Abstract Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Latino women in the US. Compared to foreign-born Latino women, US-born Latino women have a higher incidence of BC. While prior studies have suggested this difference in incidence may be explained by risk factors such as unhealthy lifestyle behaviors, reproductive history, and neighborhood socioeconomic status, it is unclear how the risk of BC has changed over generations among Latinos women. In this study, we investigated the association between generational status and BC incidence among Mexican American women

If every person looks to others then the new born baby will be more versatile. If a man looks at all the women near to him then his feelings about all the women cause the good growth of his new born children. It is also true for females. Actually sexual thinking helps and creates more rigid children.

Abstract“Vajtim,” mourning, is an expression of women’s grief and cannot be counted in months or years: it is a continued expression of the inner world that for many women can take decades. In this paper, I examine how women have carried and preserved the lament songs of the Southern Albania region from generation to generation. Field research in my hometown, Gjirokastër, reveals how the laments songs are connected from mother to daughter within the families. Using descriptions of lamenting rituals, personal interviews with mourners, and analysis of lyrics and field recordings, I demonstrate h

This study explores the willingness to compete among native Dutch individuals and non-Western migrants in the Netherlands, with a particular focus on first-generation non-Western migrant women. Drawing upon existing literature on competitiveness and career preferences, this research suggests that non-Western migrants, especially the first generation of non-Western migrant women, may exhibit different levels of competitiveness compared to the native Dutch population or native Dutch women. This aspect is crucial for understanding the challenges non-Western immigrant women encounter in the job ma

This study extends health disparities research by examining racial differences in the relationships between multigenerational attainments and mortality risk among “Silent Generation” women. An emerging literature suggests that the socioeconomic attainments of adjacent generations, one’s parents and adult children, provide an array of life-extending resources in old age. Prior research, however, has demonstrated neither how multigenerational resources are implicated in women’s longevity nor how racial disparities faced by Silent Generation women may differentially structure the relationships be

Different ages have different political, material, and cultural elements, shaping different attitudes towards housework for women born in different generations.
