Resumo: No presente trabalho, apresentamos o primeiro mapa RH do cromossomo 16 bubalino (BBU16), construído com a utilização do painel celular BBURH5000. Seqüências de primers para PCR de 30 genes derivados do cromossomo 15 bovino (BTA15) foram testados com DNA de búfalo para a construção do mapa RH BBU16. Dos marcadores testados, 11 geraram produtos de PCR específicos com o DNA de búfalo, mostrando-se adequados para o mapeamento utilizando o painel BBURH5000. A partir de análises estatísticas, 9 genes foram incluídos no primeiro mapa RH do cromossomo BBU16 contendo apenas um grupo de ligação.
