Abstract:
A recent study of patients undergoing implant surgery showed a significant increase in the prevalence of peri-implant disease, with peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis predominating. Peri-implant disease mostly appears after several years of implant use. Currently, the diagnosis of peri-implant disease relies on peri-implant soft tissue exploration and imaging, but abnormalities in these indicators only occur when tissue destruction has already occurred and cannot predict whether an implant has the potential to develop peri-implant disease. Therefore, the early diagnosis of peri-implan

Gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) is an important source for the assessment of periodontal and peri-implant disease activity and response to periodontal therapy. GCF contains cellular components such as epithelium, bacteria, leukocytes, erythrocytes, viruses and their by-products, electrolytes, bacterial metabolic products, host and bacterial enzymes, and enzyme inhibitors such as acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, cytokines, and immunoglobulins. In addition, it is also found that drugs taken systemically pass into the GCF.

The aim of this study was to investigate whether receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B (RANK) concentrations in peri-implant crevicular fluid could be associated with clinical parameters that reflect inflammatory nature of peri-implantitis. Methods. The study included 67 patients, 22 with diagnosed peri-implantitis, 22 persons with healthy peri-implant tissues and 23 patients with periodontitis. Clinical paramet

Untreated peri-implantitis results into implant failure. Therefore, it is of interest to assess the effect of diode laser on peri-implantitis and levels of crevicular fluid biomarkers. Hence, this study involved 20 participants, with a total of 24 dental implants exhibiting peri-implantitis on the laser group (n = 10) and the control group (n = 10). Clinical parameters around the implants were evaluated and samples of peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF) were collected at baseline, as well as at 3-month and 6-month follow-up intervals. These groups exhibited significant differences in terms of

The biological sealing (BS) around implants is a dominant factor to determine the long-term success of peri-implant health. There are several features of the BS around implants in common with the soft tissue attached to teeth, such as the presence of crevicular fluid, acquired pellicle, epithelium; otherwise, the quality of the BS around implants is weaker compared with the junctional epithelium of natural teeth. Then, this article aimed to describe three cases report showing the presence of a BS (cuticle-crevice fluid-acquired pellicle) around the fixed crowns on dental implants in the anteri

N-Telopeptide (NTx) and Calprotectin are abundant in the crevicular fluids found in that area, and are thought to be possible biomarkers. Nevertheless, the measurements of volume and biomarkers concentration can be critically biased when data collected from studies with parallel group design are compared, given the technical difficulties, methodological variables, as well as the variability of crevicular fluid characteristics among different individuals. Objective:The aim of the present study was to assess the G
