A Bayesian belief network (BBN) model, which we named BxINROW/NET, was developed to represent the relationships among in-row spacing regimes, some agroclimatic variables known to influence storage root initiation, growing degree-days (GDDs) to harvest, and yield grades in ‘Beauregard’ sweetpotato grown in Louisiana. The model was developed from experimental data collected in a subset of years between 1990 and 2010 and assumed that soil moisture, weeds, and chemical injury were not limiting variables during the growing season. The BBN model error rates for storage root yields were 21%, 20%, and

Durum wheat is used as raw material for many foods. Climate change might be responsible for larger or smaller changes in crop yields. For the combined assessment of climate and crop, growing degree days (GDDs) have a crucial role. Two experimental lines and twelve commercial wheat (Triticum durum) varieties from diverse backgrounds were cultivated to compare their crop properties, yield, and protein content in terms of GDDs. The experiment was established in typical Mediterranean environment, using a randomized complete block design with blocks of varieties and lines for two growing seasons. F

In this paper the intersection problem for a pair of kite-GDDs of type 4u is investigated. The intersection problem for kite-GDDs is the determination of all pairs (T, s) such that there exists a pair of kite-GDDs (X,H,B1) and (X,H,B2) of the same type T and |B1?B2| = s. Let J(u) = {s : ? a pair of kite-GDDs of type 4u intersecting in s blocks}; I(u) = {0, 1,..., bu ? 2, bu}, where bu = 2u(u ? 1) is the number of blocks of a kite-GDD of type 4u. We show that for any positive integer u ? 3, J(u) = I(u).

Abstract Alternative ingredients and co-products from the ethanol and biofuel industries represent an opportunity for utilization in swine diets. The objective of this study was to determine standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of AA in two yeast-based high protein DDGS products (HP-DDGS) fed to growing pigs in comparison to common swine diet protein sources. Cornstarch-based diets were formulated using six ingredients as the sole source of AA: spray dried HP-GDDS, ring dried HP-GDDS, conventional DDGS, soybean meal (SBM), enzymatically-treated soybean meal (HP300) and fishmeal (FM). Abstract We report a new series of archaeal lipids, widespread in marine sediments and tentatively assigned as isoprenoid glycerol dialkanol diethers (GDDs). They are structural analogs of isoprenoid glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraethers (GDGTs), with one glycerol unit missing and with each biphytanyl moiety possessing a terminal OH group. Identification is based on molecular formulae determined from accurate mass measurement and interpretation of mass spectral fragmentation patterns. There was a linear increase in leaf area and vegetative dry matter from about 200 to 1000 GDDs after budbreak. Cluster dry weight increased linearly from 750 GDDs after budbreak until harvest. Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problems are often associated with tradeoffs between performances of the available alternative solutions under decision making criteria. These problems become more complex when performances are associated with uncertainty. This study proposes a stochastic MCDM procedure that can handle uncertainty in MCDM problems. The proposed method coverts a stochastic MCDM problem into many deterministic ones through a Monte-Carlo (MC) selection. To that end, we first construct a GDS using a generative adversarial network, trained on 52,591 designs of various ship types. Next, we constructed three modes of exploration, random (REM), semi-a

Iron mains within the natural gas distribution network are subject to corrosion and brittle failure. These failures give rise to gas escapes and the consequent risk of fire and explosion. To address this issue, the Gas Distribution Network operators (GDNs) are undertaking a 30-year programme of iron mains risk reduction (IMRRP). This technical review provides an independent analysis of the safety benefits realised by the decommissioning programme. The conclusions of this review will be used by HSE to inform the next iteration of the Iron Mains Enforcement Policy for the period 2026 to 2032.

Abstract:
Several major papers have been published over the last ten years claiming to have detected the impact of either annual variations in weather or climate change on the GDPs of most countries in the world using panel data-based statistical methodologies. These papers rely on various multivariate regression equations which include the annual average temperatures for most countries in the world as one or more of the independent variables, where the usual dependent variable is the change in annual GDP for each country from one year to the next year over 30-50 year time periods.

Abstract:
This paper examines the widespread perception in India that the country has an acute teacher shortage of about one million teachers in public elementary schools, a view repeated in India’s National Education Policy 2020. Using official DISE data, we show that teacher vacancies cannot be equated with teacher shortages: while the number of teacher vacancies (in teacher-deficit schools) is 766,487, the number of teacher surpluses (in surplus-teacher schools) is 520,141, giving a net deficit of only 246,346 teachers in the country. Secondly, removing estimated fake student numbers from enrolment d
