The repression machinery was shown to be functionally conserved between yeast and flies, as the $\alpha$-amylase promoter was used to express luciferase-based reporter constructs in a glucose repressible manner in Saccharomyces. Abstract:

Abstract:
Cariniana legalis Mart. O. Kuntze (Lecidiaceae) is the largest tree of the Atlantic Forest. To contribute to in situ and ex situ genetic conservation programs for the species, herein we investigate the genetic diversity, inbreeding, intrapopulation spatial genetic structure (SGS), mating system and contemporary pollen flow in three fragmented populations of this species. We found 65 adult trees in the Ibicatu population, 22 in MGI, and four in MGII. Seeds were hierarchically sampled among and within fruits directly from the canopy of 15 seed-trees in Ibicatu (n= 40), five seed-trees in MGI (n=

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico<br>The objective was to use microsatellite DNA markers in simulations to study genetic, ecological and reproductive patterns that contributed to the genetic structure of five fragments of the forest tree species Luehea divaricata Mart. & Zucc, growing in the Pampa biome (Brazil). Various rates of selfing and migration were simulated. Selection criteria included observed and expected heterozygosity, whith values of 0,52 and 0,64, respectively (based on microsatellite markers). Reproductive mode was mixed, with a predominance of outcr
