Abstract:
Determining whether a game generator is working properly is challenging, since it entails conducting potentially many evaluations of generated games and synthesizing these into a net evaluation of the system. The problem is compounded when the generator has a human-centered goal: for example, that the generated games should be interpreted as having certain mechanics or as being about particular ideas. In this paper, we examine the Gemini game generator and develop an evaluation instrument that tests the interpretability of its generated games’ mechanics and higher-order proceduralist arguments

Random numbers are very useful in simulation, chaos theory, game theory, information theory, pattern recognition, probability theory, quantum mechanics, statistics, and statistical mechanics. The random numbers are especially helpful in cryptography. In this work, the proposed random number generators come from white noise of audio and video (A/V) sources which are extracted from high-resolution IPCAM, WEBCAM, and MPEG-1 video files. The proposed generator applied on video sources from IPCAM and WEBCAM with microphone would be the true random number generator and the pseudorandom number genera

We construct a new form of supersymmetric quantum mechanics named orthosupersymmetric quantum mechanics. We show that there are p orthosupercharges Qα (α= 1,2, …, p) which satisfy the algebra [Formula: see text] where H is the Hamiltonian. The spectra of this class of systems are shown to be (p+1)-fold degenerate, at least above the ground state. We also discuss a model of conformal orthosupersymmetry of degree p and show that in this case there are p orthosupercharges, and p conformal orthosupercharges which along with H, dilatation generator D and conformal generator K form a closed algebra.

Cryptography techniques rely on chains of random numbers used to generate safe encryption keys. Since random number generator algorithms are in fact pseudo-random their behavior can be predicted if the generation method is known and as such they cannot be used for perfectly safe communications. In this article, we present a perfectly random generator based on quantum measurement processes. The main advantage of such a generator is that using quantum mechanics, its behavior cannot be predicted in any way. We verify the randomness of our generator and compare it to commonly used pseudo-random ge

Abstract:
Background: Mechanical stress such as orthodontic forces can produce mechanical damage and inflammatory reaction in periodontium. Osteopontin (OPN) is a multifunctional cytokine that found to be correlated with periodontal disease progression. As periodontal ligaments (PDL) can be affected by stress and PDL cells are involved in periodontal destruction and remodeling, we aimed to investigate the influence of mechanical stress on the expression and regulation of OPN in human PDL (HPDL) cells. Methods: The mechanical stress was generated by continuous compressive force and the expression of OPN

Abstract:
The causes of informality are many and range from imperfections in existing legislation and segmentation of the labor markets to macroeconomic adjustment programs and globalization. Some see in informality a mechanism for escaping unemployment, while for others it generates a spirit of entrepreneurship. The study has two objectives: i) To evaluate the degree of poverty and lack of social protection of informal workers in three of the region¿s countries: Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela. ii) To recommend mechanisms for broadening social security and assistance coverage of informal w

The lower-strength grades of steel used for transmission pipelines into the 60s were much like those used in other steel construction in that era. These steels gained strength by traditional hardening mechanisms through chemistry changes, largely involving carbon and manganese additions. Improvement of these grades, primarily through control of ingot chemistry and steel processing, became necessary when running brittle fracture was identified as a failure mechanism in gas-transmission pipelines in the late 50s. Eventually, this avenue to increasing strength was exhausted for pipeline applicat
