This thesis inquires the existing methods on the field of image recognition with regards to gesture recognition. Some methods have been chosen for deeper study and these are to be discussed later on. The second part goes in for the concenpt of an algorithm that would be able of robust gesture recognition based on data acquired within the AMI and M4 projects. A new ways to achieve precise information on participants position are suggested along with dynamic data processing approaches toward recognition. As an alternative, recognition using Gaussian Mixture Models and periodicity analysis are brought in. The gesture class in focus are speech supporting gestures. The last part demonstrates the results and discusses future work.

Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) catalyzes the reduction of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, a substrate for remethylation of homocysteine to methionine. Methionine is then converted to S-adenosylmethionine (SAM), the universal methyl donor. In the mouse, MTHFR levels are highest in the testis and mice deficient for a targeted mutation in the Mthfr gene are infertile. Analysis of prenatal gonocyte development provided evidence that the defect in the Mthfr mouse testis occurs shortly after birth. The expression profiles at the mRNA and protein levels suggest that Mthfr is expressed in the male germ line and is developmentally regulated, with a possible role in meiosis. Testicular phenotype was further characterized by altering the expression of this enzyme in an Mthfr folate deficiency animal model. While postnatal folate deficiency appears not to have adverse effects on spermatogenesis, it results in significantly reduced sperm numbers in males from the developmental study, regardless of their Mthfr genotype.

Previous issue date: 2014-08-19<br>In the last decade the complexity of the environment in which organizations are embedded increased dramatically, having on one side the increasingly demanding consumers in regard to the quality and value of the product and the other companies with the need to reduce operating costs in order to achieve greater profitability, without this there is a downturn in growth or market share powers. In this context the necessity of effectively structuring actions relating to the line with the operational work processes so that business objectives are achieved organizational strategic planning, ensuring the competitiveness of the organization. This study aims to analyze how you have made the management of the supply chain in a grocery retailer in the light of guidelines of Supply Chain Management by using the SCOR model. For realization of this study a survey was needed, classified according to their goals, exploratory and descriptive as to its procedure, document, field and case study. Thus, the processing of data will be qualitative merit, using the thematic categorical analysis of Bardin (1977). Thus, to obtain data interviews together the operational and strategic management of a company that was named Supermarket Omega were performed. After analyzing the information obtained is perceived that there is an effort of the organization enhance its management of the supply chain. However, there is a lack of alignment between the various areas that compose it. About their work processes, we stress that the focus of the company is still very directed on sailing than profitability, although it is undergoing a transformation in its organizational culture However, records the existence of many improvement projects in developing. Thus, it can be noticed that there is some consistency between the assumptions of the SCOR model and applied within the supply chain Omega Supermarket, although a greater effort to better align with the model still needs to be studied<br>Na ?ltima d?cada a complexidade do ambiente no qual as organiza??es est?o inseridas aumentou dramaticamente, tendo de um lado os consumidores cada vez mais exigentes no que se refere ? qualidade e valor agregado do produto e do outro as empresas com a necessidade de reduzir seus custos operacionais a fim de obter maior lucratividade, sem que para isso haja uma retra??o no seu crescimento ou na sua fatia de mercado que lhe compete. Nesse contexto surge a necessidade da estrutura??o eficaz das a??es referentes ao planejamento estrat?gico organizacional alinhado com os processos de trabalho operacionais a fim de que os objetivos empresariais sejam alcan?ados, garantindo a competitividade da organiza??o. Assim, este trabalho tem o intuito de analisar como ? realizada a gest?o da cadeia de suprimentos em um supermercado varejista ? luz das diretrizes da Supply Chain Management atrav?s da utiliza??o do modelo SCOR. Previous issue date: 2006-10-16<br>Due to great instability and high competition in the current business environment, organizations are faced with the need to constantly implement changes in order to either be on the top or keep competitiveness. Thus, projects are needed. These projects, which have a clear and well-defined beginning and end, and aim to obtain either a product or a service, end up featuring distinctive characteristics from the functional management. This explains why project management, which appeared in the 50 s, has grown so much and reached such a degree of importance nowadays. Another factor of competitiveness is information that can really make a difference if well managed. This is when the role of the Information Management arises: it shows how to obtain quality information, how to treat it (interpreting, contextualizing and adding value to it), and how to store it properly so that it can be easily retrieved whenever needed. Also, when talking about information management, the development of an organizational knowledge base is relevant. This base consists of recorded knowledge that should be made available for use. The objective of this study is to propose a model of information management in such a way that it leads to an organizational learning in project management. This research is a theoretical study that emphasizes the interface between the Information Science and the Administration field that deals with projects. It has reached the conclusion that an adequate information management applied to project management may favor the organizational learning and, consequently, form a substantial knowledge base.<br>O ambiente atual, caracterizado por grande instabilidade e altamente competitivo, tem obrigado as organiza??es a constantemente implementarem mudan?as com o objetivo de se destacarem ou se manterem competitivas. E ? para a implanta??o dessas mudan?as que as organiza??es precisam dos projetos. Estes empreendimentos com in?cio e fim definidos e com objetivo de obter um produto ou servi?o, apresenta algumas caracter?sticas diferenciadas da gest?o funcional. Por este motivo a gest?o de projetos despontou na d?cada de 1950 para vir num crescendo, at? atingir o est?gio evolutivo atual. Outro fator de competitividade nas organiza??es ? a informa??o. Este insumo quando bem gerido pode se constituir num diferencial. A? ? que surge o papel da gest?o da informa??o na obten??o de informa??es de qualidade, no seu tratamento (interpreta??o, contextualiza??o e agrega??o de valor), no seu armazenamento adequado para f?cil recupera??o e na sua disponibiliza??o no momento necess?rio. Outro aspecto importante na gest?o da informa??o ? a forma??o de uma base de conhecimentos organizacional, constitu?da pela aprendizagem organizacional. Esta base, composta por conhecimentos registrados, deve ficar dispon?vel para uso. O objetivo deste estudo ? o de propor um modelo de gest?o da informa??o de modo a se obter a aprendizagem organizacional em projetos. A quest?o de pesquisa que deu origem a este trabalho ?: Qual o modelo de gest?o escolar de uma escola de qualidade? O objetivo geral da tese foi o de identificar qual o sistema de gest?o escolar de institui??es que obt?m bons resultados na aprendizagem dos alunos. Al?m disso, teve como objetivos espec?ficos discutir o que efetivamente se entende por gest?o escolar e qualidade do ensino, bem como aplicar os crit?rios de excel?ncia da Funda??o Nacional da Qualidade para avaliar o sistema de gest?o das escolas. Os referenciais utilizados d?o uma id?ia do que se pensa em termos de administra??o, gest?o, gest?o escolar, qualidade, qualidade na educa??o, al?m de discutir o modelo de gest?o preconizado pela Funda??o Nacional da Qualidade. A metodologia de pesquisa utilizada foi de modo qualitativo, com estudo de caso m?ltiplo. Foram pesquisadas quatro escolas de ensino fundamental e m?dio da Coreia do Sul, pa?s que t?m obtido excelentes resultados com seus alunos em testes internacionais como o PISA, por exemplo. Tamb?m foram pesquisadas quatro escolas de ensino fundamental e m?dio do Brasil que tiveram as melhores notas no IDEB e ENEM do ano de 2009, no Rio Grande do Sul. Preserving viability of frozen gametes and reproductive tissues is crucial to understand and overcome species-specificities in respect to the diversity in cryobiological properties and requirements among cell types and tissues. The use of different animal models to study ovarian tissue cryopreservation will help to uncover several important factors related to germ cells preservation. Horses (Equus ferus caballus) have been proven to be an excellent model for reproductive biology studies with implications for humans. White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) are one of the most abundant wild species in the United States, but little information about their reproductive features are known. Therefore, five studies were conducted in this Dissertation with the following general objectives: (i) to develop ovarian tissue cryopreservation techniques for horses and white-tailed deer species; and (ii) to determine the effects of ovarian tissue cryopreservation techniques on morphological and molecular mechanisms related to folliculogenesis in horse and white-tailed deer species. In study one, equine ovarian tissue was used to determine the ideal ovarian fragment size for better cooling resistance under storage at 4°C. In study two, equine ovarian tissues were used to determine the toxicity effect of cryoprotective agents on ovarian tissue pre- and post-cryopreservation. In study three, equine ovarian tissues were used to compare slow-freezing versus vitrification; and to determine the best cryoprotective agents for each cryopreservation method. In study four, white-tailed deer reproductive tracts were used to characterize the age effect on reproductive features. In study five, white-tailed deer ovarian tissue was used to compare slow-freezing versus vitrification methods to preserve preantral follicles under in vitro culture. The main findings of the horse studies were: (i) equine ovarian tissue can be stored at 4°C for up to 24 h when biopsy ovarian fragments are used; (ii) ethylene glycol seems to be a less harmful cryoprotectant agent to equine preantral follicles; and (iii) both slow-freezing and vitrification methods similarly preserved the follicle morphology after time of culture. The main findings of the white-tailed deer studies were: (i) aging caused quantitative and qualitative effects on the ovarian reserve of white-tailed deer; (ii) fresh ovarian tissue can be cultured for up to seven days preserving the tissue integrity; and (iii) fragments cryopreserved by vitrification had higher follicle viability during in vitro culture than by the slow-freezing method. In conclusion, this work demonstrated the viability to cryopreserve equine and white-tailed deer ovarian tissue. Furthermore, the frozen-thawed equine and white-tailed deer ovarian tissue can be cultured for up to seven days.

Previous issue date: 2005-02-28<br>This application case consists in a revision and presentation of management persons model by competencies, that takes in consideration the analysis of national, north Americans and European authors and have a verification of an practice in a knew international company, the ?IBM BRASIL?. Was development a research with a specific sector in the company, where we received 22 answers of an interview that cover specifics points of view for the model implementation, as: difficulty of the evaluation of critic competencies for better professional development; benefits of the model implementation; competencies that where eminence as the major point for a specific area; training adjust for the development objectives; advantages and disadvantages of competencies model tools. The resource management area also was analyzed where we interview the responsible for the implementation of the process and for the results evaluation. The results indicate that the company succeed in the model implementation for the professional development area, but the model didn?t get the level of maturity suggested and expected by the studiers, and needs the of the strategic and financial managers of the company. Verify also that the employees support the model principal because of the investment in training and capacity that it applies, and point fails related by studies that the company has to get worry to have success in the future<br>Esse estudo de caso consiste em uma revis?o e apresenta??o do modelo de gest?o de pessoas por compet?ncias, o qual leva em considera??o os estudos de autores nacionais e norte americanos, e de uma verifica??o de pratica do modelo em uma multinacional conhecida, a ?IBM BRASIL?. Foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa com uma ?rea especifica da empresa a qual o modelo de gest?o foi apresentado, onde obteve-se resposta de 22 funcion?rios para uma entrevista que cobriu aspectos espec?ficos da implementa??o do modelo, como: Dificuldade de avalia??o das compet?ncias cr?ticas para melhor desempenho profissional; Benef?cios da implementa??o do modelo de gest?o; Compet?ncias destacadas como de maior peso para atividade especifica a que a ?rea se prop?e; Adequa??o do treinamento aos objetivos de desenvolvimento; e Vantagens e desvantagens da utiliza??o das ferramentas disponibilizadas pela empresa para implementa??o do modelo. Tamb?m foi analisada a ?rea de recursos humanos da IBM Brasil onde entrevistou-se os respons?veis pela implementa??o do processo e pela avalia??o dos resultados. need for studies on management of airports, to aid the process of decision making.
In Brazil, growth in passenger demand is why investments in order to balance the
capacity of an airport with air demand. Thus, the study aims to develop a model for
Dynamic Systems able to assist airport management in Brazilian sizing subsystems
an airport (Passenger Terminal, Runway and Patio). The methodology of this work
consists in the steps of defining the problem, formulating the hypothesis dynamic
building simulation model, and validation experiments. Finally, we examined the
status of each subsystem in thirteen Brazilian airports in scenarios current, most

da realiza??o de estudos sobre gerenciamento de aeroportos, visando auxiliar o processo
de tomada de decis?es. No Brasil, o crescimento da demanda de passageiros ? motivo

Previous issue date: 2015-11-26<br>O presente estudo, baseado no modelo te?rico de portf?lio de compras proposto por Kraljic (1983), apresenta um modelo de portf?lio de compras voltado para gest?o de compras hospitalares, por meio da aplica??o do m?todo de decis?o multicrit?rio Fuzzy-TOPSIS. Para fins de exemplifica??o do m?todo, a pesquisa foi aplicada em um Hospital de grande porte localizado em Natal/RN e teve como amostra doze itens de compras. Os itens foram avaliados pelo grupo de decisores nas dimens?es de import?ncia da compra e complexidade de fornecimento, sendo cada dimens?o composta por quatro crit?rios. Por meio da utiliza??o do m?todo Fuzzy-TOPSIS e de regras de decis?o, os itens foram classificados entre as categorias: estrat?gicos, gargalos, alavancagem e n?o-cr?ticos. O resultado dessa etapa identificou tr?s itens estrat?gicos, seis itens gargalos, um item de alavancagem e dois itens n?o-cr?ticos. Para os tr?s itens classificados como estrat?gicos, foi aplicado o m?todo Fuzzy-TOPSIS visando a identificar o posicionamento estrat?gico do Hospital em rela??o aos fornecedores desses itens, a partir da avalia??o das dimens?es for?a do mercado fornecedor e for?a da empresa compradora, sendo cada uma composta por quatro crit?rios. Nessa etapa, foi identificada uma postura de balanceamento das for?as. Conclui-se a efetividade da ferramenta de portf?lio de compras para gest?o hospitalar, proporcionando uma vis?o mais clara das caracter?sticas, inerentes ao processo de compras nesse contexto complexo. O m?todo Fuzzy-TOPSIS apresentou-se como uma ferramenta flex?vel, capaz de lidar com problemas de classifica??o, gerando resultados satisfat?rios e contribuindo para a tomada de decis?o.

Previous issue date: 2016-07-25<br>Through simultaneous equations and based on the Value Relevance Literature, this study discusses the relevance of BNDES loans to explain the stock prices of companies listed in BOVESPA. The simultaneous equations model allows exogenous variations on the credit offer by BNDES. Such variations permit the identification of the model that defines stock prices as function of BNDES loans as well as control variables. Results found do not confirm that the presence of BNDEs loans is significant to explain stock prices.<br>Por meio de equações simultâneas e respaldado pela literatura de Value Relevance, este estudo discute a relevância do financiamento BNDES para explicar preço da ação de empresas listadas na BOVESPA. O modelo de equações simultâneas permite variações exógenas sobre a oferta de crédito do BNDES. Tais variações viabilizam a identificação do modelo que define o preço da ação em função do financiamento BNDES e demais variáveis controle. Os resultados encontrados não permitem afirmar que a presença de financiamento BNDES é significante para explicar o preço da ação.

In this sense, this research has as objective to develop a proposal of a model from the theoretical construct that integrates knowledge management to process management. The methodology considered for its purpose is applied and the medium is classified as a bibliographical review. It reports on knowledge management, business process management, and models used in the literature for business process modeling. A model for process
management (GPC) that integrates knowledge management is developed. The highlight of the GPC model in relation to respondents is that it integrates knowledge management as an intrinsic factor of the proposal in order to assist the management of organizational routines that are present in the business processes. Through the elaboration of the GPC model, it is concluded that knowledge management in the management of organizational routines is extremely important in the conduct of process management.

Previous issue date: 2014-01-13<br>The pressure for a new pattern of sustainable development began to require of modern
organizations the conciliation between competitiveness and a environmental protection. In
this sense, a tool that acts in the implementation of structured strategies is the Environmental
Management System (EMS), which focuses on improving environmental performance. This
improvement, in turn, can generate to the organizations many benefits , among which,
obtaining competitive advantages, susceptible of measurement from different perspectives.
One of these is the application of VRIO model, reasoned by the Resource-Based View
(RBV), which considers that differences between companies occurs due to differences
between its internal resources and capabilities. However, although was been found some
studies in the literature that evaluate the competitive potential of certain organizations , such
assessments are not performed on specific objects, like the SEM s. Thus, the aim of this study
was to evaluate the resources and capabilities (environmental strategies) adopted by the SGA
of the Verdegreen Hotel, identifying which of these have the potential to generate competitive
advantage. For this, this exploratory-descriptive character study and delineated as field
research and case study was used as data collection tools: a literature survey, semi-structured
interviews, document research and participant observation. The interpretation of results and
consolidation of information were conducted from a qualitative approach, using two
techniques of data analysis, namely: content analysis and analysis through VRIO model. The
results show that the hotel is quite structured in relation to their EMS, as well as reaching
related to improving the management of environmental factors, strengthening the image and
gains in competitiveness benefits. On the other hand, the main difficulties for the
implementation of the system are related to employees and suppliers. With regard to
environmental strategies adopted, of the 25 strategies identified, 10 showed the potential to
generate competitive advantage<br>A press?o por um novo padr?o de desenvolvimento sustent?vel passou a exigir das
organiza??es modernas que seja conciliada competitividade com a prote??o ambiental. Neste
sentido, uma ferramenta que atua na implanta??o de estrat?gias estruturadas ? o Sistema de
Gest?o Ambiental (SGA), que tem como foco a melhoria do desempenho ambiental. Esta
melhoria, por sua vez, pode proporcionar ?s organiza??es diversos benef?cios, dentre os quais,
a obten??o de vantagens competitivas, pass?veis de mensura??o a partir de diferentes
perspectivas. Uma dessas ? a aplica??o do modelo VRIO, fundamentado pela Resource-Based

modo, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar os recursos e capacidades (estrat?gias ambientais) do
SGA adotado pelo Verdegreen Hotel, identificando quais destes possuem potencial de gerar
vantagem competitiva. Para tanto, este estudo de car?ter explorat?rio-descritivo e delineado
como pesquisa de campo e estudo de caso, utilizou como ferramentas de coleta de dados: a
pesquisa bibliogr?fica, a entrevista semiestruturada, a pesquisa documental e a observa??o
participante. A interpreta??o dos resultados e a consolida??o das informa??es foram
realizadas a partir de uma abordagem qualitativa, utilizando duas t?cnicas de an?lise de dados,
quais sejam: an?lise de conte?do e an?lise por meio do modelo VRIO. Os resultados
encontrados mostram que o hotel est? bastante estruturado em rela??o ao seu SGA, fato este
que pode ser justificado pela certifica??o ambiental obtida, assim como alcan?ou benef?cios
relacionados ? melhoria da gest?o dos fatores ambientais, ao fortalecimento da imagem e
ganhos em competitividade. Por outro lado, as principais dificuldades para a implanta??o do
sistema est?o relacionadas aos colaboradores e fornecedores. No que se refere ?s estrat?gias

Moreover, Product Development Process (PDP) is one of the activities in which knowledge management manifests in the most critical form once it had the intense application of the knowledge. As a consequence, this thesis analyzes the knowledge management aiming to improve the PDP and it also proposes a theoretical model of knowledge management. This model uses five steps (creation, maintenance, dissemination, utilization and discard) through the verification of the occurrence of four types of knowledge conversion (socialization, externalization, combination and internalization) that it will improve the knowledge management in this process. The intellectual capital in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) managed efficiently and with the participation of all employees has become the mechanism of the creation and transference processes of knowledge, supporting and, consequently, improving the PDP. The expected results are an effective and efficient application of the proposed model for the creation of the knowledge base within an organization (organizational memory) aiming a better performance of the PDP. In this way, it was carried out an extensive analysis of the knowledge management
(instrument of qualitative and subjective evaluation) within the Design department of a Brazilian company (SEBRAE/RN). This analysis aimed to know the state-of-the-art of the Design department regarding the use of knowledge management. This step was important in order to evaluate in the level of the evolution of the department related to the practical use of knowledge management before implementing the proposed theoretical model and its methodology. At the end of this work, based on the results of the diagnosis, a knowledge management system is suggested to facilitate the knowledge sharing within the organization, in order words, the Design department<br>A gest?o do conhecimento tem recebido grande aten??o dos profissionais que atuam no Processo de Desenvolvimento de Produtos (PDP), pois muitas das atividades deste processo t?m um car?ter criativo e, portanto, dependem fundamentalmente do conhecimento das pessoas que o realizam. Al?m disso, o PDP ? um dos processos onde a necessidade da gest?o do conhecimento se manifesta de forma mais cr?tica devido a intensa aplica??o do conhecimento. Assim, esta disserta??o analisa a gest?o do conhecimento com o objetivo da melhoria do PDP e prop?e um modelo te?rico de gest?o do conhecimento. Diante da grande quantidade de recomenda??es expedidas pelo Tribunal de Contas da
Uni?o (TCU) a diversas Institui??es Federais de Ensino Superior (IFES) nessa ?rea,
prop?e-se um modelo de gest?o de riscos para a Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do
Norte (UFRN). Trata-se de um estudo aplicado, explorat?rio e qualitativo. No que se refere
aos procedimentos t?cnicos, a pesquisa se caracteriza como an?lise documental,
bibliogr?fica, pesquisa-a??o e estudo de caso. A pesquisa bibliogr?fica foi utilizada para
subsidiar a elabora??o do Guia de Gest?o de Riscos em Institui??es Federais de Ensino
Superior (GERIFES). J? a an?lise documental foi empregada com o objetivo de conhecer a
estrutura organizacional e os macroprocessos da universidade. O autor ? lotado na unidade
de Auditoria Interna da UFRN e compartilha do mesmo problema, caracterizando assim a
pesquisa-a??o. O estudo de caso auxiliou tanto na elabora??o do guia, quanto na simula??o
de funcionalidade espec?fica para o seu sistema de informa??o, demonstrada por meio do
Manual de Utiliza??o do M?dulo ?Gest?o de Riscos? proposto para o Sistema Integrado de
Patrim?nio, Administra??o e Contratos (SIPAC). Este manual foi elaborado com o
objetivo de facilitar a utiliza??o dessa ferramenta, caso ela venha a ser incorporada ao

mais variados eventos que podem influenciar no alcance dos objetivos institucionais.<br>Organizations are susceptible to the occurrence of many events that may affect the
achievement of their objectives. As a result, Brazilian Public Administration supervisory
bodies have required institutions to adopt risk management policies. Given the large
number of recommendations issued by Federal Audit Court (TCU) to various Federal
Institutions of Higher Education (IFES) in this area, it is proposed a risk management
model for Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). This is an applied,
exploratory and qualitative study. Regarding to technical procedures, it is characterized as
documentary analysis, bibliographical research, case study and action research. The
bibliographical research was used to support the elaboration of the Risk Management
Guide for Federal Institutions of Higher Education (GERIFES). The documentary analysis,
in turn, was used with the aim of knowing the organizational structure and the university?s
macroprocesses. The author works in the university internal auditing department and
shares the same problem. This characterizes the work as an action research. The case study
supported both the elaboration of the guide and the simulation of the specific functionality
for the university information system, demonstrated through the User Manual Module
"Risk Management" proposed for the Integrated System of Property, Administration and
Contracts (SIPAC). This manual has been prepared in order to facilitate the use of this tool
if it will be incorporated into the university information system. As research results, a risk
management model for UFRN was elaborated and a simulation of an informational tool,
which is able to manage risks related to events that may affect the achievement of
institutional objectives, was provided to the university administration.

praticados em larga escala na ind?stria e objeto de grande interesse cient?fico pela
comunidade acad?mica. Apesar de qualidades reconhecidas pelos praticantes e
pela academia, existem alguns pontos de fraqueza em que os M?todos ?geis
poderiam se beneficiar de solu??es mais conservadoras, importadas dos m?todos
tradicionais. Como, por exemplo, situa??es em que ocorre a perda da mem?ria
coletiva devido ? alta rotatividade de pessoal, ou a mudan?a do desenvolvimento de
onshore para offshore. Uma destas solu??es que pode trazer muitos benef?cios para
os processos ?geis de desenvolvimento ? o emprego de Rastreabilidade para apoiar
a gest?o de projetos. O objetivo deste trabalho ? apresentar um modelo de refer?ncia de rastreabilidade
no ?mbito de gest?o de projetos em M?todos ?geis e mostrar como aplic?-lo em um
contexto real. Para construir este modelo foi feita uma revis?o da literatura, na qual
foram buscadas entidades de refer?ncia que representam conceitos, necessidades
de informa??o, reconhecidos pela comunidade cient?fica como importantes para o
rastreamento de requisitos, al?m daqueles relacionados a projetos ?geis. Estes
conceitos foram empregados na an?lise dos dados de projetos de software de uma
grande corpora??o, para identificar problemas tais como: falta de testes;
inconsist?ncias na instancia??o dos processos; defici?ncias na gest?o dos projetos
e; incoer?ncias entre as Hist?rias de Usu?rio e seus detalhamentos.<br>Agile methods have become a predominant form of development, being practiced on
a large scale in the industry and object of great scientific interest in the academic
community. Despite its many qualities recognized by practitioners and the academia,
there are some points of weakness on what Agile Methods could benefit from more
conservative solutions, imported from the traditional methods, for example, situations
in which there is loss of collective memory due to high staff turnover, or changing the
development of onshore to offshore. One of these solutions that can bring many
benefits to the agile development process is the use of traceability to support project
management in Agile Methods. The aim of this paper is to present a traceability reference model for Agile methods
project management scope and show how to apply it in a real context. To build this
model a literature review was conducted, in which reference entities were sought
representing concepts, information needs, recognized by the scientific community as
important for traceability requirements in addition to those related to Agile projects.
These concepts were used in the construction of a traceability reference model
whose usefulness was evaluated in the extraction of software project management
information of a large corporation. Used to identify problems such as lack of testing;
inconsistencies in the instantiation of processes; deficiencies in the management of
projects and; inconsistencies between the User Stories and his detailing.

These faults can cause financial losses and even loss of life. Therefore, we propose in this paper the minimization of faults in software by using formally specified tests. The combination of testing and formal specifications is gaining strength in searches mainly through the MBT (Model-Based Testing). The development of software from formal specifications, when the whole process of refinement is done rigorously, ensures that what is specified in the application will be implemented. Thus, the implementation
generated from these specifications would accurately depict what was specified. But not always the specification is refined to the level of implementation and code generation, and in these cases the tests generated from the specification tend to find fault. Additionally, the generation of so-called "invalid tests", ie tests that exercise the application scenarios that were not addressed in the specification, complements more
significantly the formal development process. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for generating tests from B formal specifications. This method was structured in pseudo-code. The method is based on the systematization of the techniques of black box testing of boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, as well as the technique of orthogonal pairs. The method was applied to a B specification and B test machines that generate test cases independent of implementation
language were generated. Aiming to validate the method, test cases were transformed manually in JUnit test cases and the application, created from the B specification and developed in Java, was tested. O desenvolvimento de software a partir de especifica??es formais, quando todo o processo de refinamento ? feito rigorosamente, garante que o que est? especificado ser? implementado na aplica??o. Sendo assim, a implementa??o gerada a partir destas especifica??es iria retratar fielmente o que estaria especificado. Mas nem sempre a especifica??o ? refinada at? o n?vel de implementa??o e gera??o de c?digo, e nesses casos os testes gerados a partir da especifica??o tendem a encontrar falhas. For demonstration purposes there is also described implementation of a simple photo viewer that uses developed gesture-based computer interface. The work also focuses on quality testing and accuracy evaluation for selected gesture recognizer.

Previous issue date: 2005-07-18<br>The continuously growing volume of resources invested in technology and, mainly, on ERP calls management software, has brought companies towards a step of making decisions in order to evaluate the results and benefits that are targeted and expected with the deployment of such solutions. With such objective, improvements on processes for measuring and evaluating the investments made to the implementation of these systems have been growing, most of the times influenced by the demands of managers and stockholders. In order to have the decision-making processes better performed the use of financial and economic managerial methods are part of the distinct solutions eligible. This paper has the main goal of collaborating in this sense and, by applying an economic standpoint, most precisely focusing the concepts of the economic management of assets, in order to bring a fruitful contribution to turn these companies able to obtain reliable information for making decisions, during the whole process, related to investments on ERP management software. Another objective of this project is to evaluate how the companies that utilize ERP systems assess the benefits and required investments for deploying the system, and this assessment is made through an empiric research, based on other researches, equally important, performed in the USA during 2002. The research has the objective of raising three points of major relevance, these being related to the demands that currently arise in the companies regarding these same investments - which decision-making groups are part of the approval processes of ERP systems' investments and which are the technicalities utilized by the companies to evaluate the return of investments (ROI) of such systems. The method utilized to perform this job was accomplished through an empiric and bibliographic research, which has allowed the theoretic fundamentals of the collected data, and the sampling of an example utilizing the financial management of fixed assets as a way of evaluating the investment options. Through the answers obtained with this research, as well as from the example, it was possible to verify that the companies, in general, although they use some evaluation methods, are not feeling comfortable with the results obtained, neither with the evaluation methods, which vary from company to company. There is also a certain fear regarding the information provided by the companies that provide ERP software related to the ROI amount that is calculated; that all exemplifies that there is still a wide field of action to be improved in terms of investments evaluation and ERP systems' maintenance.<br>O crescente volume de recursos investidos em tecnologia e, principalmente, em software de gest??o chamado ERP, tem feito com que as empresas passem a tomar a????es no sentido de avaliar os resultados e benef??cios pretendidos e esperados com essas solu????es. Com esse objetivo, a melhoria nos processos de mensura????o e avalia????o de investimentos desses sistemas tem crescido muitas vezes influenciadas pelas exig??ncias dos gestores e acionistas. O m??todo utilizado para a realiza????o do trabalho foi atrav??s de uma pesquisa emp??rica e bibliogr??fica, que possibilitou a fundamenta????o te??rica dos dados colhidos, e a exposi????o de um exemplo com a utiliza????o da gest??o econ??mica de ativos fixos como forma de avalia????o das op????es de investimento. Atrav??s das respostas obtidas com a pesquisa bem como do exemplo, foi poss??vel verificar que as empresas de uma forma geral apesar de utilizarem m??todos de avalia????o, n??o se sentem confort??veis com os resultados obtidos, bem como os m??todos utilizados que variam de empresa para empresa. Existe um receio com rela????o ??s informa????es fornecidas pelas empresas fornecedoras de software de gest??o ERP, com rela????o aos retornos de investimento calculados pelas mesmas, isto tudo, demonstra que ainda se tem um campo grande a ser melhorado em termos de avalia????o de investimentos e manuten????o de sistemas ERP.

Previous issue date: 2003-12-16<br>The proposal of an information management model is characterized as a capable way of supporting and directing the enterprise management system. For the study of this subject, it was chosen a sector of the Brazilian economy that was out of the patterns of the new products and businesses enterprises, classified as dot.com and, at the same time globalized, with high fluctuation of prices and demand, requiring integrated information. According to this, it is important to consider that the way of sustaining the basic columns of enterprise management, named statistical, economical and behavioral, needs supporting of the information management. In this way, some information models have been developed, according to the management techniques, to make possible a dynamic process for the maximization of the performance indicators of the organization. Nevertheless, in these models, it is considered that the communication of information is closely related to the individual performance and, therefore, related to the human subjectivity. Thus, the relationship between the information management and the segments of enterprise management systems, aligned with the strategy of the undertaking, incite competitive differential, assuring the increasingly improvement of the organization process.<br>A proposta de um modelo de gest?o da informa??o caracteriza-se como um meio capaz de sustentar e direcionar o sistema de gest?o empresarial. Para o estudo deste assunto, escolheu-se um setor da economia brasileira que estivesse fora dos padr?es das empresas de novos neg?cios e produtos, categorizados como dot.com, mas que, ao mesmo tempo, estivesse globalizado, com alta volatilidade de pre?os e demanda, por conseguinte, requerente de informa??es integradas. Diante disso, urge considerar que a forma de sustenta??o dos pilares b?sicos da gest?o empresarial, denominados como estat?sticos, econ?micos e comportamentais, necessita do apoio da gest?o da informa??o. Neste sentido, foram desenvolvidos alguns modelos informacionais que, em conformidade com as t?cnicas de gest?o, venham possibilitar um processo din?mico de maximiza??o dos indicadores de desempenho da organiza??o. Todavia, nestes modelos, considera-se que a comunica??o da informa??o est? condicionada ? atua??o de cada indiv?duo, portanto, associada ? subjetividade humana. mandatory to develop a 3D digital imaging of the external and internal geometry of the analogue
outcrops from reservoirs and to build a Virtual Outcrop Model (VOM). The imaging process of
the external geometry was acquired by using the Laser Scanner, the Geodesic GPS and the
Total Station procedures. On the other hand, the imaging of the internal geometry was
evaluated by GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar).The produced VOMs were adapted with much
more detailed data with addition of the geological data and the gamma ray and permeability
profiles. As a model for the use of the methodological procedures used on this work, the
adapted VOM, two outcrops, located at the east part of the Parnaiba Basin, were selected. On
the first one, rocks from the aeolian deposit of the Piaui Formation (Neo-carboniferous) and tidal
flat deposits from the Pedra de Fogo Formation (Permian), which arises in a large outcrops
located between Floriano and Teresina (Piau?), are present. The second area, located at the
National Park of Sete Cidades, also at the Piau?, presents rocks from the Cabe?as Formation
deposited in fluvial-deltaic systems during the Late Devonian. From the data of the adapted
VOMs it was possible to identify lines, surfaces and 3D geometry, and therefore, quantify the
geometry of interest. Among the found parameterization values, a table containing the thickness
and width, obtained in canal and lobes deposits at the outcrop Pared?o and Biblioteca were the
more relevant ones. In fact, this table can be used as an input for stochastic simulation of
reservoirs. An example of the direct use of such table and their predicted radargrams was the
identification of the bounding surface at the aeolian sites from the Piau? Formation. In spite of
such radargrams supply only bi-dimensional data, the acquired lines followed of a mesh profile
were used to add a third dimension to the imaging of the internal geometry. This phenomenon
appears to be valid for all studied outcrops. As a conclusion, the tool here presented can
became a new methodology in which the advantages of the digital imaging acquired from the
Laser Scanner (precision, accuracy and speed of acquisition) were combined with the Total
Station procedure (precision) using the classical digital photomosaic technique<br>Neste trabalho s?o apresentados os procedimentos metodol?gicos necess?rios para

reservat?rios, e elaborar seus Modelos Virtuais de Afloramentos (MVA). Para imagear a

enquanto que para imagear a geometria interna foi utilizado o GPR. Nos MVA elaborados
foram acrescidas ainda as informa??es geol?gicas e as obtidas nas perfilagens com raios
gama e de permeabilidade. Como estudo de caso, para exemplificar os procedimentos
metodol?gicos propostos, foram escolhidos dois conjuntos de afloramentos na borda leste da
Bacia do Parna?ba. Na primeira ?rea ocorrem rochas de origem e?lica da Forma??o Piau?
(Neocarbon?fero) e plan?cie de mar? da Forma??o Pedra de Fogo (Permiano), que afloram em
um amplo corte de estrada, situado entre Floriano e Teresina (Piau?). A segunda ?rea, situada
no Parque Nacional de Sete Cidades, tamb?m no Piau?, envolve rochas da Forma??o Cabe?as
depositadas em sistemas fl?vio-deltaicos, durante o Neodevoniano. Com os MVA elaborados
foi poss?vel identificar, linhas, superf?cies e geometrias 3D e, assim, quantificar as geometrias
de interesse. Dentre as parametriza??es mais relevantes, ressaltam-se a tabela com valores de
espessura e largura, obtidas em dep?sitos de canais e em lobos, nos afloramentos Pared?o e
Biblioteca. Esta tabela pode ser utilizada como entrada (input) para simula??o estoc?stica de
reservat?rios. Um exemplo da aplica??o direta dos radargramas interpretados foi a
identifica??o de superf?cies limitantes, em dep?sitos e?licos, da Forma??o Piau?. Apesar dos
radargramas oferecerem apenas dados bidimensionais, a aquisi??o de linhas distribu?das
segundo uma malha acrescentou a terceira dimens?o ao imageamento das geometrias
internas em todos os afloramentos estudados. ? ainda proposta uma nova metodologia que

Diante disso, percebeu-se que o Processo de Bolonha e o REUNI marcaram fortemente esse cen?rio, no ?mbito internacional e nacional, respectivamente, promovendo um novo modelo de forma??o acad?mica de n?vel superior, intitulado de Bacharelados Interdisciplinares - BIs, os quais priorizam a ado??o de um regime curricular mais flex?vel, metodologias de ensino-aprendizagem e avalia??o centradas no aluno, a pr?tica da interdisciplinaridade, a associa??o entre teoria e pr?tica, entre outros. Com base nesse cen?rio, buscou-se alcan?ar o seguinte objetivo: analisar a estrutura curricular e metodol?gica do modelo de forma??o interdisciplinar implementada pelo curso de Bacharelado em Ci?ncias e Tecnologia da UFRN, na ?tica do egresso. Quanto as aspectos metodol?gicos, ? uma pesquisa quantitativa e qualitativa, pois para obter as respostas relacionadas ao problema de an?lise e objetivos, fez-se uso dos seguintes instrumentos de coleta de dados: question?rios e entrevistas. Quanto ao seu delineamento, trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliogr?fica, documental e de campo. Considerando que a popula??o em estudo foi de 352 egressos, estimou-se uma amostra para aplica??o dos question?rios de 50,2%, e, de 5 egressos para a realiza??o das entrevistas. Para an?lise dos dados, al?m da aplica??o da estat?stica descritiva, a qual auferiu as frequ?ncias relativas e acumuladas dos dados colhidos nos question?rios, foi utilizado, tamb?m, as t?cnicas de an?lise de conte?do de Bardin (2014). A disserta??o teve como principais resultados: na percep??o dos egressos em rela??o ? estrutura curricular do BC&T, o curso tem buscado o desenvolvimento, pautando-se pelas orienta??es oficiais para os BIs, dispostas no documento Referenciais Orientadores para Bacharelados Interdisciplinares e similares. O curso tem desenvolvido a flexibilidade curricular atrav?s de suas op??es de forma??o interdisciplinar: geral, direcionada e para engenharias; e consolidando-se como um regime curricular de primeiro ciclo de forma??o acad?mica. Alguns problemas, entretanto, foram assinalados pelos egressos, especialmente a aus?ncia das pr?ticas interdisciplinares e a pr?tica de uma metodologia excessivamente tradicional.<br>This research was to analysis problem: the perception of the course graduates BC & T /
UFRN as the curriculum and methodological framework of the interdisciplinary academic
model? To support research, it broke the idea that education, from the 1970s, has undergone
several transformations adapt to the new hegemonic order of capitalist production and the
political changes, gradually introduced, so that it could contribute for economic and social
development of countries. Thus, it was noticed that the Bologna Process and the REUNI
marked strongly this scenario, the international and national levels, respectively, promoting a
new academic model of higher level, titled Bachelor degrees Interdisciplinary - IBs, which
prioritize the adoption a more flexible curriculum system, teaching-learning methodologies
and evaluation focused on the student, the practice of interdisciplinarity, the association
between theory and practice, among others. That said, it sought to achieve the following
overall goal: to analyze the curriculum and methodological framework of the interdisciplinary
training model implemented by the course of Bachelor of Science and Technology of UFRN,
from the viewpoint of egress. As for the analysis procedures, is a quantitative and qualitative
research, because to get the answers related to problem analysis and objectives, we made use
of the following data collection instruments: questionnaires and interviews. As for its design,
it is a bibliographical research, documentary and field. Whereas the study population of 352
graduates, it estimated a sample to administer the questionnaires 50.2%, and 5 graduates for
the interviews. To analyze the data, and the application of descriptive statistics, which earned
the relative frequencies and cumulative data collected from the questionnaires was used also a
sequence of activities, namely: reduction, categorization and interpretation of data (GIL,
2009). The dissertation highlighted as main results that the course has sought to develop the
curriculum flexibility through their academic options: general, directed and engineering.
However, from the viewpoint of egress, some problems have been reported, such as the
absence of interdisciplinary practice and the practice of an overly traditional methodology.

In female mammals, one of the X chromosomes is epigenetically inactivated through X chromosome Inactivation (XCI) during the epiblast differentiation. However, XCI is later specifically reversed in female germ cells by reactivation of the inactive X chromosome (XCR) via diffusible signaling molecules produced by female gonadal cells. The mechanistic study of XCR is however impeded by the low cell numbers present in vivo and the need for scalable readouts of X chromosome activity at allelic and single-cell resolution.
We characterized XCI and XCR kinetics of a new cell differentiation protocol that differentiates embryonic stem cells (ESCs) into X-inactive epiblast-like cells (Epi-LCs), from which in vitro germ cell (PGC-LCs) differentiation is stimulated through a set of cytokines. The goal was to obtain a source of X-inactive PGC-LCs that could be characterized while exposed to XCR-inducing cues, conforming an In vitro model for germline XCR. Contarily to what was believed in the field, PGC-LCs could undergo XCR mediated by the cytokines present in the PGC-LC differentiation media without exposure to female gonadal cells.
We also tested several oligo-FISH methodologies based on oligonucleotide labeling and hairpin chain reaction, discovering that combining hairpin chain reaction with the split-paired probe design of V3.0 smHCR provided a scalable platform to monitor the X activity at allelic resolution.
This thesis allowed the implementation of an in vitro model for XCR characterization in the germline and a foundation for a scalable readouts of the X activity at allelic and single-cell resolution.<br>En mamíferos, la diferencia de dosis génica entre sexos es epigenéticamente compensada en hembras por inactivación de uno de los cromosomas X (XCI) durante la diferenciación del epiblasto. No obstante, en las células germinales de las hembras, el cromosoma X es específicamente reactivado (XCR) en respuesta a la difusión de moléculas de señalización generadas por las células de la gónada femenina.El estudio de la XCI se ve obstaculizado, no obstante, por el escaso número de células en el embrión, así como la escasez de técnicas escalables para estudiar la actividad del cromosoma X con resolución alélica y a escala de célula única.
Carcaterizamos las cinéticas de XCI y XCR de un nuevo protocolo de diferenciación celular que diferencia células pluripotentes embrionarias (ESCs) en epiblast-like cells con el cromosoma X inactivo (Epi-LCs), a partir de las cuales se estimula la diferenciación in vitro de células germinales (PGC-LCs) mediante un conjunto de citoquinas. El objetivo era obtener una fuente de PGC-LCs con un cromosoma X inactivo para caracterizar el fenómeno de XCR tras su exposición controlada a efectores de la XCR, como moléculas de señalización gonadales.
Contrariamente a las expectativas del campo, las citoquinas presentes en el medio de diferenciación de PGC-LCs eran capaces de inducir XCR sin precisar exposición directa a células de la gónada femenina,
También probamos varias técnicas de oligo-FISH basadas en el marcaje fluorescente de oligonucleótidos y la hairpin chain reaction, descubriendo que combinar la intensidad de señal de la hairpin chain reaction con el diseño bipartito de sondas de la V3.0 smHCR proveía una plataforma escalable para el análisis de la actividad del X con resolución alélica.
Esta tesis permitió implementar un modelo in vitro para el estudio de la XCR en la línea germinal femenina y una base conceptual para un análisis escalable de la actividad del X con resolución alélica a nivel de una única célula.

model adapted to the Brazilian Federal Direct Public Administration. For this, a literature
review on issues related to that goal was developed, from which relevant publications to the
theoretical foundation of the proposed research model have been identified. Based on the
literature review and using the content analysis method, which consists of systematic
procedures that provide quantitative or qualitative indicators, it was possible to develop a
maturity model of project portfolio management aligned to the Portfolio Management
methodology of the Information Technology Resources System (MGPP-SISP) under the
Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management. The model was evaluated to a focal group of
experts to collect the perspectives and experiences of the participants. The present study
proposes a project portfolio management maturity model adapted to MGPP-SISP for

Para tanto, tem como objetivos espec?ficos: descrever o modelo atual de gest?o da qualidade de servi?os da CIENTEC; identificar atributos da qualidade de servi?os mais importantes para a avalia??o de uma Feira de Ci?ncias; desenvolver um instrumento de pesquisa com base nos atributos validados para a avalia??o da qualidade dos servi?os da CIENTEC; propor uma matriz de oportunidades, orientativa, para que os gestores fa?am interven??es e; elaborar diretrizes para aplica??o do modelo proposto. A proposta adotou a pesquisa-a??o como estrat?gia de pesquisa permitindo a identifica??o e valida??o de atributos de qualidade, por meio de semin?rios, junto aos gestores da CIENTEC; bem como a defini??o do encontro de servi?os. Realizou-se tamb?m um teste piloto junto aos visitantes da feira. Como resultado, apresenta-se o QualiCIENTEC um novo modelo de gest?o para a avalia??o da CIENTEC e as diretrizes para sua aplica??o.<br>This Intervention Project aims at a new reference model for managing the quality of the services offered by the Science, Technology and Culture Fair of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (CIENTEC), including a benchmarking instrument and application procedures. To do so, it has the following specific objectives: describe CIENTEC's current model of service quality management; Identify attributes of the quality of services most important for the evaluation of a Science Fair; Develop a research tool based on validated attributes for the evaluation of the quality of CIENTEC services; Propose an array of opportunities, for guidance, for managers to make interventions; Guidelines for the application of the proposed model. The proposal adopted action research as a research strategy allowing the identification and validation of quality attributes, through seminars, with the managers of CIENTEC; As well as the definition of the meeting of services. A pilot test was also held with visitors to the fair. As a result, QualiCIENTEC presents a new management model for CIENTEC evaluation and the guidelines for its application.
