Abstract This study aimed to assess and compare the impact of priming with gibberellic acid (GA3) and N-hexanoyl-L-homoserine lactone (C6-HSL) on acorn germination, seedling growth, and the balance of endogenous phytohormones in 47-day-old seedlings of pedunculated oak (Quercus robur L.). The screening of strains (four of Gibberella fujikuoroi and one of Fusarium moniliforme) and substrates (citric pulp, soy bran, sugarcane bagasse, soy husk, cassava bagasse and coffee husk) and inoculum preparation study were conducted in order to evaluate the best conditions to produce GA3 by SSF. To test the effectiveness of different bioregulators in enhancing bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) yield and fruit quality, the commercial bioregulators CCC, NAA, GA3, and Biozyme® were sprayed on plants at flower initiation, followed by two additional applications at 30-day intervals. Biozyme produced a significant increase in total yield but ≈40% of the fruit were not marketable. Treatment with NAA produced the highest yield of marketable fruit. The effect of the time of application of Gibberellic Acid (GA3) and Lipo-Chitin Oligosaccharides (LCOs) on annual production of globe artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) cultivars 'Imperial Star' and 'Green Globe' was studied in 2000 and 2001. Phytohormone-producing rhizobacteria are a group of beneficial bacteria residing in the rhizosphere that have the unique ability to produce, release, and also modulate phytohormones such as auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, ethylene, and jasmonic acid (JA). This work explores a diverse group of rhizobacteria that possess the ability to synthesize and secrete phytohormones and their effects on the growth of different plants. We conducted growth chamber experiments to overcome challenges of native seed germination relating to disease and germination time. We selected five northern species, Eriophorum vaginatum, E. virginicum, Anemone patens var. multifida, Polemonium reptans, and Senecio con-gestus, for their native ranges and commercial-nursery availability. Recommended stratification time for each species was either unknown or a minimum of 60 days.
