Abstract:
I do not know what inspires me to use geometric shapes in my artwork. It may have started when I took my first jewelry and metalworking class in college. For one assignment, I had to find an artist and make an artwork that was inspired by his artworks. I choose is Sol Lewitt because I simply liked his opened cubes. Since I started studying in Jewelry and Metalwork and Sculpture at the University of Iowa, I my artworks are still based on geometric shapes. I enjoy them because they are shapes that I see around me everyday; such as textbooks, chairs, doors etc. In my thesis, I will explain my art

This thesis asserts that modern developments in technology have not been used as extensively as they could to aid blind people in their learning objectives. The same could also be said of many aspects of other areas of their lives. In particular in many countries blind students are discouraged from learning mathematics because of the intrinsically visual nature of many of the topics and particularly geometry. For many young people mathematics is also not a subject that is easily or willingly tackled. The research presented here has thus sort to answer whether a playful haptic environment could

Abstract:
Most of the work accomplished on surface blending is based on visual trimming. In the process of visual trimming, the unwanted portion of a surface is only hidden but not removed. Geometric trimming provides a complete mathematical description of the wanted portion of the trimming surface, and generates a new mathematical surface or sets of surface patches. The new surface is intended to resemble closely the corresponding portion of the original surface. A robust procedure is developed to geometrically trim the intersecting surfaces and blend the trimmed surface patches into one new surface.

In modern heat transfer, shape and geometric optimisation are new considerations in the evaluation of thermal performance. In this research, we employed constructal theory and design to present three-dimensional theoretical and numerical solutions of conjugate forced convection heat transfer in heat generating devices with cooling channels of different cross-sectional shapes. In recent times, geometric configurations of cooling channel have been found to play an important role in thermal performance. Therefore, an efficient ways of optimally designing these cooling channels shapes is required.

Our goal is to provide a mathematical and numerical setting to build relevant data attachment terms between those objects in the purpose of embedding it into the large diffeomorphic metric mapping (LDDMM) model for shape registration. Abstract:
This dissertation focuses on the mathematical design of a unified shape kernel for geometric computing, with possible applications to computer aided design (CAM) and manufacturing (CAM), solid geometric modelling, free-form modelling of curves and surfaces, feature-based modelling, finite element meshing, computer animation, etc. The generality of such a unified shape kernel grounds on a shape theory for objects in some Euclidean space. Shape does not mean herein only geometry as usual in geometric modelling, but has been extended to other contexts, e. g. topology, homotopy, convexity theory,
