Abstract:
The aim of the article is to highlight the experiences of those who call themselves “girlfags” and “guydykes” and to interpret the identity labels associated with these terms. Online, the communities that refer to themselves by these terms all define the labels and what they signify in terms of identity differently. These include descriptions of people who consider themselves gay but “in the wrong body”, for example, when a woman is sexually oriented toward gay men or when a man is sexually oriented toward lesbian women, most often with a gender or queer element to the definitions. Little to no previous research can be found on these identities, and what is known is mainly found on internet blogs and forums. The participants were sought through a Facebook forum, resulting in a total of 11 interviews with two guydykes and nine girlfags. The results were analyzed within the framework of social constructionism and applied with Butler’s (1990) concept of the heterosexual matrix and van Anders’ (2015) Sexual Configurations Theory (SCT), involving concepts of gender/sex sexuality, nurturance, and eroticism. The results show that those who identify as girlfags and guydykes are proud of their identity, but the complexity of the identity nevertheless affects many aspects of their lives. The respondents reveal how the labels involve one’s sense of self and gender identity. In addition, they touch upon transgender issues, sexual identity, sexual orientation, and other relational aspects. These identities break gender norms, sexual practices, and even sexual orientations within the LGBT context. The results indicate the need for further research on transgender issues; in particular, the relational and social aspects of the girlfag and guydyke identities.

Abstract:
Abstract How foraging predators explore their environment is a fundamental aspect of predator-prey interactions. Girling et al. (2007) tested Coccinella septempunctata in a Y-maze, finding that approximately 45% of individuals displayed significant turning biases. We extend the work of Girling et al. in three ways: (1) turning bias was tested on vertical as well as horizontal structures, (2) turning bias was tested on natural Y-shaped twigs as well as artificial twigs and (3) turning bias was recorded both as the pre-designated ‘left’ or ‘right’ physical branch selected and from the perspective of ladybirds. No significant patterns of ‘handedness’ were apparent with vertical orientation, on either substrate. With horizontal orientation, significant turning biases were exhibited on artificial but not natural twigs. Overall, although turning biases are theoretically efficient when searching branched structures, we propose that in natural environments ladybirds will base their foraging movements on environmental cues.

Abstract:
Aim. To highlight how girlfags and guydykes describe their identities and their experience and interpretation of the identity labels. Background and previous studies. The sexual minority identity of girlfags and guydykes are sometimes perceived as provocative in their contradictory labels. There is little to no previous research on the identities and what is known is mostly presented on internet blogs and forums. The identities seemingly involve aspects on sexual orientation, gender and sexual practice. Research related to sexual minorities, non-normative sex, LGBT and the risk of ill-health with identifying as a sexual minority is presented. Method. Semi-structured interviews in a method of choice was applied to this study so as to ease contact with a sexual minority group. Participants were sought through a Facebook © forum, with a total of eleven interviews with two guydykes and nine girlfags, through video call (2), phone call (1), in person (1), email (6), email with sound files (1). The data was analysed with content analysis. Results and analysis. The results were extensive and had to be delimited. The results were analysed in a sexual constructionist setting using the concept of the heterosexual matrix (Butler, 1990) and the concepts of gender/sex sexuality and nurturance and eroticism presented in van Anders’ (2015) Sexual Configurations Theory (SCT). Three main categories were presented; A play on gender, Sexuality and Orientation, and Identity. Conclusions. There is pride portrayed in the girlfag and guydykes identities. The identity breaks norms regarding gender and sexuality and even sexual orientation within an LGBT context. The results indicate that further research on transgender issues and relational and social aspects of the identities is needed. Keywords: autoandrophilia, gender identity, genderqueer, girlfag, guydyke, homosexuality, LGBT, non-normative, sexual minorities, lesbian man, queer.

Abstract:
This thesis focuses upon the Girlingites, or English Shakers, a millenarian movement that was characterised by a particular union of apocalyptic religion, prophecy and gender roles, in the latter half of the nineteenth century. The study narrates the history of the Girlingite movement from its foundation by Mary Ann Girling in the late 1860s, to its dissolution after her death in 1886. It examines the complex interaction between the spiritual belief of the Girlingites and prevalent Victorian gender ideology, and analyses the spirituality, worship and community of the movement in terms of wider contemporary gender paradigms.

Abstract:
For a long time, few historical studies have focused on the life of girls, especially rural, working class girls’ experiences. Within the field of Swedish educational history, scholars have tended to delve into the lives of the daughters of the bourgeoisie rather than the girls in the public elementary schools (folkskolan). Because of this, the dominant image that comes to mind when thinking of a turn of the century schoolgirl is someone from the upper class attending an all girls’ school. This master’s thesis aims to widen both the field of girlhood studies and that of educational history by looking at the “process of girling” taking place in the Swedish public elementary school between 1900 and 1930. A starting point is the notion explored by Judith Butler and Fanny Ambjörnsson: that gender is a result of repeated actions, such as running in a certain way, playing with your friends, or wearing specific clothes – or the absence of these actions. This thesis explores these actions, in addition to the reaction of the worlds around them. Utilizing data collected from nine school related questionnaires sent out between the 1950s and 1990s by The Institute for Language and Folklore, it compares the experience of an average schoolgirl with the dominant bourgeoisie ideal and the ideal taken from a dominant periodical for public elementary school teachers. Actions of resistance, queer or “skeva” acts and how they play a part in the process of girling, will also be explored. The primary conclusion drawn from the analysis of this material is that the situation for working class girls differs somewhat from that of more privileged peers, as well as the ideal constructed in the periodical. While girls from the bourgeoisie were also expected to fulfill the role of wife and mother, the conditions differed. One example is the kind of rural crafts or handicraft made by the working class girls from an early age. This activity was an important contribution the economy of the family and definitely not a past time as it was in the upper class. Even though a ban on child labor had been passed, it seemed as though children working was a very normalized part of life in rural areas as more often than not, it was children that were responsible for bringing water into the classroom and tending the iron stove. The possibilities for working class girls appears to have been limited continuing into the 1920s as the only secondary education available for a majority of the girls was in domestic skills for the purpose of managing a private household. Although young women from the upper class were shut out from many professions, they still had greater access to higher education. On the contrary, most working class women did not even attend secondary school as evidenced by the source material report showing women staying on the home farm, or starting work somewhere else. Firmness and austerity of mind can be identified among the girls at a time where the everyday work at home and in school needed to be done and sulking simply was not an option. The many reports of actions of resistance to the social norm show that the limits of girlhood were constantly being challenged by the schoolgirls in the study.

This research attempts to achieve self-therapy and reconciliation, by recognizing the dilemma of the self-identity. In the process of self-discovery, the research will recognize that there is counter-influence on the body identity and family relationship. Also, in the discovery of the body identity, it will define that the hatred of our body identity is originated from the triangle relationship -body, self and family. In the process of writing, the researcher creates a dialogue with our bodies, and experiencing the therapy and growing from the rebirth. This will regain the courage of vitality and loving. This study attempts to use self-narration to reconstruct the life experience of a client after with the mimesis (Flick, 1998) Lai Cheng-Bin modifying as the following three processes: interpretation I, experience I and text I.These explains the dialogue of our life stores, reconstructing and establishing the perception of the body identity. Research shown: 1. By writing and collecting the researcher’s life stories, this research encourages the interaction between body and self-therapy. Also, by rethought and reflection, the research assists redefining the life experience, this will deconstruct the bundle and the inner value of the body identity. 2. From the strength of self-narration, the researcher will establish a therapy for the heart of mercy. Also, it will help us to embrace the imperfect of the body. From the aspect of understanding the reconciliation with parents, this writing process will help us to grow up via the experience. The research also helps the reader to see their growing transformation from a girl to a woman. 3. “The triangle relationship of the body”- From back tracing our life experience, the researcher will discover that the meaning of one’s body-identity is originated from self values-which is tremendously impacted by family. However, the body-identity also reflects one’s family relationship, viewing that the relationship between the body and the family is interrelated. Abstract:
Our analysis is focused on modeling of friction phenomena exhibited by a brake like duo-servo system. The occurred in girling duo-servo brake an frictional mechanism can be modeled approximately by two degrees-of-freedom mechanical system, where a normal force varies during displacement of a block. The Coulomb friction is used after numerical analysis, and a normal force pressing the sliding body to a belt depending on an angle bar motion of the analyzed system is applied. In addition, the numerical analysis is supported by investigation of the real laboratory object modeling the feedback reinforcement of friction forces acting on the block.
