Abstract:
Cette thèse a trait à l'étude du système de Gif, système d’oxydation des hydrocarbures saturés, mettant en présence un réducteur, le zinc, un complexe trinucléaire de fer, Fe3 O(CH3C00)6 (Pyr)3,5 et de l’oxygène moléculaire dans un mélange pyridine-acide acétique à température ambiante. Ce système se distingue des autres modèles par un rendement d’oxydation élevé et surtout par sa sélectivité intéressante et inhabituelle pour l’activation préférentielle des liaisons C-H secondaires. L’étude approfondie du rôle de la pyridine dans ce système a permis de mieux justifier la spécificité de ce solvant, garant de l’efficacité et de la sélectivité du système de Gif. Ses rôles de ligand vis-à-vis du fer et agent de transfert des élections semblent être ses propriétés essentielles. L’introduction d’une grande diversité de sels métalliques dans le système de Gif, en présence et en absence de Fe3 O(CH3C00)6 (Pyr)3,5 , nous a amené à établir la spécificité des sels de FER ; Une étude plus approfondie a été effectuée avec les sels de tungstène et de cérium. Enfin, nous avons réalisé toute une série d’expériences en présence de divers composés organiques susceptibles de réagir avec le métallocarbène, postulé pour rendre compte de la formation des cétones. De tous ces composés, le diphényldiséléniure s’est révélé le plus intéressant. Cette étude nous a permis de mettre en évidence une nouvelle réaction d’un intérêt synthétique évident, la conversion d’un hydrocarbure en son dérivé phényl-sélénié dans des conditions opératoires simples et douces, avec un rendement satisfaisant
This Thesis is concerned with a study of the "Gif system", a means of oxidising saturated hydrocarbons, using a reductant, zinc, a trinuclear iron complex, Fe3 O(CH3C00)6 (Pyr)3,5 and molecular oxygen in a pyridine-acetic acid mixture, in air and at ambient temperature. It differs from other systems in its greater oxidation yields and above all by its interesting and unusual selectivity for the preferential activation of secondary C-H bonds. An in-depth study of the role of pyridine in this system has given us a better understanding of the necessity of this solvent for the efficiency and selectivity of the Gif system. It apparently functions essentially as a ligand for iron and as an electron transfer reagent. By introducing many different metal salts into the Gif system, in the presence and absence of Fe3 O(CH3C00)6 (Pyr)3,5 ,we have been able to establish the undoubted specific requirement for iron salts. Further studies have been performed with tungsten and cerium salts. Finally, a series of experiments was carried out with several organic compounds, able to react with the metallocarbene which is postulated to account for ketone formation. Of these, diphenyldiselenide proved the most interesting. Through this study we have discovered a new reaction of obvious synthetic interest, the facile conversion, in satisfactory yields, under mild conditions, of a hydrocarbon into its phenylselenide derivative

Abstract:
Esta dissertação tem como objetivo geral avaliar como propriedades técnicas particulares, e aspectos afetivos, expressivos e culturais contribuem para a vitalidade, apropriação e criação de novos usos para o GIF animado, considerando as limitações e defasagens dessa tecnologia. O referencial teórico divide-se em três partes: na primeira, são tratadas questões referentes às propriedades técnicas do formato GIF, suas vantagens e limites, e seu histórico de usos e aplicações; na segunda, são explorados fenômenos culturais que podem ter implicado nas apropriações do GIF animado; e na terceira, o GIF animado é investigado a partir de seus aspectos afetivos e expressivos. Na investigação empírica, recorreu-se à seleção por bola de neve para identificar sujeitos que usam intensamente GIFs animados em suas práticas cotidianas. Foram realizadas dezesseis entrevistas qualitativas semiestruturadas, a partir das quais foram feitas a análise e discussão dos resultados. Em termos gerais, concluiu-se que a vitalidade do GIF animado deve-se a uma combinação de questões técnicas inerentes às materialidades da tecnologia, demandas de consumo próprias da cultura contemporânea e, também, ao surgimento de espaços adequados para sua circulação e proliferação.
This study aims primarily to evaluate how specific technical proprieties, and affective, expressive and cultural aspects contribute to the vitality, appropriation and creation of new uses for the animated GIF, regarding its technical restrictions. The theoretical part is divided in three chapters: in the first one, we deal with the matter of the technical features of the GIF format, its advantages and limitations, and the history of its uses and applications; in the second chapter, some of the cultural phenomena that made the appropriations of the animated GIF possible are scanned; finally, in the third one, the animated GIF is investigated from its affective and expressive aspects. To develop the empirical research we identified, through snowball selection, subjects who use animated GIFs intensively on their daily practices. Then, sixteen qualitative interviews were conducted, from which emerged the analysis and discussion of results. In summary, we concluded that the vitality of the animated GIF was made possible due to a combination of technical and material aspects, intrinsic to this technology, consumption demands typical of the present-day culture and, also, to the emergence of spaces suited to its circulation and proliferation.

Abstract:
Des etudes mecanistiques sur la formation des hydroperoxydes d'alkyles (intermediaires de la reaction d'oxydation) ont ete realisees dans le cas de l'oxydation des hydrocarbures satures avec les systemes de gif, qui utilisent le chlorure de fer ii ou iii en solution dans un melange de pyridine-acide acetique. Ces etudes ont ete realisees grace a l'addition d'agents reducteurs tels que la triphenyle phosphine et le phosphite de trimethyle dans le systeme de gif#i#v (reducteur: zinc, oxydant: o#2). L'utilisation d'oxygene marque (#1#8o#2) a permis de demontrer que les atomes d'oxygene dans l'hydroperoxyde de cyclohexyle lors de l'oxydation du cyclohexane avec le systeme de goagg#i#i (oxydant h#2o#2) provenait de l'oxygene moleculaire et non pas de peroxyde d'hydrogene comme il avait longtemps ete suggere. Par des experiences sous vide, il a ensuite ete demontre que la formation de ces hydroperoxydes d'alkyles ne faisait pas intervenir de radicaux libres. L'utilisation de l'hydroperoxyde de t-butyle comme oxydant a permis de realiser une etude comparative de ces systemes avec le systeme de goagg#i#i. L'addition de la triphenyle phosphine dans le systeme de goagg#i#i a permis de remplacer la formation des produits d'oxydation (cetone et alcool) par la formation des produits chlores et azides correspondants. Cette transformation n'avait jamais ete decrite auparavant avec le systeme de goagg#i#i

A journalist’s task is to – in a fair, balanced and objective way – deliver news to the world. But how does it affect a sportswriter’s reporting when he/she has two teams to monitor? Can you still be objective reguarding both teams, or does one team get more attention then the other? The purpose of this study was to examine the objectivity in the reporting of the two bandy teams Bollnäs GIF and Edsbyns IF in the local news paper Ljusnan. Based on different theories of objectivity, I conducted a quantitative content analysis and a qualitative critical discourse analysis of articles written during two Elite League seasons. The result showed a constant slight advantage for Bollnäs GIF before Edsbyns IF.
Journalistens uppgift är att på ett nyanserat, balanserat och objektivt sätt förmedla nyheter till allmänheten. Men hur påverkas rapporteringen för en sportjournalist när man har två lag att rapportera om? Kan man fortfarande vara rättvis och objektiv, eller får det ena laget mer publicitet än det andra? Syftet med den här studien var att undersöka hur objektivt lokaltidningen Ljusnan rapporterat om de två bandylagen Bollnäs GIF och Edsbyns IF. Med utgångspunkt i teorier om objektivitet har jag genomfört en kvantitativ innehållsanalys och en kvalitativ kritisk diskursanalys på artiklar skrivna under två elitseriesäsonger. Resultatet visade, både i den kvantitativa och kvalitativa analysen, på ett konstant litet övertag för Bollnäs GIF.

Cette thèse est consacrée à l'étude d'un système d'oxydation des hydrocarbures saturés, le système de Gif, qui met en présence un réducteur fer ou zinc, un catalyseur de fer et de l'oxygène moléculaire dans un mélange pyridine-acide acétique à température ambiante. Ce système se distingue des systèmes existants par un rendement d'oxydation élevé et surtout par sa sélectivité intéressante et inhabituelle pour l'activation préférentielle des liaisons C-H secondaires les hydrocarbures sont oxydés principalement en cétones. Saturés Nous avons examiné l'oxydation de substrats naturels complexes, stéroides et terpénoides. L'oxydation des dérivés du cholestérol conduit majoritairement à la dégradation de la chaîne latérale pour donner la cétone en 20 correspondantes. L'étude de l'influence de la température a montré que le mécanisme de cette transformation fait intervenir un radical 25-alcoxy. L'oxydation de différents terpénoïdes a fourni en une étape toute une gamme de cétones nouvelles et a également révélé la réactivité particulière du système de Gif vis-i-vis des doubles liaisons. Enfin, l'introduction dans le système originel de réactifs appropriés a conduit à une variété de réactions dérivées. Ainsi le système de Gif permet d'effectuer, selon les conditions, la transformation directe d'un hydrocarbure saturé en dérivés phényl-séléniés, en dérivés phényl-sulfurés, en dérivés chlorés ou en dérivés bromés
This thesis is concerned with a study of the "Gif system", a means of oxidising saturated hydrocarbons, using a reductant, zinc or iron, an iron catalyst and molecular oxygen in a pyridine-acetic acid mixture at room temperature. This system differs from other systems in its greater oxidation yield and, above all, by its interesting and unusual selectivity for the preferential activation of secondary C-H bonds: saturated hydrocarbons are oxidised mainly into ketones. We have examined the oxidation of complex natural substrates, steroids and terpenoids. The oxidation of cholesterol derivatives results mainly in side-chain cleavage to yield the corresponding 20-ketone. A study of the effect of temperature has enabled us to show that the mechanism of this transformation involves a 25-alkoxy radical as key-intermediate. The oxidation of several terpenoids has yielded in one step a large number of new ketones and has revealed the special reactivity of the Gif system towards carbon-carbon double bonds. Finally, the introduction of adequate reagents into the original system has lead us to the discovery of a variety of derived reactions. Thus, the Gif system allows to carry out the direct transformation of a saturated hydrocarbon into phenyl-seleno-, phenyl-thio, chloro- or brome­ derivatives, depending on the reaction conditions

Abstract:
This article takes as its starting point that crime fiction is a public and political response to gender-based violence. Using the methods of both discourse analysis and literary analysis of the crime fiction genre, the novels of Margie Orford, internationally acclaimed crime author and patron of Rape Crisis, are examined for their representations of violence against women, and the role played by these representations in Orford’s overall feminist project in the Clare Hart series. The article also considers theories about gender-based violence which link male violence to a purported crisis in the established gender order of South Africa. An attempt is made to understand the relationship between fictionalised representations of violence and the ‘banality’ of real-life violence. Finally, Hart, Orford’s hard-boiled female detective figure, is assessed to determine whether this character constitutes a significant feminist achievement that contributes to discourses which counter gender-based violence

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze how GIF Sundsvallcommunicates their CSR activity, Back 2 basics. This activity strives to reduce the barriers that exist in vulnerable areas in Sundsvall among children and young people, with equal opportunities to practice sports  and activities. This study is using semi-structured interviews with two well representative people from GIF Sundsvall, Henrik Wikström who started this project 2008 and Tomas Jonsson who is working with this activity today. We have also interviewed 5 actors that have been working more or less with this project during 2019 and 2020. With these representative people for our study, we want to see how GIF Sundsvallare communicating from both their own perspective and the involved actors. The result of this study shows that GIF Sundsvall has a will to communicate their CSR activity, but that the resources and the knowledge is not enough. Further on the result shows that GIF does not have an inside-out perspective, that it seems unclear if the whole association appears to stand behind the work with the CSR activities.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) är ett samlingsbegrepp som omfattar flera olika områden inom social hållbarhet. Det är ett frivilligt arbete som innebär att organisationer eller företag tar ett ökat ansvar för att bidra med ökad nytta för samhället. Idag är det ingen fråga om ett företag ska arbeta med CSR, utan snarare hur de ska arbeta med CSR (Borglund, De Geer & Hallvarsson, 2009:13). Denna undersökning är en fallstudie av fotbollsföreningen GIF Sundsvall, där vi har funnit ett intresse att undersöka hur de arbetar med sin CSR- kommunikation om aktiviteten Back 2 Basics. Detta är GIF:s mest framgångsrika aktivitet, där de tillsammans med andra aktörer arbetar för att öka samhällsnyttan. Genom att utföra aktiviteten inkluderar och möjliggörs barn och ungdomars lika förutsättningar att utöva aktiviteter och sporter i de utsatta områdena i Sundsvall. Undersökningsperioden har avgränsats från 2019 till 2020 då vi ville ha en sådan aktuell inblick som möjligt i föreningens kommunikation.En kvalitativ metod har tillämpats i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer med två personer från GIF Sundsvall - Henrik Wikström, som startade upp Back 2 Basics, och Tomas Jonsson, som är CSR-ansvarig i dagsläget. Ytterligare intervjuer har genomförts med fem olika aktörer som verkat under tidsperioden. Syftet med intervjuerna var att få en fördjupad förståelse hur GIF Sundsvall arbetar och tillämpar sin CSR-kommunikation. Resultatet av studien visar på att GIF Sundsvall har en vilja av att kommunicera sitt CSR-arbete, men att resurserna och kunskapen inte räcker hela vägen. Det finns idag en slags förväntan från aktörerna att GIF ska utföra CSR-arbete, men även att de ska synliggöra CSR kommunikationen för deras aktivitet Back 2 Basics. Vidare visar resultatet på att GIF inte utgår från ett inifrån- och ut perspektiv, att det upplevs vara otydligt om hela föreningen genomsyras och står bakom det CSR-arbete som utförs.

Esta dissertação aborda conceitos da midiatização em relação ao cinema e as apropriações de seus elementos nos meios digitais pelos atores sociais. Para tanto, nos propomos a analisar a circulação do gif Confused Travolta, verificando as transformações que ocorrem no circuito que se forma entre sua produção e seu reconhecimento. Tem como objetivo principal compreender como as apropriações de elementos cinematográficos, a lógica do cinema e o personagem Vincent Vega produzem sentidos, criam circuitos complexos de comunicação, transformam as interações sociais e potencializam novos dispositivos de comunicação. Nesse sentido, a questão que levantamos e que norteia a pesquisa é O que transforma, no circuito da midiatização, quando imagens são construídas a partir de elementos cinematográficos e se deslocam para sistemas de lógicas diferentes do seu original? com base uma base teórica, problematizamos perspectivas da sociedade dos meios para a sociedade em vias de midiatização. Além disso, ao levantar os aspectos essenciais sobre conceitos da circulação e circuitos, desenvolvemos questões a partir das apropriações e usos nos meios digitais. Este levantamento teórico articulou, juntamente com algumas teorias do cinema, a possibilidade de reflexão sobre a estrutura cinematográfica entre a montagem e a justaposição de cenas, lógicas de produção e personagens arquetípicos e como são observadas estas lógicas no gif Confused Travolta. Através da análise, foi possível verificar os atravessamentos da midiatização nas práticas sociais e, em consequência, nas apropriações dos elementos cinematográficos. Consideramos que o gif em questão, atravessado pela lógica da midiatização, em que os atores sociais produzem materiais para pôr em circulação, aproxima-se e distancia-se da sua referência original, transforma interações entre atores sociais, produz o agenciamento de fluxos e conversações nos meios digitais, ressignifica o sentido do personagem Vincent Vega e propõe a formação de um novo dispositivo tentativo de comunicação através do gif Confused Travolta.
This dissertation approaches concepts of mediatization in relation to cinema and the appropriations of its elements in digital media by social actors. For this, we propose to analyze the circulation of the Confused Travolta gif, verifying the transformations that occur in the circuit that is formed between its production and recognition. Aims to understand how the appropriations of cinematographic elements such as the cinema logic and the Vincent Vega character produce meaning, create complex circuits of communication, transform social interactions and potentiate new communication devices. In this sense, the question that is raised and that guides research is what transforms, in the circuit of mediatization, when images are constructed from cinematographic elements and are moved to systems of logics different from their original? From a theoretical base, we problematize perspectives of the society of the means for the society in the process of mediatization. Besides that by raising the essential aspects of concepts of circulation and circuits, we develop questions from appropriations and uses in digital media.This theoretical survey articulated, along with some theories of cinema, the possibility of reflection on the cinematographic structure between the assembly and juxtaposition of scenes, production logics and archetypal characters and how these logics are observed in the Confused Travolta gif. Through the analysis it was possible to verify the crossings of mediatization in social practices and, consequently, in the appropriations of the cinematographic elements.We consider that the gif in question, crossed by the logic of mediatization, where social actors produce materials to put into circulation, approaches and distances itself from its original reference, transforms interactions between social actors, produces the agency of flows and conversations in the digital media, resigns the sense of the character Vincent Vega and proposes the formation of a new tentative device of communication through the Confused Travolta gif.
