Abstract:
SASA (SA, 1996) caters for the participation of a wide range of stakeholders who have an interest in education. In terms of section 23 of SASA (SA, 1996) the membership of the School Governing Body (SGB) consists of representatives of parents, educators, learners, support staff and the principal as ex-officio member. Section 23 (6) of SASA (SA, 1996) states that SGBs may co-opt a member or members of the community to assist in discharging its duties. This implies that participation in school governance is extended to members of the community, who are referred to as external stakeholders in this study. Therefore the aim of this research study was to investigate the extent to which these external stakeholders participated in the activities of school governance. The research made use of a qualitative research design to determine the extent of participation by external stakeholders in school governance. The findings revealed a lack of participation by external stakeholders in activities of school governance. The study further highlighted some of the challenges that hindered participation by external stakeholders such as transport problems which resulted in non-attendance of meetings, poor communication of information, lack of trainings resulted in lack of knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of SGBs, language barrier, lack of time and lack of confidence from some stakeholders. A model is thus proposed as a solution to involve external stakeholders to participate in the activities of school governance. In order to do so, the aim was to design and construct a pyrolytic reactor (GEET), based on available literature, as well as related scientific technical articles. This reactor, when in operation, obtains extra energy, necessary for the pyrolysis process, of the thermal energy produced by the combustion of the exhaust gases. This feature allows a mixture of water (fractured in hydrogen gas and oxygen gas) and gasoline to be used as fuel. To determine the efficiency of the GMG, working with the GEET, two well-defined experiments were performed. The first experiment was characterized by the operation and use of the GMG equipped with a new carburetor (factory original) and which, when in use, used only ordinary vehicular gasoline as fuel. The second experiment was characterized by the removal and replacement of the carburetor by the pyrolytic reactor (GEET), which allowed the use of water and gasoline (vehicular and aviation) as fuel, according to the proportions defined in the methodology. In both cases, temperature stability, electric charge behavior (fp = 1), fuel consumption (common gasoline and aviation) and, above all, the efficiency of the system were analyzed. It was possible to observe a certain thermal stability of the main structural block of the engine (block, head, head cover and spark plug), both in operation with the carbureted system (conventional) and with the GEET - Pantone system. Regarding the consumption, it was possible to verify that the GMG, when reaching the voltage near the nominal (115Vac), for the same type and value of load fed, the GEET device, applied was not efficient when using water and common gasoline for vehicular use , Resulting in an increase in fuel consumption, because in the process of mixing common gasoline with water (in the proportions defined by the methodology), this increased water inhibited the burning power of the anhydrous alcohol (dissolution) at the same time as There was no volatilization / atomization of the mixture, even with the return of the exhaust gases to the mixture reservoir (bubbling), which, at worst, could have caused an increase in the compression ratio, probably improving performance Of the set and reducing the operating temperature in the combustion chamber. However, when using the GEET-Pantone system with aviation gasoline, what it observed was a greater efficiency (%) for aviation gasoline in the proportion of 25/75 (twenty-five percent of aviation gasoline and seventy Five percent water, respectively), with an average yield of 8.46% versus 6.44% using GEET-Pantone only with aviation gasoline. The results obtained are not conclusive, yet, due to the relevance and innovation of the technological proposal, it justifies further studies of the subject.<br>Este trabalho apresenta, uma nova abordagem, em termos de eficiência energética, para a geração de eletricidade, utilizando um pequeno Grupo Motor Gerador – GMG, movido a combustão interna (alimentado com água e gasolina), a partir da tecnologia de reator pirolítico (GEET), visando à redução global de consumo, estabilidade de temperatura e melhoria do arrefecimento, com consequente redução do custo do kW produzido. Para isso, buscou-se dimensionar e construir um reator pirolítico (GEET), tendo como base, literatura disponíveis, além de artigos técnicos científicos relacionados. Este reator, quando em funcionamento, obtém energia extra, necessária ao processo de pirólise, da própria energia térmica decorrente da queima do combustível, proveniente dos gases de exaustão (escapamento). Tal característica permite que se utilize como combustível, uma mistura de água (fraturada em gás hidrogênio e gás oxigênio) e gasolina. Para determinar a eficiência do GMG, funcionando com o GEET, foi realizado dois experimentos bem definidos. O primeiro experimento se caracterizou pela operação e uso do GMG equipado com carburador novo (original de fábrica) e que, quando em funcionamento, utilizou somente gasolina veicular comum como combustível. O segundo experimento se caracterizou pela retirada e substituição do carburador pelo reator pirolítico (GEET), que permitiu, o uso de água e gasolina (veicular e de aviação) como combustíveis, conforme proporções definidas na metodologia. Nos dois casos, foram analisados a estabilidade da temperatura, o comportamento com carga elétrica (fp = 1), o consumo de combustível (gasolina comum e de aviação) e, principalmente, a eficiência do sistema. Foi possível observar, uma certa estabilidade térmica do principal bloco estrutural do motor (bloco, cabeçote, tampa do cabeçote e vela de ignição), tanto em funcionamento com o sistema carburado (convencional), quanto com o sistema GEET – Pantone. Quanto ao consumo, foi possível verificar que o GMG, ao atingir a tensão próxima da nominal (115Vca), para um mesmo tipo e valor de carga alimentada, o dispositivo GEET, aplicado não se mostrou eficiente quando utilizando água e gasolina comum de uso veicular, acarretando, inclusive, num aumento do consumo de combustível, pois no processo de mistura da gasolina comum com a água (nas proporções definidas pela metodologia), esta água acrescida, inibiu o poder de queima do álcool anidro (dissolução) ao mesmo tempo que não ocorreu uma volatização/atomização da mistura, mesmo com o retorno dos gases do escapamento para o reservatório da mistura (borbulhamento), o que, na pior das hipóteses, poderia ter provocado um aumento da taxa de compressão, melhorando, provavelmente, o desempenho do conjunto e reduzindo a temperatura de operação na câmara de combustão. Todavia, ao se utilizar o sistema GEET-Pantone com gasolina de aviação, o que observou, foi uma eficiência (%) maior para a gasolina de aviação numa proporção de 25/75 (vinte e cinco por cento de gasolina de aviação e setenta e cinco por cento de água, respectivamente), com rendimento médio de 8,46% contra 6,44% utilizando o GEET-Pantone somente com gasolina de aviação. Os resultados obtidos não são conclusivos, ainda, devido a relevância e inovação da proposta tecnológica, justifica estudos mais aprofundados da matéria.

Assuring quality of the education is the overriding role of the Ministry of Education. The new adopted model for Whole School Evaluation is different from the previous school inspection system carried out in South Africa under the apartheid regime. Accountability is the cornerstone of all the programmes that are aimed at improving the quality of learning and teaching in our schools. It is therefore important to evaluate whether or not our efforts have an impact in the schools. It is against this background that the monitoring and evaluation became a reality and a necessity. Accountability is anchored by monitoring and evaluation. Formerly it was assumed that the systems would work without any monitoring and evaluation process. But the dawn of democracy dictated that monitoring and evaluation process is a clear reality and an integral part of any programme. This research project looks into the effectiveness of the performance management programmes with regard to Whole School Evaluation to the educators in the Mafikeng District of the North West Province. Some of the issues discussed in this research are t How effective is this programme in building up the school education system as a whole? • Are there any problems encountered in the proper implementation process? • Is this programme functional? Abstract:
This thesis aims to explore the spread of populist propaganda on social media on the case of the Dutch politician Geert Wilders and Twitter. The research questions of this thesis focus primarily on the message that is being spread by Mr. Wilders and his followers, the way his followers react to this content and the attempt to securitize Islam through populist propaganda. The thesis uses the methodology of discursive thematic interpretation to analyze the narrative that is being spread. In order to collect data for this analysis, the analytical tool NodeXL Pro has been employed. This tool made it possible to not only collect data and identify the people interacting with a theme, but also visualize their position within the network. The thesis uses datasets collected by NodeXL for the discursive thematic interpretation of data. The analysis itself is divided into different sections, first analyzing the content shared by Geert Wilders and identifying the themes and reconstructing the narrative. Next, the analysis moves on to more specific subsections, such as important hashtags or examples of active users from Wilders' proximity. NodeXL was also helpful in modelling the networks and discovering the echo chambers formed around Geert Wilders.

With the soaring advance of technology, not only the use of smart phones become more popular, but also the applications of augmented reality (AR) are more available and affordable. Currently, this brand-new technology has already been applied in many fields, such as recreational games, ads on interactive devices, navigation systems and artistic works. This research introduce an artistic creation combined with AR technology and 2D painting. Users can appreciate multi-dimensional virtual animation through an installed app on mobile phones or tablets. Moreover, as users move their devices, they can enjoy additional stereoscopic feeling, animation as well as background music. By this way, our creation can arouse the people’s interests and convey more information about the concept of creation to the viewers. With the merge of AR technology and the notion of surrealism, we can not only achieve the abundant stereoscopic sense but establish an illusion of viewers locating in a fantasy and wonderful world. The greatest vision and affluent details can provide viewer an opportunity to observe details of creation from different directions, which can facilitate senses of interaction and recreation that cannot be derived by traditional art work.
