Abstract With the development of iron and steel smelting technology, the application proportion of DC electric arc furnaces will gradually increase in the future. In this paper, the Simulink model is built with reference to the 130-ton DC electric arc furnace produced by ABB ZHONG Shan Transformer Company Limited. In the model, the power performances of the large-capacity DC electric arc furnace are explored by adjusting the trigger angle, DC side arc resistance, and DC reactor values. From the result of the simulation, the power performances of the DC electric arc furnace are mainly affected

The need for electrical energy from year to year influences the need for electrical energy at every level of the general public and industry as electricity users. Because electricity has become a part of life (Roza, 2019). In this case, there are separate challenges that must be faced by every company operating in the electricity supply sector, especially the State Electricity Company (PLN), which is the sole company in serving electrical energy needs. The power generation centers are far from the load center, this results in quite large losses in the distribution of electric power. So, when d

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to look at trends in the Japanese mobility industry, analyze Toyota Motor’s mobility strategy, and then seek implications for the Korean government and companies. The reason for looking at Japan’s industrial trends is that not only has Japan made various efforts early on in this field, but Korea is similar to Japan in demographic structure, and so there are many things to refer to from Japan’s industrial trends. Also, looking at Toyota Motor’s case in relation to corporate strategy, we can find that the company not only clearly presents its strategy as a m

PurposeThe purpose of this teaching case is to introduce students to an alternative business model as practiced by the Haier Group, a Chinese company, and how that model was used to turn around an acquired company in the United States of America (USA). The explicit teaching objectives are threefold. First, the case provides insights into Haier’s unique employee-centered culture. Second, Haier’s efforts to transfer parts of its culture to the newly acquired General Electric (GE) Appliance Division are discussed. Third, to improve the performance of the acquired division, Haier had to invest in
