjadikan dampak negatif terutama untuk pelajar dapat menurunkan prestasi di sekolah. Pola asuh orang tua terhadap anaknya mendasari penggunaan gawai. Orang tua yang menerapkan pola asuh demokratis memberikan gawai sejak dini pada anaknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pola asuh demokratis dan intensitas penggunaan gawai. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan adalah metode korelasi dan ex post facto. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan untuk menguji hipotesis menggunakan teknik korelasi product moment. Hasil perhitungan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa r hitung lebih besar dari r tabel (0,471>0,179). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan positif dan signifikan antara pola asuh demokratis dan intensitas penggunaan gawai oleh anak. Orang tua akan lebih lebih kreatif dalam mengasuh anak serta memberikan waktu pendampingan anak dalam bermain. Gawai memang dibutuhkan untuk sarana komunikasi namun perlu diatur intensitas penggunaanya.

Artikel ini mengkaji upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah Propinsi Kalimantan Barat di dalam memanfaatkan festival Gawai Dayak sebagai sarana untuk meningkatkan kunjungan wisatawan mancanegara. Bagaimana langkah-langkah yang dapat dilakukan sehingga festival Gawai Dayak mampu menjadi sarana meningkatkan jumlah kunjungn wisatawan asing ke Kalimantan Barat? Menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, data yang dinalisis dalam artikel ini dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan studi dokumentasi yang terkait dengan penyelenggaraan Gawai Dayak. Sejumlah upaya yang dilakukan pemerintah dalam membenahi tatakelola wisata di Kalimantan Barat teridentifikasi dan berpotensi menjadi instrumen soft power memperkenalkan budaya dan sekaligus menjadi sarana daya tarik wisata bagi Propinsi Kalimantan Barat. Kata Kunci: Gawai Dayak, pariwisata, soft power Gawai Dayak is an annual festival in West Kalimantan, Indonesia and Sarawak, Malaysia, which shows the richness of the arts and culture and traditions of the Dayak tribe that have developed both in West Kalimantan and in Sarawak. This article examines the efforts made by the West Kalimantan provincial government to utilize the Gawai Dayak festival as a means to increase foreign tourist visits. What steps can be taken so that the Gawai Dayak festival can be a means of increasing the number of foreign tourist visits to West Kalimantan? Using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, the data analyzed in this article were collected through interviews and documentary studies related to organizing the Dayak Gawai event. A number of efforts made by the government in improving tourism management in West Kalimantan have been identified and have the potential to become a soft power instrument to introduce culture and at the same time become a means of tourist attraction for West Kalimantan Province. Keberadaan gawai pada era modern telah menjadi kebutuhan primer sejalan dengan perkembangan teknologi. Kehadirannya selain berdampak pada kehidupan masyarakat (orang dewasa) juga dapat memengaruhi proses pemerolehan bahasa bagi anak yang bermain gawai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan pemerolehan bahasa anak usia 4 tahun yang dipengaruhi oleh gawai melalui telaah bidang sintaksis, yakni berupa kalimat berita, kalimat tanya, dan kalimat suruh. Sumber data berasal dari rekaman video dan audio anak yang menjadi subjek penelitian, sedangkan data berupa transkrip dari rekaman video dan audio. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tiga cara, yaitu (1) merekam kegiatan anak yang dijadikan bahan penelitian, (2) mentranskrip pembicaraan, dan (3) menganalisis data sesuai dengan topik penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif dengan mendeskripsikan informasi yang didapat dari data yang telah dikumpulkan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh di antaranya, pertama gawai sangat mempengaruhi pemerolehan sintaksis bahasa anak usia 4 tahun terhadap produksi kalimat berita, kedua gawai tidak terlalu berpengaruh terhadap pemerolehan bahasa anak usia 4 tahun dalam produksi kalimat tanya, dan ketiga gawai tidak berpengaruh terhadap pemerolehan sintaksis bahasa anak usia 4 tahun dalam produksi kalimat perintah.

Cassava, an edible root crop and a reliable and relatively inexpensive source of carbohydrate, is widely grown and processed into different foods such as cassava flour and garri. The study analyzed the costs and returns in cassava flour and garri production and also determined the factors influencing its production in the study area. A two- stage sampling technique was used to generate primary data used for this study. The first stage involved the purposive selection of Ibarapa North Local Government Area (LGA), because it has more cassava producers and processors than other LGAs. The second stage involved the random selection of 15 villages out of the 23 in the LGA. From the selected villages, 170 respondents were randomly selected while only 150 copies of the structured questionnaire administered were retrieved. Results from the primary data shows that 28.3% of garri producersproducers had no formal education and 46.7% were between the ages of 30 and 39years. The regression analysis shows that the quantity of garri sold (ß =5.4099), transportation cost (ß =-0.2994), peeling cost (ß = -0.4249), and grating cost (ß = 0.6878) were all significant to the total revenue of cassava flour sold. Price, inadequate capital, transportation, land tenure and markets were factors influencing garri and cassava flour production. Analysis of the costs and returns revealed that processing cassava into garri gave a higher gross margin even though processing of cassava was profitable, indicating that there is a significant difference between flour and garri production. This study is aimed at evaluating the proximate composition and functional and sensory characteristics of gari obtained from five cassava varieties (EN, AD, TMS92/0326, TMS96/1414, and IRAD4115). These cassavas were harvested during the dry season 12 months after planting (12MAP) and in the rainy season (15MAP). Results showed that the characteristics of gari varied significantly (p<0.05) with the variety and the harvest period. Gari from EN cassava harvested at 12MAP had the highest total carbohydrates (78.07% dry weight), starch (61%), and proteins content, while gari from TMS 96/1414 variety (12MAP) had high amino acids (10.25 mg/g) and phenolic compounds (9.31 mg/g) content. The gari from IRAD4115 had the highest value of ash content (20.62 mg/g) at 12MAP. The soluble sugar content was high in the gari from cassava harvested at 12MAP while free cyanide reduced significantly in gari from cassava harvested at 12MAP. The water absorption capacity, swelling power, and bulk density were significantly (p<0.05) high in the gari from EN cassava variety at 12MAP. Compared to commercial gari (3.30), gari from EN local cassava had the best overall acceptability (4.35) followed by those obtained from TMS92/0326 and TMS92/1414 varieties, respectively.

Pada perkembangan era digital saat ini istilah kecanduan sudah memiliki perkembangan yang sangat dinamis, bukan hanya kecanduan narkoba namun kecanduan gawai merupakan bentuk kecanduan yang berbahaya dan memiliki efek yang luas dimasyarakat. Generasi Z, merupakan populasi usia dewasa muda saat ini, generasi ini berkembang di era digital, sehingga pembentukan kopingnya pun terpengaruh oleh hal tersebut. Pada usia dewasa muda, biasanya orang sedang dalam fase pendidikan tinggi sebagai mahasiswa, mahasiswa disibukkan oleh berbagai kesibukan baik akademik maupun non akademik. Hal ini membuat mahasiswa rentan mengalami stres. Salah satu stresor yang mahasiswa rasakan selama perkuliahannya yaitu berkaitan dengan stres akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi gambaran tingkat ketergantungan gawai dan tingkat stres akademik pada mahasiswa di FIK UI dan untuk mencari hubungan keduanya menggunakan kuesioner Academic Stress Scale (ASS) dan Test for Gadget Dependency. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross sectional, teknik sampel menggunakan proportional stratified random sampling dengan melibatkan 229 mahasiswa. Hasil analisis uji statistik chi-square didapatkan p= 0,000 dan nilai p < a = 0,05 yang berarti terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara ketergantungan terhadap gawai dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian ini juga menemukan mahasiswa mengalami stres akademik sedang sebanyak 66,4% dan mahasiswa mengalami ketergantungan terhadap gawai pada kategori sedang sebanyak 69,9%. Ketergantungan terhadap gawai dan stress akademik memiliki hubungan yang saling memengaruhi, seseorang dengan ketergantungan gawai yang tinggi akan memiliki stress akademik yang tinggi pula dan sebaliknya. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini mahasiswa perlu aware dengan perilaku dalam menggunakan gawai.Kata kunci: ketergantungan gawai; mahasiswa keperawatan; stres akademik

In Jhumpa Lahiri's work The Lowland (2013), the idea of personality is especially significant, and various characters can be broke down as needs are. An Indian lady Gauri, being a widow and hitched to her previous spouse's sibling, is the principal character. Gauri starts to discover her new, different (possible present or future) personalities after relocating to America. In this way, the paper targets discussing how the personality of Gauri changes across the novel based on identity transformation, which indicates Gauri as a diasporic character. The discussion is established on the theory of identity. It shows how relocation transforms into transparency and affects Gauri's character.

Fresh cassava roots were processed to chips by peeling, washing,chipping, dehydration, and packaging. The dehydrated chips were thereafter processed to starch and garri by rehydrating the chips to 50-60% moisture. The products were compared with the ones produced from fresh cassava roots by evaluating the organoleptic properties, chemical compositions, and pasting characteristics. The garri from the dehydrated chips was ranked better in terms of particle size and aroma; while garri from fresh roots was ranked better in colour, and mouth feel. Both garri were generally acceptable to the panelists. The cyanide level, titrable acidity, protein, ash, crude fibre and moisture contents of garri from dehydrated cassava chips were 2.36mg/kg, 1.06%,3.35%, 2.14%, 2.02%,and 11.24% respectively. The viscosities of the starches from the dehydrated cassava chips and fresh roots were 3.33 and 129.58 RVU respectively. The yield of starch from the dehydrated chip was higher than that of the fresh roots however, it was easier to process fresh roots to starch than using the dehydrated chips. This study has established the fact that using dehydrated cassava chips( which provide a good form of storage for cassava) could be processed to both garri and starch of good and acceptable qualities.

Gari (roasted fermented cassava grits) is the most popular product consumed in West Africa and an important food product in the diet of millions of people in developing countries. The study investigated the effect of packaging materials (PM) and storage periods on the functional and pasting properties of Gari produced from white-fleshed cassava roots and sensory attributes of the cooked Gari dough (eba). Gari was produced using the standard method and packaged in a polypropylene woven sack (PP) and polyvinyl chloride container (PVC). Gari was stored for 24 weeks at room temperature and sampled at four-week intervals for functional and pasting properties, and sensory evaluation of the eba, using standard methods. The results showed that the storage periods significantly affected all the functional (except swelling power) and pasting properties of the Gari, and PM had no significant (p>0.05) effect on the functional (except bulk density) and pasting properties. Also, the PM had no significant effect on the sensory attributes of the eba except for the mouldability (p<0.05). The setback viscosity of the Gari packaged in PVC had a significant (p<0.05, r= -0.58) negative correlation with the texture of the eba. The panellists preferred all the sensory attributes of the eba made from the Gari stored in PP compared to that made from Gari stored in PVC. Therefore, packaging Gari in PP may keep most of the properties preferred by consumers when stored for up to 5 months.

Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’de 1975-2017 dönemi için kişi başına düşen gayri safi yurtiçi hasıla, sağlık harcamaları ve doğuşta beklenen yaşam süresi arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmaktır. Literatürdeki hipotezlerinden ilki uzun zaman süresinin daha büyük ekonomik kalkınma ilişkili olduğu iken diğer hipotez, uzun yaşam süresinin nüfus artışına neden olduğundan dolayı ekonomik büyüme olumsuz etkilediğidir. Pozitif etkinin kanalı ise, uzun yaşam süresinin düşük ölüm oranlarıyla ilişkili olmasıdır. Söz konusu değişkenler arasındaki ilişkinin varlığını test etmek amacıyla VAR (Vector Autoregression) ve Granger nedensellik analizleri kullanılmıştır. Granger nedensellik testlerine göre doğuşta beklenen yaşam süresinin ve sağlık harcamalarının kişi başına düşen gayri safi yurtiçi hasılanın nedeni olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. VAR analizleri, sağlık harcamalarındaki değişimin kişi başına düşen gayri safi yurtiçi hasılaya ve doğuşta beklenen yaşam süresine bağlı olduğu, kişi başına düşen gayri safi yurtiçi hasıladaki değişimin ise önemli bir kısmının doğuşta beklenen yaşam süresinden kaynaklandığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Berdasarkan hasil analisis data ditemukan tanda berupa ikon, indeks dan simbol. Representasi makna ikon Gawi pada lirik lagu Gawi “ine pare” karya Frans Tuku adalah momentum mempererat hubungan tali persaudaraan antara sesama dan ungkapan rasa syukur kepada sang pencipta dan leluhur. Representasi makna Ikon nggua pada lirik lagu Gawi “Ine Pare” karya Frans Tuku adalah pesta adat penyambutan musim tanam yang diselenggarakan pada saat memasuki musim penghujan. Representasi makna indeks personal; orang-orang yang terlibat pada saat ritual maupun pada saat melakukan tarian Gawi. Latar Belakang : Kelainan refraksi menduduki peringkat ketiga besar penyebab kebutaan. Kelainan refraksi sudah bukan hal yang jarang lagi terjadi pada mahasiswa kedokteran. Paparan sinar biru dari gawai berperan sebagai salah satu penyebab kelainan refraksi. Di era modern ini, dalam pembelajarannya mahasiswa kedokteran seringkali terpapar sinar biru yang berasal dari gawai. Penelitian dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh kebiasaan paparan radiasi blue light terhadap kelainan refraksi. Metode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik dengan rancangan cross-sectional. Penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik total sampling dengan mengambil data seluruh mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Airlangga angkatan 2018. Hasil : Dari 83 subjek penelitian didapatkan 62,7% perempuan, 37,3% laki-laki. 16,9% berusia kurang dari 19 tahun, 51,8% berusia 19 tahun, 22,9% berusia 20 tahun dan 8,4% berusia diatas 20 tahun. P value antara hubungan silinder dengan jarak mata ke gawai 0,727. P value hubungan silinder dengan posisi 0,891. P value hubungan silinder dengan durasi penggunaan gawai 0,140. Hubungan miopi dengan jarak mata ke gawai didapatkan p value 0,702. Hubungan miopi dengan posisi, didapatkan p value 0,382 dan hubungan miopi dengan durasi didapatkan p value 0,552. Pembahasan : Hasil penelitian ini ada yang sejalan dengan penelitian terdahulu namun ada pula yang bertentangan. Hasil yang sama didapatkan karena penggunaan metode yang sama. Sedangkan yang hasilnya bertentangan dikarenakan perbedaan metode penelitian dan juga usia sampel. Simpulan : Tidak adanya hubungan signifikan antara kebiasaan paparan radiasi blue light terhadap kelainan refraksi mata pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Airlangga angkatan 2018. Blends were optimized for protein (10-20%) and fibre (3-5%), using Design Expert Version 6.0.8. and variables “garri” (56-65%), soy cake (13-24%) and whole millet (11-22%) flours, which generated 14 blends. 100% ‘garri’ flour and three blends with highest protein and fibre contents were evaluated for proximate composition, physico-chemical properties and mineral profiles including mineral safety index of selected minerals. Protein and fibre contents of blends increased with increased proportions of soy cake and millet flours. Protein contents of blends increased (15.55–15.83%), while carbohydrate reduced (73.73–74.06% significantly (p < 0.05), compared to 100% “garri” flour (2.11% and 92%), respectively. 100% “garri” flour had significantly (p < 0.05) higher values for most functional and pasting parameters, compared to the blends, but no significant (p > 0.05) difference among the blends for most pasting properties. Swelling index correlated positively with both carbohydrate content and water absorption (r = 0.60). There was significant (p < 0.05) difference between mean calculated and standard MSI values for all minerals, while sample GSM-1 had highest calculated MSI values for all minerals except Ca and Na. Varying proportions of “garri”, soy cake and millet flours significantly (p < 0.05) altered the proximate composition, functional properties and mineral profiles of the blends but did not significantly (p > 0.05) affect most pasting parameters.

Provitamin A cassava (PVAC), a biofortified yellow cassava, has great potential to alleviate vitamin A deficiency in sub-Saharan Africa. Blending PVAC with an underutilized legume, African Yam Bean (AYB), in gari production will go a long way in reducing protein and vitamin A malnutrition problems in sub-Saharan Africa where gari is a staple food. Gariwas produced from PVAC mash substituted with varying proportions (0, 7.5, 15, 23 and 30%) of AYB using simplex lattice design expert (version 16.0). The gari samples were evaluated for their nutritional composition, physicochemical properties and anti-nutritional factors. Sensory attributes of the products were evaluated using a 7-point hedonic scale. Moisture contents of all the gari samples were below 5% indicating safe level for prolonged storage. Substituting PVAC with AYB at varying proportions resulted in 14.4-23.7%, 16.3-23.5%, 19.8-20.3% and 15.5-20.3% for ash, protein, calorific and beta-carotene contents, respectively, and 18.3–21.8% reduction in fiber content. Production of gari from blends of PVAC and AYB significantly (p<0.05) increased pH level and reduced total titratable acidity of the gari samples. Gariproduced from 92.5% PVAC and 7.5% AYB mash had the least value of 1.20 mg/kg HCN, and 100 % cassava gari had the highest value (5.0 mg/kg) of HCN. The swelling capacity decreased with increase in the substitution level of AYB in the mixture. The results of syneresis of the samples followed a similar trend with that of swelling capacity. Water absorption capacity and reconstitution index showed increase with increase in the level of AYB inclusion. The anti-nutritional factor of the gari sample ranged from 1.95 to 5.65% for trypsin inhibitor, 4.53-31.02 mg/100g for total phenols, and 2.56-5.33 mg/100g for alkaloids. Gariproduced from 100% PVAC was the most preferred in terms of colour, texture, aroma and appearance while gari substituted with 7.5% AYB was best preferred in terms of taste. Significant difference (p<0.05) was recorded for the overall acceptability attribute of 100% PVAC gari(control sample) which was best rated by the panelists. It was concluded that a substitution of 7.5% AYBintoPVAC mash gave the gari with the best overall quality acceptability. These findings indicated the potential of AYB in gari processing to curb vitamin A deficiency among the vulnerable group.

Cassava is a tropical crop that can be processed into a variety of products including flakes popularly called gari. Gari is a product obtained from cassava root by fermentation, but the root from which the gari is obtained spoils rapidly. Efforts have been made to extend the shelf life of the root through the use of traditional and improved storage techniques, for example storage in boxes, freezing and refrigeration. However, the quality of the products from refrigerated roots, such as gari, has not been reported. In this study, cassava roots were refrigerated for a period of three weeks and the physicochemical properties of gari from the stored roots were determined. With the exception of the carbohydrate content which was very similar (approx. 88%), refrigeration of cassava roots significantly (p < 0.05) affected the physical and chemical properties of the resulting gari. The cyanide content decreased from 2.96 to 1.90 mg/ kg with increase in refrigeration period, while the functional properties including bulk densities and swelling power were only slightly affected. Cassava roots can be refrigerated for a period of two weeks without substantial changes in the eating quality of the resulting gari, if the storage condition is closely monitored. Future studies are required to investigate the physicochemical properties of other valuable products from refrigerated cassava roots to determine their potentials in food and non-food applications. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ordered Probit and Spearman correlation models. The study finds garri, fufu (pounded cassava) and tapioca as the three major cassava products consumed while rice, yam and beans as three the major substitute of garri by the households in the area. The households preferred garri over other cassava products as the factors of household choice, nutritional value and availability. The coefficient for age was negative while coefficients of cost of cassava products, marital status and household size were positively related to choice of cassava products consumed in the study area. The study therefore recommended for policies that will effectively promote cassava product consumption should emphasize on the adult population and household size. Judo is a combat sport that involves throwing the opponent onto the back. When being thrown, head biomechanics may be related to head injury risk. This study aimed to assess head injury risks associated with four Judo techniques in children and adolescents with different experience levels. Twenty children (<12 years) and 20 adolescents (≥ 12 years) judoka were recruited. Each group was divided into non-expert and expert. Two inertial sensors were fixed on fallers’ head and torso. Two backward ( o-soto-gari and o-uchi-gari) and two forward ( ippon-seoi-nage and tai-otoshi) techniques were performed. Peak of linear and angular head acceleration magnitude, impact time duration, neck angle, and the Gadd Severity Index were assessed. Children did not show differences between techniques or experience levels. In contrast, adolescents showed greater linear acceleration peak in o-soto-gari than tai-otoshi (p = 0.03), greater angular acceleration peak in o-soto-gari and o-uchi-gari than ippon-seoi-nage (p < 0.05), and greater neck flexion in o-uchi-gari than ippon-seoi-nage (p = 0.004). Compared to expert adolescents, non-expert adolescents showed greater angular acceleration peak, impact duration, and the Gadd Severity Index in o-soto-gari (p < 0.05) and greater neck extension in o-uchi-gari (p = 0.02). Current results pointed out higher risks for adolescents judoka while being thrown with backward techniques, especially for non-expert participants. This study highlights the need of training athletes in controlling head and neck during back falls from a young age to become expert judoka in adulthood.

Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari 25 aitem skala intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan reliabilitas 0,780 dan 48 aitem skala keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal dengan reliabilitas 0,928. Jenis analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial menggunakan teknik analisis product moment pearson dengan diperoleh koefisien korelasi (rxy = -0,190) yang signifikan (p = 0,036 ≤ 0,05), maka disimpulkan H1 diterima H0 ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal pada siswa.

Growing dogs were divided into three groups and were fed on nutritionally-balanced diets. Control dogs were fed on a rice diet, the cassava (gari) group ate a diet in which gari provided the carbohydrate source, while the rice + cyanide group consumed the rice diet to which hydrocyanic acid (equivalent to that present in gari) was added. Each group consumed its diet for 14 weeks, during which plasma thiocyanate concentration and total serum triiodothyronine (T3) were monitored. At the end of the experiment the concentrations of the plasma free amino acids phenylalanine and tyrosine, the thyroid weights and histology were determined. While plasma thiocyanate remained undetectable in control dogs, animals consuming both gari and rice + cyanide generated significant amounts. In the control dogs and the gari group, total serum T3 increased 40 and 38.8 % respectively from the basal level by the end of the period (P < 0.02). In contrast there was a decrease in T3 by 36% in the dogs fed on rice+cyanide (P < 0.05). This group also showed significant thyroid enlargement and a histological picture consistent with parenchymatous goitre, whereas the gari group was essentially normal. The relatively low mean thyroid weight, the rise in total serum T3 level and the normal histological appearance of the gland indicate that dogs that consumed the gari diet were essentially normal with respect to their thyroid function, in spite of their high blood thiocyanate content. In contrast, dogs that consumed rice with cyanide suffered from hypothyroidism and goitre. It is suggested that the gari diet, despite generating thiocyanate endogenously, when taken in a nutritionally-balanced diet with high-quality animal protein, has no deleterious effects on thyroid function.

The study examined the effect of consumer bargaining power on price flexibility of gari in Imo State, Nigeria. Data were drawn from the three agricultural zones in the state. A functional market in each of the zones was randomly selected. Primary data were obtained by means of interview schedule (questionnaire) administered to consumers of gari at retailers’ shops. Data were analyzed using descriptive techniques and ordinary least square (OLS) multiple regression analysis. The result showed that mean weekly consumers unit price of gari was ₦47.340/kg with a mean weekly purchase of 5.5 kg/week. About 53.33% of gari consumers have a weak bargaining index of 18.09, while the mean bargaining power of gari is 64.09% and this gave a baseline for gari retail price. The result of multiple regressions showed that the co-efficient of price of substitute (X1) household size (X6) and consumers income (X7) are positive and have significant relationships with consumers’ bargaining power. Consumers’ awareness of their bargaining power and good understanding of marketing system and its modus operandi, price trends, formation and fixing could help them take their proper place as price givers and kings in the market place hence, this study recommends the need for consumers’ to improve their level of education in order reposition themselves to make good use of market information to their advantage in bargaining. Consumers should form co-operative societies through which they can share market information, buy gari in bulk to reduce retail prices and at the same time play a key role in price formation. The processing of cassava into different staple foods, including gari, comes with occupational and environmental hazards. This research aimed at assessing the awareness of occupational health hazards associated with the processing of cassava (Manihot esculenta) into Gari, environmental impact and factors that influence the wearing of personal protective equipment. Ninety (90) Gari producers were randomly selected from Awutu Senya, Central Tongu and Ayensuano Districts of Ghana and interviewed using structured and semi-structured questionnaire. Results revealed that Gari producing industry was dominated by women (78.9%). The majority of cassava processors in the study area were aware of health hazards associated with the production of gari. However, most did not take measures to reduce or mitigate exposure to health risk. The Gari industry was less attractive to people above 60 years (8.9%). Training on occupational safety and health risk was low among processors. The usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) by processors was low. Only 3.3%, 16 and 17.8% used footwear, working gear and coat, respectively, during processing. Factors that influenced processors' decision to use PPE included years of experience in processing, knowledge of health risk associated with the processing of cassava into Gari, awareness of protective equipment and a visit to health facility relating to condition sustained at work. Producers were aware of the environmental effects of Cassava-mill effluent but did not treat effluents before discharge into the environment. Some environmental effects of mill cassava effluent identified by the gari producers were; reduction in soil productivity, destruction of vegetation cover, the killing of trees and bad odour. The low level of education and training accounted for the low usage of PPEs.

Abstract This article focuses specifically on two examples of fantasy stories and their translations into Russian: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Lewis 1950), a classic English fantasy story, and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Rowling 1997), a modern blending of fantasy with the traditional English school story. The analysis shows that the approach to translation is largely random. In the translations of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, there is some evidence of simplification as a strategy, and some confusion over the appropriate translation of cultural items in the translations of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Generally, however, the translators are shown not to have attempted to situate the stories in a Russian context, and have retained intact both the cultural backdrop and the moral values put forward in the works. A study of the reception of such works by young readers would provide valuable information about the success or failure of the translations discussed in this article.

This study was carried out to determine the glycemic index of coconut-enriched gari which was fermented at various durations. A total of 18 apparently healthy subjects participated in the study. The determination of total carbohydrate, crude fibre and available carbohydrate, followed by glycemic index was performed on six samples of the coconut gari using the standard operating procedure. The coconut gari samples (48 hours fermentation) gave mean glycemic index values ranging from 81.96 ± 3.42 - 84.96 ± 4.90 while the 72 hours fermentation gave a mean range of 74.34 ± 2.24 – 82.04 ±5.40. The samples were subjected to statistical analysis using ANOVA and found to be non-significantly (p > 0.05) different when compared to each other. The low G.I rating observed in coconut gari fermented for 72 hours is an indication that the food may be good for consumption as a staple except with under some exceptional conditions. This study suggests that extensive fermentation of gari enriched with coconut could be nutritionally appropriate for diabetics.

The regular use of local cassava varieties and the exclusion of the fermentation step in the processing of gari in Liberia may affect the composition and properties of gari, hence the need to evaluate its chemical composition and functional properties. Gari samples were randomly collected from markets (35) and processing centers (24) in Rivercess, Grand Bassa, Bomi, Margibi, Sinoe, Gbarpolu, Montserrado, and Grand Capemount Counties, and packaged in airtight polythene bags prior to laboratory analyses using standard methods, and the data generated analysed using Statistical Package for Social Scientist (SPSS Version 21). The results showed that the chemical composition of the gari samples is moisture content 6.40%; cyanogenic potential 20.70 mg HC/kg; pH 5.38; starch content 62.05%; fat content 2.77%; ash content 1.20%; total titratable acidity (TTA) 0.01 g/100 mL; and protein content 1.05%. The functional properties of the gari samples is water absorption capacity 525.13%; oil absorption capacity 175.59%; least gelation concentration 6.13%; dispersibility 39.48%; bulk density 65%; swelling power (SWP) 8.04%; and solubility index 14.96%. Peak viscosity is 165.60 RVU; trough viscosity 149.10 RVU; breakdown viscosity 16.50 RVU; final viscosity 251.02 RVU; setback viscosity 101.92 RVU; peak time 6.48 min; and pasting temperature 50.82 °C. All the chemical composition and functional properties were significantly (p &lt; 0.05) affected by the products except for ash, TTA, and protein contents as well as the SWP (p &gt; 0.05). The addition of moringa leaf powder, groundnut paste, roasted coconut chips, and milk powder increased the fat and protein contents of the gari compared to the non-enriched products. Gari of improved quality can be produced in Liberia if the available local cassava varieties with high cyanide content are fermented before roasting or the newly introduced low cyanide varieties are used for gari production with the stipulated standard operating procedures

Plasma free amino acids were determined from pooled samples taken at the end of the experimental period, and the insulin status of the dogs was evaluated using the gluconeogenic index. The dogs were killed and the pancreas examined for histopathology. Dogs fed on both gari diet and the rice+cyanide diet generated significant amounts of thiocyanate when compared with the controls, with the rice+cyanide group having higher plasma thiocyanate than the gari group (P < 0.01). Plasma lipase activity rose significantly at the end of the experimental period in the dogs fed on gari (P < 0.05). Gluconeogenesis from protein was greatest in the dogs fed on gari, five times greater than that in the control dogs, while gluconeogenesis from protein in the dogs fed on rice+cyanide was approximately twice as high as that of the control dogs. Histopathological examination of the pancreas showed haemorrhage, necrosis, fibrosis and atrophy of the acinar tissue and fibrosis of the islets of Langerhans in the dogs fed on gari. The pancreas of the dogs fed on rice+cyanide showed similar lesions but haemorrhage was not prominent and fibrosis was more marked. The present study indicated that a hypoinsulinaemia developed which was more severe in the animals fed on gari than in the dogs fed on the rice+cyanide diet and that the condition was not related to the level of plasma thiocyanate or the histopathology observed.

Abstract:
To establish a basis for initial diagnosis and for proposing preventive measures for the serious neck injuries occasionally experienced by judo practitioners, the biomechanical mechanisms of these injuries were analyzed. Two male judo experts repeatedly threw an anthropomorphic test device (POLAR dummy) using three throwing techniques (Seoi-nage, Osoto-gari, and Ouchi-gari). The dummy’s kinematic data were captured using a high-speed digital camera, and the load and moment of the neck were measured with load cells. The neck injury criterion (Nij) and beam criterion were also calculated. In Seoi-nage, the anterior and parietal regions of the dummy’s head contacted the tatami (judo mat). Subsequently, most of the body weight was applied, with the neck experiencing the highest compression. However, in Osoto-gari and Ouchi-gari, the occipital region of the dummy’s head contacted the tatami. Significantly higher values of both Nij (median 0.68) and beam criterion (median 0.90) corresponding to a 34.7% to 37.1% risk of neck injury with an abbreviated injury scale score ≥2 were shown in Seoi-nage than in either Ouchi-gari or Osoto-gari. In judo, when thrown by the Seoi-nage technique, serious neck injuries can occur as a result of neck compression that occurs when the head contacts the ground.

Wandgliederungen durch Pfeiler und Nischen bilden in der durch die Lehmziegelbauweise geprägten Architektur des Alten Orients seit dem sechsten Jt. v. Chr. ein weit verbreitetes Phänomen. In meinem Beitrag möchte ich stellvertretend für viele andere einige Beispiele früher Pfeiler-Nischen-Architektur aus Tepe Gawra und Telul eth-Thalathat erörtern, zwei wichtigen prähistorischen Siedlungen im Umland von Ninive. Tepe Gawra liegt rund 20 km nordöstlich von Ninive in einer Ebene zwischen dem Tigris und der Fußzone des Zagros, Telul eth-Thalathat dagegen etwa 60 km weiter westlich in der Sinjar-Ebene. Die im folgenden vorzustellenden Architekturbefunde überspannen einen Zeitraum von der Ubaid- bis zur Ninive V-Periode. Insbesondere die lange Schichtensequenz von Tepe Gawra ist dabei hinsichtlich der Genese der frühen Pfeiler-Nischen-Architektur in Nordmesopotamien von hoher Aussagekraft, da sie nicht bloß einige wenige Gebäude, sondern eine auf größerer Fläche ergrabene Siedlung umfaßt.Die Schichten XX–XV des Tepe Gawra datieren in die ausgehende Halaf- und die Ubaid-3-Zeit. Mehrere Rundbauten aus den Schichten XX und XVII (Abb. 1) zeigen zungenartige Vorsprünge an den Mauerinnenseiten, die offenbar bautechnisch zu erklären sind.3 Die Vorsprünge dürften als Stützen der Wand- und Dachkonstruktion, sowie teilweise vielleicht auch als Raumteiler gedient haben. Ähnliche Gliederungen an Rundbauten kennt man ebenfalls aus Telul eth-Thalathat. Dort begegnen sie auf Tell II an der Circular Construction H-R. 1 und im Bereich des Locus E-R. 1 (Abb. 2). Beide Belege aus Telul eth-Thalathat datieren in die Phase Ubaid 3, entstammen also der gleichen Zeit wie die Gliederungen aus Tepe Gawra.

A study was carried out at the Teaching and Research Farm of the Department of Crop Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka to evaluate the growth and yield of four improved cassava varieties, determine their optimum NPK fertilizer rate and the best modes of fertilizer application for increased productivity. The experiment was factorial laid out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Four varieties of cassava, four fertilizer rates and three modes of fertilizer application were used for the study. The early planting had higher survival count, number of leaves, tuber and garri yield when compared with late planting. The variety TMS 98 05 05 gave significantly (p< 0.05) higher number of leaves, tuber and garri yields of 39.8 and 9.68 t/ha, respectively, at 12 months. At 6 months of crop growth, 200 kg/ha fertilizer application rate gave significantly higher tuber and garri yield of 24.69 t/ha and 5.15 t/ha, respectively. Furthermore, 400 kg/ha of NPK fertilizer rate gave higher tuber and garri yields of 39.4 and 10.12 t/ha, respectively at 12 months of crop growth. Split application of fertilizer gave significantly higher tuber and garri yield from single application, though it is statistically similar to split-split application. Therefore, early planting, 400 kg/ha fertilizer rate and split application should be adopted for cassava production. The variety TMS 98 05 05 with higher growth and yield should also be adopted by farmers for cassava production in Nsukka derived savannah agro-ecology.

Fenomena ini juga terjadi pada generasi milenial dan generasi Z di Kecamatan Kuranji. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan perilaku komunikasi milenial dan generasi Z di Kecamatan Kuranji danmelihat degradasi komunikasi antarmuka yang terjadi. Adapun teori yang digunakan adalah perilaku komunikasi, komunikasi interpersonal, komunikasi generasi milenial, komunikasi generasi Z, media baru, dan behaviorisme sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi Alfred Schutz dengan paradigma konstruktivisme. Penelitian ini menganalisis perilaku komunikasi generasi milenial dan generasi Z era digital di Kecamatan Kuranji dari sepuluh orang informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan empat perilaku generasi milenial dan generasi Z terbentuk di Kecamatan Kuranji, yaitu perilaku komunikasi dari aktif menjadi pasif disebabkan oleh gawai, berkurangnya komunikasi tatap muka disebabkan oleh gawai, tidak fokus dalam berkomunikasi disebabkan oleh gawai, dan perilaku komunikasi daring disebabkan oleh gawai. Dalam penelitian ini, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa perilaku generasi milenial dan generasi Z yang semula interaktif sebelum menggunakan gawai, setelah menggunakan gawai proses komunikasinya menjadi pasif, sehingga tidak terjadi komunikasi efektif. In the digital era, there has been a change in the communication behavior of millennial generation and generation Z. These changes can be seen in everyday life, such as the lack of face-to-face interaction due to the presence of devices. This phenomenon also occurs in the millennial generation and generation Z in Kuranji District. This study aims to describe the communication behavior of millennials and generation Z in Kuranji District and to see the degradation of communication interfaces that occurs. The theories used are communication behavior, interpersonal communication, millennial generation communication, generation Z communication, new media, and social behaviorism. This study used Alfred Schutz's phenomenological approach with the constructivism paradigm. This study analyzes the communication behavior of the millennial generation and generation Z in the digital era in Kuranji District from ten informants. The results showed that four millennial generation and generation Z behaviors were formed in Kuranji District, namely communication behavior from active to passive caused by devices, reduced face-to-face communication caused by devices, not focusing on communication caused by devices, and online communication behavior caused by devices. In this study, it can be concluded that the behavior of the millennial generation and generation Z, which was originally interactive before using a device, after using a device the communication process becomes passive, so there is no effective communication.

ABSTRACT Background: In 2011 there were 38% of gadget users in children aged 5 years in Indonesia and in 2013 increased to 72%. The use of devices makes children lazy to move and activities. This situation will affect the child's development both in terms of physical, motor, psychological, and social child.Objective: To identify the relationship between the duration and frequency of using a device to the social development of preschool children in the Permata Hati Hati Dua Islamic Kindergarten, Tangerang Regency in 2019.Methodology: This research is an analytic epidemiological study with cross sectional study design. The population in this study were all parents of students at the Permata Hati Kindergarten, totaling 54 people. Sampling uses total sampling. Primary data were collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis through two stages, namely univariate and bivariate using the Chi-Square test.Results: The majority of pre-school children had poor social development (55.6%), with duration of playing devices> 1 hour / day (53.7%), and frequency of use of devices> 3 days a week (55.6 %). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the duration and frequency of use of the device to the social development of children.Conclusions : There is a relationship between the duration and frequency of the use of the device to the social development of pre-school children. Suggestion : It is hoped that parents will be more selective in giving toys to children, especially granting permission to play devices. Keadaan seperti ini akan mempengaruhi perkembangan anak baik dari segi fisik, motorik, psikologis, dan sosial anak.Tujuan : Untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan durasi dan frekuensi penggunaan gawai terhadap perkembangan sosial anak prasekolah di TK Islam Permata Hati Kelapa Dua Kabupaten Tangerang Tahun 2019.Metodologi : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian epidemiologi analitik dengan desain studi cross sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian yaitu seluruh orang tua siswa di TK Islam Permata Hati yang berjumlah 54 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling. Data primer dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data melalui dua tahapan yaitu univariat dan bivariat dengan menggunakan uji Chi-Square.Hasil Penelitian : Sebagian besar anak pra sekolah memiliki perkembangan sosial yang kurang baik (55,6%), dengan durasi bermain gawai > 1 jam/hari (53,7%), dan frekuensi penggunaan gawai > 3 hari dalam seminggu (55,6%). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara durasi dan frekuensi penggunaan gawai terhadap perkembangan sosial anak.Simpulan : Ada hubungan durasi dan frekuensi penggunaan gawai terhadap perkembangan sosial anak pra sekolah.Saran Diharapkan orang tua lebih selektif dalam memberikan mainan kepada anak,terutama pemberian izin bermain gawai.Perlu Ketegasan dan pendampingan dari orang tua dalam memberi Batasan durasi dan frekuensi penggunaan gawai oleh anak Kata Kunci : Durasi, Frekuensi, Gawai, Perkembangan sosial, Anak Prasekolah
