Hard metal lung disease (HMLD) is rarely diagnosed and is caused by the occupational inhalation of hard metal dust, mainly cobalt. The diagnosis of HMLD is based on a thorough occupational dust exposure combined with clinical–radiological–histological findings. We present a series of four Chinese workers who had occupational exposure to cobalt acid lithium or cobalt and tungsten dust. Four patients all complained of intermittent cough, chest tightness, or shortness of breath on exertion. Familial interstitial lung disease (ILD) is defined as presence of ILD in 2 or more family members. Surfactant protein C (SFTPC) gene mutations are rare, but well-known cause of familial ILD. We reported a 20-year-old male, who was referred for lung transplantation. He was symptomatic at age 3 and underwent surgical lung biopsy at age 6, which revealed a nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP) pattern. Genetic workup revealed a novel SFTPC mutation in the first intron with a C to A transversion. At age 21, he underwent bilateral lung transplantation. Explanted lung histology suggested NSIP.

Abstract:
As of now, about 380 medications are implicated in causing respiratory reactions and most common among that is drug-induced interstitial disease.Oral, parental as well inhalational drugs are known to cause drug-induced interstitial lung disease. Bleomycin is a chemotherapeutic agent used inthe treatment of lymphomas, germ cell tumors of the testes. Most common pulmonary toxicity is diffuse alveolar damage with nonspecific interstitialpneumonitis being next. We report a case of bleomycin-induced reversible acute interstitial pneumonia in a Hodgkin’s lymphoma patient with adriamycin, bleomycin,

AbstractSjogren's syndrome (SS) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by mononuclear cells (principally lymphocytes) infiltrating exocrine glands (e.g., salivary and lacrimal glands), leading to destruction of exocrine epithelial cells and dryness of mucosal surfaces. Cardinal symptoms are dry eyes (xerophthalmia) and dry mouth (xerostomia). Extraglandular sites are affected in 30 to 40% of cases of SS (particularly neurological, kidneys, skin, and lungs). B cell hyperactivity, autoantibody production, and hypergammaglobulinemia are cardinal features of SS. Primary SS is not associated
