Abstract:

Zusammenfassung. Die Validität des erweiterten Differentiellen Selbstkonzept Gitters (DISK-Gitter; Rost & Sparfeldt, 2002 ) - ein Verfahren zur Erfassung schulfachspezifischer Selbstkonzepte - wird an N = 999 Schülern der 7. bis 10. Klassenstufe überprüft. Das DISK-Gitter mit den hier betrachteten sechs Facetten “Mathematik“, “Deutsch“, “Physik“, “Geschichte“, “Englisch“ und “Biologie“ erweist sich konfirmatorisch als faktoriell valide. Konvergente und divergente Validitätsaspekte können anhand der Beziehungen zu ausgewählten Skalen des Self-Description Questionnaire II (SDQ II; Marsh, 1990a ), zur Skala zur Erfassung schulischer Leistungen und Fähigkeiten (SKSLF; Rost & Lamsfuß, 1992 ), zu Schulzensuren sowie in Bezug auf Geschlechtsunterschiede belegt werden. Es ergeben sich hypothesenkonforme Korrelationsmuster und Mittelwertsunterschiede. Insgesamt erweist sich das erweiterte DISK-Gitter als ökonomisches, reliables und valides Instrument zur Messung schulfachspezifischer Selbstkonzepte.

Zusammenfassung. Mit dem acht Items umfassenden deutschsprachigen Differentiellen Schulischen Selbstkonzept Gitter (DISK-Gitter; Rost, Sparfeldt & Schilling, 2007 ) lassen sich mehrere fachspezifisch-akademische Selbstkonzepte simultan und sehr ökonomisch messen. Die Struktur und psychometrischen Kennwerte einer chinesischen Adaptation des DISK-Gitters wurden anhand zweier Studien überprüft (Studie 1, Universitätsstichprobe mit N1 = 601 Studenten und Studentinnen des Studienfachs „Deutsche Sprache“; Selbstkonzepte: Chinesisch, Englisch, Deutsch und Mathematik; Studie 2, Schulstichprobe mit N2 = 441 Mittelschulschülern und Mittelschulschülerinnen; Selbstkonzepte: Chinesisch, Englisch, Geschichte und Politik). Die Fachspezifität akademischer Selbstkonzepte konnte mit explorativen (Studie 1, Teilstichprobe 1A, n1A = 239) und konfirmatorischen (Studie 1, Teilstichprobe 1B, n1B = 367 sowie Studie 2) Dimensionsanalysen bestätigt werden. Die psychometrischen Kennwerte aller Selbstkonzeptskalen waren gut, ihre konvergenten und divergenten Validitäten hinsichtlich der Beziehungen zu Leistungen in einem Deutschtest (Studie 1) und zu fachspezifisch-akademischen Selbstwirksamkeiten (Studie 2) ließen sich belegen.

Abstract:

Zusammenfassung. McClelland hat vor einiger Zeit eine Motivationstheorie vorgestellt, in der eine prinzipielle Unterscheidung zwischen impliziten und expliziten Motiven gemacht wird. Im Hinblick auf diese Unterscheidung versucht die vorliegende Arbeit, die Aussagemöglichkeiten verschiedener Motivmeßverfahren (TAT, Gitter-Technik, Fragebogen) - hier exemplarisch für das Leistungsmotiv - erneut zu analysieren. Zunächst werden Fragen der Reliabilität und des Gültigkeitsbereichs behandelt. Es zeigt sich, daß alle drei Verfahren eine befriedigende Reliabilität haben, allerdings müssen zu deren Nachweis beim TAT andere Modelle herangezogen werden als die klassische Testtheorie. Der TAT weist den am weitesten ausgefächerten Gültigkeitsbereich auf, der nahezu auch durch die Gitter-Technik abgedeckt wird. Fragebogen sind weniger valide, wenn es um die Vorhersage von operantem Verhalten geht. Die Überlegenheit von TAT und Gitter-Technik gegenüber dem Fragebogen wird darauf zurückgeführt, daß diese beiden Verfahren mit bildsituativer Motivanregung arbeiten, wobei kein expliziter Bezug zu dem gemessenen Motivkonstrukt hergestellt wird. Eine Reihe von Beispielen aus der kognitiven Psychologie kann belegen, daß Bilder einen bevorzugten und ungefilterten (impliziten) Zugriff auf semantisch zugeordnetes Gedächtnismaterial erlauben. Wir vermuten, daß die Zugänglichkeit dieses Materials durch Motivationsvariablen vermittelt wird.

Abstract:

Zusammenfassung Saphir-Faser-Bragg-Gitter (SFBG) sind neuartige Temperatursensoren, die mittels fs-Laserpulsen in einkristallinen Saphirfasern erzeugt werden, wobei durch Wellenlängenmultiplexen mehrere Gitter in eine Faser geschrieben werden können. SFBG wurden von Raumtemperatur (RT) bis zu 1900 ℃ getestet. Die Temperaturabhängigkeit ist parabolisch und steigt von ca. 23 p.m./K bei RT auf 35 p.m./K bei 1500 ℃. Durch eine angepasste Auswertung des Reflexionsspektrums wird eine Faser-Bragg-Wellenlänge bestimmt, wobei relative Temperaturänderungen von ± 1 K nachgewiesen werden können. SFBG werden durch elektromagnetische Felder nicht beeinflusst. Sie können sowohl in oxidierender als auch in reduzierender Atmosphäre eingesetzt werden. Allerdings müssen Saphirfasern durch Schutzrohre gegen Kontamination geschützt werden. Sowohl der kurzzeitige Einsatz bei 1900 ℃ als auch ein Einsatz über vier Wochen bei 1400 ℃ führte zu keiner nachweisbaren Drift oder Alterung der SFBG. SFBG sind eine mögliche Alternative zu Thermoelementen oder Pyrometern.

Abstract:

ABSTRACT: To evaluate the outcome of acute lesions in the brains of sheep that completely clinically recover from acute polioencephalomalacia (PEM), ten sheep were used in this experiment. Eight of those sheep received varying doses of amprolium to induce PEM. Four sheep were treated intramuscularly with 40mg/kg/body weight with thiamine to allow recovery and four sheep were left untreated. Two control sheep did not receive either amprolium or thiamine and were kept along with the other eight sheep for the duration of the experiment. Except for the two drugs, the diet and water source were the same for the ten sheep. Two sheep receiving high daily doses of amprolium and one sheep receiving a lower dose had acute deaths and developed acute brain lesions consisting of neuronal laminar cortical necrosis (red neurons), edema, reactive astrocytes, swollen endothelial cells and gitter cells infiltration. Four sheep that recovered from lower doses of amprolium-induced PEM after being treated with thiamine and another one that recovered spontaneously were euthanatized six months after clinical recovery and had gross changes consisting of segmental absence of cortical tissue. Histologically these segmental cortex-deprived areas corresponded to quasi-empty spaces where only vessels and gitter cells existed. No changes were seen in the brains of the two control sheep.

ZusammenfassungDer Artikel gibt eine anwendungsbezogene Einführung in das religiöse Selbstkonzept Grid (RSG). Dabei handelt es sich um eine Variante der Repertory Grid Technik, die den Fokus auf das religiöse oder spirituelle Selbstkonzept einer Person richtet. Zunächst werden die Vorläufer dieser Methode, die Selbst-Identitäts-Grafik (SIG) von Norris und Makhlouf-Norris (1976) und das Selbstkonzept-Gitter (SG) von Orklik (1979) dargestellt. Darauf aufbauend wird in das religiöse Selbstkonzept Grid (RSG) eingeführt. Interpretationsmöglichkeiten werden anhand von zwei Fallbeispielen von Neumitgliedern der Zeugen Jehovas erläutert. Abschließend werden auf Möglichkeiten thematisiert, das diagnostische Potenzial des RSG für therapeutische Prozesse fruchtbar zu machen.

Abstract:

Objectives The aim of the study was to evaluate central nervous system (CNS) lesions in non-effusive and effusive cases of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) regarding aspects related to astrocytic and microglial reactions. Methods Five necropsied cats that were naturally infected with FIP virus, confirmed by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemistry, with different intensities of CNS lesions, were studied. Brain and cerebellum were evaluated by light microscopy and immunohistochemistry for glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and vimentin to assess astrocytic morphology, and lectin histochemistry for Ricinus communis agglutinin-I (RCA-I) to detect microglia was performed to evaluate the glial response in the CNS of cats with FIP. Results An important astrocytic response in many areas of the CNS of all cats, including the periventricular areas of lateral ventricles and fourth ventricle, the molecular layer of the cerebellum and cerebral cortex, was visualized. This astrocytic reactivity was associated with areas of granulomatous or pyogranulomatous vasculitis/perivasculitis in most cases, and it was characterized by multifocal to coalescing astrocytosis and astrogliosis with an increase in the expression of intermediate filaments, such as GFAP. However, astrocytes exhibited strong vimentin expression in neuroparenchyma with severe inflammatory and necrotic changes, but GFAP expression was mild or absent in these cases. A microglial response was present only in severe lesions, and RCA-I expression was detected primarily in gitter cells and resting microglia. Abstract:

An outbreak of cerebrospinal nematodiasis due to Baylisascaris sp. was documented in an urban outdoor aviary in southern California. Thirty-four out of 35 cockatiels ( Nymphicus hollandicus, 97%) showed a variety of neurological signs including ataxia, lateral recumbency, opisthotonus, and torticollis. Thirteen carcasses were submitted for necropsy; the histological lesions were restricted to the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and were predominantly degenerative, characterized by multifocal white matter vacuolation, gliosis, axonal swelling, gitter cell infiltration, and mild hemorrhage, rarely accompanied by mild granulomatous inflammation and mild lymphocytic perivascular cuffs. Nematode larvae morphologically compatible with Baylisascaris sp. were observed in the brain of 5 birds, away from the lesion site.

Abstract:

A pig was in left lateral recumbency with limb spasticity, accentuated prostration, and strabismus, and was euthanized. During autopsy, yellowing of the leptomeninges at the ventral pons to medulla oblongata was noted. In the cerebellar peduncles, there was a focally extensive black-to-yellow area at the level of the vestibular nuclei. Histologic examination revealed a cross-section of a nematode larva, consistent with Stephanurus dentatus, bordered by edema and marked infiltration of mononuclear cells, plasma cells, and a few eosinophils. Vacuolation of the neuropil, with rare gitter cells and axonal spheroids, was also observed. We diagnosed parasitic encephalitis caused by S. dentatus migration based on the pathology findings and characterization of the parasite.
