Abstract:
This report is talking about the applications of procedural generation in games. There are many AI-generated games on the market, such as No Man’s Sky. Due to the huge curiosity about it and the purpose of studying how procedural generation works, the research delved into the principles of procedural generation of dungeons. To start with the research, we first focused on a dungeon, analyzing how the dungeon is created and then we consider how the procedural generation works. Typically, all the resources are from the internet, including some academic tutorials. By separating the whole problem into three parts (terrain generation, content generation and object generation), we finally realized each part of the procedural generation, and how it works to build a simple dungeon. First, in terrain generation, we focus on a different algorithm to generate the terrain, such as fractal terrain generation, bitmap terrain generation and generating landscape by Perlin noise. In the second part, content generation usually generates loots, enemies and creates a dungeon system with various rooms and paths. And the last one is object generation, for example, which holds creatures, trees, weapons, vehicles and so on. Through these methods, we can gain a deeper understanding of the significant role of procedural generation. All in all, through the above-mentioned aspects to illustrate their respective effects on procedural generation, and guide people’s preliminary cognition and understanding of procedural generation.

Abstract:
Abstract : This study investigates the prevalent use of artificial intelligence (AI) among college students at Far Eastern University. Despite the risks, it aims to understand the primary reason behind the continuous use of AI. According to academics, the benefits of implementing AI in higher education include better inclusion, increased efficiency in administrative costs, and improvements in the learning-teaching process (Pisica et al., 2023). However, the extreme utilization of AI among students has led to cheating and plagiarism for many reasons that impact their personal lives and mental health. The researcher identified potential gaps while assessing possible solutions to lessen the student using Artificial Intelligence (AI) excessively. Moreover, the researcher used a quantitative method analysis involving 40 college students from 1st-year level to 4th-year level to explore the impacts of Artificial Intelligence on their academic tasks and learning styles. Thus, examining the utilization of AI from different year levels of Far Eastern University college students revealed that the researcher provides valuable insights into addressing the challenges posed by excessive dependency on AI while maintaining academic integrity and the need for the students to develop their critical thinking skills. After the researcher analyzed the collected data, it showed that the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for academic workloads varies among participants covering different college students, showing that first-year students rely on AI due to peer pressure. In contrast, the second-year students use it to improve their academic standing. Third-year students depend on AI because of time constraints, while fourth-year students use AI to minimize the possibility of human errors. The study conveys no significant differences in the probability of using AI for academic purposes, and it does not prevent the students from using AI regardless of their year level. Therefore, the researcher recommends proposing stricter AI checkers and educating the students on responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) usage to mitigate academic misconduct.

Abstract:
Accelerating project can be rewarding. The consequences, however, can be troublesome if productivity and quality are sacrificed for the sake of accelerating the schedule. The trade-off among schedule pressure and its causes and effects are often overlooked when schedule decisions are being made. Altogether 68 respondents including owners, consultants, contractors, supervisors and workers were purposively selected from ten construction projects in Nepal. The perception level of schedule pressure and their agreement on twenty hypothesized statements were gathered for the study. Result shows that major drawbacks of schedule pressure are working out of sequence, generating defective works, wastage of materials, increasing construction costs, cutting corners, and losing the motivation to work; and thus generating claims and disputes. Adverse effects of schedule pressure can be minimized by scheduling construction activities realistically and planning them proactively, motivating workers, and establishing the effective project coordination and communication mechanism.Journal of Advanced Academic Research Vol.1(1) 2014: 76-84

Abstract:
The generation of innovation in the academic environment involves the development of technology/product, technological transfer and business, which together make up the Technological Business Planning Process (TBPP). This process can be divided into three stages: world of technology (initial stage), world of transition from technology to product and business (intermediate stage), and world of business (final stage). In this context, there is the Lean Startup (LS) methodology, which comprises a set of potential practices to facilitate the operationalization of these stages of development. However, the existing literature is incipient and lacks guidance on the LS practices with the greatest potential to contribute to each of these stages, which constitutes a theoretical gap. Thus, this research aims to identify the LS practices most used by researchers-entrepreneurs in the different stages of the Technological Business Planning Process. The methodological approach used was the case study in an important Brazilian public university. In this context, nine innovation projects in the process of generating technological business were analyzed. The results show four main contributions: i) the practices contributed mainly to the intermediate phase of the TBPP; ii) BMC and MVP were considered the most important practices to operationalize TBPP; iii) the LS practices contributed significantly to the knowledge management between team projects; and iv) the combined implementation of the practices highlighted the benefits for TBPP. This study contributes to technology innovation management in the academic environment and provides some gaps that can be developed in future works in technological projects context.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Science and care partnerships work on promoting quality of life, care and work in long-term-care (LTC) settings. The Scientific Linking Pin (SLP) is an academic employed by a university and works one day per week in a LTC organisation. The SLP role is pivotal to the success of partnerships; the nature of this role has not yet been captured. Methods Fifteen SLPs took part in semi-structured interviews. Data were thematically analysed. Results Data are presented over two themes. The first theme, the SLP experience, outlines that SLPs have rich insights into what matters to, and the challenges experienced in LTC organisations. SLPs are well positioned to impact practice, and develop their professional careers. SLPs do experience doubts and insecurities and require mentorship/supervision. The second theme, navigating in a SLP role, outlines the multifaceted tasks involved: relationship building, raising awareness, identifying priorities, generating research questions, building committees, brokering knowledge, developing research studies, generating academic output, building links and connections, and assisting with internal projects. The challenges SLPs face in their work include mistrust and poor engagement from care staff, working with staff from different professional backgrounds, research not being a priority, multiple and rapidly changing priorities, and differences in expectations. Relationship building, creating a ‘safe’ space for care staff, building engagement, and expectation management helped to address these challenges. Conclusion Partnership working in the care sector is gaining international recognition and adoption. This study described one key role that contributes to the success of the partnership model: the SLP.

At a recent time, a number of academics ranging from the ‘practical and theoretical academics,’ ‘political academicians,’ ‘academic politicians’ to ‘academic bureaucrats’ are encouragingly striving for responding to the demands of internationalization of Higher Education because of the pressure of global education interests. With the spirit of ‘education liberation’ relying on the General Agreement of Trade in Services (GATS) as a result of ‘industrial globalization matrix’ which is associated with economic motives initiated by the World Trade Organization (WTO) makes some developed countries enthusiastically promote their higher education institutions to a number of countries. Consequently, the invigoration of Indonesian government to all domestic universities to immediately program their institutions as the agents of economy development. Nonetheless, the implementation and management of Tri Dharma are not only specified on developing the strength of national economy but also on social conscience to make the current creativity and innovation can be more relevant to the need of subsistence resources development based on Indonesian characters and uniqueness driven by the moral sense of humanity, fairness and civilized policies. Therefore, the revitalization process should be accordingly manifested toward the principles of Tri Dharma of the university as mandated by Pancasila, Constitution of 1945, Law, GBHN and all of the derivative regulations, not strictly due to the insistence of global pressures. Thus, human resources must be the main agenda to revitalize among other potentials in generating and optimizing the ethic of scientific works in Tri Dharma activities in fulfilling the current necessitates without harming the interests of Indonesian populace. Finally, when Foreign Higher Education policies (FHE) are commercially inclined to globalize their education system and research which is relatively ‘capitalism’, thus our national higher education should be increasingly characterized by the humanity affectionate which elevates the dignity of Indonesia by providing serious devotions and concerns on social and community service.

Abstract:
To ensure a comprehensive and scientifically rigorous analysis, adhering to standardized procedures serves as the foundation of any investigation. In the realm of digital forensics, the establishment of well-defined protocols for generating exhaustive reports to analyze digital evidence holds paramount importance. These reports not only carry significance in legal contexts but are also increasingly valuable across various industries for internal purposes. Esteemed organizations like the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have played a pivotal role in shaping recognized standards in this domain. The primary goal of this report is to conduct an in-depth comparison between two prominent digital forensics standards: ISO/IEC 27037, widely embraced in industries, and NIST SP 800-86, predominantly prevalent in academic circles. Through this comprehensive analysis, the report aims to provide valuable insights to Digital Evidence First Responders (DEFR), including law enforcement, academia, and industry professionals. By elucidating the discrepancies, scopes, and limitations inherent in each standard, DEFRs can bolster their understanding, thus empowering them to make well-informed decisions during digital investigations. Future works in this field should focus on the continual evolution of digital forensic practices, adapting to new technologies and challenges, and ensuring that standards remain up to date with the dynamic digital landscape.

Abstract:
Much of modern econometrics stems directly from the post-1940 works of Haavelmo and the Cowles Commission (CC) Monograph 10. This paper examines the consolidation process of the Haavelmo-CC research program mainly during the 1950–70 period from three aspects: (i) developments of econometrics textbooks, (ii) emerging themes and trends in econometric research, and (iii) the contribution of the program to empirical modeling of real-world issues. The examination reveals that the program has gained dominance primarily through its adherence to the scientific banner and style rather than its empirical relevance. The adoption of the hard science methodology is decisive in winning over the academic community; the taxonomy of econometrics into steps involving primarily specification, identification, and estimation has played a pivotal role in generating compartmentalized research topics with manageable technical challenge and also in facilitating the educational need for compiling self-contained subjects and definitely soluble questions.

The concern of scientists, educators, philosophers, poets and observers regarding man's distancing from nature dates back many centuries. In this sense, this work aimed to analyze the historical context of Environmental Education in Amazonas from 2008 to 2021, through a bibliographical review tracing the relevant points in this process, which contributed to the strengthening of EE in recent years. For data collection, the SCIELO, Google Academic, Google Scholar, Capes and Plataforma Sucupira databases were used, language was not limited in an attempt to obtain a relevant amount of theoretical reference, for data collection, information provided and disclosed without consider the period of publication. An average of 43 scientific works were found, including articles, dissertations and theses, of which only 20 were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Of these works, all were published in Portuguese. With regard to Environmental Education in Amazonas, there is an urgent need for it to be participatory, transformative and emancipatory, in search of the transition from naive consciousness to critical consciousness. And for praxis to occur (reflection-action), the generating themes, proposed by Freire, can meet the confrontation of the society/culture and nature dichotomy and, in this sense, implement the attributes of EE in a Critical-Transforming perspective.

Abstract:
The last three decades have witnessed a significant increase in the academic interest in the Beat Generation. No longer seen as “know-nothing bohemians” (Podhoretz 1958), scholars have extended the scope of Beat studies, either by generating renewed interest in canonical authors, by expanding the understanding of what Beat means, or by broadening the aesthetic or theoretical lens through which we read Beat writers and poets. Among these, the transnational perspective on Beat writing has sparked careful re-examinations of Beat authors and their works that seek to recognize, among other things, the impact that transnational cultures and literatures have had on Beat writers. Diane di Prima’s long poem Loba (Di Prima 1998), a feminist epic the poet started writing in the early 1970s, draws on a vast array of transnational texts and influences. Most notoriously, di Prima works with mythological and religious texts to revise and challenge the representation of women throughout history. This paper explores di Prima’s particular use of world narratives in light of a feminist poetics and politics of revision. Through the example of “Eve” and the “Virgin Mary”, two of the many female characters whose textual representation is challenged in Loba, the first part of the paper considers di Prima’s use of gnostic and Christian discourses and their impact on her feminist politics of revision. The second part of the paper situates Loba in the specific context of Second-Wave feminism and the rise of Goddess Movement feminist groups. Drawing from the previous analysis, this part reevaluates di Prima’s collection in light of the essentialist debate that analyzes the texts arising from this tradition as naïve and apolitical.

Abstract:
Background context Academic meetings serve as an opportunity to present and discuss novel ideas. Previous studies have identified factors predictive of publication without generating predictive models. Machine learning (ML) presents a novel tool capable of generating these models. As such, the objective of this study was to use ML models to predict subsequent publication of abstracts presented at a major surgical conference. Study design/setting Database study. Methods All abstracts from the North American Spine Society (NASS) annual general meetings (AGM) from 2013–2015 were reviewed. The following information was extracted: number of authors, institution, location, conference category, subject category, study type, data collection methodology, human subject research, and FDA approval. Abstracts were then searched on the PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases for publication. ML models were trained to predict whether the abstract would be published or not. Quality of models was determined by using the area under the receiver operator curve (AUC). The top ten most important factors were extracted from the most successful model during testing. Results A total of 1119 abstracts were presented, with 553 (49%) abstracts published. During training, the model with the highest AUC and accuracy metrics was the partial least squares (AUC of 0.77±0.05, accuracy of 75.5%±4.7%). During testing, the model with the highest AUC and accuracy was the random forest (AUC of 0.69, accuracy of 67%). The top ten features for the random forest model were (descending order): number of authors, year, conference category, subject category, human subjects research, continent, and data collection methodology. Conclusions This was the first study attempting to use ML to predict the publication of complete articles after abstract presentation at a major academic conference. Future studies should incorporate deep learning frameworks, cognitive/results-based variables and aim to apply this methodology to larger conferences across other fields of medicine to improve the quality of works presented.

<strong>Abstract:</strong> The topic of this study is driven by the need to reconsider concepts, norms and tools in the field of academic authorship protection, which, in the era of open science and open access, would allow not only to introduce restrictive measures, but also to maintain a balance between the interests of copyright holders and users and provide authors with a wider range of opportunities to research, publish and disseminate the results of their scientific works. Changes in the nature and essence of modern science, pace of its development, content of new scientific knowledge and forms of protection of academic authorship are influenced by both external and internal factors. It has been established that external (extra-academic or extra-scientific) socio-cultural and economic factors in the development of science are not constant, but are always associated with the progress of society. At the present stage, these factors primarily reflect the impact of such processes as globalization, internationalization, integration, technologization and digital transformation. The main trends in the development of science also arise under the influence of internal (intra-academic or intra-scientific) intellectual factors that contribute to the emergence of original ideas, motivate individual scientists to create new theoretical knowledge and practice-oriented innovations, encourage them to seek adaptive channels that allow them to communicate and disseminate the results of their research, thus realizing the basic ideals of scientific cognition. Together, these external and internal factors are generating an acute social demand for organizational and financial models, methods and technologies, as well as ethical standards and legal means to protect academic authorship that did not exist before. We conducted our study in light of the evolving paradigm of "Open Science" with all its attributes (open access, transparency, inclusion, etc.) aimed at popularization, openness, accessibility and benefits of academic/scientific research (e.g., data collection, data analysis, variables, samples, software, publications, dissemination of findings, etc.) to all members of society, whether amateur or professional. The UNESCO recommendations, enshrined in 2021, articulated the key values and guiding principles of "Open Science", namely open scientific knowledge, open scientific infrastructure, open scientific communication, open collaboration between scientists and those outside the academic community, open dialog with different knowledge systems, etc.&nbsp; Studying the materials presented by UNESCO and other earlier documents proclaiming and even promoting the principles of open access to academic and scientific journals and literature (e.g., Budapest Open Access Initiative, 2002; Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, 2003, etc.), we came to conclusion that advancement of the best ideas of open science in Russian society is impossible without certain educational work with university teachers, scientists and persons outside the academic community, as well as without legal support and reconsideration of approaches to protection of the rights of authors. The purpose of this article is to clarify the conceptual apparatus of "Open Science"; reveal the features of "Open Science", its principles and attributes; identify external and internal factors influencing modern science and establish directions for its development; systematize the forms of possible violations of the rights of authors (e.g., unfair borrowings, academic fraud, plagiarism, etc.) and ways to protect academic authorship from the point of view of legal regulation, possibilities of the Creative Commons open license and in the context of the development of information and digital technologies that provide easy access to the network and Internet resources. This article might be of interest to university teachers, educators, methodologists and researchers.

Abstract:
This paper is focused on a proposed valuation method including real estate market cycle analysis in real estate valuation process. Starting from early works on this field (d'Amato 2003) the work highlight the dangerous gap between academic research on property market cycles and professional practice of property valuation. The danger of this gap comes from the fact that in spite it is well documented that the property market has a “natural” cyclical behaviour, the opinions of value based on income approaches still relies on assumption of a stable or perpetually growing (or decreasing) income. This may be one generating factors of the real estate bubble and the subsequent financial markets crisis experienced recently. This paper offers a general introduction on cyclical capitalization as a further family of valuation methodologies based on income approach. This method includes in the traditional Dividend Discount Model more than one g-factor in order to plot property market cycle. An empirical application of Cyclical Capitalization is offered to the office market of the Eastern London.

Abstract:
AbstractSince Ovid’s version of the Narcissus narrative, numerous readings and re-narrations have emerged across the globe that are related to the ancient myth of the beautiful youth who unwittingly sees himself in a pool of water and eventually dies staring at the insubstantial image. Generating a wide spectrum of reinterpretations of values, ideas, and aesthetic aspects inherent in the ancient narrative, its reception history has continued to elicit some of the most diverse intellectual responses to Greek and Roman mythology, each of them reflecting the cultural context in which they were produced. The present article is devoted to this issue, providing introductory perspectives on the Ovidian narrative and its ramifications by giving particular examples, especially of works taking up central themes of Ovid’s version, such as reflection and deception, illusion and (self-)cognition, passionate love for another and the incurable desire for oneself. Sensitive to the cultural contexts out of which the examples emerge, the paper conceptually frames the topics of narrative and narcissism, and contextualizes them by drawing on insights from several theoretical strands and academic disciplines.

Abstract:
Short-term building load forecasting is indispensable in daily operation of future intelligent/green buildings, particularly in formulating system control strategies and assessing the associated environmental impacts. Most previous research works have been focused on studying the advancement in forecasting techniques, but not as much on evaluating the availability of influential factors like the predicted weather profile in the coming hours. This article proposes an improved procedure to predict the building load 24 hours ahead, together with a backup weather profile generating method. The quality of the proposed weather profile generation model and the forecasting procedures were examined through a case study of application to university academic buildings. The results showed that the load forecasting accuracy with the application of either the real weather data on record or of the predicted weather data from the profile generation model is very much similar. This indicates that the weather prediction model is suitable for applying to building load forecasting. Besides, the comparisons between different sets of input data illustrated that the forecasting accuracy can be improved through the input data filtering and regrouping procedures. Practical application: A weather profile prediction technique for use in building energy forecasting was introduced. This can be coupled to a building energy use forecasting model for predicting the hourly consumption profile of the next day. This prediction time span can be crucial for formulating the daily operation plan of the utility systems or for smart micro-grid applications. The appropriateness of the methodology was evaluated through a case study.

Abstract:
AbstractDysnomiais a 2013 recording by the jazz trio Dawn of Midi scored for acoustic piano, bass and drums. Eschewing jazz chords, improvisation, swing rhythms and theme and variations, the music is instead organised around repeating rhythmic loops and interlocking melo-harmonic fragments, as one groove assemblage segues into the next like an evolving DJ set. The music sounds equal parts minimal process, electronically sequenced and traditional African. This article engages the musical and philosophical concepts at play inDysnomiato think through writing about music via three paths of speculative inquiry. The first part of the article considers works by Kodwo Eshun, Paul Morley and David Sudnow, idiosyncratic thinkers outside of the mainstream of academic music discourse who vividly approach writing about music through defamiliarising language and inventing concepts, generating associations based on comparative listening and describing the dynamics of musical process. In the second part of the article I draw on these writing techniques to direct my repeated listening encounters withDysnomiaand construct a prose interpretation modelled on the polyrhythms of the music. I conclude with a brief discussion of the phenomenological perspective on musical essences and suggest that music is a model for thinking through writing about music.

Abstract:
This study explores the external hierarchy of French film discourse, proposing a model that accounts for the elements generating this discourse and its interactions with other discourses within a hierarchical framework. The empirical material includes French films from 1990 to 2024 and elements of film text embedded in advertising, music, media, internet, and online literature discourses. Addressing the limited research on discourse hierarchy in modern linguistics, the study aims to identify and systematize the external hierarchy of French film discourse. The relevance of this research stems from the growing academic interest in film discourse and the lack of dedicated studies on its hierarchical organization. The author introduces a novel model that not only explains the generative elements of French film discourse but also situates it in a broader matrix of interacting discourses. The study employs discourse analysis, alongside theoretical methods such as generalization, synthesis, induction, and deduction. The findings reveal that the external hierarchy is shaped by generative elements – works of art, folklore, historical events, biographical details, and philosophical ideas – which occupy higher hierarchical levels relative to the discourse itself. Film production is also influenced by the socio-cultural context, emphasizing culturally significant elements and suppressing taboo topics. The research further demonstrates that the hierarchy of French film discourse relative to other discourses is mediated by poly-discursive units. These units function within one discourse while bearing content from another, positioning film discourse hierarchically above advertising, internet, media, online literature, and partially music discourses. This study enhances our understanding of the structural and functional properties of French film discourse and its broader cultural implications.

Abstract:
The current work attempts to organize a detailed and thematic survey of the key empirical works on the food security scenario of India. This review paper recognizes its collected literature as a sample based on which inferences about the larger population of actual analytical patterns on this issue are made. We concentrate our attention on the selected empirical works on this issue undertaken during the period 1991-92 till 2018-19. Our sample of evidence has been constructed by accounting for the facts such as the disaggregated nature of the evidences and the differences in quality of analysis across different sources, among others. We have stressed particularly on the issues, debates, controversies and proposed solutions that have characterized the efforts on the analysis of food insecurity threat in India. Preliminarily, we find that there is a strong disagreement among the analysts on matters such as the fundamental units of analysis; the appropriate economic and social frameworks needed to understand this issue; the policy matrix that can help tackle this challenge and the statistical and econometric strategies required for generating reliable as well as spatially and temporally consistent insights. The key insights of this paper include, among others, the importance of the macro-micro dimensions of the food insecurity challenge, the production-trade-productivity solutions on this issue, the quantity versus nutritional routes to attacking this challenge, the inherently multidisciplinary nature of food security analysis, the optimum institutional mechanisms for eliminating food insecurities and, the nexus between technology, productivity and distributional efficiencies in shifting India’s foodgrains production frontier to higher policy-targeted levels, still remain areas that require much more intense and exhaustive academic and policy exercises.

Abstract:
The relevance of the research is determined by finding the reasons for modern schoolchildren's decline in the motivation for reading in general and classical literature, in particular. According to the authors, the change in the semiosis of culture (change of the verbal code by a visual one), as well as the rigidity of the organization of reading practices in teaching, can be named among the circumstances that cause the reading crisis. In this context, the “golden pool” of the Russian literature is facing the threat of losing its culturegenerating potential. Goal: a critical analysis of the practice of organizing the reading of Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel “Crime and Punishment” in secondary schools; highlighting its basic constituents and hidden actions that program the students' perception; identifying the directions of re-actualization of a classical literary text potential in school teaching. Objectives: the reconstruction of student and pedagogical discourse positions that objectify a literary work; a comparative analysis of educational dispositions; highlighting the discursive constituents of educational reading practices; identifying the directions of their renovation that make students' interest in reading a literary text more active. Methods of research: a critical discourse analysis; a conversion analysis; a pragmatic interpretation; survey methods (interviews, a focus group, experts' opinions). There have been found significant gaps in the dispositions of participants in educational reading, the presence of which is masked by common procedures of compulsion to communicative consent. Established were the key constituents of these practices (authorization, decontextualization, deactualization), which reduce the text of a literary work to the teacher's statements and the text in the textbook, which substitute the reading activity by a pseudo-literary replication. Substantiated is the didactic necessity of limiting the range of students' everyday experience actions of their educational interaction with an artifact text, alongside with developing a set of readers' new competencies based on the activation of perceptual-figurative parameters of a literary work perception and students' independent comprehension of the text. There have been established discursive operations of educational recontextualization (transformation into an academic subject) of the Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky's literary works, the objectification and reorganization of which will contribute to the growth of the generativeness of educational relations and increase their cultural-generating effectiveness based on links with the text-artifact. The general orientation of the subject “Russian Literature” towards the assimilation of methodologically codified material by students, which produces both the unification of the literary works being studied and the despecification of the cultural contributions of their authors, as well as the leveling of the individual character of the perception literary works by students, was critically assessed. Particular attention is drawn to the compulsion to communicative agreement (given the pedagogical perspective) in an educational interaction, which hampers a critical analysis of the text by school students, as well as the formation of a variety of reading practices. The optimization of the situation in teaching is consistent with the limitation of the literary component in studying the classical literary heritage, as well as with the expansion of the intermediary resource of visualization in relations with the text-artifact, and, above all, the activation of the ecphrasic dimension of reading a literary work.

Abstract:
A central purpose of historicist contextualism, or the “new history of political thought”, the central methodological ideas of which were laid out between the 1950s and the 70s, was to liberate the history of ideas from distorting influence of political ideology, nationalism, and other presentist narratives that ascribed past events under false teleologies. From the 1980s onwards, it has been possible to find explicitly normative statements in the works of the leading contextualist historians and scholars influenced by their work, for example, Skinner’s defences of neo-Roman republicanism. This article examines the normative content of contextualism. Instead of arguing that the normative aspect was a novelty introduced after the 1980s, the claim here is that contextualist theorising was socially and politically implicated and arguably normative from its very beginning. To substantiate this, the article offers an interpretation of the normativity of early contextualism based on its relationship towards broader socio-political themes such as ideology, agency, emancipation, progress, and societies’ relationship with their pasts. Early contextualist normativity assumed that the professional research of history would be a suitable and sufficient way of generating also socially desirable outcomes. Later, as the political and academic background conditions changed, this normativity was given more explicit (e.g. republican) formulations in order to keep up its political relevance.

Abstract <strong>Background:</strong>&nbsp;Hospital Information System (HIS) is used to improve intraorganizational communication and retrieve digital copies of medical records. In India, approximately 300,000 paramedics passed out annually from 8500 institutes, without HIS knowledge. In lack of trained paramedics, and unseen expenditures to train them, it is required to understand what is needed to augment efficiency in hospitals for generating revenue. Objective: The current paper aimed to bring attention about how HIS user comfortability is influenced through work experience in years, personal usage of computer for self-work, and hospital size (bed strength) where paramedic works. This is essential to improve work efficiency and enhance the quality of services.&nbsp;<strong>Methods :</strong>&nbsp;A crosssectional study with 505 paramedical staff through snowball sampling was interviewed online through a pre-tested schedule in Delhi-NCR. The sample size was calculated using Cochran&rsquo;s formula, considering the 50.0% prevalence of untrained paramedical on HIS. Correlation, regression, and Pareto analysis were conducted in SPSS (version-22.0).&nbsp;<strong>Findings:</strong>&nbsp;Although HIS awareness is high, 97% respondent did not receive any kind of computer education. 75% of them owned it through on-job experience and 96% of the respondent agreed that HIS training should be inculcated in academics. The correlation and regression association were found positive between &ldquo;hospital work experience&rdquo; (R2 = 0.72), &ldquo;numbers of hours computer used in a week&rdquo; (R2 = 0.92) with &ldquo;average comfortability score of using HIS&rdquo;.&nbsp;<strong>Novelty:</strong>&nbsp;This paper brings forth the idea of understanding &ldquo;average HIS user comfortability score&rdquo; and &ldquo;prevalence of HIS training in paramedic academic&rdquo;. The full potential of HIS to generate business is underutilized in India. This could be achieved by modifying existing paramedic curriculum. Currently, majority of problems associated with the HIS use is rectified by swift IT support, and intensified on-job-training, however it could be mitigated by intervention in the form of mandating HIS training in academic. <strong>Keywords:</strong> Electronic Medical Records; HIS User Comfortability Score; Hospital Information System; Paramedics; Health Management

The research dealt with the topic of (employing technology in the design of digital advertising and its creative representations in the products of art education students). The research contained four chapters. The first chapter dealt with: the methodological framework of the research, represented by the research problem that was revealed in the following question: How has technology contributed to employment in the design of digital advertising? They have no role in enriching the creative process and are represented in their artistic productions. The researcher determined the limits of the research, which were represented by the products of the students of the Department of Art Education - First Stage / College of Fine Arts/ University of Baghdad for the academic year (2020-2021), and then the researcher moved to the second semester, which included two sections. The title of the first section was employing technology artistically for advertising, and the section included the second is the creative process and aesthetic standards in the artistic achievement, and the researcher extracted a number of indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework: 1. The use of digital technical methods in employing shapes by following the technique of assembling and composing photographs, and generating a main rhythm between images and color values, served the functional aspect and the creative process of the advertising poster. 2. The computer showed a kind of diversity and excitement in the use of letters and their formal formulation in the design space. Among the most important conclusions is that the use of digital technology in the field of art education for practical academic subjects has given students the ability to diversify the styles of artistic production and facilitate the procedures used in producing these artistic works.

Over time, educational institutions have adopted new technologies or improved those they already used, thus generating large volumes of data. This data can help in the process of choosing certain strategies to improve teaching. However, there are many situations in which data is stored but is not used by management or other professionals to support decision-making. In some cases, this may occur due to the difficulty in finding a data analysis tool or method that does not require specific knowledge for its use. For this reason, this paper presents a bibliographic review of the literature with the objective of supporting the development of a data analysis architecture, called EdmLens DataFlow, which integrates processes of protection, transformation, loading, analysis and visualization of educational data. This architecture offers a holistic structure that, in addition to facilitating data interpretation, improves informed decision-making, promoting a monitoring and planning process. Therefore, the literature review covers the areas of Data Science, Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD), Data Analysis Architecture and Academic Analysis, and highlights the following elements as results for the development of EdmLens DataFlow: data protection from different sources and formats, working with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data; data transformation to make them all structured, performing normalization, cleaning and integration; loading the data into a Data Warehouse, as this storage approach works with structured data; data processing and analysis through artificial intelligence and machine learning; and data visualization, based on the analysis, using reports and interactive dashboards.

Abstract:
Evaluation of performance of mutual funds and identification of successful fund managers are of great interest to both investors and academicians. Two possible methods that are presumed to be used by fund managers for generating superior performance are identified as: Market timing: Market timing skills imply assessing correctly the direction of the market, whether bull or bear, and positioning their portfolios accordingly. Stock selection: Stock selection skills involve micro forecasting, which generally forecasts price movements of individual stocks relative to stocks and identification of individual stocks that are under-or over-valued relative to equities in general. The two pioneering works in this field is by Treynor Mazuy( 1966) and Henriksson Merton ( 1981). They developed two different models for testing the market timing and stock selection abilities of the fund managers but found little evidence of timing by the fund managers in their samples. Most of the other works mentioned in the paper have used these two models (which we name as traditional/unconditional models) or slight variations of the same for testing market timing and stock selection abilities of the fund managers. Person and Scadt (1996) modified the classical performance measures (of timing and stock selection ability) to take account of well-known information variables like interest rate, market dividend yield, etc. They termed it as ‘conditional approach’ of measuring mutual fund performance and claimed that conditioning on public information controls for biases in traditional market timing and stock selection models. Traditional models have taken the view that ‘any information’ correlated with the future market returns is superior information; in other words, they are unconditional models. Person and Scadt's approach used basically the same simplifying assumptions as the traditional models but they assumed, in addition, semi-strong form of market efficiency. The idea was to distinguish between market timing based on public information from market timing information that is superior to the lagged publicly available information variables. Although the academic literature on stock selection and market timing ability of mutual fund managers is rich and spans several decades, not many studies exist on this issue using emerging market data. This paper attempts to find the stock selection and market timing abilities of the Indian mutual fund managers using unconditional as well as conditional approaches. With a sample of 96 Indian mutual fund schemes, a lack of market timing ability and presence of stock selection ability were observed among the Indian funds managers in both unconditional as well as conditional approaches. A pooled regression was carried out for various categories of funds as well as for the entire sample, which also showed a lack of market timing abilities and presence of stock selection abilities.

Abstract:
The article discusses the issue of compiling large grammatical works, including academic grammars. In particular, answers are sought for such questions as the following: What is the scientific character (style) of compiling fundamental grammatical works? What should their scientific apparatus, their design and structure look like? What research methods should be used? What is their target audience? In order to achieve this purpose, we carried out a comparison of academic grammars originating in the Soviet Union and those fundamental, voluminous grammatical works compiled according to the European-American model. The experience of compiling grammatical editions in Turkic languages has also been taken into account. The ideas obtained as a result were used in compiling the next academic grammar of the Kazakh language. This article was written with the objective of sharing the experience and elaborating on the results of the comparison. It has been found out that fundamental grammatical works have their own scientific character (this concerns the Soviet school): academic grammars are written on the normative and descriptive basis, i.e. scientific descriptions must be accompanied by a normative differentiation. The structure is directly linked to the levels of language which the editorial board have chosen as the object of study (lexis, phonetics, word building, morphology and syntax). There are consistency and moderation in designing grammatical works as well. Research material and examples are taken from literary samples. These principles are based on the fact that academic grammars are oriented to scientific and educational community. At the same time, as European and American fundamental grammars are compiled for the general scientific community, the aforementioned academic principles may not be followed. Since fundamental grammatical works are not compiled very often (once in 20–30 years), such studies are not frequent either. The grammars created in the Soviet period have not been revised fully yet. It is specifically important to revise academic grammars, as it needs to document and standardize the new knowledge in the field of language. The issue of revising the academic grammar of the Kazakh language has been brought into the spotlight, and in 2022, the new generation of the grammar was prepared. For this reason, the conclusions of the article and the experience obtained while developing the new generation of the “Kazakh Grammar” may become useful while compiling new fundamental grammatical works.

Abstract:
In the wake of ChatGPT’s release, academics and journal editors have begun making important decisions about whether and how to integrate generative artificial intelligence (AI) into academic publishing. Some argue that AI outputs in scholarly works constitute plagiarism, and so should be disallowed by academic journals. Others suggest that it is acceptable to integrate AI output into academic papers, provided that its contributions are transparently disclosed. By drawing on Taylor’s work on academic norms, this paper argues against both views. Unlike “traditional” forms of plagiarism, use of generative AI can be consistent with the norms that should underlie academic research. In these cases, its use should neither be prohibited nor required to be disclosed. However, some careless uses of generative AI do threaten to undermine the quality of academic research by mischaracterizing existing literature. This, not “AI plagiarism,” is the real concern raised by ChatGPT and related technologies.

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to analyze the experience gained in the field of structural-semantic modeling by domestic and foreign phraseologists working in the mainstream of the scientific school of V. M. Mokienko, the founder of this method, and to present prospects of the method applied to a dynamic system of modern phraseology. The relevance of addressing this issue is determined by the high linguo-cultural and linguo-didactic potential of phraseological modeling, the need to identify opportunities for its use in the study of phraseological layers that have not yet been fully developed. Using the descriptive method to process the data presented in the works on structural-semantic modeling, the author summarizes the results obtained by phraseologists for four decades of active use of the method in historical, etymological and linguoculturological research. The scope of the method’s application to the material of different languages, the breadth of the research spectrum in terms of synchrony/ diachrony is emphasized: from the reconstruction of phraseology at the level of the protolanguage to the modeling of phraseological units-neologisms. The research material was not only scientific sources, but also language material: phraseology of Russian folk dialects, modern urban speech and Internet communication. Using the method of structural-semantic modeling in relation to these phraseological layers, the author demonstrates the possibility of identifying generating models of formation and transformation of phraseological units, which until recently was considered impossible. For the first time, the method of structural-semantic modeling is also considered as one of the phraseographic techniques implemented by V. M. Mokienko and his followers in the field of academic and educational lexicography. Thus, the review of scientific sources presented in the article and the results of the author’s own research prove the productivity of the method of structural-semantic modeling, confirm its relevance and broad prospects in the study of Russian phraseology.

Abstract:
For a long time, the online learning (OL) was reserved for a particular group of learners: mostly older people with multiple family, work, financial and other responsibilities. These students benefited from the opportunities offered by this type of educational modality compared to traditional face-to-face education. However, the emergence of the Sars CoV virus (and its derivatives) not only generated health problems, but also affected social structures, generating various problems in the field of education The general objective of the present research is to know the perceptions and evaluations that academic teaching staff from a engineering faculty have about the emergency online teaching-learning process that occurred in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic. Based on several previous works related to online learning (OL) and recently in the literature on emergency online learning (EOL), an instrument (questionnaire) was developed and implemented with the participation of teachers from a Chilean university. The research is quantitative-descriptive and had the following specific objectives: To know about (1) the readiness of the teaching staff towards the OL and (2) their interactions with others, to characterize (3) the use of different Self-management skills and (4) the interaction with LMS and ICTs., and (5) to know about the available resources for OL. In general, the results show that teaching staff show mastery in aspects related to self-management of learning, but a low level of motivation and readiness for OL and a "loss" in aspects related to interaction with others (students and peers). These results provide a first approximation to university teachers ' perceptions of OL and allow us to identify several aspects that should be improved. Abstract:
IntroductionEngaging communities and intended beneficiaries at various stages of health research is a recommended practice. The contribution of community engagement to non-communicable disease research in low- and middle-income countries has not yet been extensively studied or synthesised. This protocol describes the steps towards generating an understanding of community engagement in the context of non-communicable disease research, prevention and health promotion using a realist review approach. A realist lens enables a rich explanatory approach to causation while capturing complexity, and an openness to multiple outcomes, including unintended consequences. The review will thus develop an understanding of community engagement without assuming that such practices result in more ethical research or effective interventions. Methods and analysisWe propose a realist approach aiming to examine how, why, under what circumstances and for whom community engagement works or does not work. The iterative review steps include clarifying the review scope; searching for evidence; appraising studies and extracting data; synthesising evidence and drawing conclusions; and disseminating, implementing and evaluating the findings. Principles of meta-narrative review (pragmatism, pluralism, historicity, contestation, reflexivity and peer review) are employed to ensure practicable and contextualised review outputs. The proposed review will draw on theoretical and empirical literature beyond specific diseases or settings, but with a focus on informing non-communicable disease research and interventions in low- and middle-income countries. The synthesis of existing literature will be complemented by qualitative realist interviews and stakeholder consultation. Through drawing on multiple types of evidence and input from both experts and intended beneficiaries, the review will provide critical and pragmatic insights for research and community engagement in low- and middle-income countries.Ethics and disseminationEthical approval has been obtained from the University of the Witwatersrand. Dissemination will include traditional academic channels, institutional communications, social media and discussions with a wide range of stakeholders.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to develop a critical analysis of the innovation discourse, arguing that a more contextualised understanding of the challenges of innovation for development and poverty reduction in low-income economies will help the authors’ to unravel new development opportunities and provide alternatives to conventional capitalist paths to innovation. Design/methodology/approach The authors offer an integrative review of the literature addressing the topic of innovation emerging from within developing countries. Because existing innovation models are generally presented in ways that reflect practices and thought patterns inherent to the industrialised world, a literature review that offers an initial conceptualisation and synthesis of the literature to date on the theme of innovation from within developing countries provides for a more valuable contribution than a reconceptualization of existing models. Findings The paper highlights different narratives of innovation, how they emerge and what are their implications. The authors outline a research agenda for generating new knowledge about innovation capabilities in what is generally known as the developing world. Originality/value This paper shows that the recent evolution of the discourse of development is increasingly intertwined with elements that originated in other discursive worlds. The last three decades of innovation research have been characterised by a “cross-pollination” between different disciplines: development studies, science and technology studies, business management and organisation studies. By reviewing major research works conducted by scholars in these disciplines, this paper weds literature that heretofore have remained largely isolated from each other. The key innovation narratives that the study unveils – e.g. inclusive growth, bottom of the pyramid, grassroots innovation – address major questions of concern to these academic scholars around the political and socio-technical aspects that influence a firm’s capacity to innovate in the context of developing countries.

Abstract:
The study found that the activation of students’ health activities based on the use of sports and mastery of various sports skills is a motivating factor. Teachers of physical education, who conduct elective classes, are faced with the task of choosing ways and forms of organizing educational activities to master sports skills. The aim of the study was to reveal the essence of the implementation of the principles of health orientation and specify the components of readiness for physical activity (motivational, practical, psychophysiological and physical), clarify the criteria and identify indicators for high, medium and low levels. The study reveals the essence of the problem of forming a conscious positive attitude to physical education classes and a healthy lifestyle of students of art specialties in the conditions of optional groups. Regular physical activity is one of the key factors in maintaining health, and sufficient amount and regularity of physical activity – physical activity is a generating and stimulating factor in the process based on the natural connection of movements and the human psyche, which provides and controls the improvement of physical development and physical fitness of a person for life. The National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture is a Ukrainian higher art educational institution that has an academic focus and trains specialists in painting, sculpture, graphics, theater and decorative arts, architecture, restoration of works of art, art history and art management. The sedentary lifestyle of art students is of concern to psychologists and educators. It is established that the introduction of health and development technologies contributed to the formation of a conscious attitude of students to their own health and sports: payload and motivation, caused a steady interest in a healthy lifestyle. The objectives of the optional classes are to promote the development of interconnected strong motor skills, abilities and the development of motor skills.

Abstract:
A reference list is an essential part of a manuscript for an academic article. It is often necessary to reformat (i.e., change orders of pieces of article information such as authors, article title, publication year, and journal where the article was published) of a preformatted reference list when a manuscript is declined by one journal and submitted to another. EndNote, Zotero and Mendeley are examples of sophisticated reference management programs that help generate a reference list with less errors. However, their multifunctionality seems to have complicated the process of generating a reference list: they require many selection steps to obtain a final output, and also require to manually edit a file outside the execuiton program even to make small changes in the output. The author developed a program, Cafebr (Citation Amender/Formatter for Biological Research), to more simply generate a reference list for an article of biological research. It is written in HTML/JavaScript, and as such works on a web browser on any platform. On Cafebr, articles for a final reference list can be either given by a user or collected from PubMed. Pieces of article information are then extracted according to the format of these articles or to the delimiters designated by a user. Preset formats for output are currently only four, but all of them can be directly edited on the user interface, allowing to change output formats quickly and flexibly. All of the functions of Cafebr is available on its website (either http://stdtgm.itigo.jp/cafebr/cafebr.html (main) or http://studtsugama.s1006.xrea.com/cafebr/cafebr.xhtm (backup)) with aids of a CGI program. Abstract:
Natureza. AbstractThe concern of scientists, educators, philosophers, poets and observers regarding man's distancing from nature dates back many centuries. Abstract:
Elizabeth Povinelli describes late liberalism as the ‘governance of social difference in the wake of the anticolonial movements and the emergence of new social movements’. Taking museums and the impact of the turn towards participatory practice as a focus, I draw on both Povinelli’s ‘cunning of recognition’ and Brian Massumi’s diagnosing of Abraham Lincoln’s phrase ‘of the people, by the people, for the people’ to understand late liberalism as a loop or circuit where impossible to realise ideals, and ‘part-concept’ tensions create ongoing problematics which require daily negotiation in ways that draw political energy centripetally towards reform. Righteousness is proposed as an affective reflex ‐ a kind of starter fuel ‐ that works to kick into life the late liberal loop of museum constitution. Reflex ‐ holding the sense of an in-the-moment reaction ‐ is approached through activating two trajectories within theorisations of affect. The first trajectory is that of the relationship between affect, intuition and attachment as developed by Lauren Berlant. The second trajectory explores affect and intensities as taken up in different ways through Lawrence Grossberg and Brian Massumi’s engagements with Deleuze and Guattari. Methodologically, the article proceeds through specifying a contribution that experimental academic writing might make to conjunctural analysis ‐ working with Patricia Clough’s suggestion that experimental writing offers ‘methods … for cutting out an apparatus of knowing and observation from a single plane … with the aim of eliciting exposure or escaping it, intensifying engagement or lessening it’. In particular it is suggested that experimental writing might offer methods not only for generating political analysis, but also for retraining reflexes to enable political interventions. In the case of the righteous reflex of late liberalism it is suggested that retraining might be supported by turning the types of analytical attention offered by attachment and intensities into political techniques of detachment (following Berlant) and modulation (following Massumi). If the changing nature of museum workers’ reflexes can be amplified and then cultivated to suspend the righteous reflex, then different kinds of practice (not defined by inclusion and representation) might be given new space to emerge.

Abstract:
Some problems occur regarding work-life balance during the pandemic. This study tries to understand how lecturers face stressful situations related to job changes from traditional working in the office (before the pandemic) to working from home (pandemic) and then working from anywhere (after the pandemic). Data were collected from observations and in-depth surveys at two universities in Surabaya, Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. The research focuses on how lecturers respond to changes in work patterns during the pandemic. There were 26 informants interviewed, consisting of lecturers and administrative staff. In addition to interviews, this research actively participates in and collects various documents related to policies during the pandemic. There are three findings in this study. First, universities respond quickly to changes related to the development of the Covid-19 virus following government regulations regarding classroom learning policies. Second, lecturers and administrative staff continue to carry out their activities during the pandemic. Lecturers continue to perform their tri dharma, teaching, research, and community service. These activities use technology through Online Learning. In the new normal era, although learning has been carried out offline in the classroom, online learning techniques are still. Third, changing work patterns, especially during the lockdown, where work done at home creates pressure. There are two types of pressure, pressure due to multiple roles that must be carried out simultaneously at home and pressure due to the mandatory use of online learning technology.
