Abstract:
Three new species of the big-eyed bug genus Nannogermalus Kondorosy & Kóbor, 2020 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea: Geocoridae: Geocorinae) are now described: N. herczeki sp. nov., N. pallgergelyi sp. nov. and N. webbi sp. nov. Additions and corrections to the generic description of the genus were made based on the newly acquired morphological knowledge. Key, diagnoses and distribution data for new species of the genus are provided. Ecological notes are given based on collection site data and literature regarding other geocorid taxa.

Apennocoris pilosulus Montandon, 1907 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea: Geocoridae), a peculiar representative of Geocorinae endemic to New Caledonia unreported since its original description is redescribed and illustrated based on its lectotype (designated in the present paper) and an additional non-type specimen. The placement of this monotypic genus within the subfamily Geocorinae is discussed.

Australocorinae subfam. nov., a new subfamily of family Geocoridae, is erected for Australocoris gen. nov. containing three species, A. kurandae Kirkaldy, 1908, A. fuscomaculatus sp. nov., and A. monticolus sp. nov., all from Queensland, Australia. Australocoris monticolus has been collected only from northern Queensland, near Julatten north of Cairns to Bellenden Ker Range area, and mostly at higher altitudes 800 to 1560 m; A. kurandae from usually lower altitudes of northern Queensland; and A. fuscomaculatus is known from southern Queensland. We report on the results of a chromosomal study of the big-eyed true bug Geocoris dispar Waga, 1839 (Heteroptera: Geocoridae) aimed at obtaining data on its telomeres. Using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), we have shown, that G. dispar has a non-canonical 10-bp telomeric motif TTAGGGGTGG. This is the first evidence of telomere structure in the family Geocoridae and the first finding of the telomeric sequence (TTAGGGGTGG)n in the large superfamily Lygaeoidea (infraorder Pentatomomorpha).
