Incompatibility in hazelnut (Corylus avellana L.) is of the sporophytic type and is under the control of a single S-locus with multiple alleles. Tests in recent years have identified four new alleles, bringing the total to 26. Improved pollen testers have been identified for several alleles. The S-alleles of more than 90 cultivars have been identified by fluorescence microscopy and will be presented. These cultivars (and their alleles) include Tonda di Giffoni (2 23), San Giovanni (2 8), Gasaway (3 26), Gunslebert (5 23), Kadetten (20 25), Lang Tidlig Zeller (4 20), Nocciolino Sangrato (7 17), Rode Zeller (6 11), Segorbe (9 23), and Simon (6 22).

Lo studio esplora il ruolo del rimpianto anticipato nella teoria del comportamento pianifica-to (Theory of Planned Behaviour, TPB; Ajzen, 1991) applicata al consumo di frutta come snack. Il modello ipotizzato estende la TPB con l'inclusione del comportamento passato e del rimpianto anticipato. Gli obiettivi principali sono: a) testare se il rimpianto anticipato migliori il potere predittivo della TPB, anche dopo aver considerato il comportamento passato; b) analiz-zare se il rimpianto moderi la relazione tra intenzione e comportamento. Lo studio è stato con-dotto in due fasi, a distanza di due settimane. Nella prima fase, il questionario strutturato online includeva le misure dell'intenzione e dei suoi antecedenti e item per rilevare il comportamento passato e il rimpianto anticipato. Nella seconda è stato rilevato il comportamento di consumo di frutta fresca come snack nelle due settimane precedenti. Ha partecipato allo studio un campione di convenienza di 361 studenti universitari italiani. I risultati ottenuti mediante le analisi di re-gressione mostrano che comportamento passato e rimpianto anticipato migliorano la capacità della TPB di prevedere sia l'intenzione sia il comportamento futuro. Inoltre, il rimpianto mode-ra l'effetto dell'intenzione sul comportamento, che è significativo solo quando il rimpianto è elevato. In conclusione, i risultati supportano l'importanza di considerare il rimpianto anticipa-to nella previsione delle intenzioni di mettere in atto questo comportamento alimentare salutare e l'utilità di far leva su questa reazione affettiva per rinforzare il legame intenzione-comportamento.

Starting from a singular ‘methodological’ note from 1992 by Fred Licht on the Altersstil of American painter William Congdon and from a later art exhibition, the article sheds light on relevant aspects of the late manner of a protagonist of American Abstract Expressionism. The article suggests a possible start date on the background of a dense critical debate, spanning from Clement Greenberg to the beginning of the twenty-first century, and relying on scholars such as Giovanni Testori and Giuseppe Mazzariol. It illustrates a rare example of expressive Survival that connects two fascinating physiognomies of Congdon, an artist who disappeared and reappeared several times throughout the art history and system, and of a great scholar, recently deceased, that deserves not to be forgotten.

Giovanni Testori was one of the fundamental intellectuals of the Italian twentieth century, who inaugurated a new way of conceiving and decline the languages of art within society. Among the many aspects of his artistic character emerges that of man of the theater, since the art of performance was the form of ‘total art’ in which he reached the highest expressive vertices. It is no coincidence, in fact, that Testori’s posthumous rediscovery took place mainly within the perimeter of the scene, through an exceptional intensification of his shows in contemporary Italian theater. Leveraging on a precise historical-critical methodology and an updated theatrological approach, the essay analyzes the current stage fortune of the Lombard ‘scribe’, through the examination of six testorian theatrical productions realized in 2019. The study conducted on the grammar of scenic writing, on the compositional procedures of the directorial work, and on the forms of the acting of these productions led us to elaborate a completed prospectus of the new testorian scene; a vivid theatrical mapping of his artistic renaissance, linked to the practical and intrinsic memory of his dramaturgical corpus. The results of the analysis illustrate the cultural and social reasons of the rediscovery of Testori, the concrete ways in which the scenic ‘reactivation’ of his works is performed today, and the strengths, connected to the role of the actor and the ritual dimension, of this intense testorian vague.

Il notevole aumento dell’incidenza dell’adenocarcinoma acinare della prostata degli ultimi anni ha reso necessaria la ricerca di una terapia alternativa all’intervento chirurgico. Visto il ruolo fondamentale svolto dall’IGF-1R nel processo di trasformazione e progressione neoplastica, l’inibizione della sua cascata di trasduzione del segnale rappresenta un buon approccio terapeutico per lo sviluppo di terapie bersaglio specifiche. In questo studio è stata, quindi, valutata in immunoistochimica l’espressione di IGF-1R su tessuto neoplastico già diagnosticato su 90 casi selezionati, al fine di correlare la positività di IGF-1R al grading score delle neoplasie ed all’età dei pazienti affetti da adenocarcinoma acinare della prostata. Dai risultati ottenuti, si evince che non può essere individuata una categoria di pazienti che – a priori – può giovarsi della target therapy con anti IGF-1R. È, infatti, indispensabile testare ogni singolo caso attraverso indagini di immunoistochimica o di biologia molecolare per disegnare un profilo genetico del singolo tumore, al fine di individuare con attendibilità il bersaglio molecolare sensibile ad una terapia mirata, come può diventare – nell’immediato futuro – l’Insulin like Growth Factor Receptor.

Attraverso un lavoro di ricerca condotto presso l'Archivio Testori di Milano, si è cercato di ricostruire il percorso di inesausta revisione che ha portato l'autore a redigere ben 18 bozze, prima di abbandonare definitivamente il progetto, in una fase artistica a seguito dello scandalo de L' Arialda, da tempo considerata una sospensione della sua scrittura teatrale, che anticipa, per temi e soluzioni drammaturgiche, le opere che segneranno il definitivo abbandono della fase neorealistica, a partire da La Monaca di Monza.L'Imerio by Giovanni Testori is a drama that has been rewritten several times and has remained unpublished because it was never considered concluded. Through a research work conducted at the Testori Archive in Milan, an attempt was made to reconstruct the path of inexhaustible revision that led the author to draw up 18 drafts, before definitively abandoning the project, in an artistic phase following the The scandal of L'Arialda, for some time considered a suspension of his theatrical writing, which anticipates, by themes and dramaturgical solutions, the works that will mark the definitive abandonment of the neorealistic phase, starting with La Monaca di Monza.

La tesi vuole porre in luce come la poetica e l’opera dello scrittore, pittore e critico d'arte Giovanni
Testori nascano da un dialogo tra letteratura e arti visive, formulando un’ipotesi interpretativa
interdisciplinare che spieghi la matrice figurativa e non solo letteraria della sua scrittura. Il lavoro
si propone due obiettivi speculari: l'individuazione dei precedenti figurativi nell’immaginario del
Testori scrittore con gli strumenti della storia dell'arte, operazione finora condotta dagli italianisti
in modo non organico, e l'esame della produzione dell’autore nell’ambito della critica d’arte con
gli strumenti della critica letteraria, sino ad oggi affrontato quasi esclusivamente da storici
dell'arte. La tesi analizza l'opera pittorica dell'autore e le diverse declinazioni della sua scrittura,
conferendo ampio risalto agli articoli scritti da Testori per i periodici e finora meno frequentati
dalla critica. Il primo capitolo indaga il realismo testoriano in rapporto al magistero di Longhi, alla
poetica del «sublime del quotidiano» e del sermo humilis in parola e in figura - rintracciato negli
artisti del realismo lombardo fra i secoli XV e XVIII (Foppa, Moroni, Romanino, Caravaggio, Fra
Galgario, Ceruti) e nei Sacri Monti (Gaudenzio Ferrari) - e all'influenza di Manzoni (con confronti
con Gadda). Il secondo capitolo vede il corpo, fulcro della poetica testoriana, come oggetto di
riflessione estetico-teologica in varie prospettive: gli echi paolini nell'iconografia del Christus
patiens e triumphans, l'omosessualità, l'unità dell'essere dalla creazione alla resurrezione, la peste
di Carlo Borromeo e dei pestanti (Francesco Cairo, Tanzio da Varallo). Il terzo capitolo enuclea i
motivi ricorrenti nell'opera testoriana, di matrice spesso religiosa e provenienti dalla produzione
figurativa dell'autore o da altri pittori, quali il sacrificio di Cristo, l'assimilazione fra l'artista e il
martire e l'opposizione fra finitezza umana e infinità divina.

La rinomata tendenza di Giovanni Testori a plasmare il processo compositivo, preordinandolo ad alcuni attori o, in qualche caso, a compagnie teatrali, è il punto di partenza del progetto indirizzato ad una restituzione della scrittura drammatica testoriana che rifletta la complessità e la ricchezza dei suoi esiti sulla scena e delle ripercussioni sul recitato attoriale, liberandola dalla riduzione al precipitato letterario e inserendola nel contesto storico in cui era immerso il drammaturgo.
Inoltre, in virtù delle sue dichiarazioni teoriche e riguardanti l’importanza della voce in fase di concepimento del testo, il discorso assume l’elemento vocale come chiave di lettura del suo teatro, affrontato nel solco della combinazione tra analisi del linguaggio e sguardo sui riscontri critici.
Operando all’interno del corpus testoriano una suddivisione cronologicamente tripartita, il percorso, che adotta un approccio di tipo “storico-critico”, propone dei "casi paradigmatici": una selezione, all’interno di ciascuna fase, di messe in scena sottoposte ad uno sguardo più ravvicinato, finalizzato alla ricostruzione dell’avvenimento teatrale.
Primo caso paradigmatico affrontato e punto essenziale dell’elaborato sono Le Lombarde, spettacolo del 1950 su testo coevo di Testori, il cui copione dattiloscritto inedito, fino ad ora considerato perduto, è stato recuperato nel febbraio del 2016 a seguito di un’intervista con Gianfranco De Bosio: la sua analisi consente di fornire un quadro più completo sulla drammaturgia testoriana, in particolare su quella d’esordio, sulla quale ci si sofferma con lo scopo di ricomposizione del contesto in cui l’artista operava.
La necessità di una prospettiva scenico-performativa sottopone questo dramma e quelli dei casi prescelti alla verifica storica dello spettacolo, tenendo conto del materiale relativo alle rappresentazioni (di ricezione critica, programmi di sala, foto, locandine), frutto di ricerche in archivio, del punto di vista dello scrittore (dichiarazioni, asserzioni teoriche) e delle interviste con i suoi collaboratori raccolte sul campo.The renowned tendency of Giovanni Testori to shape the writing process on certain actors or even, in some cases, on predetermined theatre companies, is the starting point of this work, which sets out to examine Testori’s theatre texts looking at the historical context that surrounded him, rather than reducing the analysis on his mere final scripts. Furthermore, keeping in mind his theoretical statements on the importance of the voice of the actor while conceiving a text, this work examines the vocal element as the reading key of Testori’s theatre, combining language analysis and critical feedbacks. Dividing Testori’s corpus chronologically in three parts, this work adopts a ”historical- critical” approach and offers some “case studies”: a selection of plays, within each of the three fases, to be looked at closely in such a way to rebuild the original theatrical happening. The first remarkable case is represented by Le Lombarde, performed in 1950 and written in the same year; its script, considered lost for many years, was recovered in February 2016 after an interview with Gianfranco De Bosio: his analysis offers a more complete framework on Testori’s works, particularly on his early works, which this essay examines in order to rebuild the context in which the artist was operating. Because a “stage/performative” perspective was needed, this play and the other case studies will undergo a historical analysis of the shows that will consider also the material regarding the staging of the shows (critics feedback, pictures, posters, leaflets of presentation), collected thanks to an archive research, the writer’s point of view (theoretical statements) and the interviews with people that worked with him.

La tesi propone uno studio monografico sul fiorentino Giovan Battista Strozzi il Giovane detto il Cieco (1551-1634), letterato e animatore di circoli culturali dalla Firenze medicea alla Roma barberiniana, attraverso la Milano borromaica e i cenacoli capitolini degli Aldobrandini e degli Umoristi. Nel primo dei tre capitoli che scandiscono la ricerca si è appuntata l’attenzione sulla partecipazione del Giovane alle attività di due vivaci consessi della sua città natale: l’Accademia Fiorentina e l’Accademia degli Alterati. Nel secondo è stata condotta una disamina dell’opera in versi – per la maggior parte ancora inedita – che comprende decine di epistole metriche in endecasillabi sciolti, un incompiuto poema in onore di Amerigo Vespucci, nonché un ricco corpus di madrigali, la cui stesura, nell’esperienza del Cieco, procedette di conserva con la speculazione teorica intorno alla nuova fisionomia cinquecentesca di questo antico genere lirico. La terza sezione si concentra invece sul contributo dello Strozzi alle discussioni di poetica (la ‘Commedia’ dantesca, il poema eroico, le unità aristoteliche) che accesero gli ambienti letterari italiani nella seconda metà del secolo XVI. Affiancando l’esegesi dei testi alla ricostruzione biografica – condotta su un ampio numero di documenti epistolari editi e inediti –, si è cercato di restituire il giusto spessore storico a ciascuno degli scritti presi in esame, ricostruendo i differenti contesti culturali in cui furono composti e scandagliando la fitta trama di relazioni – umane e letterarie – che si profila sullo sfondo di essi. Completano il lavoro una bibliografia delle opere antiche e moderne, un indice dei manoscritti e un indice dei nomi di persona.The thesis proposes a monographic study on the Florentine Giovan Battista Strozzi the Younger also known as the Blind (1551-1634). He was a writer with connections in cultural circles across Renaissance Italy, including Medici’s Florence, Barberini’s Rome, Borromean Milan and the Roman cenacles of the Aldobrandini and the Humorists. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the participation of Strozzi the Younger in the activities of two lively groups in his hometown: the Florentine Academy and the Alterati Academy. The second chapter discusses his poetical works – for the most part still unpublished –, including dozens of versified epistles in loose hendecasyllables, an unfinished poem in honor of Amerigo Vespucci, as well as a rich corpus of madrigals. The drafting of this last corpus proceeded together with Strozzi the Younger’s theoretical speculation around the new sixteenth-century appearance of this ancient lyrical genre. The third section considers the contribution of Strozzi the Younger to the discussions on poetics (Dante’s ‘Comedy’, the heroic poem, the Aristotelian units) that went on in Italian literary circles in the second half of the sixteenth century. In this work, we aimed to restore the appropriate historical depth to each of the writings examined, through the exegesis of texts combined with the biographical reconstruction conducted on a large number of published and unpublished epistolary documents. We also tried to reconstruct the different cultural contexts in which these writings were composed and attempted to analyze the dense network of relationships, both human and literary, that loomed in the background. The thesis is completed by a bibliography of ancient and modern works, an index of manuscripts and an index of names.

La terza sezione si concentra invece sul contributo dello Strozzi alle discussioni di poetica (la ‘Commedia’ dantesca, il poema eroico, le unità aristoteliche) che accesero gli ambienti letterari italiani nella seconda metà del secolo XVI. Affiancando l’esegesi dei testi alla ricostruzione biografica – condotta su un ampio numero di documenti epistolari editi e inediti –, si è cercato di restituire il giusto spessore storico a ciascuno degli scritti presi in esame, ricostruendo i differenti contesti culturali in cui furono composti e scandagliando la fitta trama di relazioni – umane e letterarie – che si profila sullo sfondo di essi. Completano il lavoro una bibliografia delle opere antiche e moderne, un indice dei manoscritti e un indice dei nomi di persona.The thesis proposes a monographic study on the Florentine Giovan Battista Strozzi the Younger also known as the Blind (1551-1634). He was a writer with connections in cultural circles across Renaissance Italy, including Medici’s Florence, Barberini’s Rome, Borromean Milan and the Roman cenacles of the Aldobrandini and the Humorists. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the participation of Strozzi the Younger in the activities of two lively groups in his hometown: the Florentine Academy and the Alterati Academy. The second chapter discusses his poetical works – for the most part still unpublished –, including dozens of versified epistles in loose hendecasyllables, an unfinished poem in honor of Amerigo Vespucci, as well as a rich corpus of madrigals. The drafting of this last corpus proceeded together with Strozzi the Younger’s theoretical speculation around the new sixteenth-century appearance of this ancient lyrical genre. The third section considers the contribution of Strozzi the Younger to the discussions on poetics (Dante’s ‘Comedy’, the heroic poem, the Aristotelian units) that went on in Italian literary circles in the second half of the sixteenth century. In this work, we aimed to restore the appropriate historical depth to each of the writings examined, through the exegesis of texts combined with the biographical reconstruction conducted on a large number of published and unpublished epistolary documents. We also tried to reconstruct the different cultural contexts in which these writings were composed and attempted to analyze the dense network of relationships, both human and literary, that loomed in the background. The thesis is completed by a bibliography of ancient and modern works, an index of manuscripts and an index of names.

In this essay the author demonstrates that it is possible to “reconstruct” the figure of Caterina Colombini (1340?-1387) – Giovanni Colombini’s cousin – through a group of texts: the hagiography of Caterina, the letters sent to her by Giovanni Colombini and, finally, Giovanni’s biography written by Feo Belcari. The author divides his text into four parts: the first part analyzes the content of Caterina’s hagiography; the second examines the linguistic form of the hagiographic text; in the third, the author analyzes the latent meaning of the window, a symbolic place where Giovanni and Caterina converse on divine topics; in the last part, to conclude, the teachings that Giovanni gives to Catherine and her spiritual daughters – the Gesuate – are analyzed.

Composed between 1448 and 1449, the Vita del beato Giovanni Colombini by Feo Belcari was printed for the first time in 1477 and was destined to growing publishing success over the following centuries both as an independent text and in miscellany dedicated to the blessed. It will be the third edition of the Accademia della Crusca Vocabolario, published in 1691, to increase its affirmation by admitting the entire poetic and prose work of Belcari among the privileged references for the Tuscan vernacular and the Italian language. A recognition that will lead to a Veronese edition of the work in 1817, edited by authoritative scholars of Italian humanistic literature, which will condition many reprints of the work during the first half of the nineteenth century and which will persist even later, when it will be included in series very different, between religious and linguistic / literary interests.

Come studioso sono cresciuto negli anni Settanta-Ottanta, quindi in piena temperie ‘umanistica’, che negli anni Novanta porterà al humanistic language teaching, in cui humanistic ingloba i significati di human (basato sulle caratteristiche degli esseri umani) e humane (un processo umano, rispettoso della dignità umana). Il mio contributo è stato nel rafforzare e diffondere una scuola di glottodidattica umanistica (impostata in Italia da Giovanni Freddi e Renzo Titone, i miei maestri), su cui mi ero formato a UCLA nel 1981 e NYU nel 1986: scuola portata avanti con me da Gianfranco Porcelli e Bona Cambiaghi, e poi da tutta la Scuola Veneziana (su questo gruppo, si vedano i saggi del 2010 e del 2015).
