Abstract:
Relevance . With growing economy and flourishing construction industries the comorbidities among construction workers are also raised. They are exposed to various dust, fumes, noxious gases and vapours making them susceptible to chronic airway diseases like Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease. The aim of the study was to evaluate the respiratory health status of construction workers in an unorganised sector. Materials and Methods . The data collected from National Capital of Delhi region in an unorganised sector of construction workers by using a Saint George Respiratory Questionnaire by the Institute of Occupational Health and Environmental research, Basaidarapur, Delhi, India. All the participant response was noted and the answers were evaluated to see respiratory health status of workers. Total 200 workers were evaluated. Total 182 males and 18 female participated in the study. Results and Discussion . 25% of workers reported poor health at the time of the survey, while only 4% of workers considered their health to be very good. Among the main complaints were indicated: cough, sputum production, shortness of breath, chest infections, attacks of wheezing. The overall mean of Saint George Respiratory Questionnaire core was 33.55. It increases with the working period in the construction field with 21.6% for 10years and 49.1 for 30years experienced workers, while workers with 11 to 20 years of experience, the score was 28.4. The Saint George Respiratory Questionnaire score was 35.1 in 21-30 years of experienced construction workers. Conclusion . As a result of the study, construction workers are found to be at high risk of various respiratory diseases and related disabilities. Participants in this study did not receive any treatment for respiratory problems at any clinic. This means the importance of occupational health education and the use of personal protective equipment and safe working conditions for construction workers.

Abstract:
Nowadays, tuberculosis continue to be one of actual problems of health care. The increasing of effectiveness of modern anti-tuberculosis therapy permitted to decrease mortality of patients with tuberculosis of lungs and to focus attention on problem ofprevention of their disablement. The purpose of study is to carry out comparative analysis of questionnaires for evaluating quality of life ofpatients with tuberculosis of lungs in process of successfully implementing of treatment with the view of selecting questionnaire most completely reflecting occurring alterations. The sampling of 42 patients with tuberculosis of lungs was examined at stage of completion of implemented treatment. All patients were applied spirometry. The following questionnaires were applied to analyze quality of life: SF-36, the Saint George hospital questionnaire (SGRQ) and questionnaire of chronic respiratory diseases (CRQ). The study was carried out twice in process of effective treatment with two months interim. The sensitivity of questionnaires was determined by effect size calculated by formula: [(average value at first examination - average value at second examination)/standard deviation at first examination]. In the process of treatment all patients with tuberculosis of lungs attained significant amelioration of quality of life that was demonstrated in questionnaire of SF-36 by all components besides one that decreased its effectiveness. The size of alterations of quality of life according general value of CRQ was low and amounted to 0.27. The Saint George hospital questionnaire (SGRQ) had maximal sensitivity to positive alterations resulting of applied treatment (effect size 0.39-0.49 for components and 0.47 for total value). Therefore, it was recommended as a tool of evaluation of quality of life in patients with tuberculosis in processes of implementing treatment.

Abstract:
Background: A major problem in developing countries is indoor air pollution and in India a major problem is the lack of awareness. A study says that flour mill workers, on average are exposed to such an environment for 8-10 hrs. a day. This prolongs exposure to flour mill dust and poor ventilation leads to respiratory complications. St. George’s respiratory questionnaire is one of the reliable methods to quantify health status in patients with chronic airflow limitation and also, peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) has been proven to be a useful tool in assessing airway obstruction9 which is common in flour mill workers. Procedure: The 50 flour mill workers was selected for study according to the inclusion and exclu-sion criteria. The PEFR values and St. George Questionnaire was taken and the domains affected were seen. Result: The prevalence of respiratory problems in flour mill workers was 71%. Conclusion: There is a higher prevalence of respirato-ry problems in flour mill workers due to prolonged exposure to flour mill dust and poor ventilation.

Abstract:
Introduction: The six minute walk test (6MWT) is a practical and reliable measure of exercise tolerance that is widely used to assess the functional status of the patients with a variety of cardiac and pulmonary diseases, including heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Objective: To evaluate the reliability validity and responsiveness of the six minute walk test and to measure the minimal clinically important difference (MCID) in South Indian IPF patients. Methods: The study population consisted of 30 patients diagnosed as IPF. Six minute walk test distance and other parameters were measured at baseline and at 18 week interval using a standard protocol. Correlation coefficients were used to evaluate the association between six minute walk distance and measures of dyspnea using Borg Scale rate of perceived exertion and Quality of Life questionnaire using St George Respiratory Questionnaire. The distribution based method was used to quantify the MCID. Results: The relationship between 6MWD with dyspnea and St George Respiratory Questionnaire showed good reliability (coefficient = 0.69 p<0.05). There was strong correlation between increase in 6MWD and decrease in Borg Scale of rate of perceived exertion and also decreased St George Respiratory Questionnaire indicating improvement in quality of life. The calculated MCID was 15 m. The decline in 6MWD indicated the prognosis of the disease. Conclusions: The six minute walk test is a clinically helpful measure of status of the disease and the prognosis in South Indian patients with IPF.

Background: The aim of this study is to explore the efficacy of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) implemented at the Saint George University of Beirut-Faculty of Medicine (SGUB FM) under exceptional circumstances as the triple blow to Beirut. Methods: The Faculty Development, directed towards a cohort of 35 faculty members, is composed of two major components: methodology of teaching and techniques of assessment. The Kirkpatrick’s assessment model, in combination with a specifically designed psychological questionnaire, were chosen to assess the effectiveness of the faculty development initiative. Results: Results of the different questionnaires were interpreted individually, then through the lens of the psychological questionnaire. A majority of faculty (55%) were significantly affected psychologically by Beirut’s triple blow and 77% of all participants found the workshops to be of excellent quality (Kirkpatrick’s Level I). Moreover, Kirkpatrick’s level II results yielded a 76% mean percentage of correct answers to post-workshops MCQs and a significant improvement in the mean results of the self-assessment questionnaires, administered before and after each workshop. Results also show that the more a trainee is psychologically affected, the less he/she performs as evidenced by a decrease in the satisfaction rate as well as in the score of the cognitive MCQs and of the self-assessment questionnaires. Conclusions: This study was able to highlight that significant learning can occur amidst exceptional circumstances like the Beirut triple blow and administration should invest in professional growth to retain its faculty.

Abstract:
The present study was designed to study the effect of supervisors' humor on workplace productivity and employees' creativity. A sample of 300 was collected from different private and public organizations in twin cities via questionnaires. The present study used three questionnaires: the humor climate questionnaire (Cann et al., 2014), the individual work performance questionnaire (Koopmans, 2015), and creativity (Zhou & George, 2001) for data collection. The study shows a significant positive relationship between positive and negative humor and creativity and workplace productivity. This study was based on a Pakistani sample and examines the effect of a supervisor’s humor on workspace productivity and employee creativity. The main focus of this study will be employees from creative and creative departments of different organizations of different age groups. According to the survey, those more prone to cheerful and hostile humor show more creativity and workplace productivity. The study highlights that supervisors' effective humor can enhance workplace morals, promote a positive work environment, and revive creative thinking among the employees. Results also suggest that men have higher levels of creativity, workplace productivity, and cheerful humor than women. Moreover, the study investigated the significant positive relationship between positive and negative humor with creativity and workplace productivity.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to assess health-related quality of life (HRQL) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and to discuss the different tools available for its assessment. The most widely used assessments are the St. George respiratory questionnaire (SGRQ) and the COPD assessment test (CAT) questionnaire. Both have a different difficulty in exam completion, calculation, and scoring. No studies exist that analyze the validity and internal consistency of using both questionnaires on patients admitted to the hospital for a COPD exacerbation. A multicenter, cross-sectional analytic observational study of patients admitted to the hospital due to a COPD exacerbation (CIE 491.2). During their hospital stay, they were administered the SGRQ and the CAT questionnaire within the framework of a therapeutic education program (APRENDEPOC). Descriptive and comparative analysis, correlations between the scales (Pearson’s correlation index), consistency and reliability calculations (Cronbach’s α), and a forward stepwise multiple linear regression were performed, with significant correlations in both questionnaires considered p < 0.01 with the total scores. A statistical significance of p < 0.05 was assumed. Altogether, 231 patients were admitted for a COPD exacerbation ( n = 77) at Hospital Clínic of Barcelona (HCB) and ( n = 154) at Hospital Universitario General of Castellón (HUGC). The sample profile was not homogeneous between both centers, with significant differences in HRQL between hospitals. Correlation were noted between both scales ( p < 0.01), along with high levels of internal consistency and reliability (CAT 0.836 vs. SGRQ 0.827). The HRQL is related to dyspnea, wheezing, daytime drowsiness, and edema, as well as to the need to sleep in a sitting position, anxiety, depression, and dependence on others in the execution of daily activities. Our regression analysis showed that the SGRQ questionnaire could predict more changes in HRQL with a higher number of variables.

This study focuses on attachment theory as the foundation theory in examining the antecedent and outcome of place attachment among local tourists of heritage sites. Data was collected from local tourists who visited heritage sites in Melaka and George Town by using judgemental sampling through questionnaire. A total of 396 respondents completed the questionnaire. Structural equation model was used to analyze data and test the hypothesis. This study reveals new findings whereby cultural motivation positively influences each of the four dimensions of place attachment. However, only place dependence and affective attachments were found positively influencing intention to recommend. Destination managers are encouraged to enhance tourists’ attachment (place dependence and affective attachment) by providing knowledge and information, especially to culturally motivated tourists. Recommendations for future studies are also discussed to overcome the limitations of this study.

Abstract:
Background. Pneumonectomy is one of the most traumatic thoracic surgeries, leading to a significant decrease in the patient’s functional status. Despite numerous questionnaires, there is no standard approach to the study of the quality of life of patients who have undergone radical surgery for lung cancer. The purpose of the study was to conduct a retrospective analysis of the quality of life of patients who underwent pneumonectomy during the period 2017–2018, taking into account the extent of surgery, presence of concomitant disease and adjuvant antitumor treatment.Material and Methods. Changes in the quality of life (qol) during combined modality treatment were evaluated in 40 patients with non-small cell lung cancer. To assess the functional status, the criteria adopted for determining the surgical risk were used. The st. George`s Respiratory Questionnaire (sgrq) and Quality Outcomes study short-Form 36 (sf-36) were used to assess the respiratory system of patients. Data collection was carried out 12 months after surgery using a questionnaire method based on a direct survey of respondents.Conclusion. Postoperative special treatment significantly worsens both the functional parameters of patients and the quality of life. Thus, a multidisciplinary approach to the management of patient with participation of an oncologist, pulmonologist, physiotherapist, and rehabilitologist is required.

Abastract. The objective of this study is to analyze and compare life habits (smoking, alcohol and physical activity) and their effects on respiratory health in a sample of university students. The perception of respiratory symptoms and life habits of university students was carried out through a specific validated respiratory health questionnaire, the Sant George Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ), for the general population with questions related to health-related life quality. The sample consisted of sedentary university students (n = 497) and university students of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Degree (n = 315). Sedentary university students, alcohol users, smokers, ex-smokers, and passive smokers had the highest rates of perceived respiratory symptoms in the SGRQ (p<.05) compared to Sport Science students and students who never consumed alcohol or tobacco. Tobacco and alcohol consumption and physical inactivity are the factors that cause more respiratory symptoms in university students.

Abstract:
Present study was designed to obtain association between sleep apnea with sleep quality and quality of life in COPD patients. This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 139 patients with COPD in a chest clinic of a university hospital. All patients were evaluated by pulmonary function test for determination of severity of their disease. Also, Berlin questionnaire, Epworth sleepiness scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and St. George Respiratory questionnaires (SGRQ) were employed for assessment of patients. Analysis of data showed that quality of sleep was significantly correlated with quality of life (P<0.001). About half of the patients were at high risk for sleep apnea. The patients were divided into two groups according to the result of Berlin questionnaire. Significant differences were found between the groups for total score and each of three subscores of SGRQ suggesting worse quality of life in overlap syndrome (P<0.001). Also, patients with overlap syndrome had worse quality of sleep compared to patients without it (8.1±1.7versus6.2±2.3;P<0.001). Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that severity of COPD, coexisting obstructive sleep apnea, and sleep quality accounted for the SGRQ significantly (r2(coefficient of determination) = 0.08, 0.21, and 0.18, resp.). It is recommended that patient with COPD be evaluated for sleep apnea and sleep disorders during routine examinations and followups.

Abstract:
Introduction Sarcoidosis is a multiorgan, multisystem chronic disease of unknown etiology and unpredictable course. Health status is reduced in sarcoidosis and assessing it is a difficult multitask effort due to many faces this disease might have. Recently, a new questionnaire for assessing health status in sarcoidosis was developed by a group of authors from England–King’s Sarcoidosis Questionnaire (KSQ). The benefit of KSQ is the ability to develop the best care plan for the patient, as well as to differentiate the efficacy of the administered treatment. Objective The aim of this study was to validate the KSQ in Serbian speaking population of sarcoidosis patients. The test itself is a modular, multi-organ health status measure for patients with sarcoidosis for use in clinic and the evaluation of therapies. The correlation of KSQ with different clinical course of sarcoidosis (acute vs chronic disease) and with the clinical outcome status (COS) in sarcoidosis was also investigated. Methods A total of 159 biopsy positive sarcoidosis patients participated in this study. The average age of the participants was 49.67, majority was female (67.3%) and majority had only pulmonary form of sarcoidosis (71.7%). KSQ ‐ new disease-specific health status instrument, was compared with 5 other already existing instruments already used and validated in sarcoidosis (Saint George Respiratory Questionnaire- SGRQ, Daily Activity List -DAL, Fatigue Assessment Scale- FAS, Medical Research Council dyspnea scale–MRC, Borg Dyspnea Scale and 15D as general questionnaire. Results KSQ has significant correlation with other quality of life questionnaires already used in sarcoidosis. Translated version of KSQ shows significant internal reliability, similar to the original KSQ. Serbian version of KSQ has significant correlation with different clinical course of sarcoidosis and with COS as well. The translated version of KSQ is reliable sarcoidosis specific instrument for assessing health status in these patients.

Abstract:
Attachment security is defined as a condition where an individual has a sense of security and is not disturbed by the availability of someone who is considered as an attachment figure (Ainsworth, Blehar, Waters, & Wall in Solomon & George, 2008). Ainsworth classifies the types of attachments into secure attachment and insecure attachment, where insecure attachment is further divided into ambivalent attachment and avoidant attachment (Solomon & George, 2008). This study analyzes data using two main dimensions, namely secure and insecure. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of children’s attachment in today’s digital era seen from the perception of the children. The research data was collected in March 2020 using purposive sampling, which involved 72 participants who filled out the research questionnaire directly with paper-and-pencil tests. Criteria for participants in this study are children in the age range of 9-11 years who, at the time of the study, were elementary school level students. Based on the results of data collection, a percentage of 100% of the total of subjects were gadget users. Based on research data using descriptive techniques, it was found that there were more subjects in the study who showed a tendency to have secure attachment compared to insecure attachment.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTIt is often claimed that France is a particularly purist country; the Académie française is seen to be representative of a purist outlook and popular works such as Étiemble's attack on English influence Parlez vous franglais? (Étiemble, 1964) have served to bolster this view. However, this claim has not been empirically verified. In order to determine whether or not the rhetoric around purism in France matches the reality, we developed a questionnaire to investigate whether or not ordinary speakers of French in France are purist, taking the theoretical framework in George Thomas's Linguistic Purism as a base (Thomas, 1991). This questionnaire was distributed online to a random sample of participants in France. To contextualise the findings, the questionnaire was also distributed to French speakers in Quebec. The results of the study show that, contrary to expectations, the French respondents display only mild purism and the Québécois respondents are more purist in the face of English borrowings (external purism). However, the French respondents are more concerned with the structure or ‘quality’ of the French language itself (internal purism) than their Québécois counterparts. This study also highlights some problems with Thomas's framework, which requires some modification for future research.

Abstract:
This paper aims to focus on the attitude and responses of the stakeholders on the importance of preserving the non-use value of cultural heritage for George Town, Penang World Heritage Site (GPWHS) conservation. This research has examined the possibilities of several attitudes of the stakeholders in explaining the importance of preserving the non-use value for the GPWHS conservation. Pearson’s Correlation and Multiple Linear Regressions were used in predicting the dependent variable using a set of several independent variables. The purpose of the correlation test was to prove whether the correlation between the dimensions of the independent variables has had any influence on the non-use value of cultural heritage for the GPWHS conservation. A face-to-face interviewing technique using the structured CV questionnaire aided by photo images-supported was applied in this survey. The numbers of completed questionnaires were 294 from local residents and 147 from tourists (domestic and foreign) in GTWHS. This paper reveals that there was a relationship between the local stakeholders’ attitude and responses on the importance of preserving the non-use value and the WTP value for the GTWHS conservation.

The significance of COPD and BA is required by a thorough study of the combination of these diseases in one patient. Data on the prevalence of COPD and BA in one patient are different and variable due to differences in the diagnosis of pathologies and deprivation of the "gold standard". The incidence of diseases ranges from 12 to 55% among patients with COPD and 13-61% in asthma. The presence of both pathological conditions leads to various shortcomings in diagnosis and treatment. The increase in the effectiveness of early and differential diagnosis, taking into account the assessment of quality of life using special questionnaires in patients with bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and their combination. 101 patients were examined, of which there were 35 patients with bronchial asthma, 35 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and 31 patients with comorbidity (BA + COPD), as well as 20 healthy volunteers. As the severity of the disease increased, the total scores reflecting the subjective feelings of the patient increased (cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath when climbing stairs, sputum, limited physical activity at home) and showed a deterioration in the quality of life of patients. The study showed that patients with BA + COPD, in comparison with the isolated course of the disease, have reduced quality of life indicators both when assessed by the St. George Hospital questionnaire (P<0.001) and when assessed by the CAT questionnaire

Regarding the widely distribution of respiratory exposure hazards in occupational settings, workers have an increased risk for chronic lung diseases. For assessing the quality of life and lung function in workers exposed to chemicals and dust, St Georges Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) and spirometry were performed among 40 patients, admitted in Occupational Clinic Department of Colentina Hospital, Bucharest, Romania, during February, 2017. SGRQ showed different predictors for patients according to their occupational exposure and total symptoms score correlated better with decreased spirometric parameters in defining lung function deterioration. Quality of life is earlier affected than lung function deterioration and emphasises the need of more sensitive methods for an earlier identification and better evaluation of respiratory hazards in different workplaces.

Abstract:
The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted the closure of educational institutions worldwide. As a result, most educational institutions shifted to online learning platforms to keep up with instructional activities. This study aims to determine how teachers perceive the online teaching and learning context at the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Târgu Mureş (UMPhST), Romania. An online questionnaire was created in Google Forms and sent to the academic staff at the university to evaluate the efficacy, drawbacks, and benefits of online education. A total of 139 faculty members from different departments completed the questionnaire thoroughly. According to the findings, more than half of those questioned agreed that online teaching is essential during pandemic times, but it is not a long-term solution. The difficulty of engaging students in practical activities, the lack of feedback, and the difficulty in fulfilling online assignments are just some of the challenges that were brought about. Furthermore, the survey identifies the traits of online courses the respondents preferred and additional challenges they encountered throughout this demanding time.

Bioethics and public policy literature suggests that socially marginalized populations may be at increased risk for overuse of physician-assisted suicide (PAS) were it to become more accepted. Yet the attitudes of socially marginalized populations toward PAS have not been widely studied. The present study surveyed a sample of men in a substance abuse recovery program. Participants completed a PAS attitude questionnaire and a religiosity measure. Support for PAS was fairly evenly split, with 52.2% indicating general opposition to PAS and 46.9% indicating general support. Greater religiosity was associated with more negative attitudes toward PAS. Higher educational level was associated with more acceptance. Overall attitudes toward PAS were considerably more negative than those of Dr. George Domino's (2003) general population sample.

Abstract:
We analyze the lung function using advanced measurement (body plethysmography) and standard measurement (spirometry) in stable COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) patients. Subjects and methods: 211 patients with stable COPD (88.6% males) age 615 years (mean standard deviation), exsmokers 78.7%, underwent to: body pletysmography , spirometry, electrocardiography. Parameters obtained: residual volume (RV), forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), were correlated with different parameters and also for prediction of quality of life in COPD patients. In assessing the quality of life we used the St. Georges Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ). According to BMI (body mass index) we classify patients in four groups: 1. underweight ([ 20, n = 34), 2. normal weight (20-24, n = 79), 3. overweight (25-29.9, n = 58), 4. obese ( ]30, n = 40), n = number of patients.
