Abstract:
This research is about the factors that influence job satisfaction amongst female teachers in primary schools. Three goals have been set: 1. To determine the nature of job satisfaction from the literature. 2. To determine the factors that influence female teachers' job satisfaction from the literature. 3. To determine through empirical research to what extent female teachers experience job satisfaction and which factors influence her job satisfaction. After the nature of job satisfaction was determined from the literature as well as the factors that influence job satisfaction, a questionnaire has been developed. From the literature overview it appears that the factors that influence job satisfaction can be divided in four categories: factors within the person, factors within the classroom, factors within the work situation and factors within the community. The population consists of female teachers, working at primary schools in the Potchefstroom District. All women, working at post level 1, at schools with 500 or more learners have been asked to contribute to this research. The empirical part of the research showed that the factors within the work situation influence job satisfaction most, the factors outside of the classroom. The low payment is one of the factors that contribute to teachers' job dissatisfaction. The relationship to learners, parents and principals also influences the job satisfaction of the female teachers. Less important for female teachers at primary schools is the fact that the family would be a barrier for their promotion. Intimidation by learners in the school is not an influential factor either. Female teachers working at schools attended by predominantly black learners experience less job satisfaction than their colleagues working at schools attended by predominantly white learners
Thesis (M.Ed.)--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2005.

Shen, Yung-Chi, and 沈永祺. "A Hybrid Model for Technology Assessment." Thesis, 2010. http://ndltd.ncl.edu.tw/handle/gek3et.

Full text
Abstract:
博士
國立交通大學
科技管理研究所
98
Technology assessment, which influences the advantages of firms or countries, is a multi-criteria decision issue. This study proposes a hybrid approach integrating the interpretative analysis, the fuzzy Delphi method and the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) to construct a technology assessment model for the emerging technology of organic emitting light diode (OLED) display. The interpretative analysis is used to identify the positive prospects and the negative problems within the development of aimed technology field. The fuzzy Delphi method is applied to integrate the experts’ judgments toward the importance of technology assessment criteria. The FAHP is adopted in this study to eliminate the ambiguity and vagueness within experts’ thinking and derive the weights of technology assessment criteria. The weights distributed to the prospects and the problems and the difference between prospects and the problems can serve as a reference for the industry applying this technology in order to make R&D planning and strategy and decide whether to invest the targeted technology or not. In this study, Taiwan is a research base for its OLED display industry which has occupied the third position in the global market since 2005. The purpose of this paper is to offer an example as to how a technology firm or even a country can evaluate or position certain emerging technology in the process of resource investment decision-making. Finally, some strategic and managerial suggestions according to the results are drawn in this research for related policy makers.

Tsai, Chang-Yi, and 蔡長益. "Population Phylogeny of Gekko hokouensis Based on Mitochondrial 12S rRNA and Cytochrome b Sequences." Thesis, 1999. http://ndltd.ncl.edu.tw/handle/51774902769432861446.

Full text
Abstract:
碩士
國立中山大學
生物學系
87
Using partial 12S rRNA and cytochrome b sequencing to analyze the population variation and phylogeny of Gekko hokouensis from 15 populations in Taiwan and accessory islands. Constructed by both distance and maximum parsimony methods, the phylogenetic tree distinguish the Gekko hokouensis to 5 clades: 1.Western group; 2.ChaoShi population; 3.Eastern group; 4.Northeastern group; and 5.Southeastern group. The phylogenetic position of ChaoShi population remains ambiguous, which may be one of the Western group. According to phylogenetic tree and genetic distances, I infer that Lanyu population may be originated from HenChuen. Besides the molecular phylogeny, 15 morphological characters were also analyzed by Principal Component Analysis to realize the morphological variation between populations. It reveals that nearly all population are not distinguishable expect the ChaoShi population. Besides above, the control region and the neighboring, the 12S rRNA and cytochrome b genes were also sequenced, total 2865 bp, to be a reference for future study.
